It might not look that way at first glance but this is the best Alien game in many years. It’s a strange mixture of ideas which perhaps shouldn’t work together as well as they do. We’d certainly welcome a sequel.

Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic is a presentable representative of the almost forgotten hidden object genre. It captivates with its graphics and musical accompaniment, hidden mini-stories, but its greatest strength lies in the editor and the promise of an endless array of levels from the community. Overall, it is a pleasant and relaxing pastime.

Compose music like a bricklayer builds a house! Fract teaches gamers to feel the sound truly spatially – you will even touch it innumerable times. Nonetheless, the game has very thick scales, and among its complicated puzzles it has lost its power to entertain.

A breath of fresh air into the stagnant genre and a big surprise. Lords of the Fallen is an example of a game into which a lot of love and carefully thought-out ideas have clearly poured. The result exceeded my expectations.

This quest for the future of a cursed Tokyo is unfortunately a little bland, accompanied by a silly story and a combat system that feels too easy. If you like your Japanese mythology and eastern religions, however, this might just end up being a real treat for you.

The main draw of Sand Land is its adventure and well-written characters borrowed from the beloved source material. While their manga-like appearance might not appeal to everyone, the care and love for the original comic are evident in every move they make, complemented by excellent voice acting. However, the unfulfilled potential of the open world and the dull quest content are disappointing, only redeemed by the entertaining combat system featuring customizable vehicles. Despite these drawbacks, Sand Land is worth playing to experience its story.

The rhythmic legend is back in a very solid remaster. Beware the risks of addiction! Pata, pata, pata pon!

A nice adventure game that will pamper the gamers with its screenplay as well as brilliant puzzles, but at the same time the gamers will be surprised by its execution and flat characters. However, despite all the flaws the game is still above its competition.

It takes a few chapters, but even if this horror is far from a true one, eventually, it is able to move you by its elegant action, and to impress you by some of its juicy moments. Roots cannot be renounced here, however, they are restraining it to no avail.

Kvark is a decent shooter that plays well overall. While it loses some momentum in the second of its three acts, it regains its stride by the end, especially when transitioning from claustrophobic underground complexes to surface locations. Unfortunately, it doesn't fully capitalize on its period setting and its attempts at humor fall flat.

The old design failures are still here, coupled with new ones - mainly annoying bugs. It’s true, however, that some parts of the game, namely its graphics, are far better than they used to be. There is still a place in this world for Rome.

The latest game from Haemimont Games is based on the tradition of Diablo and fulfills the requirements for the high-quality action RPG. It is unable to beat reigning Diablo, but the last Van Helsing was beaten easily.

Dying Light reminds me of Dead Island most of the time, but it doesn’t surpass Dead Island in any way. Co-op mode remains entertaining, but otherwise the game doesn’t excel in anything. Most importantly, the image of a zombie apocalypse is absolutely disappointing.

Pity, the environment offers relatively small variability, and sometimes the clashes are just extremely confusing.

Get Even creators have probably lost both fans of horror games and shooters by layering the story and dosing it through shorter memories. But they attracted both the fans of thrillers and fans of exciting stories – which is definitely quite an achievement.

Spending time with Iron Brigade is a very relaxing thing - the game will entertain you, even make you laugh. However, as well as the other tower defense games it does have those symptoms without a cure - stereotypical gameplay kicks in very soon. And Co-op gameplay is way too easy.

All in all, a simplified and then stereotypical, but yet a JRPG made with love the best way from the 90s. Fans of Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy will feel like at home, for others it’s a good opportunity to venture into the secrets of Japanese RPGs.

This is a truly emotional adventure game, narrated in a playful, original fashion. Its actual gameplay, however, isn’t as interesting as it could have been. Still, it’s beautiful, it’s well acted and the soundtrack is phenomenal.

The Escapists 2 will delight you with new graphics, a multiplayer game including a LAN option and plenty of new exotic dungeons. Unfortunately, due to its high difficulty, somewhat frustrating mechanics and repetitiveness (no change since part one here), only the most skilled players will probably enjoy the game.

A very good port of a very good game. The only relevant mode is the local competitive one, but it’s so brilliant it doesn’t really matter. The strong points of the game are further accentuated by Nintendo Switch and its Joy-Cons.

The first episode of the Game of Thrones adventure is a great advertisement for the TV show. It describes well Martin's world of intrigue, bad characters and thrilling twists. But the game itself is weak. The story feels as a recycled House of Stark destiny, the plot doesn't have a great pace and dialogues are weaker than those in TV series. The second episode will have a lot to improve.

A solid remaster of a good old-fashioned strategy game. Its biggest problem? It will forever lie in the shadow of its famous predecessor.

A wonderful trip to the depth of human soul, which is called Nihilumbra, doesn't last long though, however, it will steal your heart none the less. This game is highly original and atmospheric, which outdoes all its obvious flaws.

The dialogues are wobbly, you won’t really like the main characters and the supporting ones are just plain boring. But this game will hook you in by its courageous topic and a string of fascinating memories.

There are certainly things to enjoy in this redone version of Layers of Fear, especially its visuals and carefully constructed psychological horror elements, perfect for players willing to look for hidden connections. Its attempts to scare you fall a bit flat, however. But while the overall story of the writer is deeply disappointing, the new depressing episode, The Final Notice, is capable of true emotional destruction.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun offers an epic cleansing in the name of the God-Emperor. It offers a beautifully realized Warhammer universe, including its famous antagonists and weapons. It’s not perfect by any means, not even judging by the standards of the boomer shooter genre, but it’s a bloody good piece of fan service.

Surprisingly a complex simulator of the crew of the famous bomber. Despite the troublesome control and higher difficulty, the more patient of you can look forward to a truly unique and truly atmospheric gaming experience.

Troy is not a very good approximation of the actual Trojan War, nor is it pure mythological carnage. But, miraculously, it actually manages to blend real-time battles and long-term strategy into a really exciting cocktail.

Fun turn-based RPG revolves around the shooting of the 90-ties heroic series. The game is full of interesting ideas and small funny things, thanks to that the game looks very fresh, although otherwise it uses traditional scheme of RPG games.

A good-looking game with great voice acting and interesting characters. Your own choices, however, don’t matter at all, there’s no gameplay to speak of and the story itself is rather bland.

This well-made musical shoot 'em up probably won't live up to the classics, but it manages to entertain for long hours. Fortunately, some flaws here and there do not bring the gameplay enjoyment down. If you love music and shoot 'em ups at least a bit, you can't go wrong with Symphony.

Leviathan is the equivalent to the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC for ME2. It has no ambition to transform the game series, it just wants to be joyful Mass Effect 3 gameplay experience. Do not expect any revolution or story revelation, and you will be satisfied.

Ara delves deeply into a single mechanic. Warfare, diplomacy, religion, and research are stripped down to the bare essentials, leaving the majority of your time focused on balancing the production of a massive array of materials and their interconnected, complex production chains. While this is initially engaging, it quickly becomes tedious in the later stages, where balancing production feels more like managing a budget before an accounting deadline.

The Master Collection stays afloat solely because the first five Metal Gear games remain superbly playable and timeless even after two decades. However, the minimal effort put into archiving and bringing these legendary espionage thrillers to modern platforms resulted in an incoherent collection riddled with technical glitches and perplexing unfinished elements.

For die-hard fans, it's a welcome expansion, for everyone else, a slightly above-average action snack.

Nerve-wracking duels, nerve-wracking duels, nerve-wracking duels – don’t expect anything more from Titan Souls. It's a strict action arcade which quite successfully imitates the Shadow of the Colossus.

The Thaumaturge is a conflicting game. It beautifully depicts an alternative history and Warsaw in 1905. However, the main character is challenging to connect with, and his story feels a bit hastily put together. Despite this, individual stories offer quality entertainment and tough moral choices. The Salutors are excellently rendered graphically, and their abilities in combat are enjoyable. If only the combat itself were better balanced, and the encounters were designed to have some narrative sense. Nevertheless, the overall game is entertaining; you just need to overlook some imperfections.

The gigantic world and thirty hours of gameplay at least, which consists of constantly repeating twenty minutes – it's Just Cause 3. It´s necessary to add, that how much entertaining this twenty minutes will be, it's up to you. If you need to relax or to vent some destructive appetites, the game does not disappoint you. Just don’t expect anything else.

We'll still have to wait for successors to giants like Medieval II or Rome II, but even so, Pharaoh is the best attempt at a historical Total War since Attila, despite borrowing many systems from Warhammer or Saga-labeled titles. Add an extra point if you have an affinity to ancient Egypt and can be satisfied with two or three completed campaigns. On the other hand, if you expect extensive entertainment for hundreds of hours or units that rival the fantasy branch of the series in diversity, you may soon start to get bored with Pharaoh.

The Curious Expedition is an expedition into uncharted areas, you can enjoy in a couple of hours a week. Using in larger quantities reveals the problem with content and soon magic associated with discoveries fades.

A relaxing alchemy shop simulator in which you actually brew all the concoctions yourself. The game feels unfinished, however, and misses a way to make the manual brewing process less tedious. It slows down about halfway through and turns into a grind.

2D strategy has a surprisingly excellent core, which unfortunately lacks larger amount of content. Kingdom is the really funny game, but not for a longer period of time.

Right now, multiplayer is the only reason to play this game or at least think about it.

A very ordinary shooter, where you will be deluged by hordes of undead from all sides. Although it is wrapped in nice graphics and injected with funny messages, its monotonous content will make you yawn sooner or later. This gangster zombie humoresque could be a top-notch if only they try better.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 is a bold remake of the series' most divisive entry, which, instead of cutting the mocked segments, puts them on display. A modernized combat system and a mountain of side content keep pace with today's standards, even if the innovations are minimal. As a whole, it is an accessible and more dramatic version of the third game, and simultaneously one of the most personal chapters of Kiryu's story, which is well worth playing to understand the later entries.

This is a great classic adventure game that's maybe suffering from the old mechanics, but still it manages to hide its flaws by showing beautiful hand-drawn graphics and great humour.

A different studio, the same product. Arkham Origins is basically the Arkham City title, re-painted not to a pink colour but into the mood of Batman's advent. The fun is there, however and unfortunately, its drawbacks should really be solved.

King's Bounty is The King's Bounty - the fast-paced turn-based strategy game with the funny story and hundreds of tactical options. For Might & Magic followers and for those seeking a good entertainment this game is a must, even though it's all the same as the previous installments.

There are titles that do not need too much invention. A good workmanship in a cleverly chosen environment and a little creative tenderness are enough. The result are inconspicuous gaming pearls, whose are a joy to collect and play. Nantucket is exactly such a game.

A conflicted return of a cult horror classic that excels in atmosphere, story, and audiovisual presentation, but falters significantly in gameplay. While the eerie Japanese village and its gradually uncovered dark past rank among the genre’s highlights, frustrating and unbalanced combat, confusing navigation, and technical issues heavily undermine the experience. A game with immense potential and a strong core, but one that can only be recommended to the most dedicated horror fans.

Extensive and very pretty fighting game in its core, however sewed with hot needle and issued in an unpleasant condition. Capcom clearly cuts a branch beneath themselves to get an easy profit. Only time will tell, whether this series will get back its reputation using a pile of patches and DLCs. Its heroes would undoubtedly deserve it.

Hunt mammoths, cultivate the land and bake bread in an educational and fun gaming experience about the dawn of human history. Just be prepared for some rough edges.

A last year's model that's been brushed off, proving that bigger is not always better. This one serves well while waiting for the next "big" Resident Evil title. But if you skip this chapter, you'll feel no remorse. Especially when you think about that wide horizon of zombie games that are much more effective.

Well-done action, especially if you play the multiplayer. It separates the original formula from any major fear, but fortunately replaces it with entertaining and solid shooting. If you are a fan of the first two parts, you cannot miss with the third part. And if you think your action games are not dark and bloody enough, then you will be satisfied too.

El Hijo will satisfy a craving for stealth games and it looks stunning, but it’s not very original and its weird controls are an endless source of frustration.

An attempt to make an online game of the present day has turned out well. The game is enjoying, thrilling, making fun out of us and tormenting our brains, but at the same time it offers the moments of ecstatic rejoice, happiness and relief.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a thoughtful, stylish, and confident soulslike that knows exactly what it wants to be. With excellent level design, an atmospheric world rooted in Chinese mythology, and plenty of original ideas, it feels like far more than just a cheap Dark Souls imitation. While technical issues and a few unfortunate design choices hold it back from true greatness, it still stands out as one of the strongest entries in the genre – sure to satisfy both seasoned veterans and newcomers to challenging action RPGs.
