    Neon White is a ballet of bullets and death that always leaves you wanting just one more run. There are a ton of levels and powers to master, along with a witty and sincere story at the center. One of 2022’s best games.

    Neon White is an absolutely unmissable video game, capable of putting in parallel a very precise, frenetic and totally skill-based gameplay and a narrative that embraces stereotypes to use them as a picklock with which to dig into the human soul.

    Sitting down for even ten minutes with Neon White makes me feel like I’ve gotten a lot of playing time in. Stages are fast, and replaying them when things don’t go your way doesn’t feel like a drag. The addictive nature of Neon White meant I was going back to the same stages again and again until I was able to ace them. The story isn’t for me, and feels predictable, but I can see how it might hit the right crowd. The easy to learn gameplay, with the unique weapon cards made for an experience I couldn't get enough of.

    The combination of great story, interesting game mechanics and enthusing music is just excellent. I hope Neon White's success will inspire such experimental games.

    Neon White introduces many interesting ideas but arranges them in front of you like items at a garage sale. The stage design is simplistic, the gameplay gets old quickly, and the characters and dialogue feel like they’re about a decade or more misplaced with references to pop culture icons that are no longer en vogue. Neon White is an interesting play but, ultimately, it feels like you’re playing a tech demo for something that is supposed to be much bigger.

It's been a week since I've can’t away from the game, listening to the Machine Girl’s soundtrack on repeat. We are competing with my wife, who will pass the level faster.     This and Hotline Miami were the first games i bought after pulling the trigger on a Nintendo Switch (first console I've owned since the Dreamcast) It's extremely fun, so glad I got to play it. There is a frustrating problem though, if you achieve a really fast run time while playing offline, it won't be counted on the online leader board. It was a major let down since I play in places without Internet access often. After I found this out I put the game down soon after completing it, otherwise I would be still at it!    … Expand
