    This game is REALLY awesome. I don't see how people could give this absolute masterpiece a 0! Also, the soundtrack hits! I also really enjoyed the final boss! I currently have 722 power moons and I loved every bit of finding them!

    Visuals are beautiful, soundtrack is elegant, and worlds are expertly designed. Nintendo has made it their life's goal to make sure every player get their own experience in discovering the game. It makes the player feel great, and they get rewarded for secrets the developer didn't even think to be possible.

    After playing the legendary Zelda BOTW, Mario is like a heavenly dessert.

    My 2nd Journey on Switch and it's just "Mama Mia" All levels are well made and optimize which I love all of them, none of them were bad or least favorite to me. Mario Odyssey has crazy level design which I keep saying to myself "How did they make it like that?" They also create numerous way for you to be creative in every level where that creativity will surely leads you to the moon with an unexpected way. Then, later you learn that the game provide you the proper way to get the moon but who cares? Odyssey encourage you to think outside the box and just be free.

    Cannot fully explain how good this game is where you need to try it yourself and just dive in the world of Odyssey. Pure fun, creativity and excitement from start to end.    … Expand

    This game felt pretty short and 'lightly' done -- which is good in a way, it doesn't overstay... but also felt pretty expensive for the time considering comparable games. I'm also not a huge fan of Switch controls, which feel like toys compared to the old consoles, and almost every difficult bit in this is down to.

    Mario odyssey is a once in a lifetime game. a game you pick up, and don't put down. i would happily play this game 100 times over (though i do like trying other games too). unfortunately i lack the patience to get all 999 moons. though i wish i could

    Ah, the wonderful expedition! Seriously though, this game is amazing, the landscapes, the residents, the ending is all amzing! Pick up this game if you haven't! Hell, pick up a switch just for this game! There's a reason it won navgtrs's goty! The nitpick i have about this game is how expensive some of the costumes are, but its just a cosmetic. I don't need it!

    This game was AMAZING to play, truly one of Nintendo's best switch games. I think what there is great, with amazing graphics (for a switch game), really fun world design, great bosses, fun gimmicks, and just an all-around great time. My only issue is I don't think it has as much replicability once you beat the final bosses and darker side. With other games like Mario Maker 2 or Mario kartThis game was AMAZING to play, truly one of Nintendo's best switch games. I think what there is great, with amazing graphics (for a switch game), really fun world design, great bosses, fun gimmicks, and just an all-around great time.     This is my first take on a 3d Mario adventure and I must say that playing this game expanded my horizons in gaming. I enjoyed the gameplay a lot and by the time I finished it, I wanna challenge myself in getting all of the collectibles. After I finish this, I will consider playing the previous games of Mario with the same gameplay.

    la historia es simple pero no es mi queja tampoco por que en muchos juegos de mario que me gustan tambien tienen una historia simple.
    pero jugablemente me parecio un poco repetitivo y en alguinas partes aburrido

    It's just a perfect Mario. It's long, fun, and never boring. Well, some moons are stupid, but it does not remove anything from this game. I never thought a Mario could surpass Galaxy, but it did.

    Mario odyssey is a fun game which uses creative mechanic of Cappy. It’s really enjoyable as you collect moons to get on to the next stage, but this game is too short and it’s boring, hard and frustrating to collect all 999 moons.

    This game includes many good mechanics, but is not as good as it promised to be. Many moons that appear after you beat the game are very boring to get, and some easy. I think that Nintendo should have reduced the moons that appear after you complete the game.

    Also, the bosses are thrash and the Bowser battle is the worst in all Mario series (in my opinion). I have 100% the game collecting all the 999 moons and all region coins as well as getting all achievements in Luigi"s balloon world and I had a blast doing all of it. the game feels rewarding and you can take it at your own pace and there is always stuff to do. I really promotes exploration and all the levels are so unique and interesting that you want to seeThis game is a work of art.     Best 3D mario game to date, very fun and fluid movement that makes me pee my pants. My only criticism is that after beating the main story, the game gets quickly stale, and hunting for moons is a chore, and makes me aggressively poo my pants.

    ALSO THE PLANDEMIC AND THE MASKS LIKELY SUCKED OUT THE GAME DEVELOPERS BRAINS!

    Super Mario Odyssey was the first switch game I picked up and recently I decided to reboot it and start again. The graphics are superb, it holds a storyline that kept me captivated and contained a great blend of some easy, and some frustratingly (and excitedly) difficult levels to captivate even the non-completionists.     This game is great. If you own a switch then this is a must have. My only drawback for this game is that while Cappy allows for some really cool movement, the game rarely uses it as a mechanic. Once you know how to do some tricks with Cappy the platforming sections become way easier.

    If you hate this game you are not human this game is really really fun with a stellar soundtrack and a charming (not original) story with so much content making this my second most played game ever and my favourite and by far the best game of all time and now I have a cappy hat irl from target 20 bucks 10 out of 10

Mario Odyssey is no exception. The game is a spectacular return to the 3D Mario formula that was established by 64 and expanded on by Sunshine.

    While graphics aren’t the most important thing in    Super Mario Odyssey is an instant classic for Mario and Nintendo fans of all time. The Switch has shown time and time again that with the limitations it has, great games can come from the hybrid. Mario Odyssey is no exception. The game is a spectacular return to the 3D Mario formula that was established by 64 and expanded on by Sunshine.

    While graphics aren’t the most important thing in video games, thay do need to look good. Nintendo pulled off graphics that look both realistic and cartoony. Every single kingdom has its own themes and color palette that differentiates each kingdom. While every ‘bonus room’ looks very similar and simple, they don’t look too bland.

    The controls in Odyssey are fluid and an absolute dream to play with. Just jumping around as Mario is always entertaining, and crappy adds so many new movement options. Not even counting captures, Mario can move in so many new ways and they’re all fun.

    While the captures are fun, they do get stale after some time. It is fun to capture things and move around as them, but some are only used for a few things and the capture mechanic isn’t as fleshed out as i hoped it was. The new enemies are great as usual, but many fan favorites weren’t included.

    The story is basically the same as any other mainline Mario game, and while it gets the job done, I wish it was expanded on a little bit.

    The moons at first are very satisfying to get, but they do get tedious after a while. The ones just floating out in the open without any challenge and seem to only be there to bloat out the moon count are irritating.

    Overall, the game is great to play and control, but it does get bland and stale at times.    … Expand

    A very good reinvention of Super Mario. I hope there will be more of this. Difficulty is on a high level at some points though, and it annoys me that you not all Moons can be found from the start. Some will only appear after clearing the game og the world.

    This game is great. I used to not like it that much because of it being more of a collecathon rather than a platformer. The more I play it, the more I like it and it's really fun to capture enemies as well as collect moons different ways.

    I despise Mario games. I only played this because, and I am being absolutely serious here, the city area is the closest thing to GTA available on the switch. However, despite my hate for all things Mario, this game did surprise me, with beautiful areas, and a bit of engaging gameplay. Personally it was a slog most of the time, so many collectables, and so much challenging platforming. ButI despise Mario games.     I think I just found the PERFECT 3D collect-a-thon platformer! Super Mario Odyssey did so much right! It's fun, it looks AMAZING, the music is awesome (of course, it's Nintendo we're talking about), and SO. MUCH. MORE!

    Excellent Game. Such beautiful platforming in a tight and pretty game. I do wish there was a mode between "assist" and normal mode, because i spend a lot of time listless.... not knowing what to do. Every bit as good as mario 64. Truly a great game.

Nintendo took that potential and made a work of art in 2017. Mario Odyssey is simply the most game feeling game I've ever    What a Masterpiece of a game. This game to me is the apex of everything Mario and then some.

    For the longest time, I wanted a 3D sandbox-like Mario 64 sequel. Mario 64 was so good you couldn't just let it go and the potential was still there to expand the game.

    Nintendo took that potential and made a work of art in 2017.

    Mario Odyssey is simply the most game feeling game I've ever really played. It's a feeling that not even a book or movie can replicate. It uses what makes video games unique and uses them so well.

    Honestly never been a fan of Mario games but still got this when I got my Switch to see what the fuss was about.

    Anyways, guess I'm a Mario fan now. This was incredible and so well balanced with fun stuff to do. There is literally no down time when you get bored. Nintendo really knows what they are doing.

    Mario games have always been great, and Odyssey is a a great game. I loved every second playing it through 3 times since it came out almost 5 years ago. No framlerate issues here. The game looks and play really good and its level designs are well done. Great job Nintendo

    Very nice overall. Good ideas, Puzzles and pretty visuals. It was fun but not challenging enough sometimes. 8/10 because the game in the end wasnt the best Ive had. Id recommend it.

    MAN am I late to the party. I'll admit that I was never keen to play switch games back in high school. Of course I played the occasional round of Smash Bros Ultimate and I was always up for the next new Pokemon game whether it be good, bad, or god-awful. But after playing this game, I've had a change of heart for the switch. For a while, I've been trying to figure out what makes this gameMAN am I late to the party. I'll admit that I was never keen to play switch games back in high school. Of course I played the occasional round of Smash Bros Ultimate and I was always up for the next new Pokemon game whether it be good, bad, or god-awful. But after playing this game, I've had a change of heart for the switch. For a while, I've been trying to figure out what makes this game so enjoyable. And while there are several answers to fill in that blank, even after research I had trouble figuring. On the surface it's just another Mario 64 sequel. You explore new lands, you beat up Bowser's henchmen, you hunt down wascally wabbits...the usual. But what's really great about this one, is that the controls are tighter than ever before. And combined with the abilities of his new buddy Cappy, you can achieve some seriously great platforming feats. I still remember how long it took me to learn the careful timing of the wall jump when I was a just kid and it feels great to master it here. Combined with all the other great mechanics...enemy possession, mini-level challenges...the fact that tossing a hat is equivalent to the force of a kick in the face...that's just good stuff man. At the same, nothing really feels forced in this game. Granted you need a set amount of Power Moons to move on, but nothing feels really restricting. The lack of a live system and plenty of fair check points, makes this adventure feel pretty limitless. In my Super Mario 64 review I complained about how easy it was to die in that game...and for the past 20 years, all of the 3D games had an annoying habit of booting the player out of the level whether they reached the goal or met death. And that back tracking really got on my nerves. Now that it's non existent, I can just focus on collecting as much as I can in each stage. I've said once before that one of the most important elements in game design, is freedom. Whether is comfortable controls or enjoyable mechanics, it's vital to give players the joy of exploring a brand new land. Give them the power to conquer great challenges. Game designers that fail to understand that end up relying on pay-to win systems and outdated gameplay mechanics only focusing on making the big bucks. I can only hope that my favorite electric mouse doesn't end up like the Blue Blur. Setting that aside though, I wouldn't call this my favorite Mario game. And that mainly comes down to the game's theme. Odyssey is blend of cartoons and realism. You've got cartoony Goombas mixed in with scary as hell T-Rexes! And while everything looks really good besides the eyes of the soul stealing human NPCs, it never felt tremendous to me. 64 had a magical castle theme, Sunshine was a vacation, Galaxy had space exploration, while Odyssey is just a world tour. It's a good theme especially when you blend it with realism, creating the idea that Mario is entering our world. However, Galaxy still has the more interesting theme. To call this a successor to Galaxy would be hard to swallow. I'd rather think of this as an evolution of Super Mario 64's format. Yeah, its a shame there's no hub area connecting all the worlds...but with all the Easter Eggs in the Mushroom Kingdom, I'm convinced which fans are going to enjoy this game the most. It's a nice reminder that there's a Mario game for everyone. Since this isn't a serious that focuses heavily on story, I think it's safe to say that the Mario developers should focus on creating new styles of enjoyable gameplay rather than the creating a superior sequel. So what's left to say? Well I will say, that the Metro Kingdom levels are amazing. You get to fight a robotic hell spawn, evade a T-Rex on a moped, play a possible sequel to "Shell Shocked" from Mario Party 2, and "Jump up Superstar"...good Star Spirits I love this musical level...ITS SO GOOD! It just MAKES this game! So now that I'm on board with the awesomeness. I'll be really stoked in they pull a Galaxy 2 and make an incredible sequel to follow. By the way, have you noticed how much lore the Metro Kingdom adds to the DK Country games? Whatever, the best way to play this game is too listen to "Jump Up Superstar" on loop while you play this game. It's like the montage trailer just comes to life. I'm really looking forward to returning to this franchise in the future. I won't spoil the ending this game either, its so ridiculous and awesome at the same time that it deserves to be spoiler free. So for all the new players and returning fans, I highly recommend this game. It takes time to adjust, but once get used to the sweet new controls, you can really dance on air. Nothing's stopping from zipping to one kingdom to the next collecting piles of Power Moons with each leap. And with all the untapped potential to go with this gameplay style...JUST IMAGINE. Mario capturing the Ruined Dragon, fighting ol' Tanga from Super Mario Land 2...I don't have much to complain about. Now I just want to dream(:… Expand

    A "long time no see" sandbox Mario game. This Mario game has again showed the suprise of Mario: gameplay, music, and the technical aspect, I was blown by the 3D-2D transition in some stage. I was thinking how d they do that??!??

    An incredibly great game. The graphics, the design, the levels, the ideas ... in general everything about the game fits perfectly. The only thing which is really sad: the game is really short and really easy, it was forgotten very fast after I finished it.

    One of the best (if not the best) Mario games ever. It's crazy to see how big and popular Mario has become since Super Mario 64. The graphics in the games have improved quite substantially. Super Mario Odyssey has very good areas to explore, too. The developers did a good job on it, for sure.

    Look, i am not gonna beat around the bush. This is an excellent Mario game for sure. Its polished, the Cappy mechanic is fanastic, the levels are super memorable and it also seems Myamoto can finally accept a little bit of a Story in a Mario game.
    I do find Power Moons to be unique and nice, but there are def far too many of them.

    Mi primer videojuego de Mario y me divertí mucho jugando, me encanta que cada mundo sea único con puzzles entretenidos y niveles de plataforma perfectos. La jugabilidad combinada con la nueva mecánica de Cappy es perfecta para el juego y espero que siga disponible para futuros juegos de Mario. La opción de poder cambiarle la ropa a Mario es buena, y cagada ver a Mario con diferentes trajes.

    This game is an ok game and in my opinion overhyped. The game is using the same mechanic that Nintendo's been using since Mario 64. And although that mechanic worked for all the titles, I just think its being overused. Story is bland since its the exact same thing over and over again. Exception is Mario 3D World but the Princess always gets kidnapped and Mario has to save her from Bowser.This game is an ok game and in my opinion overhyped. The Story needs to change, add new villains (Sort of like SEGA does with Sonic Games) change the story a bit. The Only new mechanic in this game is the hat sidekick sort of like FLUDD from Super Mario. Sunshine but with different mechanics (Again same thing again). The Hat can control other enemies, including Bowser which is pretty neat. Aaaannnddd that's about it. Not much more which is pretty sad. But the visuals are impressive, the game looks really good and colorful like Mario Galaxy and Sonic Colors. I love how you go to different worlds and even a city although Mario looks out of place in the city it makes it good since Mario is supposed to be in a different world. Overall this game has its ups and downs but its just in the middle for me, like yeah its fun for a while and then it just gets kinda boring. Game is ok

    As a huge fan of super Mario 64 i have to say that Mario Odyssey was really disappointing. Unfortunately the game never cought me. Everything is way too easy which makes it boring overall. You have to collect moons to progress further. But you get them for doing almost nothing. You can even buy them in the stores at the beginning of every level. There is mostly no challenge.     I've played 3d land first and this game is very good!Finding power moons can be fun and challanging but its not too hard or too easy,the gimmick is very cool,graphics,music and controls are out of this world and the game is 60fps both handheld and docked.Anyone with a switch needs to play this master piece ASAP,its a very great game just like breath of the wild for example.

    I am not gonna lie this game could compete for the best Mario game of all time. It was fun and Interactive, Using the Joy-cons was challenging but like most things you get the hang of it. Brings me back to the days when I would play Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. This Was the perfect way to start the switch!

    While it was difficult to imagine how Nintendo could top previous 3D Mario adventures, Super Mario Odyssey is nigh-on perfect in almost every way. With the help of Cappy, Mario has never been as fun to control, reaching new heights and, in the hands of a skilled player, accomplishing impossible skips. You need only pick up a controller to see why this is the best modern Mario game ever.

    The best entry to the best platforming series is so ridiculously huge it’s like a theme park made of theme parks. It’s a wonderful tribute to Super Mario 64, but it’s not a lazy homage.
