    I’m guessing people are giving this a score below 6 because they got caught up in the hype and didn’t realise the game was… hard. The visuals are some of the best I have ever seen in a videogame, I bet the people saying it looks like an old Bethesda game have played for about 30 minutes and gave up at the first real boss fight which they didn’t realise was optional. The game is so good that the framerate drops don’t even bother me in the slightest. Buy it, if you’re up for the challenge.     Amazing game. Its a breath of fresh air - haven’t experienced something like this since the days of Ultima. Its as if castlevania symphony of the night had a baby with Ultima online in a 3D world. I’ve never seen an an open world so detailed and vast - there are 2 levels… and theres no minimap like in the old days so you are forced to actually explore.     The gane is easy once you learn how to beat the mental puzzles (combat techniques, weaknesses, area tips using lore, terrain, etc) and by the time you realize it you’ll wish you could experience this masterpiece again as if it was your first time.    … Expand

    Amazing game. Seriously one of the best games I've ever played and like the best open world ever. Meaningful story gameplays rewards and systems. Best combat for 3rd person fantasy games besides fee exceptions. Can get lost in the world for hours and hours.

    My first souls style game and wow what a game it is. The open world is great, enemies that can one hit you and the game lets you find your own way without flooding your screen with quests and markers. The boss battles are amazing, every boss has their weaknesses and its up to us to fail time and time again to find it.     One of the best games I've ever played. I am a huge fan of fromsoft and the souls series and this is one of the best entires. The combat is very similar to ds3 which I love, there's so much build variety and the weapons all feel so cool and there's so much variety in the weapon types. This game is just so amazing, the open world is so full and beautiful, and the legacy dungeons are some ofOne of the best games I've ever played. I am a huge fan of fromsoft and the souls series and this is one of the best entires.     This game is a masterpiece and deservers the score. It's probably the best game I've ever played and I have already over 100 hours.
    The gameflow, gameplay, combat is perfection. They took the best from all souls games and created a magnum opus in terms of combat.

    Now lets talk about the current "controvery":
    Some Game devs (Especially the sore loosers at ubisoft) badmouthed this game with various untrue reasons like: missing UI, bad graphics, overhyped by game critics and so on (,while being unable to make good games theirself).
    Saddest part is, that some ubi-fanboys are reviewbombing this game and giving their favourite "open world game" perfect score. They usually copy ubisofts and over devs words and just add the "bad performance" part for PC, which mostly has been fixed for people above min. reqiurements.

    If you don't like it or even hate the game, I guess it's okay if you give like a 5. But it shouldn't be objectively possible to give below 5 because it's in every aspect amazing. Now to all the Fanboys/Clowns: If you really hate it, it's okay. Taste is objective.
    If you think the game is bad because of gameplay or graphics then you didn't know what game you bought in the first place and you are a fool.
    If the game doesn't run smoothly, next time read the System requirements, which they posted like 1 week even before release.

    If you cry about UI, lore or just copy the stupid/false words from the "devs", just go to your corner and play your easy/boring/bad microtransaction games with 800 questmarker/waypoints on the map where you just follow a path like a bot without thinking/playing yourself. If that's the case, you are the reason why gaming gets bad and gives money to those big "triple A" companys, who exploit clowns like you.

    If you want to fight me in an argument about this, just add me on steam or write me a comment there. Can't wait how many clowns are going to write "interesting stuff" and white knight their favourite game in comparison to elden ring.

    Long time souls veteran. This game scratches all of the itches ive had from previous souls games. Elden Ring captures exactly what I was looking for in pve, pvp, and lore. Fantastic overall game. I specifically made an account on here to rate this game. Now I cannot wait for the email spam from all the **** they send me :)

    It is with zero hyperbole that I say that Elden Ring is the most ambitious game I have ever played. The sheer amount of hours it must have taken to make this game is honestly baffling and I never thought games could reach this level of craftsmanship.     Love the gameplay mechanics and the overall game and quest line is super fun and addicting. With lots of areas to explore you can level up at your own rate without the game feeling too “grindy” or overbearing. This is a huge improvement over their past releases. Also, I love that you now have a save point right before the boss!     This game is incredible! From the massive world full of challenges and secrets, to the epic boss battles and rewarding combat, this game blows you away from start to finish. The graphic are good, but not top notch, and there is the occasional bug that comes with most If not all open world titles, but If you like a challenge and enjoy beautiful art design you will love this game!

    I’m a completionist of DS and Sekiro, IMO this is From Software’s closest attempt at making the perfect souls-type game. Open world significantly exceeded my expectations with visually stunning and varied regions, fighting mechanics aren’t quite as sharp and unforgiving as Sekiro but incorporate some new elements, dying is less inconvenient than in previous souls games, and storytellingI’m a completionist of DS and Sekiro, IMO this is From Software’s closest attempt at making the perfect souls-type game. Open world significantly exceeded my expectations with visually stunning and varied regions, fighting mechanics aren’t quite as sharp and unforgiving as Sekiro but incorporate some new elements, dying is less inconvenient than in previous souls games, and storytelling has been stepped up while staying true to From’s signature style of starting vague with a big picture and unraveling the details as you go.     When you see many pozitive and many negatives that means something is wrong about some reviews, or people loves or or they don't. This game is the best that I ever played, the problem I quess is that players buy it and don't know what to expect from it, it is a hard game no joke, and if you play on pc is even harder until you understand the control scheme.     El juego es excelente y para ver lo bueno hay miles de review el tema es lo malo y que no lo hace un 10/10 y a mi criterio es, en la exploración muchas veces el objeto a descubrir es un pedazo de planta que no sirve para nada, o un hongo, debieran de haber incluido en estas zonas más materiales de mejora de armas, ya que es un problema la escasez de los mismos, debido a que por lo generalEl juego es excelente y para ver lo bueno hay miles de review el tema es lo malo y que no lo hace un 10/10 y a mi criterio es, en la exploración muchas veces el objeto a descubrir es un pedazo de planta que no sirve para nada, o un hongo, debieran de haber incluido en estas zonas más materiales de mejora de armas, ya que es un problema la escasez de los mismos, debido a que por lo general uno va a empezar a mejorar un arma de arranque de la partida y la verdad q no hay forma de saber si el arma encontrada a las 60hs de estar jugando va a escalar mejor o peor que la que tenemos equipada, por lo tanto van quedando relegadas al inventario de a decenas y solo usaremos 4 o 5 en toda la partida, quizás hubiera sido mejor resumir el juego a 12 armas como lo hizo bloodborne. Otro punto negativo son las quest secundarias, en estas si hubiera hecho falta algún tipo de indicador o un guiño del personaje de donde encontrarlo la próxima vez o de que hacer, por que literal es imposible completarlas sin mirar una guía, lo cual le quita al juego ese extra de andar a ciegas y lo convierte en algo monótono el tener q ver una guía, volver al juego ir a ese punto x tener un dialogo, volver a la guía, ver el siguiente paso, volver al juego, hacerlo..... arruina la experiencia. Fuera de eso es un excelente juego y la realidad por ahora es que la dificultad está presente al inicio, una vez alcanzado el nivel 60 con tu arma favorita en +17 algún stat de fuerza o destreza en 40 y unas cenizas de invocación en +6 la dificultad baja al 50%. Por ejemplo arranque el juego como es esperado y en lugar de ir a la segunda y tercera zona, me fui para la cuarta el desafío era alto pero la fue peleando y lo completo hasta donde se podía, y luego al ir a las zonas que en realidad eran la 2 y 3, me la estoy pasando matando a enemigos poderosos de 4 golpes .para resumir tiene una duración monstruosa ya que explorando al 100% y jugando sin guías a la primera recurrendo luego a ellas para sacar el 100 de lo que ofrece cada una de las zonas, con quest incluidas, llevo unas 60 hs y calculo que recién un 50% del juego, y aun sigo enganchado cosa que no me paso con otro mundo abierto… Expand

Plus the Xbox Series S is handling this game also with just as much sheer finesse as every other demanding title. This is truly something different to the taboo open-world recipe being used nowadays by most other developers. IfThis game is just beautiful in every aspect.     It’s been so hard, but the game does not feel doll it’s amazing. At the beginning without any Souls experience I got frustrated but with YouTube help I found my way into the tarnish world. Love it

This is easily one of the best games i have ever played, and believe me when i say I’ve played many.

I’ve rescued the Milky way from fearsome reapers, liberated the nuclear wasteland, stolen thousands of cars, liberated tropical islands, won countless Stanley cups and to boot l, a few world cups. I’ve planned and built cities and I’ve protected man kind in the name if our God emperor! Ive played over 200 hours of Elden ring on my Series X , not nearly as many as I’ve spent on Dark souls one, two or three. But i predict this game will be one of the greats. One of those you keep coming back to. I truly have loved every moment of it. The open world keeps distracting you, leading you astray from your true quest. Visually stunning vistas and alluring lore that keeps you hooked on lorevids on Youtube is accompanied by stellar fighting mechanics and that ever present feeling of joy and fear at the same time. You know the one, where you never know whats next on the epic journey. Bossfights in line with what we’ve come to expect when it comes to FROM, secret and rare items, dragons, fire, magic, stellar soundtrack and of course..Patches!
    This game has earned a spot in my all time top ten of games. It is a few patches from top five. (Software updates, that is ;). )

    if we ignore multiplayer this game is a complete masterpiece, but like all fromsoftware games the busted magic ruins it a lot, however just the amount of replay-ability the game offers is amazing people like iron pineapple have pushed the the game and seen what you can do with it and its amazing. i'm started my third playthough of the game and i want to attempt the summon only run

    this game is honestly the game i’ve been waiting for for years, i had no idea about it until a week before it was released idk how i missed out all the information on it but when i found it i was highly intrigued and now that i’m playing the game and am getting into late game ive fallen in love it is the best game i have ever played hands down

Что мне понравилось, так это разнообразие оружия, большое количество контента и интересные локации, а вот не понравились мне боссы и большое количество самоповторений. Для знакомства с жанрам эту игру не очень рекомендую, на мой взгляд она уж слишком сложная и душная, даже относительно 3 дарк соулсаВсе тот же дарк соулс, местами лучше, местами хуже. Что мне понравилось, так это разнообразие оружия, большое количество контента и интересные локации, а вот не понравились мне боссы и большое количество самоповторений. Для знакомства с жанрам эту игру не очень рекомендую, на мой взгляд она уж слишком сложная и душная, даже относительно 3 дарк соулса

    The game was my first ever 'souls-like' so take my review carely. I fall in love with this game, the story, the carachters, the gameplay, everything is put in the exact position you would wish. The score in not 10 out of 10 because a lot of boss/mini-boss are pretty much the same in all the game, but this in understable because the map is very big so i understand why is like that.     Having very little experience completing a souls game. I put myself at the task of finally taking down this game. It took a lot of work multiple restarts of new characters finding different styles and guides to help me out. Yes I did beat it first using the astrologer. All of this to say that the freedom in this game is what truly sets itself apart from former games in the series and the unguided nature of the game sets it apart from other open world games minus a few that did it first. I recommend giving this game a try and once you do finally beat this massive undertaking give new game plus a try as well and don’t be afraid to hit every single spot in the game it makes it that much sweeter.… Expand

    Tough as all hell but I really enjoyed playing it. The lore and enemies are fantastic and the world is so immersive. I normally dont play these sorts of games so I struggled with basically everything but I must be a glutton for punishment as I still managed to make it to the end. Overall I would recommend if you like the challenge.

    Repetitive, the most efficient way to play is to find the weapon with the most damage and do a jumping attack, pvp is lousy unless you like to be ganked by 2-3 people and if by some miracle you win the rewards are not worth it, in late game bosses are very unfair, decent game but Sekiro has better combat, Bloodborne better story.

Finally a recent game respecting your intelligence and time. No bloat, no railed experiences, 70h in and still hungry!     (2) First From Software game. To say the survival learning curve is hideous is a laugh. You die over and over for no reason other than developers thinking it's FUN for professional people with families wanting to relax playing a video game. There's no such luck with this title. I understand learning a game and getting better skill, but there is no margin for error for simple mistakes. This is coming from someone who killed Margit at lvl 23 as an Astrologer...farmed the meteorite staff etc....I researched. I improved skill. Still the learning curve is STEEP and unnecessarily harsh. Think of the average player not the try hards or make tiers like so many other games do to fix it.
    (3) Forcing me to play multiplayer in today's gaming world when I don't want to adds to my frustration. So I have to have two systems and two disks to play the game with family already and NOW you force us to play pvp vs randoms if we try to play with help. It doesn't make the game fun for those that don't want pvp. Just stop it. It borders on being jerks to your player base. It's lazy. Make a separate pvp system without forcing us to comply with it.

The soundtrack is far inferior to past games, especially if we compare it to Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne, you can count on your fingers which ones are really memorable and incredible. The exploration of the world itself is phenomenal and intuitive, it's really a revolution of the open world system, but unfortunately that's only true for the first time playing, making the game have very little replay factor, as you've already seen all the new exploration. In short, the game is amazing and extremely fun and addictive, it has a lot of successes but it also has a lot of flaws. For FromSoftware's first open world game, I'd say they are to be congratulated, they improved a lot from the other games, but honestly it could have been better. If they had more creativity and time, the game would be immensely more memorable and most of the game's serious flaws would be minimized. Overall, it's an unforgettable game on your first playthrough and it's really worth it, it's not quite a masterpiece as many have said, for me it's basically an open world Dark Souls 4, but it's worth the investment, especially nowadays where the market of Videogames only cares about money and quantity, while FromSoftware cares more about the artistic factor and quality in their games.     I really love this game, the way it tells its story, the bosses design, the only thing I don’t like so much it’s the necessity to spend a lot of time to be able to have a good level to defeat a boos at the beginning of the game, but I know this is how you play a Souls game, so it’s fine!

I am hoping they went with the name, Elden Ring, to leave room for a DS4 that returns to the winning formula they had before they decided to make a DS/AC hybrid.     Fantastic game. Brutal at times but absolute the best game of the last 3 years and the best RPG I've ever played. Not to be confused with Skyrim - far more rewarding and much better combat at the cost of serious difficulty increase. One complaint - it could use in-depth tutorial for newcomers.

    Difficulty perferction. Organic and not a arbitrary "easy/normal/hard" or "Give me just the story/journalist mode" before the game even begins. Amazing artstyle, combat, traversal, atmosphere, direction, soumdtrack, quest design, story, ending/s, bossfights and, as always, level design. Truly their most thought-out work.

    I was not a Dark Souls fan at all. In fact, I hated all the snobish souls culture. But this game just caught me like probably no game except for Skyrim or New Vegas 10 years ago. It is one of the best gaming experiences I had in my life.

    This was my first dark souls type game and its amazing. I love this game. The hype in this game is understandable. Its very beginner friendly if you have a brain. There are a few issues with frames but its never been a big problem personally.

But I pushed through to learn the mechanics and how the game wanted me to play and at this point, every time I turn on the Series X, its the first thing I click on. The world is highly satisfying to explore. The graphics look great on an OLED (Not sure what others have issues with, it definitely looks like a next gen game). The game is challenging which isn't easy to come by these days, but remains rewarding. The gear/progression system is addicting and I believe the game has very long legs as something you play off and on for the entire year.

    I'm a shooter/sports/sometimes RPG fan. This game should not be in my wheelhouse. But the hooks are in deep and at this point I couldn't be happier I decided to check this out. FromSoftware is now a "must check out" their new game developer for me alongside studios like Bethesda.

    Do yourself a favor, stop contimplating it. Stop getting stuck on people throwing hate because they don't enjoy the challenge. It's a game that doesn't hold your hand and that's rare right now and should be praised. We come to video games for escape and emergence. It's here....it's Elden Ring.    … Expand

    This easily became top 3 of my favorites games, the absolutely phenomenal story, the insane boss fights, good, fluid, controls. FromSoft put an absolute **** load of work into it, and you can tell. Absolutely perfect, one of the only games I've 100%. 10/10 will be playing through again.

These are almost always amazing and generate a connection between the npc and the player. The problem of finding the npc in a hidden location is mostly gone now that a character marker has been added, although not completely. Finally, the cinematic and fantastic boss fights. My favorite part of all the souls games have always been the boss fights, duels with mythical knights and gigantic beasts are almost always done so well in the souls series. Elden Ring is no exception. So many bosses in this game are amazing! These aspects of the game add up to elden ring being a masterpiece. However, it's not perfect, nowhere near it.… Expand

    Elden Ring is a great game in my opion yeah it has his flaws, but for me the world-building and enemy-placement is so good on its on what it makes up for all the little flaws and stuff like what and what where only 2 points of so many. And no where is no need for an easy mode at all, you can explore from the beginning on other areas and loot them or just use summons :)

    Elden Ring is functionally the same as any of the Dark Souls games, albeit with From Software's approach on an open world. I was curious going in how the very clever world and level design from previous games would be affected by this, and I'm happy to say they nailed it. The open parts of the map are filled with areas that naturally peak curiosity and reward it with interesting events, good environmental story telling, or sometimes even just a beautiful vista. Pair that with more sectioned off areas that have a more traditional From Software level design and you have what, in my opinion, is the best of both worlds. Combat, like the Dark Souls games is solid, and while it may seem difficult at first, this game is better than it's predecessors at easing you into it. Leveling up and character building is a little obtuse like the other games, with little to guide you aside from finding a weapon you think is neat, but I feel like figuring things out like that is a bit of the fun in these types of games.

    That being said, as great a game as it is, nothing is without criticism. However in the grand scheme of what this game has to offer, I would say this is more nitpicking than anything. First of all, as with all From Software game I have played thus far, the multiplayer still feels a little obtuse and at times confusing to use. Myself and a lot of my friends were at different points in the story at different times, and not knowing where and where they could not be summoned in a world as open and with as much stuff to do as this one was frustrating. I didn't realize until 60 hours in that you can't summon someone in an area that you have already defeated the boss in, why not? Second is more a personal gripe than it is anything, but I played an Int/Dex build (original I know). My other friends that played with Arcane and Wisdom builds were throwing fire from their hands, summoning dragon heads to breathe damaging elements at things, and summoning lighting to smite their enemies. Meanwhile with my intelligence build I had... 10 different types of the same glintstone shard to fire. I ended up liking my build don't get me wrong, but I wish that intelligence builds had the same variety. Lastly, I wish that the smaller dungeons that veered off in the open world sections had a little bit more variety. I liked the ones I did, but by the last bit of the game I just stopped doing them all together because by that point I had my fill of caves, mines, and crypts.

    All in all, Elden Ring is phenomenal. Easily one of the best action rpgs I have ever played.    … Expand

    Elden Ring is easily 2022's GOTY. Open world, massive content, tons of items, perfectly balanced gameplay. The only letdown is the graphics, and some nasty performance issues nevertheless I have enjoyed playing the game 360 hours in, and still going strong.

    I'm a big dark souls fan. Completed each multiple times. Elden ring is an amazing game, it has the most refined mechanics, and the most variety in gear and spells. However the map is terrible.
    The legacy areas are incredibly short, then the rest of the game is large empty fields with copy paste dungeons + boss fights. If I was to ever replay this game, I would likely just skip all optional stuff unless I need it for my build, which means skipping 90% of the content.    … Expand

    I'm not an old From Software player and for me, the storyline is weird and unclear. But in other aspects this game is rock.

    So much to do, so many secrets to find, so many giant weapons to swing at so many giant enemies. Best Fromsoft game yet. I wish more current game developers would rip a page out of Fromsoft's book because no game i can think of in the last few years even compare. 2022 game of the year hand down, possibly game of the decade.

    Is a newcomer to the souls franchise, I can safely say that Elden Ring is the perfect balance between difficulty and fun. The combat feels fluid, satisfying, and fair. Never was there a point during my 100 hours in the game so far where I had felt completely defeated; I was always improving learning the moves of bosses and standard enemies alike.

There are an absurd amount of weapons, talismans, sorceries, and incantations to be found; and just as many unique variants of said gear that feel different.

    I played Elden Ring on my Xbox One S and the graphics absolutely still hold up a generation behind. In my entire Elden Ring experience the game only stuttered a few times when certain open world weather effects were active. I imagine that this wouldn’t be a problem on current Gen, and even so it wasn’t inconvenient enough to take away from what I’d consider to be a perfect game.    … Expand

This game is the best piece of art that has ever existed, very complete and beautiful, only experienced players of high standards will understand that this game has everything that is required to be the best. Those who do not think so, are probably inexperienced and get frustrated very easily with games of this type and it is understandable, the challenge is not for everyone. ThoseGOTY.     Best soulsborne game before dark souls 3.If you like souls-like games you should DEFINITELY try it.From Software did it.I don't think there is a chance for this game to be bad :)

If you are not watching the mandatory 100 YouTube videos that let you make sense of this mess of a game, then you have very little chance to complete any quest at all.     Overall a very fun game and a must play if you are a souls fan. Although there are some issues that are very present the game is still a blast and it's easy to sink hours into.

    Despite some annoying performance issues, Elden Ring is a masterpiece. The combat, enemy variety, exploration, music, and open world are top notch. I’ve been playing it daily across all platforms alongside other games all month, and look forward to doing that all year as I try new builds, help friends, and try to do everything I want in this triumph of a video game.

    Elden Ring rewards your curiosity in many ways, be it items, runes or a pathway to another area, but mostly it’s a story to tell your friends when you are sharing tales around the bonfire. It does not force feed tutorials down your throat, but instead it leans far the opposite way by not telling you much at all and lets you explore and find things out on your own. There is no true quest log, no points of interest on a map or no arrows pointing you in the right direction, so there is a good chance you’ll miss some of the best caves and areas of the game. Because of all of this, Elden Ring is forcing me to find all of that out on my own and it is one of the most rewarding games I have ever played. I will continue to explore the Land Between for many hours to come. I’m just not in a hurry.

    Elden Ring manages to draw the player into a fascinating world for many hours, with refined gameplay that fits perfectly with the freedom granted to the player. A sumptuous but imperfect work, which fails to completely overcome some of the historical flaws of Hidetaka Miyazaki's productions. Flaws that, however, can't diminish the scope of a masterpiece destined to leave an indelible mark on the videogame world and to set new standards for the souls-like and open-world genres.
