    I dont like it too much. Neither aesthetics, nor balance, fights, story and this huge empty world. It requires very much time for exploring and game rewards your exploration with very little of something. Sekiro is like million times better. Cant understand how same team was able to make ingenuous sekiro and this. Continue to playing however - maybe later will change my mind

    Really annoying mechanics. I love a good challenge and loved Dark Souls but when a game resorts to **** and sneaky tricks to beat the player, that's when it loses me. It's hard but in a more frustrating and hollow way than in a fun and practical way. Not a horrible game by any means but if you don't have the endless hours to grind or pour in the time to get really good, I wouldn't botherReally annoying mechanics.     First of all, let me preface by saying that it is never acceptable to knowingly release software that clearly cannot perform its main function reliably. Why should this be any different with Elden Ring's frame stutters? It has been a month and a half without any real fixes. I do not recall the same level of compassion with Cyberpunk.

    With Elden Ring, Fromsoft proves it has finally lost    First of all, let me preface by saying that it is never acceptable to knowingly release software that clearly cannot perform its main function reliably. Why should this be any different with Elden Ring's frame stutters? It has been a month and a half without any real fixes. I do not recall the same level of compassion with Cyberpunk.

    With Elden Ring, Fromsoft proves it has finally lost sight of what makes their games fair and rewarding and has caved in completely to artificial difficulty. Fights in this game are either trivial or littered with poorly thought out fast attacks and combos, with dramatic AOE effects in bossrooms to cover up the horrible design choices. The gameplay has barely changed since DS3 and does not equip the player with the appropriate toolset to handle its range of enemies. Even worse, they have somehow regressed in quality, with slower rolls, less i frames, input buffering, input delay, inputs disappearing. The damage done in the last third of the game is so bizarre that I cannot even begin to comprehend the thought process. It feels like From really wanted to make an open world game, designed a huge and interconnecting map, and everything else just played second fiddle: littering the landscape with uncreative, sparse and repeated dungeons and encounters, scrapping together unused boss and enemy designs from previous games and slapping it together without thorough playtesting or thoughtful user-oriented design. In summary, after several hundred hours of From games, this is the game that has now tarnished my image of From as a company that holds their games to high standards and respects the player.    … Expand

    I honestly just don’t understand the hype? Graphically it’s so far behind everything on the series X, the controls are terrible the fighting it’s so old fashioned not to mention laggy. What really is so great here? Boss fights are all the same dodge, dodge, slash dodge. Although the design of the bosses are pretty good everything else poor. I am someone who loved Zelda, Witcher 3 and moreI honestly just don’t understand the hype?     Guess you REALLY have to be into this kind of game. Incredibly boring, walk around kill things,die. Not much in the way of any story. The world design is nice, just a shame the graphics look several generations old. I'd sum this up as very tedious. Wish i hadn't bought digital now as i can't sell it to some from software bum boy who likes playing the same game over and over.

    One of the most overrated games of this generation. It's dark souls again just in a boring open world that tries to be breath of the wild but falls flat on its face. The story is literally the same as every other game so GRR martins influence was greatly exaggerated.

    Horrible game. Constantly get immediately killed in any area I explore. Only critical hit from behind works. No objectives are shown. Guarding with shield does little to stop damage. Can't tell if you've completed the objective in an area. Can't tell the strength of the opponent.     This game is only for the fans of the popular Dark Souls games. If you are new to the serie this will probably be a very frustrating an disappointing experience. Bought it at launch because of the hype and after 15 hours I gave up. It's one big struggle. Together with the pretty low performance on Xbox Series X I'm done playing this. Game.

    Interesting premise, I really love the open world approach in Elden Ring. Graphically it looks fine, but it runs so incredible bad that I had to stop playing. Get the fps up to a stable 60 and its a masterpiece, right now its not worth buying. In a game that revolves around timing these framerate issues are just unacceptable.

    After over 150 hours in, completing the main story and the vast majority of side content, falling in love with this world and then slowly but surely growing to hate it I can say with absolute certainty that in my opinion this is from softwares worst game.

    Looked forward to Elden Ring for months, was severely disappointed. I am not sure why this game is so critically acclaimed.

    1. The story is nothing to write home about and seems like a cheap knockoff of Lord of the Rings lore, with a few things changed.
    2. The graphics aren't great. Not terrible, but not great.
    3. Unnecessarily long loading times for a next gen game.

    This game has some of the most uninteresting and nerdy stuff I’ve ever seen. Why am I fighting a giant crab with zero explanation? I don’t understand how people feel inclined to progress the game if the story sucks. A game can’t have a bad story in 2022 and be called a “masterpiece”. Such a waste of potential.

    Now to be fair, this game has next gen graphics that are beautiful and certainly one for your desktop wallpaper but not that much else.
    The character design is in depth and makes you feel like you have inserted yourself into this world.

    BUT,

    The AI in this game is abysmal, they patrol the same line no matter what, day in and day out. Their perception is absolutely atrocious and you can sneak around them easily, too easily. You can also just sprint around literally any enemy and effectively become invincible. For a triple A release i do expect better. You end up killing the same footsoldiers in the same forest over and over which slows progress to a complete halt. Oh yeah, and THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT CORPSES. Come on man, at least be cautious about a **** corpse in the road. The voice acting also leaves this game with something to be desired. Every line feels like it is delivered with no emotion, anger or despair. Nothing.

    The "open world" is also very open, true, BUT it fails to fill its openness which is very disappointing. It fills itself with these stale enemies that feel like robots, not humans. Some loot that is completely useless for a majority of the game and vast expanses of admittedly beautiful views. BUT THE FOLIAGE is atrocious. The animation when you look closely is the same waving back and forth of stale fronds despite the direction of wind. Everything feels plastic with moving parts like a machine which is disappointing to say the least.

    The combat also is very clunky. I have played as bandit and astrologer and both control pretty badly. If you dodge continuously you effectively become invincible which defeats the purpose of good timing. The stamina recharges so quickly it might as well not even be a mechanic. The flasks are a good system that i can appreciate but the way they refuel is silly. Having to kill a group of enemies is stupid as it is inconsistent with which groups you can gain them on. Also lack of invulnerability frames means one attack can spell immediate death on you which is frustrating and leaves me feeling cheated.

    There is very little indication of where you are meant to go at all. I understand it is an open game but the only clue is the direction of the light shining from the light respawn point things which do this regardless of level meaning you might end up fighting the first real boss with the same gear you started off with, unfortunately i fell into this trap.

    Even furthermore, a complete lack of story, or at least a well explained version at the beginning leaves me feeling like there is no point to anything you do. The vague explanation in the powerpoint presentation "cutscene" at the beginning is not very motivational and does not make me want to discover what a tarnished is or why i want the elden ring so much. Even if it elaborates later into the story, i'm afraid it will be too little, too late.

    In summary, i must declare this game a victim of over hyping. Too high expectations have crashed this hype train. I will admit, amazing graphics (that aren't plants) and a good premise. However a combination of terrible AI, bad voice acting, an empty husk of a world, bad combat and an utterly unforgiving and vaguely signed world makes for a terrible first experience.     Other than the *slightly* more open world structure (the 'Souls series was always somewhat open in structure) and Torrent the goathorse, everything is exactly the same as all the previous games, including elements from Bloodborne and Sekiro.

    Same player classes and animations?
    Same enemy design, including enemy types/classes?
    Same pseudo-mediaeval world, with lonely atmosphere?
    Same dead-eyed, hollow-voiced NPCs?
    Same controls and combat system?
    Same telling of the opaque story and world lore through item descriptions?
    Same, boring, grindy progression system?
    Same die-and-die-again repetitive gameplay?
    Enroaching feeling that you are wasting your life playing updates to the same game released well over a decade ago?

    'Yes' to all of the above.

    Mashing together your previous 4 games and adding a horse is in no way innovative or good, by any metric. This is one of the laziest 'masterpieces' I have ever seen.

    It used to be fun, but its just the same bland thing over and over again.

Its just a really nice fighting game with a nice character creation. Just not one of those go to games you can play over and over again.     c) the can’t program interactions with the bosses with the environment well and limited environmental destruction so they have to lock you in the room with every boss so you ‘can’t escape’ but realistically it’s because they can’t program these creatures to interact with the world C) Making the game a complete grind to level up “to make the game difficult and rewarding” - nah bollocks - it’s just because the game is much more shallow than it advertised and so it makes pointless grinding and one hit kill bosses you have to flawlessly fight again and again just to pad out this lifeless game. I mean seriously? How do these giant monsters survive underground in a cave etc with no food - it makes zero sense.. It’s a pretty open world game where there’s no point to anything and nothing you do changes anything - it’s just a game for people who like collecting herbs and leveling up for hours and don’t care much the story    … Expand

    I’m happy others like it. I love the imagination and graphics. I paid for the game day one after critics review. Sadly I played 10 hours or so and I’m done. It’s too slow. It doesn’t feel like you are making any progress. The UI looks like it belongs in a $1 bin game store 1990’s indy games. Only progress I could make is stealth play. To me that is boring.

To me that is boring.

    Again, I’m probably an average or below average player. I own that. I heard Elden Ring was more approachable of Dark Souls game. It may be but apparently I am not even that good.

    My recommendation unless you are a top 30% skilled gammer. Save your money and play cyber punk or assassins creed. Both of those games are amazing. Elden Ring was a big waist of money for me. It may run well, look good, but critics do not give enough warning on how unapproachable this game is for the vast majority of average skilled gamers.     Dodge mechanics are pretty clunky and don't seem to work quite right.. Seems like your character's hit box is larger than Nancy Pelosi's slush fund. Clipping seems to guarantee that the enemies kill you through walls and rocks and other crap, but you never seem to go through them. I presume it's some intentional feature to create a faux sense of challenge to the game. The alternative is that the programmers lack the technical wherewithal to pull of what they're striving for. Now that I think on that though it's probably the latter with the number of bugs this game has. Frame rate drops are pretty harsh and consistently occur on boss encounters.

    Maybe it would have been a cool game if the story was any interesting or if the developers were worth a lick, but they seem to be reaching for the stars when they can't even grab the dirt off the floor very well. Play God of War any of them and hard if you wanna play a real good game. I'll be taking this back to gamestop and telling them the damned thing is broken to get my money back because it's just awful.    … Expand

    There's no plot in sight, aside from the premise of reassembling the McGuffin Ring to save the world. The game expects you to follow a linear path of progression for the first 2 hours without even so much as a waypoint, so you're just left to die to mobs over and over until you get sick of it and check a walkthrough.
    I can play and enjoy hard games, I ran through Doom Eternal on Ultra Nightmare and had a lot of fun with DMC 5 on Dante Must Die. The problem I have isn't that the game is hard, it's too damn convoluted. I'm not getting kicked down because I mistimed a dash or didn't have my combos down, but because the game straight up doesn't tell you what it wants.
    The simple fact is that most gamers are willing to put in the hours to master a difficult game so long as they're having fun. People invested years into games like Command and Conquer or Age of Empires because the games were enthralling, the difficulty is just a means to an end. But if a player is getting punished by a dev that thinks trial and error is compelling gameplay, the I'll call it quits. There is no pride for me in beating a game that is meant to be beaten, or solving a puzzle that was meant to be solved. No matter how hard they are, the fun is what takes precedent.
    And if trying and guessing to stay on the linear path in an "Open World game" is fun for you, then go ahead. But I'm not regretting my refund.
    That's not even talking about the atrocious performance and terrible optimization. Holy **** why does this game run so bad?! The open world is entirely barren with no crowds, NPCs, traffic or large buildings to render. The thing looks almost as barren as the Shadow of the Colossus, and somehow runs 20x worse than that game does on next generation hardware!

    So frustrating. I raged quit tonight after putting in over 100 hours. Not even due to a boss fight. The game is unbalanced in its difficulty. This game is for a tiny subset of gamers. I have a stressful job, I look to games to blow off steam and this game achieved the opposite. I don't even feel accomplished after defeating a boss, just relief. Why would anyone subject themselves to this?

    Music? When my 6 year old son without watching, just listening to what I am doing points out how terrible the music of the game is, I realize why my frustration spending with this title is so big.

    It’s hard to call a game like this an “RPG” because RPGs usually have good immersion however the immersion is broken with this game once you get a loading screen and are teleported away every time you die, which happens a lot by design with this game
    Enemies always respawning also breaks immersion and makes you clearing an area feel unrewarding

    Overall this game is a **** fest where you spawn in with no purpose and are tasked with killing enemies that attack quicker than half your attacks, attack animation duration(something you can’t cancel). Who also hit you during your roll animation(not synced to negation bad game design) making the core draw of this game the combat a poor experience.

    (With Elden Ring, Fromsoft proves it has finally lost sight of what makes their games fair and rewarding and has caved in completely to artificial difficulty. Fights in this game are either trivial or littered with poorly thought out fast attacks and combos, with dramatic AOE effects in bossrooms to cover up the horrible design choices. The gameplay has barely changed since DS3 and does not equip the player with the appropriate toolset to handle its range of enemies. Even worse, they have somehow regressed in quality, with slower rolls, less i frames, input buffering, input delay, inputs disappearing. The damage done in the last third of the game is so bizarre that I cannot even begin to comprehend the thought process. It feels like From really wanted to make an open world game, designed a huge and interconnecting map, and everything else just played second fiddle: littering the landscape with uncreative, sparse and repeated dungeons and encounters, scrapping together unused boss and enemy designs from previous games and slapping it together without thorough playtesting or thoughtful user-oriented design. In summary, after several hundred hours of From games, this is the game that has now tarnished my image of From as a company that holds their games to high standards and respects the player.)

    Looks pretty, but the very poor design is just lazy. Making Bosses massively, vastly overpowered and giving players a feather duster weapon to wave at a Boss travelling at you like an atomic bomb is terrible unbalanced rubbish. Fanboys and propellor heads with nothing better to do probably like this kind of junk, everyone else will just demand a refund for a completely unplayable game.

    Would rate it lower if I could. 0 storyline. Bosses are all the same. Yet another copy and paste game like the rest of fromsoft. Trash.

    Game is fine until you’re getting constantly kicked while down and have 0 chance of survival You’re better off playing the DS Trilogy or Bloodborne instead, those ones are still challenging AND it still feels fair

    Bandai namco stated and confirmed on the announcement year of the game that the game will support Arabic UI and Subs, and thousands of arabs pre ordered the game.. anyway.. on the day of release we were shocked that the game doesn't include a single arabic word.. they didn't bother to tell us that they've canceled it before they lunch the game they just went silent and lied to us..

    Muy flojo , malos graficos e historia. Las notas tan altas de los profesionales estan totalmente injustificadas. Creo que hay mucho elitismo en este tipo de juegos . Una juego como una peli que se pueda considerar obra maestra debe ser buena para Todos , no solo para una elite

    Despite some annoying performance issues, Elden Ring is a masterpiece. The combat, enemy variety, exploration, music, and open world are top notch. I’ve been playing it daily across all platforms alongside other games all month, and look forward to doing that all year as I try new builds, help friends, and try to do everything I want in this triumph of a video game.

    Elden Ring rewards your curiosity in many ways, be it items, runes or a pathway to another area, but mostly it’s a story to tell your friends when you are sharing tales around the bonfire. It does not force feed tutorials down your throat, but instead it leans far the opposite way by not telling you much at all and lets you explore and find things out on your own. There is no true quest log, no points of interest on a map or no arrows pointing you in the right direction, so there is a good chance you’ll miss some of the best caves and areas of the game. Because of all of this, Elden Ring is forcing me to find all of that out on my own and it is one of the most rewarding games I have ever played. I will continue to explore the Land Between for many hours to come. I’m just not in a hurry.

    Elden Ring manages to draw the player into a fascinating world for many hours, with refined gameplay that fits perfectly with the freedom granted to the player. A sumptuous but imperfect work, which fails to completely overcome some of the historical flaws of Hidetaka Miyazaki's productions. Flaws that, however, can't diminish the scope of a masterpiece destined to leave an indelible mark on the videogame world and to set new standards for the souls-like and open-world genres.
