    that game feels like a total knock off of Sonic adventures 1 and 2 cause it is and some of the gameplay feels like it ripped off Sonic adventure as well. I’m surprised that those so called critics have not noticed about it. And a living hat, I’ve never seen anything so dumb in a video game. that game deserves a lower ranking than what it’s received.

    Mesmo depois de 10 anos , a serie Super Mario não perde a inovação e a reciclagem de fases, o que torna o jogo muito mais nostálgico. A 10 anos atras quando lançou o Super Mario Galaxy, foi a mesma sensação ao ver um jogo 3D com elementos que caracterizam. A historia como sempre é a mesma, mas não deixa de ser divertido com uma dinâmica diferente em cada titulo.     I have already done 4 kingdoms and I have to say that this is the most impressed I have been with a Super Mario game since Galaxy! There is originality everywhere! The new capture mechanic is fun, inventive and keeps the fame fresh. Like BOTW, the openness Is mastered beautifully and full of delightful distractions from the main quest. Love the character customisation as a neat additionI have already done 4 kingdoms and I have to say that this is the most impressed I have been with a Super Mario game since Galaxy! There is originality everywhere! The new capture mechanic is fun, inventive and keeps the fame fresh. Like BOTW, the openness Is mastered beautifully and full of delightful distractions from the main quest. Love the character customisation as a neat addition too. Controls perfectly even with motion controls. Fun boss fights and the game looks beautiful and the music is brilliant!

    It's okay. It's an okay game. It's decently fun. I am utterly blown away by the absurdly positive response this is getting critically, though. I'm baffled. It's unambitious, the level design isn't really all that interesting, but the aesthetic is nice and consistent. The game play feels a bit like a slog, to be honest. I'm putting it at 8/10 because, like, it's perfectly good. It's a goodIt's okay. It's an okay game. It's decently fun.     There is really only one question you have to answer to determine whether or not Odyssey is worth playing: have you ever enjoyed a 3D platformer? That really is the only barrier to entry. Halfway through the game, though far from halfway through the content, this game is simply a pleasure. Mario controls better than ever, and has more moves and transformations than ever before.     This game is amazing, I cannot stop playing it! It feels so fresh, yet it has so much nostalgia on it... I don't know, it's hard to express with words what this game is, it's beautiful, a master piece. There is a lot of exploration involved in it and the variety of situations for finding moons is astonishing. Transforming into different things is just magical, going from the frog which isThis game is amazing, I cannot stop playing it! It feels so fresh, yet it has so much nostalgia on it... I don't know, it's hard to express with words what this game is, it's beautiful, a master piece. There is a lot of exploration involved in it and the variety of situations for finding moons is astonishing. Transforming into different things is just magical, going from the frog which is your first transformation to a T-Rex, a Chain Chomp, a Winged Goomba... If you own a Nintendo Switch, this game is a must-have. If you don't, this game can make you consider getting this console.

    The only negative thing is that without using the 2 Joycons (when using the Pro controller, for instance), you don't have all the options to control your cap, but it's still perfectly fine. I don't know, that's just for saying something, because I don't find flaws in this game! It has renewed platform games, it has opened a world for them, like Zelda BOTW did with its genre.     It´s Incredible! I can't imagine how this game can give to many hours of gameplay and fun. Mario games has more than 20 year of history, but every game that Nintendo make about this franchise is amazing.

    The best game of this year, easily! The story is the most unique and fun Mario story so far. The graphics were amazing, in both portable mode and on the TV. The gameplay is new and great. The use of Cappy is helpful and a big part of what makes this game Mario's most exciting game yet. It was easily worth buying.

    Everyone who says this game sucks is a PS4 fan. There is no way this game is that bad, honestly. Every minute of this game is great for anyone. It is a true masterpiece, and I love it. Go Nintendo! (Be quiet, Sony. You'll get your turn if you make LBP5.)

    Un juego fantástico en todos sus apartados en donde una jubabilidad perfecta se combina con un ost exquisito, un estilo artístico precioso, una exploración magnífica y un trabajo mimado hasta el último detalle.
    El mejor juego de Mario creado hasta la época y junta a Legend of Zelda BotW hacen una combinación perfecta para tener un montón de horas de pura diversión.

    El mejor y más completo juego de Mario en 3D, gráficos de obra de arte, humor, banda sonora deslumbrante, libertad total y jugabilidad sencillamente perfecta. Un 10, aunque para mi Zelda Breath of the Wild es un 10,01.

    este es un juego como el que nunca antes se ha visto, tiene hermosos graficos, es muy divertido porque al final por eso se llama juego para entretenerte no para aburrirte con graficos realistas.

    There are several frame rate drops and it seems that the game does not run at 60fps.

    The game camera is extremely bad. At times it gets in the way and you end up dying depending on what you are doing.

    Anyway ... the game is nice but not for a 10 or 9.7 note ... Nintendo have done it again this is the best mario game since Super Mario Galaxy it's truly amazing the style is similar to the likes of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine this brings great joy to say that if you've played and liked those games you'll love this. Of course now it's even more pretty! the visuals are simply attractive and beautiful. For sure theThis is simply genius.     However the mario gameplay style in this game is quite unique and genius at the same time by using your cap you can use the action "capture" to for example be in control of a goomba or even a cheep cheep, I mean wow... I've always wanted to be one of those, also who would've imagined that you could even be in control of the humans it's very interesting and very exciting on what this capture action can do and gives us nintendo switch players a brand new way to play and explore new things.

    Mario is trying to save Princess Peach from Bowser as Bowser is trying to marry her the plot is actually a little different although it's still the same "save peach scenario" which still works as you have to fight through multiple boss battles although I feel as if it's quite easy to beat them but overall I find the game so easy to just explore and have fun it's the most exciting game in years. This is a true 3D mario game that's for sure, I recommend picking it up as you'll have hours of fun with this and explore and find all those power moons, if you don't have a nintendo switch right now this is the perfect excuse to get one.    … Expand

    I am about 14 hours into the game and I still haven't left the 2nd world looking for all of the "power moons" (This games equivalent to Power Stars from 64) The only Con so far is the "motion controls" that are not option-able.     EXCELENTE es una pieza de arte, después de Super Mario World y Mario Bros. 3, es el MEJOR Mario, esas escenas retro que nos recuerdan al primer Mario en la NES. Gracias NINTENDO ahora si a darle uso diario a mi Nintendo Switch.

Cinematic single player games that look more like movies, no gameplay appeal, stuffed with quick time events, have their audiences of course, but they are already getting boring. They don't require player skill, don't have replay value.

    Just like the new Zelda, Super Mario Odyssey is an immense evolution in the franchise as far as gameplay is concerned, with fun environments; charismatic characters; It's a lot of fun to play.

    The creativity in the gameplay is out of this world. And I don't think another developer will get to the feet of Nintendo in this matter, because the company knows how to make good games and knows that the real focus should be the gameplay.

    Super Mario Odyssey is a masterpiece that only Nintendo can surpass itself in platform games.

    I hope Donkey Kong will be the next victim of this perfection :)    … Expand

    The design of the adventure experience is exceptional genius. Big leap from the Mario 64 genre to a refreshing open world exploration. Move set is easy to learn but hard to master. Its fun and the fun is all it matters.

    Super Mario Odyessey is the pinnacle of what a 3D mario adventure can be. With polished mechanics that include a plethora of refined jumps and captures, to just simple smile all the time fun with the games host of lovable characters, this is one adventure I just cant put down. This IS the new 64.

It suffers the same fate as Mario Sunshine in that it's a grab bag of gaming cliches that have nothing to do with what you'd expect from an actual Super Mario game. SMO feels very much like this, and to add insult to injury, it fails to even take into consideration the last 15 years of game design developments since Mario Sunshine. It is a game that would have felt right at home on the Gamecube with its small levels, world hub design, and distinct lack of intrinsic Mario game elements.

    Is it a bad game? Certainly not. It's just not thoughtful enough to genuinely be worthy of Nintendo's flagship franchise. They've never been quite this careless with a Mario game, and it shows. Wait until this one is in the $30 bin.    … Expand

    Simplesmente o melhor jogo de Mario de todos os tempos.

    Gráficos maravilhosos, trilha sonora espetacular, jogabilidade que lembra de Mario 64 fazem desse titulo sem dúvida o melhor e MAIOR jogo de Mario de todos os tempos!!!

    Hacia mucho tiempo que no me sentía tan emocionado por una nueva entrega de la franquicia, tanto hype desde su anuncio y debo decir que esta al 100% justificado, el diseño de niveles, la jugabilidad, es un completo placer controlar a mario en esta entrega, me he llevado muchas sorpresas agradables mediante el juego e incluso nostalgia al homenajear a juegos pasados, la gorra (Cappy) vieneHacia mucho tiempo que no me sentía tan emocionado por una nueva entrega de la franquicia, tanto hype desde su anuncio y debo decir que esta al 100% justificado, el diseño de niveles, la jugabilidad, es un completo placer controlar a mario en esta entrega, me he llevado muchas sorpresas agradables mediante el juego e incluso nostalgia al homenajear a juegos pasados, la gorra (Cappy) viene a dar nuevos aires a la franquicia y su uso se vuelve natural y se recibe de muy buena manera. Tenemos un montón de lunas por recolectar y si bien la historia principal no es la mas larga o profunda del mundo de los videojuegos al finalizarla el juego apenas comienza ya que un montón de nuevas lunas por recolectar a parecen y nuevos retos con un poco mas de dificultad. Me hubiera gustado que algunos reinos fueran mas extensos ya que unos son bastante complejos y llenos de secretos y otros se quedan un tanto cortos sin embargo este juego pinta como una nueva revolución en el mundo de super mario bros, sin duda un juego que debes tener si eres poseedor de un nintendo switch, o un nuevo motivo aparte de breath of the wild para adquirir tu consola estas navidades.… Expand

    About 6 hours in and i have barely noticed the time going by. This is a HIGH quality game. Nintendo has taken the 3D Mario experience to the next level. There's so much to do and LOTS of hidden secrets everywhere to be found, New features, the ability to change clothes etc.. Ignore the PS fan boy **** attempting to sabotage the score because it's a Nintendo game, I've the new AssassinsAbout 6 hours in and i have barely noticed the time going by. This is a HIGH quality game. Nintendo has taken the 3D Mario experience to the next level. There's so much to do and LOTS of hidden secrets everywhere to be found, New features, the ability to change clothes etc.. Ignore the PS fan boy **** attempting to sabotage the score because it's a Nintendo game, I've the new Assassins creed sitting there not even out of the wrapper.     Forced motion controls are a thing in this game. Yep, others will say you can turn them off, and yes there is definitely an option for that except....it doesn't turn them off. You still readjust yourself and end up throwing your hat. Not to mention the accuracy of reading the motion controls leaves something strong to be desired. Often you will do something completely different than you were expecting because it read your motions incorrectly. This is compounded by the fact that there are some moves that are LITERALLY NOT AVAILABLE to users who don't use motion controls. Example: You flick the joycon to throw your hat. This works pretty well and when you flick your joycon again in midair it turns the hat into a homing missile. Very handy. So you flick once, and then flick again in midair (same action both times). But if you throw your hat with Y (since you dont want to use motion controls) it throws the hat, but the homing missile option isn't even available unless you actually flick your wrist. it's not like it lets you just press Y again midair. This makes no sense and really hampers a game that truly revolves around its controls and their response. Motion controls, until they can guarantee accuracy at the same levels of button presses need to only be an OPTION in games. Especially in a platformer.

    Next negative: It isn't open world, no matter what you read. The game is split into "kingdoms" (these are just levels). The levels themselves are fairly open with no direction, and there's a fair amount to do in an area after gettin enough moons to move on, but it is decidedly not an open world. I was hoping they would go sort of the direction that the lego games do - open level designs, but also a huge open world with puzzles that is how you traverse to the levels of the game.

    The sounds are great but the graphics are "meh". The game can't manage to run at 1080p for some reason, and has quite low res textures, very similar to the low res textures in BOTW. Disappointing.

    The game is a solid mario product and very fun, the mechanics of gameplay and the different abilities that can be utilized by possessing different creatures is the primary new thing in this mario game. It could have been better, should have been better but still a recommended purchase.

    Don't believe the hype train that says this game is the best game ever. it is a slightly enhanced mario game that follows every mechanic in games before (with the one exception of gaining new abilities by possession, but even this has been partially explored before in this franchise). It's a fun game and very enjoyable but there is very little new here or anything that made me go "wow".    … Expand

    So far I'm in about 8 hours and I'm loving every second of this game. the fact it has a smooth 60 fps also adds to the enjoyment. you can really tell that Nintendo really put some time and effort into this game as they have really pushed the switch with this game which is what I want to see from a 1st party release, the unity of hardware and software together as one.

    Some have complained about the graphics being low res however even when playing docked on a 4k TV I struggled to be over critical of the graphics especially when I'm hyper focused on gameplay the story is compelling and if you are a completionist this is the next game for you as there are so many extra hidden power moons in each level than the ones needed to move on to the next world.

    This game also gave me major nostalgia back to super Mario 64 from my childhood as soon as I put the cartridge in it felt instantly familiar. So if you loved that game or any of the other super mario 3d exploration games like sunshine or galaxy then defiantly give this a whirl you won't regret it and you'll find yourself like me wondering where the last 8 hours went!

    To sum up this really is a killer app for s switch and hopefully helps establish switch to stay around for a while and shift some more systems this Christmas. also hopefully it attracts some attention from 3rd party dens to make some more epic game for this awesome little console.    … Expand

    What an amazing experience this game has been, it it without a doubt the most refined Mario game of all time, the controls feel so tight it's incredible. Level design is top notch and the great music helps you get even more sucked into the genius world Nintendo has crafted here. I can see my self easily pouring 100+ hours in this game. Must buy.

    I understand the criticism pertaining to the difficulty level (bosses really are too easy), but how could anyone dislike this fantastic, colorful and funny game? Probably the best in the series. It brings you to a fantastic world with tons of things to do. Gathering all collectibles without reading a guide will be rather difficult, I love it.

    I might not have played the 64 version of Super Mario 64 but I did play the DS version and this game just oozes references to that great game and it's just amazing I would recommend it to anyone who asks 10 out of 10 that's not to say the game is without fail though.

My only complaints would be that the worlds are so big sometimes, that it can feel empty, or get cluttered with a bunch of things in one area. Also, despite being a Mario game, there's an active lack of platforming in some kingdoms, in exchange for Cappy's capture gimmick. And Moon collecting can get a little repetitive with repeat missions. These are the things that I would say hold the game back from being at it's best, but no game goes without it's flaws. Super Mario Odyssey is a breath of fresh air in the long running series, and whether you're a fan of Mario, or need a fix for games, this is something no Switch owner would want to miss.… Expand

    Fantastic game. Amazing to have Mario back in a sandbox environment. So much to do, so much to explore and so much fun to have. The worlds ar vibrant and diverse, there's so many collectibles and the levels have so much variations. Bosses are cleverly made and all the quests will make this game playable for a long time. This is the best Mario game since 64. Just play it.

    There's only one thing to say about odyssey it amazes me like Super Mario 64 amazed me 1996. It is redefining the genre, an absolute instant classic. The graphics are almost to good for that tiny switch, constant 60 Frames and perfect control over mario, playing with a controller was never so satisfying.

    I've been sceptical about that game since the canticles in advance where that high, hyping the game. But now I know these were not just hype, but appropriate for that masterpiece in video gaming.

    To be honest, I was really struggling about buying this game, but I am REALLY glad that I did! Nintendo really knows how to optimize a game to the best. Feels good to play this game in 60FPS.     To be honest, I was really struggling about buying this game, but I am REALLY glad that I did!
    Nintendo really knows how to optimize a game to the best. Feels good to play this game in 60FPS. The first Mario actually to run at 60FPS.

    Playing SMO after Knack 2 is like eating a proper food after consumed 1 ton of grass. The level design in this game is second to none, the amount of details and unique things in SMO truly made it the exploration became more satisfying compared to previous 3d Mario games. 10/10

    This game is fantastic. This game is honestly what I wanted from Mario. It has been so long since I have been this hyped for a Mario. It's absolutely ridiculous. I cannot believe this is happening.

    its pretty good. A bit easy. a bit of a grind. But extremely fun. worth every buck for your muck for switch owners. Does it justify a switch purchase? It really depends on how much you like platformers or value a games difficulty. I personally don't mind too much. But that is just me.

Super Mario Odyssey attempts to bring new ideas to the table without going overboard and right away it just straight out worked. Sure the changes to certain Mario gameplay may be a huge hit-in-the-spot, but you can easily ignore all of this game's problems due to the way thisHere we are, guys.     While it was difficult to imagine how Nintendo could top previous 3D Mario adventures, Super Mario Odyssey is nigh-on perfect in almost every way. With the help of Cappy, Mario has never been as fun to control, reaching new heights and, in the hands of a skilled player, accomplishing impossible skips. You need only pick up a controller to see why this is the best modern Mario game ever.

    The best entry to the best platforming series is so ridiculously huge it’s like a theme park made of theme parks. It’s a wonderful tribute to Super Mario 64, but it’s not a lazy homage. Super Mario Odyssey draws inspiration from the superb classic to top it and everything that came after it. [13/2017, p.38]
