Death Stranding 2 is a sequel that is only half successful, which like a tired courier struggles under the weight of an ineffective and, to be honest, painfully weak narrative component. Despite not fielding revolutions, the gameplay demonstrates a solidity that, even if it does not completely compensate for the shortcomings of the story, at least circumscribes its effects, giving the player a well-assorted and valid game bouquet, which offers a different balance between delivery and combat dynamics, managing to enhance both sides of the offer. We are sure that not everyone will appreciate this drift, but in our opinion the profile of the experience benefits from the more refined alternation between "rope and stick". Nonetheless, we find it hard not to consider Death Stranding 2 one of the few "missteps" - relatively speaking - in Hideo Kojima's career.

With an improved combat system, its brand new jobs and lots of fun, guaranteed by the Sujimon League and the rest of the secondary activities, Infinite Wealth kept us immersed for dozens of hours in its world full of content, testifying once again to the talent of its creators. Ichiban's heroic journey to Hawaii can fascinate, but it is not without inconsistencies on the narrative front and in fact it was the portions of the plot designed to pay homage to the past of the saga - and the figure of Kiryu - that gave us the most intense emotional impacts. As long-time fans we are very happy about it, yet we are convinced that the series must find the courage to look more clearly towards the future. Regardless, Infinite Wealth is a great Like a Dragon, a concentration of fun and madness that opens this 2024 video game in the best possible way.

Cuphead - The Delicious Last Course is the best possible set for Studio MDHR's creature. The new stages are incredibly curated and introduce completely new gameplay mechanics and situations, which blend perfectly with the offer of the base game. And what about Miss Chalice, with her new abilities that - in addition to expanding the playful possibilities of the experience - allow a wider audience to get closer to the Cuphead shootings. In short, in this DLC nothing has been left to chance and it shows, because The Delicious Last Course is always Cuphead but better, if possible.

We'd love to talk about Requiem as a masterpiece, the best of the three most recent numbered titles in the series. Unfortunately, despite a first installment of the adventure capable of achieving excellent results, we can't do so, nor can we hide our bitter taste as longtime fans. This is because the success of the overall experience is partially compromised precisely when more space is given to an icon of the series, the protagonist of an action-horror section that simply doesn't live up to the previous one, though not without its own beautiful moments. We conclude by saying that yes, Requiem is still worth playing, even just to experience its evolved "zombies" and to discover how it looks to the series' past (and future).

Seven years after the release of Kingdom Come Deliverance, we find ourselves closing the examination of its sequel with similar considerations, but to be placed in the context of an overall better epic, supported by writing and a quest design of monumental quality. Yes, despite the expansion of the team and the greater resources available to the project, the sequel by Warhorse Studios once again shows rather evident roughness that, albeit to a lesser extent, prevent the title from fully revealing its extraordinary potential, but the proposal still stands at truly high levels, which make the title a "must have" for fans of role-playing games. The organic nature of the proposal, its unique character and the excellent relationship between quantity and quality make Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 a precious experience, which clearly reaffirms the talent of the Prague studio.

Monster Hunter Wilds marks the beginning of a new era for Capcom's hunting game, offering a very rich catalog of new features and additions that more than worthily open the race towards the final goal of post-launch support: offering the audience the best Monster Hunter ever. Although the structure of the proposal, full of improvements and strong of an extraordinary internal coherence, marks a remarkable change of pace for the saga, more promising than it is possible to express in the context of a review, the technical defects and the content gaps of the proposal do not allow us to attribute to the game a rating fully in line with its potential. Cocoon offers solid gameplay, which develops along a well-thought-out and stimulating learning curve. A system capable of quickly gaining the player's attention, who ends up effortlessly entangled in this unusual tangle of worlds. However, a commendable game design is counterbalanced by a narrative section that fails to captivate the public with equal force. The protagonist's motivations and the epilogue of his adventure struggle to leave their mark at the end of the journey proposed by Cocoon. A dichotomy that will find admirers in lovers of deliberately cryptic stories, but which could generate slight disappointment in players looking for intense emotions. If you decide to accept the rules, the fantasy world created by Itsuno will give you a truly satisfying combat system, extremely creative and full of epic moments. The non-linear quests and an extremely dense map are elements that could have led Capcom's title towards heights of absolute excellence, however the ascent was slowed down by artificial intelligence that was not always performing, some small problems with the balance between classes and some too much cumbersomeness. Final Fantasy Tactics remains a masterpiece: that's an undeniable fact. It began a successful lineage of tactical JRPGs that led us all the way to—to take a look at this in our own home—products like Mario + Rabbids. That masterpiece, however, remains anchored to gameplay and visual logic dating back three decades, with all the pros and cons that entails. Those who decided to rehabilitate Ramza 30 years ago will be eager to retrace that journey; those who, however, want to immerse themselves in the magic of Ivalice for the first time may find themselves faced with the obstacle of time. We still recommend new players give it a try, because Final Fantasy Tactics remains a key part of the medium's history, a knowledge of which is a prerequisite for the last 20 years of the tactics genre.

The result of the studio's latest creative challenge is a brilliant exercise in game design, at the base of a multifaceted and compelling playful narrative construct, blessed with an absolutely majestic artistic direction. Deathloop is a unique game of its kind, which unfortunately is torn from excellence by some rather important flaws. First of all, a surprisingly lazy and anticlimatic conclusion, which ends up revealing some evident gaps in the script. Even on the playful side, not everything works perfectly, especially due to an artificial intelligence that is not very reactive and too erratic.
