Nov 25, 2024Enotria: The Last Song is a very promising debut from a new development studio, and an impressive benchmark to compare future releases to. In a crowded Soulslike market, Enotria distinguishes itself with its unique setting and impressive production values. Combat is satisfying, despite carrying the baggage of a few too many systems with it, most of which can however be safely placed on the backburner. The real star of the show, however, is the level design, which creates a series of showstopper moments that permeate the game’s full runtime and never let a dull moment arise. With its optional story mode, the game offers something for every type of skill level, becoming an easy recommendation for players of all types looking to get into the genre.

Oct 8, 2024There’s a lot of soulslikes out there, but Enotria: The Last Song makes a decent grab for your attention with day-glow brighter than bright visuals and the fresh and engaging setting of Italian mythology. Unfortunately, too many text-boxes and confusing gameplay systems, along with a healthy dose of jankiness, takes the shine off this otherwise colourful soulslike.

Oct 18, 2024Enotria: The Last Song’s stacks of gameplay systems and offbeat terminology make for a fairly convoluted soulslike experience. However, it brings some cool ideas to the table when it comes to combat and traversal. That, and it’s a simply gorgeous world set against a backdrop of Italian folklore, makes for an incredibly compelling experience. The relatively short length compared to most soulslikes also makes it a digestible game that's worth playing at least once.

The clunky combat should annoy me more, but the game’s commitment to the bit won me over by the end. It may not always sing, but Enotria: The Last Song deserves credit for at least being able to carry a tune.

Sep 24, 2024I commend Enotria: The Last Song for trying to do something different in an oversaturated gamespace, but it just doesn’t quite hit the mark. This game needed a lot more time in the oven before being released, but nowadays it's the norm to ship out incomplete messes for a full price anyways right, so what’s new?
