We've had many issues with the control scheme 3D Clouds decided to use on their game because sometimes if seems almost impossible to make a successful turn with your car. This issue aside Xenon Racer is a decent racer, which -quite successfully- blends the gameplay from the Ridge Racer and Wipeout series, that feels ideal for some short bursts of everyday arcade racing fun.

A quite decent package that contains the two Dead Island games with updated graphics and lots of extras. It’s not something really new, but if you’ve missed them on their initial release now is the time to try them out.

This came as quite a surprise. Movie tie-ins nowadays are mostly cheap cash-ins, but Under Pressure VR takes the Overcooked formula, gives it a VR spin and, finally, delivers a fun experience that is at its best when playing with your friends.

Although it is not a "VR only" game, Falcon Age truly shines when played in VR mode with the use of Move Controllers. By playing like that you are immersed in an exotic world and really feel the bond with your falcon. Some problems do exist and we believe that the battle system is quite broken, but overall this is an experience that worth your time.

While it is wonderful that Might & Magic is back with us after so many years, it is a bit frustrating that it is enclosed in a new generic fantasy world. Nevertheless, its brutal gameplay and dungeon crawling is back with a bang and fans of the series will be well rewarded by returning to the cradle of western RPGs.

Be aware. MXGP is a well crafted Motocross game, but its difficulty curve and -sometimes extreme- realism are not meant for the inexperienced player.

This remake of Until Dawn feels more like a remaster than a true remake, despite its notable enhancements. For those who played the original, justifying the purchase of this version may be difficult, although it could be considered the definitive edition for new players.

Call of Cthulhu has a very engaging atmosphere and story telling, adopting successfully the Lovecraftian Mythos, but messes things up when trying to insert gameplay mechanics like stealth and shooting. It should have focused more on puzzles, investigation and light RPG elements. Technically the game looks aged -something we could have overlooked- but the 45 euro price has no place for lenience.

Though the quality of Maize’s humor is a subjective matter, we have to admit that we enjoyed this crazy descent to the top-secret facility. However, its gameplay is so simplistic and devoid of challenge that exists only to transfer us from one gag to the other, impacting the overall three hour experience.

Unfortunately, even though Observer has its moments, it is nevertheless inferior in almost all aspects when compared with the uniquely horrifying experience offered by Layers of Fear. The decently crafted intrusion of people’s minds cannot overcome the absence of world building as well as the derivative main plot. Worth mentioning that Rutger Hauer may seemed a right choice on paper but in reality its disinterest with his role is almost palpable.

Anthem has its share of problems, like the poor "Quality of Life", a few major bugs and some design flaws, but it has laid the foundation for a game that can be greatly improved upon. Now it is time for BioWare's move.

Devil May Cry is an eighteen-year old classic -with all its mechanisms intact- that tries to allure a new audience; one that is for playing on the go. It does its best to come up to modern times, but ultimately fails to provide a solid reason for a purchase. The lack of any elements that could have improved or expanded the original version, plus the lack of the other two games that come together as an HD collection in other platforms can only make us skeptical regarding its existence.

Bravely Second End Layer is a decent game with beautiful visuals and a solid combat system, although as a direct sequel it fails to deliver a decent story and something new as an experience for those who played the first game.

DOW 3 is trying very hard to satisfy many target groups -RTS players, online competitors, mobs fans- but in the end it fails to deliver something memorable.

It’s one of those games that truly falls into two extremes of the quality spectrum. On one hand it introduces a truly fresh time manipulation mechanic which can lead to some intense and utterly satisfying action scenes, no small feat for a game of the FPS genre. On the other hand it offers limited content and an overall feeling that the release version of Superhot is still in its beta phase.

The biggest flaw of Mortal Shell is how much it tries to be a Dark Souls game, especially aesthetically, something that makes all of its shortcomings so much more prevalent. Its world is quite small and restricted compared to other soulsborne games, and it lacks in terms of personality, by trying to present a dark fantasy setting so similar to what we have already seen. Nevertheless, it still is one of the most detailed 3D games of the indie scene in it still provides an entertaining 10-15 hours experience thanks mostly to the well-crafted combat system, albeit without deviating from established formulas, and a good variety of nicely designed enemies.

Missing Bangan is an adequate addition to this obscure game series, with charming visuals and clever level design. However, its short length and simplistic gameplay prevent it from standing out in a crowded genre.

Midnight Murder Club introduces fresh multiplayer ideas with clever use of shadows and light. Be that as it may, while it is intriguing at first, its lack of variety in gameplay and content causes it to lose steam quickly.

Kingdom Hearts III ReMind is a dlc that offers the post game content (boss fights) and the difficulty challenge that was absent from the main game.

No one can deny that Firewatch is full of promise. The problem is that it rarely fulfills it.

The Technomancer is one of those rare games in modern gaming industry. Medium budget games with AAA ambition in mind. The game offers a rich sci-fi world with tons of lore and meaningful choices, but it’s combat can be a great hit and miss and it’s graphics seem outdated. It does everything in adequate fashion, but nothing in spectacular way. We need more games like this one.

Elli is the first attempt for BandanaKid to make a dynamic start in the videogames industry, yet fails in many parts. Lots of erroneous developing choices during production phase are obvious in the final product, which discourage players to treat the game the way it deserves. And it’s a shame, because there are so many things inside it, that can ultimately persuade players to stick with it to the very end. A recommended indie title, which should be scrutinized by all players before purchase.

Stick with it for more than an hour and you may well change the feeling of utter boredom to a genuine attachment for the survival or your spaceship. That is until the Framen board relentlessly your vessel and annihilate the 3-4 hour progress back to point zero.

When compared to last year’s addition to the franchise, MotoGP 18 by Milestone seems a step back, a product that resembles more of an update of the previous edition rather than a completely new game. Nevertheless, the superb physics and overall great handling are guaranteed, elements that newcomers to the franchise will surely appreciate.

Supermassive Games plays it extremely safe, following the established design and gameplay formula to the letter when compared to Tarsier Studios’ previous titles. The addition of co-op is a fun touch, but it doesn’t do much to deliver a truly fresh experience. For better or worse, this is exactly what fans of the series can expect, no surprises whatsoever.

Gore Doctor aims to disturb, and largely succeeds. It delivers genuine unease and fear, but its singular focus on shock comes at the expense of other crucial elements, like its lacklustre A.I., clunky combat, and derivative visuals.

This remaster is only a marginal improvement over the original. Its audiovisuals have certainly been upgraded, but the main issues, forgettable level design and subpar gameplay, remain, reminding us that the original Castle of Heart was ultimately a derivative platformer.

While the core mechanics of Mothergunship are awesome (gunplay, shooting, level design, pace in battle) and the performance is great -both technically and visually- the game suffers from its “rng” nature, making the whole “big gun crafting” trivial and tiresome. It should have invested more in actual gameplay with those hard-earned guns and not in the process of creating them each and every single time for every level. Τhe randomness of many gameplay elements fluctuates the derived fun.

One of the most important Mario RPG games that was a hit for the GBA console makes a comeback that suits Nintendo 3DS better and gives the younger audience a chance to experience a great adventure. However, older gamers will not really find a good reason to return, as the script and the mechanics are the same as the previous game and Bowser’s mission will easily become a repetitive addition.

Carrier Deck is a welcome addition to the niche "simulators" genre, offering a unique opportunity to manage a military carrier. It's fast-paced and features a clean, simple UI that makes it easy for newcomers to grasp its managerial tasks. However, it could benefit from a broader variety of mechanics, tools, and missions to enhance long-term engagement.

Neon Inferno could have been a pleasant discovery in a 90s arcade booth. Its standout feature, allowing players to shoot both on the 2D plane and into the background, gives the game a much-needed sense of personality, elevating a bit an otherwise fairly ordinary (though certainly decent) run-’n’-gun experience.

It's could never a good sign when a musical game isn't in the position to offer a memorable playlist. Unfortunately, Samba de Amigo is a forgettable experience which at best may offer a few laughs when played with friends.

With a brief runtime of no more than three hours, minimal gameplay, and problematic voice-overs, Once Alive is difficult to recommend. However, the art direction and visual quality are commendable achievements, especially considering it was made from a solo developer.

The Arabian Nights aesthetic provides a very nice and imaginative backdrop for City of Brass’s roguelike action and the whip mechanics provides a suitable personality to its gameplay. Unfortunately, a lot of the upgrades are meaningless and the randomness of the generated levels is more same than it should be for a game that we return again and again in the starting line.

Milestone has managed to deliver a game full of great motorcycles and a superb career mode that will keep you hooked for many hours. On the downside, the developer should consider upgrading its technology, a technology that is responsible for some dated graphics and one of the poorest AIs we've encountered on a racing game.

Although the 5-6 hours adventure doesn’t outstay its welcome it nevertheless doesn’t manage to surpass or even reach the unquestionable charm of Stories: The Path of Destinies. The dramatic murder mystery cannot sustain the interest throughout the somewhat predictable or unexciting reveals and the quite linear progression seems to come at odds with the main “Groundhog Day” storytelling approach. Not be too harsh, it’s a quite enjoyable adventure but we preferred much more the heart-warming misadventures of Reynardo.

Probably one of those remasters that no one asked for, but nevertheless OSome studios deserves some kudos for delivering XXL 2 with considerably refined visuals. It’s a game, though, that is mostly aimed to those players with fond memories of playing in their PS2. Even then nostalgia and the abundance of humorous references could get those players so far before repetition kicks in.

There are myriad ways to customize the Miis and shape their lives through a variety of humorous situations. However, the game moves at a very slow pace, which proves to be its biggest drawback, as players are often left simply waiting for something to happen.

The gameplay in John Wick Hex definitely captures the essence of the impressive choreography seen in the movies, albeit with some caveats. Namely the animation variety is very restricted and, in some cases, seems a bit incomplete. Moreover, the abilities of John Wick are a bit limited and remain as such throughout the game. Nevertheless, it still remains a clever twist in the turn-based genre, by letting the action unfold simultaneously for both our character and the enemies, creating some quite challenging combat scenarios with unexpected depth to them.

An interesting choice in creating a game based in Lovecraft's works, combining a highly addictive gameplay style with a horror packed atmospheric setting and a decent story.

Tiebreak has the potential to become an enticing game for tennis fans, thanks to its large roster of players, official tournaments and events as well as the well-designed Djokovic Challenges mode. However, its lackluster career mode, mediocre A.I. and overall uninspired presentation keeps it from truly shine.

Arise has a charming visual style in the vein of a more simplistic Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, including a somewhat diverse time manipulation element. Nevertheless, the quality between levels is a bit uneven and the developer’s effort for symbolic touches misses the mark quite often.

Modern Warfare 3 is one of the most blatant misfires of the Call of Duty series. Its campaign is lackluster and the overall quality and quantity of its online content gives the impression that it would be much more fitting as a DLC instead of a full-priced game.

A dialogue-based puzzle indie game with a few gameplay twists, a well developed storyline, and inspired and realistic conversations with variable approaches, but with a lack of atmosphere building elements such as voice acting and animations.

At some points The Sinking City shows small signs of the Lovecraftian horror that engulfs the city of Oakmont. Huge edifices of long forgotten deities, gargantuan subsea species and the madness of some of the citizens comes to light in, unfortunately, a few memorable segments. For the vast majority of the game though we go from one dull fetch quest to another to reach a sudden and quite uneventful ending.

A fun arcade take on the WWE world that is plagued by repetitive gameplay and way too many microtransactions.

Post Trauma sticks a little too closely to Silent Hill in its storytelling, a choice that ultimately doesn’t benefit the experience. Even so, it delivers a short but satisfying survival horror experience, never overstaying its welcome and featuring some cleverly designed puzzles. While it adheres a bit to close to genre conventions, that very familiarity might be exactly why die-hard fans of the genre (and likely only fans) will find something to appreciate here.

Some technical issues aside (like the rapid frame drops) Scrat's game is a decent platformer built specifically for young children. It may not be the best game ever or the best 3D platformer for that matter, but it can guarantee some 4 to 5 hours of fun for your kids.

You can't actually say that the first part of the "Chronicles" trilogy is a "bad" game, but at this point the story of the Assassin's series seems like a mess and Assassin's Creed Chronicles China is not offering anything we haven't seen (and in a better way) in Mark of the Ninja.

Feist is a charming dark adventure that unquestionably draws its inspiration from Limbo. Even though it has its merits with its concrete gameplay and nice artistic direction, it nevertheless cannot achieve greatness due to its short length and the insufficient variety of environments, enemies and environmental dangers.

Apsulov is a by-the-numbers walking simulator with pretty, mildly interactive environments, the annoyance of stealth sections and a 4-5 hours story. Be that as it may, we can’t deny that we've had a pleasant visit in the amalgamation of sci-fi laboratories with artifacts and environments inspired by Norse mythology.

For better or worse Layers of Fear 2 follows very closely the steps of its predecessor. Alas, compared with the first Layers of Fear, its story is less integral to the paranormal events that are happening in front of our eyes, leading to a sense of disconnect between our character and the events unfolding around us. Also, the environment of the cruise ship is not quite as atmospheric as the isolated mansion of a deranged painter.

Operation Wolf Returns is a fun blast from the past, at least for the short time it lasts. With replayability being next to non existent it's difficult to recommend it, in its full-price tag, to anyone other than highly nostalgic gamers fond of their arcade memories.

Deadbolt is a joy to play by anyone wanting simplistic yet extremely challenging action, offering a good variety of enemies and weapons. Nevertheless, it falls far behind Hotline Miami, a game with similar “DNA” but with much more personality.

The sequel of Hand of Fate convinced us that its unique mix of card game and real-time combat could be more than a one-shot gimmick, though it still has a long road to achieve an even quality across all its areas. The card side of the game may be vastly improved, but the real-time combat is the part that is still quite underwhelming. Hopefully in the next iteration we'll see the combat receiving the same attention as the card side of the game.

The Last Case of John Morley is a passable narrative noir experience, supported by an engaging story and well-crafted environments. Its brief runtime will likely hold your attention, though it never offers anything particularly memorable in its overall story or especially deep in its NPC interactions. Not great, not terrible, as the modern saying goes.

A-RED Walking Robot is charming and quite unique, putting players in the role of a small mechanical toy robot. Its well thought out level design, using everyday environmental objects and rooms, gives the game a much needed personality. However, its frequent reliance on trial and error leads to unfair situations that more often than not become frustrating.

A rather disappointing sequel, but still a decent entry for those who want to try out the “hunting” game genre.

Void Bastards draws easily the attention thanks to its charming comic aesthetic and to the cel shaded visuals. Moreover, its frenetic pace means that you could spend less than an hour at a time and yet feel like you have a fulfilling experience. Alas, the different enemy types and spaceship designs start to get repetitive a little too soon, changing the sense of excitement to tedium far before the rescue of our ragtag group.

While Draugen never reaches the promised story quality and world building we have come to expect from Ragnar Tornquist, there is still charm and beauty to be found is this secret Norwegian corner of the world.

The world building, the lore and the overall style of Grimshade are excellent and though there is actual tactical depth beneath the simplistic first glance, the game’s pace, excruciating difficulty, unneeded number of battles and unbalanced heroes hinder this tactical turn-based homage to 90s JRPGs from being a truly magnificent effort.

Rage 2 might retain the signature and utterly satisfying shooting of id games, but it cannot overcome the significant repetition of its "map cleaning" structure marred by a startlingly limited number of main missions.

Cindered Shadows brings the Three Houses’ Expansion Pass content to a definite conclusion, but without a bang. While its additions to the main campaign are somehow welcoming, the new story chapter is short and bland. Long-time fans of the series can be happy and excited with the challenging gameplay that has been a trademark of the series, but the overall quality of Cindered Shadows might not be enough to justify a Pass purchase, except to the players willing to experience all of the content Three Houses can offer.

Light Fall’s main gameplay mechanic presents an interesting freeform gameplay, with a pleasant sense of momentum. Unfortunately, even though the concept is quite unique it nevertheless remains just a concept due to its short length, predictable level design and lack of variety.

It is essentially a tower defense game in its more simplistic form, something that is its bigger positive and drawback at the same time. It is extremely easy to build your kingdom and provide tense defense situations, but its simplicity creates many hurdles on the way those defenses could be constructed.

Some nice ideas in level design can’t hide the fact that this overpriced episode offers just a couple of hours of single player content only, with no replayability and no multiplayer.

Crisol: Theater of Idols can be succinctly described as a budget BioShock. That may sound harsh, but few modern FPS games evoke this kind of nostalgic design, and despite its shortcomings, the developers earn the comparison. While limitations in enemy variety and loot are evident, Tormentosa remains an intriguing place to visit and explore.

A highly uneven experience, Code Vein 2 is ultimately saved by its likable characters, clever use of time travel in the story and some tense but fair boss battles. The open-world design hampers the pacing, with drab environments that discourage exploration and uninspired regular enemies. Yet those who stick with it may find themselves genuinely invested in the fate of its central cast.

X-Morph: Defense is a game that manages to translate in a satisfactory way to the Nintendo Switch, bringing the clash between the forces of Aliens and the people of Earth on the go. It should be noted, though, that this version of the game does not offer something new to old players, as it lacks features that enforce replayability and faces problems that result from poor development. X-Morph: Defense is a diamond for the Switch, only rough and unrefined.

It is a functional roguelike that has the added benefit of depicting a nice looking American countryside environment. Although it could last you for hours, the lack of variety in looting, crafting, and different areas hurt the overall experience in the long term.

White Paper Games had the courage to try new things in an era where everything looks like it’s repeating itself and everyone one another. Some development choices and many bugs though keep Occupation from being a great game.

A fighter title that holds promise, but with some issues keeping it behind other interesting games in the genre. A game that fits perfectly in the new console, but needs more support in terms of content to avoid repetition and becoming a thing of the past faster than expected.

Another overpriced DLC for Black Ops II. The maps are well crafted (the "Wild West" themed "Buried" is a definite highlight here), but cannot justify the price tag.

If you are familiar with (and a fan of) the musou gameplay and the overall mechanics of the series, Samurai Warriors 5 will keep you satisfied and busy for quite some time.

Even though it has lots of shortcomings and it’s not suitable for everyone, Fragments of Him deals with sensitive subjects in a delicate way and offers a unique two-hour journey to the human emotions.

The second DLC pack for Black Ops III is overpriced for the content it offers, but if you love the Zombies mode the Zetsubou No Shima map will keep you occupied for quite some time.

Not the best piece of work from the guys that probably know twin-stick shooters better than anyone else. Matterfall is beautiful and visually impressive, but feels rushed and is way too short with limited to no replay value.

Yet again Milestone was not able to deliver a solid, rallying experience. WRC 4 has some great moments, but they are not enough to save an otherwise dated racer.

With heavy inspiration from LittleBigPlanet and the Lego games, Disney Universe offers some enjoyable gaming moments that are suitable only for kids.

God Eater 3 has a nice and pleasant combat system, which will satisfy the fans of the series. On the other hand, if you were excepting something new and fresh you'll be more than disappointed by the stagnation of the series.

If you want to experience a "what if" of an early GTA styled game that is set in Medieval times, Rustler is your only choice. Be warned though, the crude humor and the problematic controls might not be ideal for everyone.

The Annihilation map pack for Black Ops has some enjoyable maps, like "Hazard", "Hangar 18" and the new zombie map "Shangri-La", but overall itʼs just another overpriced DLC.

Moving past the few positives it has to highlight, such as the use of music in the gameplay or some clever representations of pieces of a person's consciousness, the total 6 hours or so that Figment 2 has to offer, can't deservedly win a place among other modern, indie games.

TipsWorks shows overzealousness in copying Dark Souls and Bloodborne to the point that it feels as a complete substitute of those games against which it does not compare favorably. On the other hand, the variety of enemies and bosses alongside a functioning gameplay could make Pascal’s Wager a curiosity for fans of the “soulsborne” genre.

For almost every positive aspect of the game there is an overpowering negative one that drags it down, be it the satisfying weapons, the environmental design etc. Unfortunately the passion of Dambuster Studios can’t hide the fact that Homefront: The Revolution, even though had the fundamentals for a good FPS was nonetheless a product of a highly tumultuous developing cycle.

Vernal Edge seems to put all its heads in the basket of the air ship, in order to differentiate itself, alas, it just ends up being a gimmick without any real gameplay value. Unfortunately it ends up being a bit derivative.

There is not much to write about Munch's Oddysee that hasn't been written. A classic title for the Xbox and a great game in general. The only flaw in this poor Switch edition, is that it provides nothing more than the absolute basics.

It’s a pure beat ‘em up game, with satisfying and fast combat albeit without any effort to provide anything we haven’t seen before. Its repetitive nature goes without saying, raising the guilt part of this guilty pleasure offering exponentially with each passing hour.

It really is just a "mixed bag" of a game because it doesn't know to which audience it refers to. It is never truly casual and certainly not a simulation game. As a result almost no one will truly be satisfied with what Kylotonn delivered.

A webcomic-based 2D point and click adventure that focuses on its adult humor, but offers little in terms of challenge.

Lost in Random mostly benefits from its "Tim Burtonesque" visuals and quirky design, but unfortunately the whole experience is dragged down by a tiring card-based battle system, with cards that are bland.

Unfortunately, South Park: Snow Day! is a very shallow multiplayer game, with overly simplistic story and gameplay. The familiar and welcoming vulgar humour of the animation may be here but it can't help to hide a truly mediocre game.

An interesting and well written story, told through an adventure game created by just two people. Even though it becomes tiresome and repetitive at moments, it has a certain charm and multiple gameplay elements to keep you going until the end.

It's probably the most bland and repetitive DBZ game of this generation, with its only saving grace being the immense roster of characters.

Turbo Kid is a fun metroidvania game and a welcome continuation of the cult film. It ticks all the right boxes of metroidvania design and incorporates the bike in a clever way. Alas, the behaviour of the enemies are extremely derivative and its pixel art is not the best we've seen.

N++ is a strange game. You'll love it or you'll hate it and it all depends on whether you are fond of its minimalistic, retro-like very hard puzzles or not.

While the original Lost Horizon was the closest thing we have seen in an adventure genre "Indiana Jones" revival, its sequel falls short on so many fronts that it is difficult to recommend at its exorbitant launch price.

The recreation of the fall of the Bakumatsu Era at the tip of your sword is as exciting and entertaining as expected, but it seems that apart from a fresh coat of (glitchy) paint, Sega didn’t do even the basic refurbishment to bring properly this game to 2023. Unlike the wonderful job they did with the Kiwami remakes, here it feels more like Sega used the game as a training exercise for its studio to learn the Unreal Engine and simply didn’t bother to invest in anything else.
