Finally, after almost 25years of half measures and mostly mediocre titles, Sonic has finally reached the 3D levels of gameplay it needed to reach. Yes, the pop in is absolutely inexcusable and the ancient gatekeeping grindy methods damage the flow of the game for no reason, but a wonderfully built base exists here, with a highly entertaining adventure in wonderfully melancholic world and a surprisingly well founded story, thankfully clean of Sonic’s annoying 3rd tier friends!

If you want to "play for free", then Age of Empires Online has enough content to keep you entertained for about forty hours. But if you want to play it as a completive "pvp" RTS, the only way to do it is by purchasing the Premium content. If you choose the second way, you will find out that AOE Online has far less content and options than some older AOE titles.

For better or worse Layers of Fear 2 follows very closely the steps of its predecessor. Alas, compared with the first Layers of Fear, its story is less integral to the paranormal events that are happening in front of our eyes, leading to a sense of disconnect between our character and the events unfolding around us. Also, the environment of the cruise ship is not quite as atmospheric as the isolated mansion of a deranged painter.

Lego Horizon Adventures is another entertaining addition to the long list of Lego video games. Code Vein tried to differentiate itself with its anime aesthetic, and at least it partially succeeded in its world building and characters. On the other hand one can’t help but notice that the level design is quite repetitive and disorienting, and the combat system, although with great variety, stumbles in some unfair fights and most importantly in the utter lack of enemy variation.

Probably the weakest and surely the shortest and most simplified addition to the long running and very successful franchise from Insomniac. We hope that this is not the end of the beloved Lombax.

The eccentric aesthetic of Tokyo 42 is its biggest selling point. It’s a joy to run around the skyscrapers and having some fun shootouts. It’s a pity that the camera proves to be our biggest enemy alongside the issue of repetition.

You can never take away the greatness of this series and its games, but with this collection we expected something more than just four games packed together with little to no extra content, like, for instance, the superb soundtracks or some interviews with the creators.

The tower defense design of Warstone is working perfectly and can offer some great and intense gameplay moments, but the RPG and RTS elements are quite shallow and only work as a “dressing” to the overall experience.

Little Nightmares proves to be a great match for VR, translating its dark aesthetic excellently into the format. It’s a very faithful entry that doesn’t try to innovate or offer many surprises compared to the previous games, and its short runtime of around three hours may disappoint some players. Nevertheless, VR immersion greatly enhances the experience and brings its world to life.

Truly the best "real" game PS Move has seen since its release. Too bad it's quite short and it doesn't deliver the full-scale of its creators vision.

Those craving for a portable Naruto adventure will rejoice with the release of the Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy for the Nintendo Switch. Three games covering most of the events of the original Naruto and Naruto Shippuden series, are set to give players hours of fun, battling and exploration. An ideal choice for newcomers and those who want to play Naruto games on the go, which, unfortunately, is not recommended for those who have already experienced previous versions of these games to the fullest.

Loretta is a fine visual novel with well-written dialogues, multiple impactful choices, and a dark plot. Unfortunately, the derivative and overly simplistic puzzles, along with the almost non-existent gameplay, drag down the experience.

Enotria is one of the few soulslike AA games that successfully establishes its own identity. Its world stands out in the genre, thanks to its bright environments drawing inspired by the Italian Renaissance architecture and the beautiful scenery of the Amalfi Coast. Hopefully, in their next game, Jyamma Games will further showcase their great talent by creating more memorable boss fights and increasing enemy variety.

Suda 51 proves again that heʼs a special creator with a strange sense of humor. Lollipop Chainsaw is probably the best "b-videogame" ever created.

Wildlands offers a vast and beautiful open world but not much other than that. The map is filled with endlessly repeatable missions and objectives, the especially problematic cover-system creates frustrating stealth situations and the socio-political infused scenario could very well be considered as blatant propaganda. Coop may make the game just a bit more enjoyable, but it doesn’t alleviate the critical issues in the slightest.

Styx: Blades of Greed is a solid AA hardcore stealth game that may not break new ground in the genre, but in the current drought of AA and AAA stealth titles, it’s more than welcome. While there are some AI limitations and a few bugs that should be ironed out in upcoming patches, the level design is thoughtfully crafted and the stealth mechanics are predictable in the best way, consistent and well implemented.

A highly uneven experience, Code Vein 2 is ultimately saved by its likable characters, clever use of time travel in the story and some tense but fair boss battles. The open-world design hampers the pacing, with drab environments that discourage exploration and uninspired regular enemies. Yet those who stick with it may find themselves genuinely invested in the fate of its central cast.

A surprisingly addictive game that delivers tense and highly challenging gameplay filled with difficult random-generated burglary scenarios. The well-designed steampunk aesthetic should be considered as a major plus for those fond of this art style.

A somewhat disappointing ending for a great game. Ep.4 loses all the momentum that was built in the previous installment and is mostly reduced into a puzzle hunt.

The spiritual successor of Road Rash, Road Redemption, offers tons of unadulterated fun. Many may find its driving too Arcady for their taste, but the rogue-like campaign experience and the tense off-road battles reward the player. The beautiful OST and a very nice old school oriented couch co-op give the game some extra lift.

After the almost disastrous game of 2016, Kylotonn listened to the complaints of the community and corrected many of the problems. If you played World at War, you probably know four of the new maps, with "Moon" being the only new addition. Rezurrection map pack makes its money worth only if you are a fan of the zombie mode.

All and all, Alice Madness Returns is an exquisite alternative point of view of a classical story, given as a twisted gaming extravaganza. The constant platforming can be tiring, but the rich content repays the gamer.

Mario Golf: Super Rush manages to deliver what it promises; a full golf experience, mixed with an all-stars cast of the Mario franchise. Despite the enhanced playstyle and game types that are offered in the game, there are still some areas that require improvement.

Dontnod surprised us for a third time (after the beloved Life is Strange and the charming Remember Me) by delivering a game full of superb atmosphere and a unique take on the “vampire genre”. Vampyr is a game with great design and originality, something that we sorely miss from most modern games.

Although it is not a "VR only" game, Falcon Age truly shines when played in VR mode with the use of Move Controllers. By playing like that you are immersed in an exotic world and really feel the bond with your falcon. Some problems do exist and we believe that the battle system is quite broken, but overall this is an experience that worth your time.

Kaos Studios manage to offer an intense campaign with several memorable moments in what seems to be a very faithfully-realized urban American environment. Unfortunately, the campaign easily ends in less than five hours, making it hard to recommend it to anyone who is not interested in the competitive multiplayer portion of the game.

With a very low price tag and an addictive structure, you can surely overlook its flaws and have a good time with this tactical RPG from Interbellum.

No one would expect that an elephant would manage to be an ideal character for precision platforming but Game Freak manages to pull it off. If only there were more than 18 stages.

This remake of Until Dawn feels more like a remaster than a true remake, despite its notable enhancements. For those who played the original, justifying the purchase of this version may be difficult, although it could be considered the definitive edition for new players.

Sudden Strike 4 is a thrilling Real Time Tactics game, which gives a realistic insight in some WW 2 decisive battles. There is a unique balance among the various units of the Ally, Soviet and Nazi army, which allows for many and different tactical approaches, but is held back by terrible pathfinding, airy skirmish and multiplayer and static, unresponsive AI, to be deemed as classic in the genre.

A dusty relic from a bygone era of open-world game design, Red Faction Guerrilla still manages to impress. Or, to be more precise, GeoMod 2.0 still manages to impress. Nearly 10 years later, nothing has even tried to come close to this revolutionary physics engine, and the chaotic destruction on offer will truly satisfy anyone who enjoys blowing things up.

Shining Resonance Refrain returns after a very long hiatus on the Western shores, in an amazing, shining package. A game with an enthralling story and captivating characters, beautiful visuals and a battle system that tries to function as intended, but suffers from technical issues related to its age. With all-new content and the promise of an improvement to the series, Shining Resonance Refrain is definitely an authentic JRPG adventure that should not be missed by gamers who craved the return of the series.

This came as quite a surprise. Movie tie-ins nowadays are mostly cheap cash-ins, but Under Pressure VR takes the Overcooked formula, gives it a VR spin and, finally, delivers a fun experience that is at its best when playing with your friends.

This new iteration of Death on the Nile includes some clever puzzles, but unfortunately, the positives end there. The incredibly slow pace will certainly turn many players off, while the addition of a parallel storyline feels disjointed and lacks the quality of Agatha Christie's original narrative. All in all, this adaptation of one of the most famous whodunit mysteries is, unfortunately, one of the weakest.

If you're looking for a good turn based strategy game to take with you on your holidays with your 3DS, S.T.E.A.M. -with its unique story and interesting characters- is a great choice.

The Arabian Nights aesthetic provides a very nice and imaginative backdrop for City of Brass’s roguelike action and the whip mechanics provides a suitable personality to its gameplay. Unfortunately, a lot of the upgrades are meaningless and the randomness of the generated levels is more same than it should be for a game that we return again and again in the starting line.

A turn towards a more young audience might alienate fans of the previous games, but that doesn't mean that Spike Chunsoft's newest addition to this spin-off franchise is not delivering the goods.

Even though what we get here is a rich and well crafted simulation of farming life, the technical issues along with some repetition make Pure Farming 18 suitable only for fans of the genre.

Even though the formula is similar to the one used in the beloved Until Dawn, Man of Medan suffers from a poor story combined with equally poorly written dialogue. The multiplayer modes are the highlight here, though, so if you plan on visiting the "Ghost Ship" you should call your friends.

Deliver Us Mars is a truly worthy sequel of the -underdog- Deliver Us the Moon. There is much more effort in developing its characters and the overall story complements and expands the topics of the first game. Expect a slow-burner, hard science fiction adventure and you will not be disappointed.

While doing nothing really new and offering quite a few game modes, the new Mario Tennis from Nintendo is a game as addictive and charming as every other offer from the Japanese company.

A beautiful fairy tale of a daughter that is trying to find her lost father is paired with uniquely designed environments and an enjoyable 2D side scrolling/ action/ adventure/ puzzle gameplay.

Even though the Definitive Edition is a beautiful reimagining of a classic and definite RTS it doesn’t go the extra step to modernize the gameplay or at least fix several issues existing in the 1997 version. The nostalgia factor can drive the experience so much before remembering ultimately the several limitations of this old pioneer.

It's a decent action/ RPG game that emulates well the MMO philosophy and brings to the videogame realm the good times of the TV Series.

Banner of the Maid offers a different narrative of the French Revolution through the Visual Novel aspect and at the same time it provides a decent turn-based strategy game.

While the release of the Isle of Armor DLC puts Game Freak in the right steps of regaining the hearts of Pokemon trainers worldwide, the execution of the DLC leads to a mess, rather than a milestone for the series. The addition of a great Pokemon is, consequently, meritless; that, with the combination of a rather short and unimpressive main quest might lead players away, rather than ensnare them with the beauties and qualities of the Isle of Armor that are seemingly hidden.

A competent 2D brawler with excellent graphics straight out of the comic books and satisfactory action and gameplay.

It has an interesting mix of tower defense and action gameplay, with a quite challenging A.I. that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Too bad the technology it uses is quite old and the story so weak.

Air Twister is a nice throwback to the on-rail shooters of old from the developer of classics such us Afterbuner and Outrun. It's quite pleasant in terms of visuals and music, while also offering good challenge. Be that as it may it is also stuck in the past, not putting any effort in modernizing its gameplay.

A quite interesting old-school FPS, that even though it is dated, it's so addictive and cleverly designed that every new try feels like you're playing a different game.

Space Adventure Cobra is an uninspired, linear platformer whose greatest contribution is simply providing an excellent excuse to discover the classic and highly enjoyable anime it’s based on.

The Callisto Protocol is definitely not an evolution of Dead Space or even a title of equal quality that we wanted it to be. It’s certainly a pleasant experience for horror fans, thanks to the one-note, but satisfying combat, as well as it’s no-frills linear design. Nevertheless, it’s a by the numbers horror title without many (if any) surprises and a crucial lack of variety in enemies and combat/ survival situations.

Rise of New Stars offers a great anime experience by utilizing the unique football match rhythm of the anime series and by using great anime visuals.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is an improvement on all the things people loved in the original game. If it has a fault, it is that sometimes these improvements are just not as big as they should have been.

There may be many technical shortcomings, but it’s difficult not to have fun with its simplistic yet utterly enjoyable gameplay, especially in co-op.

Star Fox Zero is a game that every fan of the series will enjoy, but its lack of effort and technical restrictions keep it from making the long waited transition to modern gaming.

It's more simplified than its predecesor, but on the same time Risen 2 seems to be buit just for hardcore RPG gamers.

It’s not a bad game, though it’s not good either. It stands in the absolute point of mediocrity; a platform game that you’ll finish in less than 2 hours and then you’ll just move to the next one without giving it any more thought.

With its simplicity, cuteness and overall well crafted gameplay The Smurfs: Mission Vileaf reminded us some of the best 3D platformers of the past that have become so rare these days. If you are in a search for a game that you can play with your child, you should definitely check this out.

It may not come with the best aspects game-wise, and the term “Enchanted” sounds like an overstatement for this edition, but none the less it delivers what it’s promising: a ticket to the magical world of Disney.
