This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. When you take out all the fan service, what you find beneath is a poor acted movie composed of many separate ideas that struggle to get together. Albeit this, the movie has it's positives like bringing to the MCU's Spider Man the conflicts which the comics' Spider Man faced. This deeper emotional aspect helps to fill the void left by the movie's lack of quality acting. Exception is Willem Dafoe's acting, which clearly stands out as a better one. Tobey Maguire just seems completely out of it while Andrew Garfield tries to bring the Amazing Spider Man back. With exception of the Green Goblin and Doc Oc, the other villains just look like fillers, also Doctor Strange feels completely out of character again as he is the main culprit ot the movie's plot. Preface: I am a massive Tom holland spiderman fan. Say what you will but Homecoming and Far from home are in my top 10 of the MCU. With that said:
This film attempts too much and so too much is rushed. The pacing seems strange to me, scenes where we might expect more exploration and didnt get it. The amount of plot armor in this movie is ridiculous. It tries so hard to be a heart string puller but none of that really illicits a response from the audience. Its like they saw how people reacted to the end of End Game and thought "hells yeah lets PUMP this movie FULL of it". The jokes and gags were funny as always. But instead of it being a light hearted entertaining film, they tried to make it a serious sad film with some light hearted aspects. It almost contradicts the whole character building that took place in the previous 2 movies. I enjoyed it but i didnt love it.
Tom Holland is still a total GC though. Play golf with me!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 1-First of all, watching the old actors come back in their roles and watching their quality performances reminded me of old quality Spider-Man movies.

2-The arrival of the other Spider-Man is very ordinary and the way they show their power is funny, but it seems to me that they are disrespected. The arrival of Tobey's Spider-Man was so ordinary. If 3 Spider-Man is in a beer, how the dialogues have reflected the fantasy of returning very well. But still, I wish we could see the 3 of them wandering among the buildings in the city together, with their own theme music. :(

3-This time, unnecessary jokes were less and there were quality jokes.

4-Beating Doctor Strange, they made that part very simple, I didn't like it.

5-The scene where Andrew saves our Spider-Man's girlfriend was very beautiful.

6-The villains in the movie are not actually bad, it is not true for all super-villains to say that they have diseases that make them bad. Unfortunately, that philosophy is not bad, but well-executed. Especially the scene where Doc Oct came to help was legendary.

7-Sand Man's character was unstable throughout the movie, he was hypersensitive, while he was kind, he suddenly became bad, he was very conceited, brother. I would like to see him being an ally and helping our people. They spent the Sandman.

8-The thing I wanted to see the most was Venom, but they used the character like an extra you know. He came and left a piece of symbiote, what is this?

9-In the movie, our Spider-Man and his lover's relationship was poorly handled, but their separation could have been more impressive if a little effort had been made.

10-The thing I complained about the most in the last Spider-Man series was that Spider-Man was always someone's servant. Like a child, he was always there for their technology support. Like Tobey, he didn't do his own cosplay, and instead of his own money, he was always a hero with someone's support. At the end of the movie, this cycle is finally broken and our Spidey went out to his house and sewed his own costume. Now, it has been returned to the concept of one of us that makes Spider-Man Spider-Man, I left the movie happy in that way, I hope they don't spoil it in future movies.

11-Finally, it's enough to show real realistic blood in those superhero movies, or we're tired of them, like a children's channel, they are trying not to show blood all the time. You don't even realize that the side character is seriously injured. Get out of this head and let those directors, writers and editors go.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

That being said, I am not that. I have been a Spider-Man fan my whole life and I’d compare this movie to Avengers Endgame, in the way that it is a event film that is greatly improved by the consumer seeing all the previous films. Where Endgame fails, I would say is not telling the most interesting of stories, but instead relying on it being a lot of fan service, though it is well done. No way home does have its share of fan service but, at its core it tells a classic Spider-Man story. With lots of emotional moments, that are enhanced by the amazing score. Great villains, and real stakes. Often time with the MCU movies they will cut short emotional scenes to tell a joke. That’s not the case here, when the emotional moments take place they let them sit. I would say I this is a must see movie for anyone who cares about the Spider-Man character. I am biased, as I have stated I’ve been watching these movies since I was a kid. So for me this is probably my favorite MCU film. I’m not blind to the problems. The set up for the whole film is quite weak, and the writing in the first half of the movie is not on par with the second. For me and my experience with the film, I can excuse the mistakes, but I’d understand if others can’t. Expand

Finally a Spider-Man film from the MCU

After having 2 films with Holland as The Iron Spider-Boy FINALLY he becomes Spider-Man in a film that actually IS about spider-man. MCU phase 4 has had a very very rough start with financial flops Black Widow that needing $700m to break even due to the 4 times being pushed back and costing $100m a pop only to bring in just over $500m, on top of SJ suing for $50m, Shang Chi needing $500m to break even only to fall short by $100m end of its run and then Eternals a critical and financial bomb along with China not being interested and most of Europe not being bothered. MCU Phase 4 really needed something big and I have to say Spider-Man No Way Home has done that. Nice surprises and a great finale, easily the best spider-man movie in Hollands lack luster trilogy.

Respects the returning characters while advancing the current characters. Acting is amazing from the returning characters. They don't miss a beat. It would have been higher than 8, but I still have issue with the basic story plot of casting a spell to make everyone forget Peter is Spider-Man. That is something that Fury could have resolved in a day with the help of the Skrulls. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The greatest superhero and movie EVER made to date!
It really focuses on making people having every emotion in film, very dramatic and shows the real meaning of "With great power, there must also come great responsibility".
My only issue is that Thomas Haden Church did not really had that much to say after his appearance in the movie as well as Jamie Foxx, but still they did a very good job at acting and not being boring in there parts of the movie.
I also think that William Defoe did an AMAZING job in No Way Home way better then Sam Raimi's Spider-Man from 2002 first appearance.
Alfred Molina did an AMAZING job as well!
Rhys Ifans was kinda left off (like Thomas Haden Church), but very cool to watch him in fighting scenes and visually!

9 out of 10 for sure!

SPOILERS:

Tobey & Andrew really did a great job in acting and caring for there past rolls (not just trying to act quick and caring only for there paycheck for the movie)! They ware really trying there BEST to be Spider-Man's as well as being Peter Parkers!

I will admit that I was hesitant about this before the film came out due to the nostalgic elements but it worked beautifully. This film isn’t without fault though. Doctor Strange acts out of character here to do the spell for Peter and Ned being really good at making portals before Strange was doesn’t make a lot of sense. Sandman says a line that throws a MASSIVE plot hole into Raimi’s Spider-Man films. It’s very obvious that the filmmakers didn’t know what to do with Sandman and The Lizard. They just kinda hang out in the background and unfortunately the actors for them aren’t doing a great job. I could really pick apart the plot if I wanted to but this film does so much right that I can’t bring myself to do it. Electro is a massive improvement from his appearance in TASM2 and Jamie Foxx is clearly having fun with the role. Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock is great and it feels like he hasn’t left the role. I’m glad that he stops being a villain halfway through and has a hand in helping the hero’s during the final battle. Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin steals the show. He ended up being my absolute favorite MCU villain. Dafoe steps back into his Goblin shoes flawless. His performance can be absolutely terrifying at points. In the apartment scene where he fights Tom Holland, the score becomes incredibly haunting as Holland lands blow after blow while Dafoe laughs manically. It’s haunting and amazing. Speaking of the score, it’s absolutely fantastic. It adds so much emotion to the story and helps with the grand feeling. The light motifs for each character works brilliantly when thrown into the scene. The biggest strength this film has is the death of Aunt May and the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men. Aunt May’s death came out of nowhere and really hit hard when she dies in Peter’s arms. It’s a brilliant scene. Tobey and Andrew step back into the suit perfectly with Andrew Garfield being the best part of the film in my opinion. Both of them bring back their quirks of their Spider-Men and they have their own little redemption moments. Tobey saves Goblin from being stabbed by Tom’s Spider-Man and Andrew saves MJ from death in an absolutely beautiful scene and brilliant performance from Garfield. It almost made me cry to watch Garfield realize that he had redeemed himself and saved someone but in the end, this is Holland’s film and he goes through Hell in this. He loses his aunt and in the end, everyone forgets who he is and it’s brilliant. Holland finally shines in his best performance as Spider-Man here. It’s heartbreaking to see him go through all of this but in the end, when he loses everyone, he looks on the bright side and continues being Spider-Man. It’s what his aunt and friends would want him to do. He makes his own custom suit and swings out to continue being Spider-Man and in that moment, Tom Holland became his own Spider-Man. This film does so much right and I would HIGHLY recommend watching this as soon as possible. Expand

The movie has a very good Spider-Man story that teaches the audiences themes, as well as giving Tom Holland’s character tons of growth and development. The movie has a decent plot with amazing action the final battle is the best. All the villains were pretty cool with Willem Dafoe Green Goblin being the star. And finally the icing on the cake is the two Spider-Man showing up. Expand

No Way Home has a way of sticking with you and I kept thinking about the movie more and more, and I started to appreciate it more as a result. The movie has a lot of problems, the last 2/3 of the movie started to feel less and less coherent, and the ending of the movie didn't really make much sense. However, everyone does a great job with their performances and you can tell that some of the cast was having a lot of fun. While this movie felt like shallow fanfiction at times, it also felt like a meaningful gift for fans of the "Masked Menace" in others. No Way Home is kind of an entertaining mess. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This film isn't bad but it isn't that great either. The story is quite bad; no multiverse film has managed to create a good, interesting story so I am not surprised that this film failed too. The first hour is incredibly dull and uninspiring; it does nothing unique or interesting. The returning villains are somehow swept aside as if they are just playthings. They take no longer than 5-10 minutes to defeat which is crazy considering there was once a whole film dedicated completely to them. Tom Holland's Spiderman isn't this powerful, its just a bit ridiculous. The film gets better in the the second half when the other spidermen come into the film. They really transform the film and create the best moments. Andrew Garfield's and Tobey Maguire's spidermen have amazing chemistry and really improved the film. Tom Holland's spiderman is, simply put, dull compared to the other actors' adaptations. Aunt May's death means nothing; we barely know her so why would we care so it wasn't sad at all. The only part of the film that was sad was when Andrew Garfield's spiderman saved MJ as he was finally strong enough to save someone spiderman loved. Despite these criticisms the film isn't bad; the other spidermen turn the film from mediocre (rating of 5) to quite good (rating of 6). There were some really good moments but the film suffered from a bad story and a poor portrayal of spiderman from Tom Holland. I'm not saying he is a bad spiderman because he's not but his story just doesn't appeal to me, its nothing that hasn't already been seen and is just boring.
Overall, the films ok with some good moments sprinkled towards the end of the film.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. WOW just WOW!!! Although I desperately wanted to share my thoughts on this film here while leaving the theater Thursday night, or more accurately Friday morning, however I refrained from posting my opinions on this film on this site to be seen by a couple of strangers on the internet to give me time for a second viewing and to wrap my head around and process the gigantic scope and size of this film, and boy am I glad that I did. With that brief preface our of the way let's get into the meat of this flick, and in case you somehow didn't notice the label there will be heavy SPOILERS in this review and trust me you want to go into this film with untainted eyes, so read on at your own discretion. Also apologies if the formatting of this is a little out of wack as I'm typing this up on Android. Now when I was going into this film I must admit while excited I can confirm that I was more than a little bit cautious. Both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's franchises came crashing down under the weight of their own lofty ambitions, and this was to be the biggest Spider-Man film yet. Thankfully this film never felt overcrowded or overstuffed, culminating the last 20 years of Spider-Man on film into one massive love letter to the fans. The inclusion of the multiversal villains and yes both Tobey and Andrew's Spider-Men didn't distract from Tom's iteration's personal moral struggle, but they compliment it instead. Now I can't describe the intense feelings of immense nostalgia I felt when we first saw Doc Ock's mechanical arms splitting the bridge as he made he made his first on screen entrance since 2004. Or when I first heard the Goblin's menacing laugh. Or when Tobey and Andrew both stepped into Ned's dining room despite my certainty that they would make some sort of meaningful appearance in the film. The creative team behind this movie show how they are not just laboring away on this film in anticipation of their next paycheck, but how they tool are Spidey fans who have been playing scenarios like this in their heads for years. While the fan dedication of this film is great, it's true heart is in the emotional struggle if Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Now this film pulls no punches, puting Tom's Peter Parker through the wringer finally imposing impactful consequences on the his version of the hero for his noble deeds. Firstly, we see how the worldwide revelation of his identity not only negatively affects him, but his loved ones based on mere association with him. Secondly, we see how his selfless desire to fix it for them by going to Doctor Strange, immature as that decision might be, ultimately only worsens the already bad circumstances he finds himself in by summoning villains who know Peter Park's true identity from across the multiverse. Then, the film as well as Peter, maturely recognize it's ensemble cast of antagonists not only as villains, but also as victims with Holland's Spidey, largely motivated by his aunt's deep influence on him, seeks to save them. Unfortunately in the process, Aunt May, the person who avocated for Peter's kind treatment towards the villains the most, perishes to the Goblin who brings up a moral dilemma stating that those who hold the power have the ability to use it to do whatever they want regardless of the consequences, in stark contrast to the way that he was brought up by May. He starts to wonder whether what she stood for died with her. But before he can lose himself in his bitterness and rage Tobey and Andrew show up to console him in the films most touching scene pointing him back in the right direction. Finally, everyone who was knew Parker has their memory of him erased as it's the only way to mend that fracture in the multiverse that he had unwilling created, while also protecting his loved ones from future heartache by association with him leaving him alone with no support system to lean on as he steps our into the world. Now while this film was emotionally satisfying it is not scarce of problems. The most glaring of them being how casual Doctor Strange is about casting a spell on all of humanity with catastrophic consequences should he screw it up, which surprise, surprise, he does. Although this oversight doesn't inhibit my overall enjoyment of this film, it may come back to bite him when it comes to his continued characterization in Multiverse of Madness and the rest of the MCU. To conclude this rather verbose brain dump, this film manages to tell an intimate and personal Spider-Man story in the midst of a cascade of satisfactory fan that brings the previous era of Spidey films to a close, while looking forward to the characters continuation in cinema. 9/10 Expand

Unfortunately the spell doesn’t quite go according to plan…

You can pick holes in the plot if you really want to, and it’s hard to argue with those saying this movie is largely fan service, but at a time when my interest in the MCU was just starting to wane Marvel have produced one of their best movies to date. Reviewing this movie without spoiling the surprises is difficult to do, so I’ll just say that if you’re a fan of Spider-Man movies you simply have to see this.

Peter Parker- Peter Parker, giving it all his heart, and everything else... - The first thing that comes to my mind is how prodigious the script writing is, masterfully layered, epic on countless levels, and moreover deeply emotional... Peter Parker faces extremely complex choices, going through a big number of ordeals, putting his heart in the front-line all the time... And yeah, it shows you how constantly trying to right every wrong is more than a monumental task for one sole being. Luckily, he has several wonderful supports -all along this chaotic journey- who give their heart to fill these roles in the best possible way, and that, in itself is very touching... But in this movie, the stakes resonate on a wide number of aspects, it isn't at all just about "good & bad", it's a human story (which makes it the magnificent movie that it is) and the hero at the core of all these meanders has to fully embrace his responsibilities... A true hero's journey sadly is punctuated with tragic steps that tell you how right is what you're doing. And indeed, in the end, it all takes you back to this existential question, and its heartbreaking answer : "What did it cost ?" ... "Everything."

Now on a lighter note, the easter eggs and winks to the audience, there are tons of thems and each one of them smoothly flows in the most logical & delightful way with the story (the audience cheers and applaudes on multiple occasions) ; either rewarding you in the process or planting seeds for obvious future storylines to come and develop further down the line... And again, most of these elements have an emotional impact to them, or lead you to some intriguing (and interesting) questions...
What's for sure is that you go through a lot heart-grabbing moments, all along this movie... It has a lot of epicness to it, of course ; but what leaves you in awe is that the emotional aspect of all these scenes is what really leaves you blissfully happy. And when the movie's over one and for all, you can already enjoy all these clever (but numerous) little seeds, eventually evolving in new mind-blowing directions in the future...

How not to applaude this movie, from its great build-up (every character has at least one thing that makes you attached to him and his eventual outcome), the way it's navigates so well between epic sequences and dialogues that add ever more to the moving aspect of it all ; leading you to this legendary last third of the movie, in which anything is a real blast (PS : the two end credits are really worth waiting for).

I'll finish with the quality of the whole piece, from the nicely mastered staging, the pace (2h30 that flow like 1h), the obvious dedication (and passion) that's infused in every scene by the actors (but also by all the team behind the movie ; you can feel it all along) and the dialogs that are a delight... The special effects are once again amazing... The score offers several memorable pieces...
Not just one of the greatest superhero movies ever, but an unforgettable movie, period.

We've waited a long time for this movie to come out, and it's finally here. Judging by the ticket sales and packed theaters, you may have already seen this movie. Let's see what Tom Holland and crew have for us on this record-breaking weekend.

No Way Home is a continuation from where Far From Home left off. This review may contain some spoilers about the previous movies, but it's nothing that you couldn't get from the trailer. Check out the trailer below. Also, what's wrong with you?! Why haven't you seen the new iterations of your friendly neighborhood Spider-man? Shame on you! Anyway, you're here now and it's not too late to catch up on the MCU but, particularly, the Spider-Man trilogy with Tom Holland.

This third episode of Spider-Man just continues the hope that Disney and Sony can figure out these rights so that the MCU can have all of its necessary parts. Here, the viewer of this movie, whether fan or general audience member, can enjoy it. This movie has a nice but interesting mix of nostalgia and forward thinking. We get blasts from the past but also a story that mixes the current with the prospective future. This is clearly what Kevin Feige has been really good at with the phases of the MCU. No Way Home, strangely, had a similar Infinity War feel to it as well. There's a culmination of the years of Spider-Man made into one cohesive story. The story as a whole isn't that great but the execution was excellent. It takes you from the high of highs to the low of lows back up and down like a yo-yo. Plus, there are moments of legit comedy. For those that care, I can absolutely see you catching that thug tear in your eye at multiple moments throughout the movie. Ultimately, the end product just feels good and gives those who want to stay truer to the Spider-Man character hope and relief. This may sound very vague but it's hard to not spoil this movie when it has so much excitement to it.

Now, the cast as a whole is huge. Disney has sooo much money to spend, it's unreal. You have Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, and J. K. Simmons, in the cast and they aren't even the main characters. This cast definitely has enough cash to find a way home. As a whole, there are many poignant and heartfelt moments led by Tom Holland and Zendaya. There are also a couple weird moments where you'll feel awkward, but strangely enough, Spider-Man is supposed to be a bit awkward and offbeat; so, even when things aren't working, IT STRANGELY WORKS. This movie just works. It's Spider-Man to the multiverse max. Full of fanfare with the cast and the storyline and I'm sure there is more to come.

Long story short, this is no Miles Morales Spiderverse but for a live action sequel this is exactly what we deserve. Spider-Man: No Way Home while it somehow found a way to get a bit slow in the middle, the stakes in a single hero movie have never been bigger. The cast is huge. The stakes are huge. The impact on the MCU will be huge as well. Overall, Spider-Man: No Way Home is just a blockbuster you must see with a big box of fresh popcorn.

The movie carries from the get go a feeling of consequence and a farewell to how things used to be. No Way Home is many things at it's core, all of them very well stitched together.

It is, first and foremost, a Spider-Man coming of age story. The story tunnels Peter Parker through a process of growth, making him turn into a man, and learning what's the cost of being a hero. The plot sacrifices it's complexity for the sake of character development. It's a self-contained story that works well on it's own, and much better as part of something bigger, since it carries the impact of many other MCU stories, both from the full lenght movies and TV shows alike.

It is secondly, and for this same reason, the literal window opener for Marvel's multiverse at the movies, as it is the debut of the concept in their feature films. Fans centaintly feel delighted to see this happening, and it brings a solid feeling of moving forward to MCU's story as a whole.

The third thing No Way Home is, feeding on the multiverse concept it helps to establish, a love letter to any Spider-Man fan of any age. Fan service feels well deserved and fit to the story, if only a few times slow or out of place. It feels, sometimes, that Raimi characters feel tired and disconnected to what they used to be in their original appearances.

This movie is one of the best MCU movies right up there with Infinity War and Winter Soldier. Also one of the best comic book movies ever made easily.
