    I start by saying that i never played a "soul game" except for Sekiro and i loved it. I am playing on Xbox series S with performance setting (not the graphic one) and i m not having any issue with frame rate or bugs or glitch. Until now i played Elden ring about 18 hours, so probably my point of view can't be completed. Exlporation is amazing, in every corner you will find secrets. There are infinite type of enemys every one with different fight style. Character customization is awesome, same for skill points. The other thing that i am loving is that this game is really huge, so if you are buying It you will play at least for 100 hours to finish It totally. 99 % of the games After 20 hours are done, and after they steal money with DLC...
    My only critic is the absence of a guide that help to understand some things of the game, for example i had to watch a YT video to understand how to summon spirits or how to switch Blade to 2 hand. I don't give 10/10 vote because the story in a game like is none-esistent (in my personal opinion), and even because perfection doesn't exist.    … Expand

    I love the feel and look of the world. That’s where the good ends. The gameplay and camera controls are really bad.

    So the occasional framerate drops are enough to give this game a 0 for some people. The game is a masterpiece yet people act over the top about stutters which very rarely occur and give the game zero credit. Grow up and give the the game the score it deserves. No game is perfect and in the case of this game the performance is the only flaw.

    Network failure at launch during preorder for Xbox, comes with bugs. The land is uninspired, dark and bare, with nice character model details that just blend with the dark colorless world. It feels boring real fast, same kill animations time after time, Exploring is encouraged with finding more on how to plat the game but dang..... It's not something that feels rewarding.     Story is virtually non-existent they were happier than hell to plug George R R Martin's name all over the marketing materials, but I'm not sure what he did. About as much work as he does on his own series I'd surmise, which is NOTHING. You get what amounts to lore dumps on scrolls and flavor text on items passing as a "story." There's no major narrative structure.

    The "revolutionary" open world is hollow, lifeless, and boring. I've seen more intriguing open worlds in PS3 games. Speaking of PS3 games that's basically what you're getting here in the visuals department. I guess the AAA industry is so exhausted from bribing publishers and youtubers to give them good scores they don't even bother with the graphics anymore. Art direction is however stunning, seems to be where they spent most of their time.

    Gameplay is seriously bogged down by numerous bugs and technical issues. Frame rate drops, save crashing, stuttering, janky animations, clipping errors, you name it this game has it. I guess all the 10/10 reviews are based on where the game will be in 2 years once they fix the bugs? That's some optimism for you!

    As an xbox player I have to say that I am extremely disappointed. the performance is extremely bad and i had a lot of crashes at the beginning, which reduced a bit over time.

    FRAME RATE DROPS AND GRAPHICS AREN'T AS IMPORTANT AS THE GAMEPLAY. This game is amazing. The story, the music, the art style, the gameplay itself is all absolutely amazing. If you are debating on getting this game and love other Fromsoftware games: GET THIS GAME!

    It's incredibly fun, has good stealth, lots to do, great co-op and A LOT of fun. Seriously, it's the best game I've played in years.

    I'm absolutely loving the game. There are way more bosses in this game than in previous Souls games but it has a better quality of life updates. For example, all bosses have a very close respawn point so you don't need to walk a mile back to the boss that killed you. That by itself makes the game much less stressful but still being hard.     My first Soul's game, and I absolutely suck. But I don't care, the lore and imagery are astounding. I'll keep muddling through to get as far as possible.

    Have experienced no performance or save issues using a series x.

    I'm writing this after the nerf of march 17th. They have made a lot of builds useless, wasting a lot of time and materials creating this builds, now they are gone.
    The game was pretty good for a souls game, very addictive, but now, they have just killed any will I had to play the game. Why waste time creating a build if they will just nerf it when it works?

    I’m on the Series X and I haven’t had any of the stuttering problem these people are having and I’ve had the game since day 1. The game is epic. People that complain about the graphics have to understand that this game was in development long before the new systems were announced. So bear that in mind. With that said: the game is beautiful. If you liked Skyrim, Witcher 3 or any game like that you’ll be in love with this one.… Expand

    The Game is "MUST PLAY" on every system but not on Series X… WHY? (even if the score is lower on PC version)

    But technically it's not perfect, need more patch to have 60fps on Series X

    This is a master piece, a great game like other studios can't do. No micro-transactions, no dlc, no loot box, no NFT, just a GREAT video Game!

The only reason I give it a 9 and birth a 10 is the performance issues; it’s not very well optimised on series x. The ray tracing mode doesn’t look any different to the performance mode… apart from the frame drop, frame rate is a bitThis is a pretty awesome game.     I also think that the dialogue and story elements are too sparse to make a cohesive feeling story. However, it’s a fantastic and well designed open world. The enemies are original and imaginative. I can see why people think they’re cut and paste, but that’s the point of the souls borne games. You learn the patterns and apply your style to each enemy as they present themselves. It has an original feel, although it’s in the dark souls format. No micro transactions or crowbarred in multiplayer. It’s a genuine, honest to god single player experience. It’s got no cynical angles to it. The grind is real but balanced.

Sometimes it is extremly hard, but if you dont want to make that strategy, you can level up in elsewhere and get back later. I hope, that From Software will make more of this level of games.     I can't rate this less than 7 because there's clearly a quality game here, but the impenetrable design and frustrating experience makes this a pretty miserable experience. After 20 hours in Limgrave and increasingly resorting to online guides to find a way to progress, I've had enough.

    Objective problems: -Hitboxes are not good.    Elden Ring is a totally average game. Don't believe the trolls and the toxic community talk. However, Miyazaki and the Souls team is still making the same mistakes.

    Objective problems:

    -Hitboxes are not good. There are times when it reminds me of the DS2.
    -Boss designs are very unbalanced. They didn't really work well with many bosses.
    -The game gets too repetitive. Open world exploration is nice, but it gets boring quickly.
    -There seems to be a lot of items, but in the end, a few items are the most useful. The game forces you for make to broken builds. Because some boss designs require it. All builds look alike. For example, more than half of even PvP uses blood builds.
    -Optimization is still not fixed and every update is getting worse.
    -Spells are powerful. Playing spell builds are more advantageous in many ways.
    -Camera angles are not good. It really causes trouble. When the number of enemies is high, you cannot control field of view.
    -Lore quality is definitely a controversial topic. However, it has the same lore in other Souls games. Only their names have changed. George R. R. Martin is just PR work.
    -Enemies are just based on nonstop spawn attacks with endless stamina as like most of bosses.
    -Many of the bosses repeat themselves. Most bosses are either the same or reskin version.
    -The hit feeling is not good. Especially the bosses don't even react properly to your attacks.
    -It has a toxic and cancerous player base.
    -Artificial intelligence problems. A real disaster.
    -It is a headache for some attacks in the game to pass through objects.

    Conclusion:

    This game is not a masterpiece. Not on a new ip. It's just Dark Souls 4 with open world.    … Expand

    First of like to mention, I'm on Xbox series X. I haven't had any problems that people mention, framerate or otherwise. I bought digital, and have it installed directly to xbox console. In the past, I learned not to let games upset me. I would now normally turn off the game and come back later. I will not break another controller or TV.     El mejor juego del estudio FROM SOFTWARE. En mi opinión se alaba la narrativa en exceso (está fragmentada y presentada de forma caótica). El resto impecable, menudo juegazo. Sin darte cuenta puedes llevar 100 horas y no haber hecho ni la mitad. Es un juego redondo.

    Muy buen juego, el mundo abierto es bastante divertido de explorar, me encanta que hayan mezclado mecanicas e historias de los antiguos juegos de la saga souls. Los NPCs hasta ahora son muy interesantes. Mucha rejugabilidad sobre todo para probar otras clases y hacer pvp o pve. El sistema de armamento de las cenizas es muy divertido.     gran juego, lo malo es la dificultad artificial que tiene a diferencia del dk3 y sekiro que eran perfectos en ese sentido.. Aun asi es un buen liquidador de horas y te mantiene al vicio.. es un dark souls 2 (2) pero mejorado.

    Honestly that is all the bad. Everything else is perfect to a T. Ranni is so cool! The other NPC's are all cool too. They definitely did a Dark Souls open world the right way.     Finished it on all consoles now. I cant remember how often I finished this game already. I have already over 2 thousand hours in it. It is teh best game ever. Easiest Goty ever.

    By far the worst souls game ever made, the open world is extremely boring and full of copy+paste content. There is no fun way to traverse the open world. Boss fights are low quality and again a lot of them are copy+paste, I am talking about big story bosses that get shamelessly reused! It shows that FromSoftware didn't have enough time to develop this game properly. The boring empty openBy far the worst souls game ever made, the open world is extremely boring and full of copy+paste content. There is no fun way to traverse the open world.     Before Elden Ring, Zelda Breath of the Wild was easily my favourite game.

    After 100 hours of this game, I'm not really even that bothered about the Tears of the Kingdom sequel though. Elden ring is fairly similar to Breath of the Wild but the combat feels way more realistic and evolved and there's much more to do. The only problem with it is that it's slightly spoilt all other games.    Before Elden Ring, Zelda Breath of the Wild was easily my favourite game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. this is an absolute monument of a game; a pinnacle in the action RPG genre and the sum of all of it's excellent parts; you want to go to the next cave, get the next big sword, beat the boss in the lake, go to the other region; the game is absolutely fantastic if you are a fan of the dark medieval fantasy genre.

    This game absolutely masters the art of the open world game like few have done before it. The only other open world games I've played that live up to the open world design of Elden Ring are Skyrim and Breath of the Wild. This was by far the most surprising thing about this game to me. FromSoft had always been known for their intricate 3D Metroidvania style games, so a fully realized and incredibly detailed open world game isn't what I was expecting from them. But it just works so well here. Also, their more narrow, non-linear, metroidvania style level design is still abundantly present in the NUMEROUS castles found throughout the map.

    Bosses are good. Best storyline that FromSoft has delivered so far. Still very much leaning into that alternative form of storytelling where you need to think about the context of why certain enemies are where they are, and you need to look through item descriptions to understand the story.    … Expand

    I finally bought this game and why did I wait so long!? It might be the best game I've ever played. It is true magic, over and over again. It's my first souls game and at first I wasn't sure about it. But slowly I figured things out. I did a restart once a few hours in but then that was it.     Je n'avais jamais fait de jeux From Software jusqu'à ce jour (à part le 1er Dark Souls que j'avais lâché à cause de son gameplay très lent et sa difficulté qui m'avait rebuté à l'époque).
    Le jeu est donc totalement accessible pour n'importe quel joueur, et ça c'est vraiment une bonne chose. Si on bute sur un boss ou une zone, pas grave, on y revient plus tard quand on est mieux équipé et avec un perso plus fort. Ca finit toujours par passé, et même Mélania le boss le plus difficile de jeu, ne sera pas insurmontable.

    Les principaux défauts pour moi:
    - recyclage omniprésent des boss. Entre les dragons, les statues chats, les mages, les vers et j'en passe. C'est vraiment dommage de ne pas avoir diversifié davantage ces "mini boss".
    - un scénario un peu obscur et difficile à suivre à mon goût
    - un inventaire brouillon et des objets souvent incompréhensibles (les indications fournies sont trop succintes, voir obscures)
    - des quêtes annexes où on ne sait jamais si elles sont finies. Il manque juste un onglet avec l'état d'avancement des quêtes. On peut passer à côté de beaucoup de chose parce que tout est très confu au niveau histoire et suivi

    En conclusion, Elden Ring mérite tout de même tous les compliments qu'il a reçu et reste un grand jeu. Presque 110 heures passés sur le jeu et je ne me suis jamais ennuyé. Preuve que la recette est bonne.    … Expand

Ridiculously off balance area of effects and hitboxes that dont match visuals, laggy responsiveness, AI counters everything while you get to slash at an ankle here and there ad naseum, one slight screw up and your dead. Combat is a complete turn off, totally regret this purchase.

Now that I'm in my 30s I don't mind sticking to it longer but without that historical Souls franchise experience, it is very difficult and very frustrating. I've been playing since launch and still haven't beat the first boss. Watch video, gotten advise and still can't get it done. I would have liked to try it coop but ya know it didn't work for days and I still haven't gotten to try it. From what I've seen, it's really not that dynamic of a coop anyway so I'm weary. Overall the game is fun ut is very frustrating not just for difficulty but the broken online mode, meh graphical details, lack of basic features, and crazy clunky fighting mechanics. Basically, if you're not already a Souls die hard with a clear bias for this type of game, this game is just good but not good enough. Too bad the critics couldn't see past their bias.… Expand

    From what i know and when i played, Elden Ring performs so much better on the Xbox with better frame rate at max and even with VRR, Elden Ring is even more higher fps and is better than every other version of Elden Ring. Elden Ring is such a great game with bosses and open world

    This game is amazing. it has some issues regarding performance but that can be fixed with a patch. the game is way more nonlinear. if you are having trouble with a boss you can just leave the boss and go level up and return to defeat it. which helps a lot. on top of that, the art style of this game is amazing. proving that art style beats graphics. I mean did you see the Erdtree?! .     Elden ring is not a perfect game but it is a good one, and if you are a fan of previous soulsborne games you will most likely enjoy this game. For new players this game might be harder to enjoy early on due to its lack of guidance and what can be a frustrating combat system and currency/xp system, if you are unexperienced with souls likes. Elden ring also has a few technical issues, likeElden ring is not a perfect game but it is a good one, and if you are a fan of previous soulsborne games you will most likely enjoy this game. For new players this game might be harder to enjoy early on due to its lack of guidance and what can be a frustrating combat system and currency/xp system, if you are unexperienced with souls likes. Elden ring also has a few technical issues, like server issues that will hopefully be cleaned up fairly soon and some texture and occasionally enemy pop in.The open world also has a bit of a lower level of quality compared to the more detailed and interesting legacy dungeons, but none the less the open world is still rich with things to do and find. Sometimes the world can look a little outdated graphically but there are moments that truly do shine. Like when you are standing on top of a tower looking over to see the castle you have just finished fighting a challenging boss in, or the dense forest you escaped moments before. The bosses in elden ring vary from being great to more on the level of filler. Not that they are poorly designed just that you may fight a boss and then a have very similar enemy appear somewhere else that is just considered a slightly stronger foe in your path or multiple similar bosses scattered around the world, which can feel a little repetitive. Overall though the experience, designs of dungeons, enemies, sometimes breathtaking vistas, interesting characters and a very well detailed world and lore. Triumphs most of the issues that can be found with Elden ring. This is a game any fan of fromsoftware should pickup, and any interested new comers should maybe watch a few YouTube videos on, to understand what kind of experience they are going to get them selves into before purchasing.… Expand

    Despite some annoying performance issues, Elden Ring is a masterpiece. The combat, enemy variety, exploration, music, and open world are top notch. I’ve been playing it daily across all platforms alongside other games all month, and look forward to doing that all year as I try new builds, help friends, and try to do everything I want in this triumph of a video game.

    Elden Ring rewards your curiosity in many ways, be it items, runes or a pathway to another area, but mostly it’s a story to tell your friends when you are sharing tales around the bonfire. It does not force feed tutorials down your throat, but instead it leans far the opposite way by not telling you much at all and lets you explore and find things out on your own. There is no true quest log, no points of interest on a map or no arrows pointing you in the right direction, so there is a good chance you’ll miss some of the best caves and areas of the game. Because of all of this, Elden Ring is forcing me to find all of that out on my own and it is one of the most rewarding games I have ever played. I will continue to explore the Land Between for many hours to come. I’m just not in a hurry.

    Elden Ring manages to draw the player into a fascinating world for many hours, with refined gameplay that fits perfectly with the freedom granted to the player. A sumptuous but imperfect work, which fails to completely overcome some of the historical flaws of Hidetaka Miyazaki's productions. Flaws that, however, can't diminish the scope of a masterpiece destined to leave an indelible mark on the videogame world and to set new standards for the souls-like and open-world genres.
