This movie was quite a accomplishment, as it was very emotional and the movie had great action and the story was a great spider-man story. Crazy that Disney and Sony were able to pull it off and make the multiverse work.

Before all the hype, I wanted to see Spider-Man in the movies, and the hype only made me want to see more. I didn't know what to expect, but I certainly expected better than what I saw. In addition to being a snooze festival, it was so cornyBefore all the hype, I wanted to see Spider-Man in the movies, and the hype only made me want to see more. I didn't know what to expect, but I certainly expected better than what I saw. In addition to being a snooze festival, it was so corny and saccharine that I made an appointment to visit the dentist during the film.

The film began to deteriorate the moment Peter Parker (Tom Holland) went to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for a spell to make everyone forget about him. It wasn't a bad idea for Peter to go to Doctor Strange to fix his little revealed identity problem, it was just weirdly dumb of Doctor Strange to actually accommodate Peter. Dr. Strange really tried to make everyone in the world forget who Peter Parker was. It was a massive spell that felt too excessive just to fix a man's problems. The movie went into silly mode as Parker kept interrupting Doctor Strange as he did the spell. The result was a multitude of old enemies from different universes converging on this universe to find Parker. If it was explained, it was poorly explained.

At this point, the film was on shaky ground, but it didn't budge. "No Way Home" would suffer another setback when Parker fought Strange to stop him from sending all these villains back to their respective universes. See, if they came back, they would meet death at the hands of, or because of, this universe's Spider-Man, and this universe's Spider-Man was too moralistic to allow that to happen. No, Parker would fix this so everyone could go home and live happily ever after.

Everything after that part of the movie was immaterial to me in the grand scheme. To me, when a plot is based on a flawed or just plain bad premise, everything that follows is equally wrong and pointless. Not that the things that follow can't be aesthetically cool; they are just empty.

Parker was acting on the fair advice of his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei). By his wisdom, Parker had an obligation to help these poor misguided men, no matter what the exponentially more experienced Doctor Strange said. Doctor Strange wanted to do the most logical thing which was to send each villain back to their own universe and let fate take over from there. Parker, with his oversized heart and undersized common sense, wanted to keep them in his own universe as pet projects until he could fix them and then send them back. Forget that he would actively tamper with the course of events from another universe, massively altering their timelines with incalculable consequences, he simply wasn't old enough, wisdom, or experience enough to know what the best thing to do was. Also, it was a slap in the face to the other Spider-Men. As if to say, "You guys are screwed, I'm going to find a better, healthier solution because I'm a better Spider-Man."

I was so disturbed by this new Spider-Man mission to save these villains that everything after that started to bother me. The attempts at comedy were awkward and grossly bland. The emotional moments were very frequent and long. The last nail in the coffin of this was execution time. Man, they dragged this. I could tolerate a didactic and flawed plot if you explained it to us in a quick and exciting way, but in their attempts to send this great spider-man, we had to suffer through an ocean of tears, an abyss of emotions and an abundance of silence with slow music. Everything was set up for them to restart Spider-Man if necessary, but at this point I could use a break and no more Spider-Men about "home".

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Good movie but there is a lot of plot holes
Pros:
-Very good support casts that really made the movie for me

- reintroduces the villains of the previous Spider-Man’s

-great plot development - includes Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire Spider-Men

-amazing character development __________________________________________Cons: ___________________________________________-Villains for the most part where push-overs. I never felt like that the main character was ever really endanger. I personally felt that Mystero was a more menacing villain even though he had no super powers. On top of that the final battle with green goblin h made him look like a push-over (He landed 3 punches then the main character landed a 100+ combo)

-At the end when Strange wipes everybody’s memory; I thought to myself wouldn’t they still know that Peter is Spider-Man since the Mystero recording still exists and all the news/social media reports.

-How come Ned can use magic out of nowhere and it took Strange to almost die on Mount Everest to learn it.

-How come Ned knew there was only 2 Spider-Man’s after summoning Tobey Maguire and didn’t try to summon anymore Spider-Men.

All and all it’s a solid film and a good addition to the MCU universe.

With the MCU becoming increasingly like a serial TV show, you really do need to stay on top of things in order to get the most out of the film. If you are though, you'll really enjoy this film, as it has heart, is well-acted, respecful and unique in the way it handles the Spiderman franchise.

Still, if you aren't fully committed to the MCU, you'll struggle to get all the nods, references and implications. I'd even say you might miss the gravitas of what's at steak, as this film serves as soft reboot of the MCU Spiderman.

I will add that I feel a lot of the user reviews are a little exaggerated, because if you ignore all the references, the core story isn't that great. Still, it's well executed and sometimes that's all it takes.

It is a movie made by fans, for the fans and is clearly a project made with a lot of passion. It has one of the best stories of any super hero movie and is absolutely full of references not just to the previous Spider-Man movies, but all forms of Spider-Man media to a point where I imagine it would be nearly impossible to catch it all. The acting is on point. The directing is on point. The writing is on point and without spoiling it at all, the ending is a perfect set-up for future Spider-Man movies. Even if you've been disappointed by Spidey's other outings in the MCU, I think this will be the MCU Spider-Man movie for you as it does fix most of the issues people have had with the other MCU Spider-man movies. There's also a lot of really good action scenes with some of the best fight scenes of any modern media. This movie is really the first chance Tom Holland hays really gotten to show his abilities in hand to hand combat and it's fun to watch. The music is also entirely perfect. Someone really put some work into the sound track. Speaking of things someone has put work into, someone REALLY did their research for this movie. Every character feels well researched and well developed, including all the characters from the original trilogy of Spider-Man movies and the Amazing Duo. I imagine that as this movie was written, someone had to rewatch those movies quite a few times as this movie gets everything from them right. Even some common Spider-Man related memes are referenced several times through out the movie.

However, I did say this movie was nearly perfect, not absolutely perfect so clearly there are a few minor flaws and I really only have a few issues with it. The lighting in the final fight scene certainly could be a bit better and it's weird to see only 5 villians when they could have easily included a 6th to make it a sinister six movie. I feel like Dane DeHaan's Green Goblin from Amazing Spider-Man 2 would have been the perfect inclusion, particularly to see him interacting with William Dafoe's version of the character. I also never noticed the original Spider-Man theme song in this movie at all, which was a bit of an odd choice given the amount of fanfare this movie has. All of these are very minimal issues though and some may come down more to my personal tastes than the quality of the movie.

All in all, this movie might be the closest we'll ever see to a perfect movie. For any fan of Spider-Man, this movie is a must watch, but I don't need to tell you that. If you are a fan of Spider-Man, you've probably already seen it.

Also bringing in Hannibal & JB Smoove for a comedy scene and then giving them those lines is a travesty. You could’ve put those two on set with no lines and they’d have been funnier.

Since his identity was compromised and the public scrutiny has destroyed his life, he goes to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to help him return to anonymity. Of course, things go wrong and all sorts of surprises enter this world from other universes. The structure follows the typical storyline, but ramps up with extra villains and heroes. Holland once again exhibits his charisma and he’s surrounded by a cast of assured actors whose chemistry (sometimes comic) is a bonus. The pace never lags until the final conflict, which drags on too long with much of the usual staging that looks more like a videogame than reality. Fans should be thrilled at the meta revelations, while everyone else can expect more of the same for this series. NOTE: Sit thru the credits for a teaser for the next Dr. Strange film. Expand

Starts off strong but then kinda stumbles in the second half with an overabundance of nostalgia bait and memberberries.

The premise is great: Peter and his friends suffer from the consequences of Spidermans identity being revealed. So in an effort to reverse this Peter asks Dr. Strange for help and through a series of mishap causes villains from different Spiderman universes to appear.
I won't spoil the rest of the movie but there certainly was an interesting twist roughly halfway through the movie.
However in the end the movie leans so heavily into moments of cheesyness and "remember this?" situations that it brought down the whole experience to a very underwhelming and frankly quite stupid finale (let's just say some characters come off like complete morons).

We see, for the first time in web head movies, great consequences and, with that, a maturation being built, but in a way that doesnt change the essence of the main character. In the main subject, it is also built a necessary admirable drama and, in addition, it includes a light comic touch to the film, making it even better. One more positive point is that the character development, in general, is mainly more worked and, even so, it doesnt lose the focus of the character played by Tom Holland. This movie is a gift to the neighborhood friends fans and the general public. It can easily provide unusual experiences. Juxtaposed with films of the same genre, it is, really and without a doubt, one of the 3 best.

Note/opinion: Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) would rank third in the best superhero movies of all time. It would be right behind Avengers: Ultimato and Avengers: Infinite War.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To be honest this movie did alright i would consider that this is not my most favourite mcu movie out there but i don't hate it at all, unlike other people i don't like the two previous movies especially "Home coming" but i was wrong all along cause this trilogy is the origin story of Tom Holland's spiderman. The rating score for this movie is high because of course cause this movie is just another overhyped mcu movie just like what Endgame did in 2019. I must say i don't dislike it at all because they did good with the fan service here and i think im gonna rewatch it when it's streaming on Disney+, but for some reason some part of the story is predictable in the trailer, the moment where peter is trying to catch the goblin grenade and aunt may is there in that same area i knew it that of course she's gonna die and yes i predicted it which is funny consider that it's the major spoiler of this movie. But in the end this is my favourite spiderman movie of them all on this trilogy and yeah can't wait to see spiderman back again in the theatre's later, a job well done. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Amazing movie! Something Spider-Man fans never thought they would see on screen, and it is still surreal! I feel as if Tom plays a great portrayal of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. This movie shows the best acting out of Tom across the three movies, and his emotions stand strong. I think also with seeing the other adaptations of the previous Spider-Men all in one movie can stop the comparison and bashing of the three actors. Seeing them together and how they interact with each other shows how they are the same, but also different. Everyone complains about how one actor doesn't play the role to a "Comic book accurate" Spider-Man, and that is a valid point. I feel as if it brings more diversity to how people see Spider-Man. In my opinion, to rank the three actors that played the role, they can each be interchangeable.
Some gripes about the movie is that I never got attached to MCU Aunt May. Even in Homecoming and Far From Home, I feel as if she was barley there. the only thing I can think of about Aunt May is that she's attracted to Happy. In NWH she was very important part and had the most screen time out of the three movies. With that being said, I didn't really care for her death. of course it was a sad I will admit, but I could not connect for some reason... until she mentioned the "Great power comes great responsibility" line. I say this is relevance to when Tobey and Andrew explain how they lost loved ones in their own movies and explain that with being Spider-Man, it is inevitable that a loved one will be lost. In my opinion, I feel as if that's the most significant thing about Aunt May's death.
Another is that this movies has a lot of characters for good and for the worse. Mainly on the villains. I feel as if the Lizard and Sandman had little to do with the movie. not to say they played a bad role or they sucked in the movie, but if they weren't in it, there could have been more screen time given to other characters.
Lastly, I think that Marvel provided too much information on this movie before it was released. If you're a big Spider-Man fan like me, every other week you were looking up videos and articles for how the story of NWH was going to pan out, also if Andrew and Tobey were going to be in the movie. The hype began to run down the more information I knew about the movie. It felt as if I knew 70% of the movie. Of course leaks, and rumor's are inevitable, but with the trailers, I feel as if every single villain didn't need to be shown, to add an element of surprise.
Those are just some nitpicks, nothing that distracts me from not liking the movie. the fact that Tom has empathy for the villain, and wants to cure them is a nice idea. Again seeing the other Spider-Men was something I never knew I wanted. the conclusion is great as well! Tom decides to go through with the spell and have everyone forget him. as he goes back to Ned and MJ he decides not to reveal himself for one it might be hard to persuade them to remember a person they don't know towards the end of the movie, and two, he knows the consequences of people knowing his true identity. Can't wait to see what's in store for the next movie.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is a flawed but good fan service-based movie.

SPOILERS

At this point you've probably heard this already, so here it goes: many old faces return from older Spider-Man movies, including Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their respective versions of Peter Parker from alternate dimensions. They even hinted at Miles Morales eventually showing up in the future. My only complaint is they didn't include the japanese Spider-Man, from the 1970s japanese TV show :)

Also returning are Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock from the Netflix Daredevil series, Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, and J. K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson in small roles. Other returning characters are many of the villains from the old Spider-Man movies (Doctor Octavius, Norman Osborne aka Green Goblin, Sandman, Lizard and Electro). But no MCU Spider-Man villain (Vulture, Scorpio, Shocker, Mysterio) makes a return.

For all the fan service that went into this movie the plot is a complete mess though. Starting with Tom Holland's Peter Parker wanting to make everyone but a few friends forget he is Spider-Man with help from Dr. Strange, Parker messes up the spell and ends up almost destroying the Multiverse. In the end Parker decides to let go and have everyone forget about him in order to save reality. The theme of the movie is cool in theory (the burden of what it takes to be a hero, super or not), but the execution is bad.

The action is poor, too. Only the initial battle of Spider-Man and Doctor Octavius is good, afterwards it's sub-par.

But the best part of this movie is surely the return of Maguire and Garfield for an extended, last hoorah. Watching the 3 Spider-Men in action is cool, just as it was in the animated "Into the Spiderverse" movie. But there were no cool scenes and action written to really take advantage of them. At least the movie has lots of heart overall.

This movie ends up making Spider-Man independent from his previous mentors (Tony Stark, Happy Hogan, Nick Fury and Doctor Strange), which is something that has negatively influenced Peter Parker across all the MCU Spider-Man films. Let's hope the next Spider-Man trilogy will be more of a real, independent, confident, and resourceful Spider-Man.
