    Is it fun? Yes. Is it in a playable state? Kinda. Should you wait until the patch that fixes the stuttering and FPS issues comes out to buy it? Yes.

The Lands Between consist of beautifully artistic scenery and level design, alluring incentives for exploration, fluid combat, and many diverse, challenging bosses. TheA masterpiece based upon a foundation laid by George R.R. Martin, and further developed by director Hidetaka Miyazaki, and the development team, From Software, Elden Ring has captivated me unlike any game has before. The Lands Between consist of beautifully artistic scenery and level design, alluring incentives for exploration, fluid combat, and many diverse, challenging bosses. The narrative is firmly present within the environment yet little is mentioned of it, thus allowing for some extrapolation by the player. The more tense combat encounters are accompanied by Yuka Kitamura's masterful work as a sound designer and composer, which has been developed throughout nearly a decade of work on other similar games by From Software. Though its identity is distinctly its own, Elden Ring nonetheless shares many similarities with its predecessors, the Dark Souls trilogy and Bloodborne, and truly feels like the culmination of From Software's work on them. Of the many video games I have tried throughout the last decade, my experience with Elden Ring is confidently my favorite.     Es un juego increíble, yo lo he jugado por 8 horas y no he tenido problema alguno, es cierto que la hierva a veces muestra poping, pero creo yo que es algo minúsculo en comparación con lo apasionante que es el juego, lo diverso de sus criaturas y lo mucho que se disfruta el ir evolucionando gracias a la exploración.

    Jogo porco de uma produtora preguiçosa, os gráficos parecem de início de geração do Ps3 ou Xbox, pop-ins a cada 2s e fora a terrível performance principalmente nos consoles de última geração e PC. E o pior é essa mídia especializada (comprada) dando essas notas altas... Lamentável!

    Increíble juego, soy nuevo en este tipo de juegos, y como es lógico es complicado para gente nueva, pero dedicando tiempo, no tanto, y buscando en el mapa, se te hace muy entretenido y tiene u a jugabilidad muy interesante y divertida, muy recomendado.

    Save your money. Dated, archaic combat system. Tons of reused assest from other souls games. Nice, awe inspiring open world with nothing in it. The world is barren, but nice to look at. Armor and weapons are few and far between. Ocean wide and a puddle deep.

    Ignore the haters, no way should it get less than a score of 8, I have logged around 15 hours and yes there are some slight performance issues (Xbox series x) in very detailed areas and there was some initial logging in errors, however this game for me delivers and is utterly breathtaking.

    Started playing on the night of the release and im almost 40 hours in, i have seen many reviews and was really hyped for this game. Im a big Fromsoftware fan and the souls series, this game in no different. The game is Insanely big, spend the first 30 hours in the first 3 zones taking my own path doing everything i can find in every zone before taking on the main boss. I have seen the reactions of people having a hard time with the first big boss (margit) which wasn't the case for me after spending the first 20 hours in the first 2 zones i easily defeated margit, and i feel like this is how the game should be tackled, exploring is a big key to succes in this game and if this isn't something you like then this might not be the souls game for you.. the game is massive and to be honest will be sad when my journey ends at the end of the game.

    I had a couple of issue's with the horse controls and are wonky at times, the fall height also has its issue's..
    FPS issue's on XBSX are horrible some times when its rains the FPS dips belows 30 sometimes, also had some boss fights which weren't ideal at all making dodging a mess some times getting me killed.
    This might be an issue because i outleveled the zones and took my sweet time exploring but the game feels alot easier then other titles, bosses seem alot easier. I had a couple of bosses in my 40 hours play through that took me around an hour of trying but that was about it. DS3 took me about 2-3 hours for bosses to finish (sulyvahn)    … Expand

    Trust me, even for non-soulsborne players this is a must-have. The performance issues you read about are mostly    It's amazing.     Elden Ring is a dated looking poorly optimized game with interesting and fleshed out character build and combat mechanics that only seems to serve the niche of gamers who like the soulslike formula. I believe this game having a rave metacritic would falsely give the impression that it's appealing for masses of casual gamers hence my review.

    As a fan of open world RPG genre carrying many other responsibilities which obliges me to not be able to spare extended stretches of time or entirety of my intellectual capacity to a video game, I found this game to be a poor experience.

    There are a few critical points Elden Ring ignores whether it's intentional or not. Game experience is very unguided. You will likely have bad time figuring out how to progress the story or even what the story is, and consequently you will find yourself wandering around weak mobs in a monotone routine if you don't enjoy that kind of tedious exploration. World is quiet desolate and falls into pitfalls Ubisoft RPGs are prevalently considered to fall into while having no cities or areas bustling with energy many other RPGs offer.

    Accessibility is very poor. Bosses are quiet challenging to the extent that even an experienced gamer who just doesn't have experience with genre will have nightmare time unless one enjoys attempting a single boss fight for more than a dozen time especially given that there are often no tooltips or guidance on how to make certain fights easier given lack of difficulty options for user to choose. This often requires player to memorize move set of the boss while dying numerous times where poor optimization causes big problems as frame drops hinder the application of this memorization as well. This is in addition to the fact that game requires almost impeccable gaming reflexes to apply any of the move set memorization to an efficient enough degree to win these fights.

    Overall, I can see the attraction of this game for the fans of this genre but it is not a game that deserves the acclaim reserved for experiences that can be enjoyed by majority of the overall open world RPG genre like the Witcher 3 or Red Dead Redemption 2 do deserve.    … Expand

    I haven't been this engrossed in a game for a long time.

    I loved dark souls 2 and bloodborne. I couldn't get into dark souls 3... Maybe I just didn't have the time.

    The open-world has been handled perfectly. If I had any complaints, it might be that there are some things they've done to make the game easier for open-world play, like the number of campfires/graces, that seems excessive.

    I looked forward to this game for years, but the late game bosses just make it completely unenjoyable. It feels like beating them has nothing to do with skill or learning, but just dumb luck. It feels like From needs to recalibrate their expectations for boss design. I'll probably just play the first 70% of the game or so going forward, but I'm not even sure if I'll stick around for that.

    I feel so bummed out about this game. I stayed up late to play it when it released, and felt like a little kid again with how hyped I was. Such a genuine let down to not be able to play through the whole game and enjoy it.    … Expand

The character creator is good, your character isn’t the Flat character creator that all Bethesda Games character creators are. The fights are good and interesting. Not overly difficult if you level up and explore the world for better gear and weapons, but why else would you be playing an RPG. Combat is simple and fair most of the time and by fair i mean if you get hit you get punished, that's what these games are about. Sadly because that mechanic is so old and stale once you master moving and taking small bites you can really own this game. Its good but not as good as some other RPG'S over the years. Like Dragons Lair in the arcades as a kid a lot of people got pissed off the game was so hard and wanted their Quarters back. But if you just learned the patterns to the dungeons the Quarters started to go really far. If people were still buying physical copies of games Elden Ring would have its own pre-owned bin at every location. Solid 7/10… Expand

    Copy & paste bosses throughout the game, every boss except 3. Bosses copied from other souls games, & the AI & hit boxes are terrible. The input lag is really bad, yet few souls players call out from software about this. Maybe delusional players, because they love the " challenge" of a truly broken game.

    May seem rude but my entire playthrough was built on sword of night and flame. I know it was OP but it made this game enjoyable for me. It didn’t hurt anyone else. All my upgrades were poured into that build along with how my stats were. I can reset stats but the upgrades I used on the weapon and other things have made it a waste. I will most likely start the game over and eventually itMay seem rude but my entire playthrough was built on sword of night and flame. I know it was OP but it made this game enjoyable for me.     I7 10700K + RTX 2070 SUPER.
    When I fight with the boss, I don't get 60FPS.
    It's really a tremendous optimization.
    I can't believe it's a 2022 game.
    I don't support 21:9 monitors and 144Hz!
    The server has many errors.
    Multi-play is often disconnected!

There is no story, IF you are expecting a Horizon: Zero Dawn story where the characters are engaging then look elsewhere. The combat is bad and most of the enemies are frustrating. I enjoy a challenge but their is a difference between a challenging game and a frustrating one.     I dont see how so many critics are giving this game perfect scores. You will spend a lot of hours grinding to level up and your character will still be weak. I don't see the point in leveling up my health by 50 levels and I can still die in 3 hits. This game is a 7 at best.     I've registered on MetaCritic only to give a fair review for PC version. This game is so bad. An indie game with such basic issues would receive 0 points, so this is how much I give it. Bad controls, outdated graphics, input delays. Lacks concealed as "being hard to play", and strangely high critics reviews.

Its mainly the terrible boss design, I get killed at full health in two hits while taking 30 minutes to recover from the last attack! And to just arrive at the boss fight, you have to deal with a plethora of nuisances that deal unreasonable amounts of damage. And by late game, you can only really level up your character and weapons by killing the bosses that kill you in less that 10 seconds. What really aggravated me and lots of other Elden Ring players was the Godskin Duo, the most annoying boss in the entire game. They are near impossible to fight without dying immediately. I know Elden Ring has one of the largest and most detailed maps, good graphics, and is a great challenge, but it all comes down to how much fun and joy you can have. There is no fun and joy in this. Zero. It is mentally draining to play. You should only buy Elden Ring if you an absurd amount of time on your hands and if you hate yourself.    … Expand

    It's surely is one of the best games in the last 10+ years. Amazing music, story, combat, and lore. I 1000/1000 it because it was so fun. Very rarely would I say a game is perfect, but it pretty much is.

    I have never played a FROMSOFTWARE game before and I usually don't like hard games but I now have 70 hours in the game and I am still only 80% through the game. There are so many new areas to explore and over 200 bosses. All in all I love this game.

    No es un juego para todo el mundo, despues de 60 horas de gameplay he decidido abandonarlo, no por dificultad, sino porque quien mucho abarca poco aprieta, es el caso de este juego, demasiado largo en mi opinión...

    Tal vez no este en el momento de meterle 100horas a un juego, y en un futuro me parezca la obra maestra de la que todos hablan

    The best game of the year, mechanics, lore, world, enviroment, boss fights, weapons, magic, etc. I think the OW not the best for this genre but i enjoyed it for 3 month. Waiting for the DLCs.

    Elden Ring was my first FromSoft game. I had heard about soulslike games before, but wasn't exactly sure what it was about. I had the impression the games were difficult and provided quite a lot of challenge.
    When I bought Elden Ring I was prepared to die, a lot, while learning the mechanics. However it wasn't only the build variety and the funny combat situations I found myself in that    Elden Ring was my first FromSoft game. I had heard about soulslike games before, but wasn't exactly sure what it was about. I had the impression the games were difficult and provided quite a lot of challenge.
    When I bought Elden Ring I was prepared to die, a lot, while learning the mechanics. However it wasn't only the build variety and the funny combat situations I found myself in that were the cream of the crop. It was the atmosphere, the main story, the NPCs stories, the bosse's unique personalities and traits, the landscapes that stretched as far as the eye could see, the long and solitary rides with Torrent to places unknown (and way above my level).
    Then, there were the caves, catacombs, tunnels, graves and all the underground areas that made for an intense sense of exploration, danger and reward. It progressively felt that the game was released with way too much, so much was the content to get into. The map was enormous, overwhelming, and I so much enjoyed it that I didn't want it to end.
    In terms of replayability I prefered to go through smaller and contained legacy dungeons than going through the immense open areas and all the dungeons once more. I ended up repeating some in subsequent playthroughs.
    All main bosses were memorable to me. Malenia was the most challenging boss I ever fought. After I beat her I went into co-op and helped others beating her too. It was such good fun finding a nice group and savouring our victory together!
    To wrap things up, Elden Ring was not only the game of the year to me, but also one of the best games - if not the best game - I ever played. It was the game I needed to play, and it came exactly at the right time.    … Expand

    Despite some annoying performance issues, Elden Ring is a masterpiece. The combat, enemy variety, exploration, music, and open world are top notch. I’ve been playing it daily across all platforms alongside other games all month, and look forward to doing that all year as I try new builds, help friends, and try to do everything I want in this triumph of a video game.

    Elden Ring rewards your curiosity in many ways, be it items, runes or a pathway to another area, but mostly it’s a story to tell your friends when you are sharing tales around the bonfire. It does not force feed tutorials down your throat, but instead it leans far the opposite way by not telling you much at all and lets you explore and find things out on your own. There is no true quest log, no points of interest on a map or no arrows pointing you in the right direction, so there is a good chance you’ll miss some of the best caves and areas of the game. Because of all of this, Elden Ring is forcing me to find all of that out on my own and it is one of the most rewarding games I have ever played. I will continue to explore the Land Between for many hours to come. I’m just not in a hurry.

    Elden Ring manages to draw the player into a fascinating world for many hours, with refined gameplay that fits perfectly with the freedom granted to the player. A sumptuous but imperfect work, which fails to completely overcome some of the historical flaws of Hidetaka Miyazaki's productions. Flaws that, however, can't diminish the scope of a masterpiece destined to leave an indelible mark on the videogame world and to set new standards for the souls-like and open-world genres.
