    I 100%'d this game a while ago, and I just love it to bits. not nearly as good as Breath Of The Wild obviously, but it is my favorite Mario game.

    You know you can expect high quality for a flagship Mario game, and this game is no different. It's a very polished experience with great visuals, soundtrack and gameplay (including coop gameplay).

    However, it's a bit too easy for my taste and personally I don't find any replayability whatsoever in this game which is a bit of a let down.

    Perfection. Some people say it’s too easy, but the less difficult sections are countered by pull-out-your-hair sections that keep you in check, balanced by jaw-dropping sequences and evolving game mechanics. The most fun I’ve had with a game in 30 years.

    Este é o Mário 128, melhor jogo do Mário que já joguei, usa a tecnologia de Rumble HD e muito bem, a história é a mesma mas tem contradições que me faz jogar de novo o jogo, a gameplay é a melhor todas, só um chapéu muda toda a gameplay, este jogo é perfeito como foi o Mário 64. 10/10

    Es uno de los mejores juegos de Mario que he jugado sin duda, lo tiene todo y el gameplay es maravilloso, me encanta como es que los saltos y diferentes técnicas en este juego funcionan, termine el juego ya hace un año y medio pero hasta ahora estoy haciendo esta recién porque lo volví a jugar, sin duda mi juego favorito de los últimos años, y en mi opinión el mejor juego de la Switch,Es uno de los mejores juegos de Mario que he jugado sin duda, lo tiene todo y el gameplay es maravilloso, me encanta como es que los saltos y diferentes técnicas en este juego funcionan, termine el juego ya hace un año y medio pero hasta ahora estoy haciendo esta recién porque lo volví a jugar, sin duda mi juego favorito de los últimos años, y en mi opinión el mejor juego de la Switch, también me gusto mucho BOTW pero disfrute un poco más Mario odyssey, lo recomiendo aunque ya vaya a cumplir sus dos años.     This was my first mario game, but by the end of it I felt like I'd always known mario. The nostalgia trip in New donk city is amazing! The game's difficulty is also really well balanced, there are a lot of easy moons for beginners, but if you want a challenge, some of the moond and levels are infuriatingly challenging. Incredible replayability.

    Took me forever to get into this game (I was only really sold once I reached the water kingdom) but man I love this. To me, it has some of the same elements that made Breath of the Wild a masterpiece - lots of freedom for me to decide what I want to do next, vast world with lots of secrets and tips and tricks, very creative and fun puzzles. I'm so thankful for the Assist mode. I'm reallyTook me forever to get into this game (I was only really sold once I reached the water kingdom) but man I love this.     I loved playing this Mario game, but I feel that Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 on the Wii are still my favourite Mario games (maybe Mario 64 as well) as they were part of my early childhood. Innovative as any Mario game, the lack of powerups may have brung my interest down a bit, let alone the score down one. 9/10
    Great game, but it could be better.

    The game is overrated and is not fun to play, cappy is the biggest garbage of the history and it has no Replay value. omg my spelling sucks in this moment. Sorry but i have a big list of things that i hate about this game.

    This game is unplayable without motion controls and detached joycons. Not only that, but the game constantly reminds you to use them, insultingly so. I own a switch lite, which means that playing this game is not possible for me. Technically you can play some of the game without them, but not all of it- as there are hidden places and stars that cannot be obtained without them.     What a truly phenomenal game. It was so clear throughout the entire journey that so much love went into this game, and this was the first Mario game in a long time that really had me hooked the entire journey. I can not recommend this game enough and would highly recommend any Switch owner to buy this game ASAP!

    This game is such a joy. The team at Nintendo continues to amaze in terms of the creativity. Amazing level design and variety. Amazing visuals. And it came out in the first year of the Switch's life cycle which is insane.

    The best Mario game ever made. It takes the tried and tested formula and adds the small twist of being able to capture enemies which gives the game this whole new fresh feeling. In the past few years it’s the only game I have wanted to 100% complete to the maximum.

    My boy Mario is back at it again. So much fun and nostalgic feels all up in there folks. The gameplay and music is very well done. The story is classic and iconic with some twists here and there you may not expect. I love it and would recommend to Mario fans and just people who love games! Stay safe out there.

    I enjoy open world collectathon games and oh boy did I enjoy mario odyssey. Overall top tier 3D Mario game. Doesn’t really have that much replay value after collecting everything except if you like to speed run games.

A lot of people. think that because the switch doesn't have such a high resolution as other consoles, it means they cant have good graphics And Mario Oddysey proves these people wrong. From the beautiful landscape to the hyper-realistic textures of the characters, this game is a treat to your eyes.

    And then, in my opinion, the best part of the game, the controls. The sharp and fluent controls of Mario are strengthed by his latest companion. Cappy. Thanks to this hat with an M on it that is controlled by a living ghost also in the shape of a hat (Never thought I'd have to type that) You feel in control at all times. It helps you maneuver and re-position yourself in a way that never makes death feel unfair or something. If you die in this game, You know you screwed up. And because you can also jump on Cappy, It makes previously impossible jumps now a piece of cake.

    One of the most creative aspects of This absolute masterpiece is the capturing aspect. With the help of Cappy, You can capture and control other creatures. I can't describe how fun that is. Like come on, You can be a FREAKIN T-REX.

    In conclusion, You HAVE TO play Mario Oddysey. Even if you don't like platformers, you still should. And even if you don't have a switch, you should still buy it. Yes, this game is SO good you should buy a whole new console to play it. I'm sticking with that.    … Expand

    As someone who grew up playing Super Mario 64 and then having only played bits of the other Mario games (besides the old school ones) I found this game to be actually pretty amazing. We all know that the creators of these games always knock it out of the park with it's creativity and grand scale but I truly believe they went beyond what most games are even capable of making. There aren’t any of them that are too tricky which might not be for everyone, but for me each one felt special. There’s like a billion different costumes and collectibles and they’re really fun to pick up. TheThis game is fantastic.     This game is complete TRASH. Exploration is bland, everything is so boring. BUT that's not the worst part, the 2D sections can go into a fire and BURN. You have to use a thumb stick, dose Nintendo think it's to hard to Switch to your D pad for the 2D sections? Than WHY can you use it in the menu? It just makes no sense. WHY would Nintendo do this?

Pretty much every kingdom here is a blast to play through.. the graphics are great and there is a massive post game with over 800 moons to collect once you've finished. No surprise I have spent about 400Super Mario Odyssey is the spiritual successor to games like Super Mario 64 and Sunshine and its pays homage to them in many ways while also managing to improve on them in many ways. Pretty much every kingdom here is a blast to play through.. the graphics are great and there is a massive post game with over 800 moons to collect once you've finished. No surprise I have spent about 400 hours on it. Not to mention how great the movement is in this game.. considering I've speedran it a lot I can tell you it gets insane at points.. espiacially when spin pounds, rainbow twirls and ALL OF TE THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH THTA HAT come in.

    God, this game is so good. I think it has its flaws but overall it is a masterpiece in my opinion.
    Gameplay wise it innovates a lot and, even though we'd already seen an open world mario in the past this is like an upgrade of sunshine's and 64's open world, because their world feel alive and not empty , it also obligates us to explore the world. I'll talk about the moons later. Its motion controls can feel annoying and forced if you don't like them, but if you do like it it feels pretty funny to use. And cappy my goodness is so fun to use, it is a great way to get enemies out of the way. It also provides a new way of moving from place to place and if you learn how to use it properly you can do huge jumps.

    The moons are a good replacement of the stars but not the best it could be. There are worlds with such obvious moons that you could get to the end of the game without even exploring and you can also buy them. I know that this game is also for kids but they could also have also made the game a bit more difficult. But if you want to have all the moons it'll be more difficult and sometimes you will explore every single corner of the worlds.

    The purple coins is a perfect collectable for this game, they fell rewarding as you gain them, they're difficult to find (sometimes) and they can be used as money to buy clothings. There is not much to say 'bout this but that they are a perfect addition to the game.

    I love the worlds of this game, I don't understand why people hate new donk city. These worlds are vivid, it's inhabitants are so charming, most of them never feel empty and you always feel as if you were in totally different world. But there are some worlds that lack of things to do and the worst thing is that they had potential of being one of the best kingdoms in the entire game.

    The score is beautiful and matches every kingdom perfectly, the graphics are gorgeous for what we've seen in a Mario game even with its downgrades. The level design is perfect as all Mario games, and the new enemies are fantastic.

    The story is simple as all Mario games but it fells natural so, I don't have any problems with it.
    And for last and not least the boss battles; the broodals are an interesting subject and they're funny the first time you fight them, but then they feel repetitive and boring. And the other bosses are so fun and creative. The final boss is quite easy you fight bowser twice and both are pretty easy which is no good even though it feels rewarding I expected more. But when I thought I finished the game, we capture bowser and we try to escape the moon. I loved the theme and gameplay wise it was a fantastic experience and then you finished the game.

    The Nintendo Switch is my first Nintendo console I've played on and this game is an AMAZING introduction to the world of Nintendo, the music, characters, and mechanics all come together to make such an amazing experience for the player. I used not like collecting stuff in games I would just go from main quest to main quest but in Odyssey I'm trying my hardest to get    Fantastic game!

    Masterfully crafted. The mechanics and controls are the most satisfying I've ever used, and the most fun. It has so much potential in what you can do gameplay wise. That's not even mentioning the very likeable and unique characters you encounter throughout the game, breaking the relative monotony of some other Mario games.

    Another overrated mediocre game. Fillers are widespread rather than careful designs. Just look at are the boss battles, in three different stages, you have the same strategy to fight the boss (except the robot which is the best boss). You have to beat many bosses twice, even including the final boss. A lot of moon collections are also repetitive.

Other moons require things like collecting a series of music notes, opening random treasure chests, or making female goombas fall in love with you. You can just do a bunch of those tasks until you get to Bowser. You can go into a world that has a huge problem on their hands, do some random stuff to get moons, and then say "OK bye, deal with it yourself". One thing I see a lot of content creators praising the game for is attention to detail, like how there are three different ways to enter the Odyssey or some small aesthetic things. Things like this are good to have in games, but I largely prefer greater aspects of the game. Another thing I want to mention, and this isn't going to affect the score I give the game, is that Mario's voice clip for throwing Cappy is extremely irritating. One thing I will give this game credit for is the movement. It is very fun to move around in this game and while Mario is still missing some moves such as diving, spinning, and punching, the moveset is completely okay and I'm glad the developers didn't make the game easier than it already is by adding more moves. The game's soundtrack is okay. I honestly can't find many pieces that I find particularly good, although there are some. Especially after playing Galaxy, I did expect more from Odyssey's soundtrack. Most pieces are just OK. Overall, this game didn't live up to the hype. It's pretty short and, like I mentioned earlier, lacks personality. I can't see anyone in the future talking about this game and saying things like "I could never beat this section", "this part was super annoying", or "this character was really funny". It's not that I necessarily want a game to have bad game design or rage-worthy sections, just that I want it to be memorable. Sometimes annoying things like that help it and in the end make good memories. Otherwise, just make characters with more personality, or give more variety in its objectives. Super Mario 64, Sunshine, Galaxy, and Galaxy 2 all had things like this: unique objectives, variety, annoying levels etc., and those games have produced many fond memories: the victory of finally clearing a hard section, the laughs that some characters got out of me and others, and the fun of experiencing new types pf gameplay throughout the game.     Very cute and charming platformer. Interesting interaction with a talking hat, well-constructed levels. Weak point-boring and very easy bosses and tedious collecting moons.

    How Mario moves, the level design, the music and the capture mechanic is world class. It was fantastic how you can have a second player as cappy.
    The issue I have is forced motion controls. There are plenty of buttons, can't the player choose between motion or button pressing? I also have an issue that some moves cannot be done done in two player mode and    This game is a system seller!

    The moons are the main collectible and is highly motivating to go exploring. I find about 50 moons far too easy to obtain and about 100 too tedious or difficult. Do I really need to bounce a ball 100 times for a moon?

    It’s only okay, I don’t really care for it, I think it’s a decent Mario game, I’m glad people like it but it just isn’t for me, it has a lot of great stuff but I wouldn’t recommend it if it’s still at 60 dollars and you want to give it to a kid.

Playing with a buddy as "cappy" is also brilliant fun and the levels are big enough with plenty to explore and do.

The spirit of the Mario franchise is fully realized in what is most definitely the best entry in the franchise yet, in terms of looks, and game play.     One of the best games I have ever played. The level of quality on this title is superior. Invested close to 90 hours to complete it at 100%. It becomes really challenging if you want to do that but this never takes the fun away.

    This game truly feels like a love letter to those who grew up playing 3D Mario games, and they crank it up to 11 hear with a lot of stuff to do even after beating the story. It's colorful 3D platforming at it's absolute finest.

    This game is a masterpiece. Nintendo really put a lot into making this game which makes it almost impossible for me to find anything bad about this game. If you ever buy a switch this is the first game I suggest to get with it as it is good for beginners and pros

    This has is "THE MODERN PLATFORMER" game. If it would be the single reason to buy Nintendo Switch, it's still would pay off and be worth it. Absolutely brilliant. Mario's story is fun, the cap as sidekick is magnificent and the gameplay is soo good.

    This game is so overrated. It's really easy, and most moons are way too easy to find. This game was pretty fun to play through, but this game is short. Like ten hours short. I hear everyone going on about how amazing the endgame is! But it isn't fun. It's just a repititive collectathon. I had my fun with it. But its way too short.

    Thought this was a decent mario game, not the best levels or most memorable, mario controls really well and its fun to pull off moves to zip around the levels, but the level designs are too simple and the over-abundance of moons diminishes the feeling of getting one. I dont really see myself coming back to play this too much but overall i still thought it was a good game, just not a masterpiece

    yes this is super low because i'm not a fan of Nintendo but i wanted to try Mario and it failed an important mission which is to draw in new fans. the formula is still old but the controlling hat is a nice idea. don't take my opinion this game is not for me but might be for you

    Doesn't do much to differ from older games. It's basically Mario Galaxy but better on a better system, with other expected improvements.

    It's good and all, but for me the formula is a little aged by now. Jump on enemies, maybe smack 'em with a hat fiest. That's it though, nothing new. I suppose if it ain't broke, don't fix it?

    Just a joy. This is as good as 3D platformers gets for me, I think. I played through it in bits and pieces between other games that demanded a greater commitment of my time (e.g. BOTW).

    I've never played such a fun game in my life.
    No matter how much fun a game is, you'll get tired of it once or twice, but this Super Mario Odyssey never gets tired of it even if you 100 times. Of course, I don't get tired of Zelda's legends hundreds of times. That's the advantage of the Nintendo switch.

    While it was difficult to imagine how Nintendo could top previous 3D Mario adventures, Super Mario Odyssey is nigh-on perfect in almost every way. With the help of Cappy, Mario has never been as fun to control, reaching new heights and, in the hands of a skilled player, accomplishing impossible skips. You need only pick up a controller to see why this is the best modern Mario game ever.

    The best entry to the best platforming series is so ridiculously huge it’s like a theme park made of theme parks. It’s a wonderful tribute to Super Mario 64, but it’s not a lazy homage.
