    This is far and away the best 3D Sonic game since Generations back in 2011. While many claim the game is just "Breath Of The Wild" with Sonic, the game stands on its own and proves that Sonic still has some untapped potential. The new "Open Zone" format works wonders for giving new life to a series that's been using the Boost formula for more than a decade. The combat is surprisingly fun,This is far and away the best 3D Sonic game since Generations back in 2011. While many claim the game is just "Breath Of The Wild" with Sonic, the game stands on its own and proves that Sonic still has some untapped potential. The new "Open Zone" format works wonders for giving new life to a series that's been using the Boost formula for more than a decade. The combat is surprisingly fun, and I found leveling Sonic up to be very satisfying. The puzzles, while simple, are a great way to progress through the worlds and unlock more of the map. They're basically just Mario Party minigames. My only real complaint with the game is that the cyberspace levels can be a bit tedious at points, but even then, I loved going for new high scores and collecting all of the vault keys. But the highlight of the game for me is the music and the insane boss battles! "Undefeatable, "Break Through It All", and "Find Your Flame" are some of the best pieces of Sonic music in the entire series, the latter of which is currently ranked as my favorite song from the Sonic franchise. Seriously, "Find Your Flame" is on the same level as the Metal Gear Rising OST. Lastly, the story actually had me intrigued. I loved learning about the Coco species and Sage is one of the best debut characters for the franchise in a long time. Overall, I'm excited to see where Sonic's future is heading!… Expand

    It's a nice change of pace from the previous Sonic games. The stages used to be more narrow and straight-forward, but now you can just take your own pace and explore around. There's different things for different people, you can even adjust the speed of Sonic, for a better experience, or for accessibility reasons.     итак фронты это как по мне уже халтурная игра, с кривым и непонятным сюжетом, никак не связаным с другими играми ( ну кто бы сомневался ), это пародия на соника в оболочке ландшафтов из зельды и нихрена непонятной боёвкой, я читал други отзывы и думаю, люди играют форсесы и говорят что    это лишь субъективное мнение и того что вы прочитает скорее всего не будет иметь никакого смысла..

    Sonic Frontiers is a beautiful mess. It is hard for me to stay completely invested in the game for long periods of time because of its excessive simplicity, reliance on old ideas, and story-related struggles; however, behind its flaws lies a beautiful and accessible story, some impressive gameplay moments and a shockingly gripping and awesome soundtrack, all of which manage to buoy itsSonic Frontiers is a beautiful mess. It is hard for me to stay completely invested in the game for long periods of time because of its excessive simplicity, reliance on old ideas, and story-related struggles; however, behind its flaws lies a beautiful and accessible story, some impressive gameplay moments and a shockingly gripping and awesome soundtrack, all of which manage to buoy its other, more cumbersome features.

    My main gripe with this game is that in the face of some beautiful story ideas, Sega's unwillingness to have the characters' movements and expressions match up more convincingly to their dialogue really brings down some truly powerful moments. Sonic and his friends have what is easily the best dialogue and interactions in the entire series, and the moments that exemplify this are bogged down by facial movements and body language that feel clunky and over-exaggerated. Additionally, the occasional long pauses in dialogue are shockingly destructive to the impact of the characters' words. If you can suffer through how stilted the characters sometimes look while delivering this dialogue, you will find something to enjoy in their meaningful interactions - it's not Shakespeare, but it can be quite touching at moments.

    The main gameplay loop - one part Ubisoft-style open-world traversal with insultingly simple puzzle-solving, one part familiar speedy platforming, and one part grand boss battles with. occasional quick-time events - is a mixed bag. The open world is aesthetically gorgeous, but the collection of various trinkets and tokens within it grows tiresome fairly quickly. And while definitely engaging and possibly the best of any Sonic game in recent memory, the bite-sized "Cyberspace" levels in which you engage in linear platforming are over in a flash, and feel overdone and too familiar by this point in Sonic's multi-decade existence. The boss battles are where the game's best facets are on full display: The spectacle is outrageous; the overall giddiness I got out of seeing the sub-5-foot hedgehog pal tear apart a gigantic, towering cyber-mechanical monstrosity is undeniable, and the music leans hard into Sonic's reputation for angsty edginess.

    Speaking of the music, I believe that is, as is often the case with 3D Sonic games, Frontiers' single strongest asset. The open world's sombre piano ballads, Cyberspace's toe-tapping drum 'n' bass, and the boss battles' anthemic pop-punk/screamo bangers (some of which feature Sleeping with Sirens' Kellin Quinn on vocals, no less) really help this game's various tones all feel balanced, with each part of the game feeling so much more authentic and powerful. because of the excellence of the music.

    Overall, Frontiers is saved, in my mind, by its more daring story decisions and absolutely gorgeous soundtrack. Otherwise, the game feels unable to escape Sega's looming shadow of nostalgia-baiting and gatekeeping of new ideas. If Sega decides to keep handing the reins to new writers, and continues welcoming new ideas from people who are clearly passionate about Sonic (especially mechanically), I can see future games in the franchise becoming so much more than what Frontiers is.

    In sum: Sonic Frontiers is held back in many ways, but offers some really excellent moments. It is a subjectively enjoyable game, and will especially appeal to former Sonic fans who were left feeling disenfranchised and disillusions by the hedgehog's prior outings.    … Expand

Best open world game in my life and the first one I've played! I don't understand why Sonic fans do say that this game is bad... Anyway, the mechanics are good, the combat too, the exploration is other good point, the objective of rescue Sonic 's friends and defeat the Titans, Sage and Eggman, the history, all of these points are pretty good!… Expand

    This is the direction I can see Sonic becoming a truly beloved game franchise in. It’s very not perfect but for a Sonic game it’s amazing and genuinely fun to play and replay. Been a while since I could say a Sonic game was worth the money I paid.

    I would personally give this game 7.5.
    I had fun with frontiers I enjoyed the story and especially the references to past sonic games. The writers for this game need to remain for the following games in the future. I enjoyed sonic characterisation but the supporting cast of tails, Amy, knuckles Eggman and sage were very well done and stayed true to their characters from previous games    I would personally give this game 7.5.

    the open world was fun, I loved the environments especially the first two islands, the controls in the open world game were solid and well done.
    the music for this game is phenomenal and I would recommend purchasing the soundtrack
    the cyberspace and fishing were a nice addition to the game bite-size versions of the boost stages from prior games although with the boost being depowered.

    However, this game has some issues that I would strongly recommend that SEGA (sonic team) fix for future entries in this series if they are to continue with the open-world gameplay.
    The controls in the cyberspace levels were not that great which is strange because the open-world controls were excellent in my opinion even without adjusting the sliders.
    the placement of the obstacles was odd and doesn't go with the environment. instead of placing obstacles anywhere (like the floating rails or platforms), they should've been built into the islands so they look like they're part of the island itself.
    for example, the platforms on ares island should've had sand on them or resembled a canon and the ones from Kronos island should've had leaves or vines
    I wasn't a fan of the over-excessive 2D on chaos island and how my camera got locked into 2D immediately when entering an obstacle course section.
    one major issue I had was the pop-in for a 2022 game it was unacceptable and sonic team needs to work on their engine issue to avoid this or come up with ways to make it less obvious as other developers have.

    The new concept of open area is great for Sonic, and the story returns to the origins of the Adventure era, something that was sorely missed in the saga. The cyberspace levels at the end become addictive to get the S rank and all the extras. From here, I have a lot of hope for the next games to come and this Frontiers does not disappoint.

Throughout the adventure you're given four large open maps to explore, slide on rails, bounce around, collect rings and each one offers its own level of fun and excitement to see new things. Along the way you solve charming puzzles,Sonic Frontiers is hands down my new favorite game in the franchise. A lot of bold risks were taken with this entry and each and every one of them paid off. Throughout the adventure you're given four large open maps to explore, slide on rails, bounce around, collect rings and each one offers its own level of fun and excitement to see new things. Along the way you solve charming puzzles, play really fun levels like Sonic does best, meet friends old and new, and even find spots to fish. This game is so immersive you can really have fun going just about anywhere or doing anything, turn your brain off and enjoy the peaceful music, run around and have a good time, and always still be doing something productive while just taking it easy.

    That's not to say the game lacks intensity. For the first time in the franchise history there's a combat system that's actually a lot of fun and feels super rewarding to play, complimented by a skill tree and a growth system that always help you feel like you're getting better. Regular enemy encounters are already a delight, but the boss fights really bring a big excitement to an already thrilling game. The soundtrack for every battle feels like listening to something from Linkin Park or other rock bands of the era, always pumping you up and making you excited for each battle, and matching the incredible music with amazing visuals both from the bosses and Sonic himself. Music has always been one of the best parts of Sonic games and Frontiers doesn't shy away from keeping tradition. Much like the gameplay and visuals, the music is also at it's finest. Also the story is delightful and introduces a wonderful new character, while also flushing out the side characters better than any game in the franchise had before.

    While the levels are a lot of fun, I do wish the team had taken a few more creative liberties with the stage designs and gone with some new ideas instead of reusing Green Hills or the old Factory, and the final boss fight does drop the ball a bit by being only a quick time event on Normal Mode, and a mini-game on Hard Mode. These however are only minor complaints to an otherwise amazing experience that any Sonic fan old or new should go on. It's been over a decade since a Sonic game has really connected with me, and Frontiers did so much more than that. I can confidently recommend this game to anyone; it's new, it's different, it's exciting, it's fun, and it's just better. Better than any Sonic game that came before, and my new favorite.    … Expand

The music, the gameplay, and the story all make for an awesome and interesting experience. My only real complaint is I think the true final boss “The End” could’ve been a bit better given the awesome Super Sonic boss fights throughout the game, but what we got is still pretty good. Other than that, I definitely recommend Sonic Frontiers.… Expand

    Feels really good. The graphics look pretty good, gameplay is VERY fun, most puzzles are pretty fun too. Just running around in the world is just... fun, but when it get's to the boss battles it's TOP NOTCH.

    This game is so **** ass that I can't even explain it. The gameplay drags on, characters are derailed, personalities are annoying, landscapes are uninteresting, the game does not provide an enjoyable experience. This is worse then sonic R. I would rather be constipated and **** out bricks for the rest of my life then deal with this piece of **** game that functions worse then a 2020s pokemon game.

My only problem is assets popping in suddenly, but even then that's a pretty minor problem. I've seen people say that the game is reallh buggy, butThis was my first Sonic game, and I've gotta say, this was a great way to start.     Ah Sonic Frontiers. The next mainline sonic game for 5 years, and I can tell, it was worth the wait. This game is quite frankly, phenomenal as Sonic's first full open world game and they delivered well. There is so much to do in the open zone such as, challenges, platform challenges to get collectables and mostly fun enemies and bosses. There is an issue with pop in that should beAh Sonic Frontiers. Sonic also controls really well in the open zone as well, better than the rubbish, slippery controls of sonic forces, the last mainline sonic game.
    the story in this game is more serious and has a more sombre, calmer and darker tone, which is a huge breath of fresh air from the childish, light-hearted stories we've had since Sonic colours. It is great and the best since Sonic unleashed.
    Then there's cyberspace, which can be accessed through portals scattered around the Starfall islands. These levels are great fun and have 4 objectives for each one of them which ads some replicability to the game. However, there are a few small issues with them such as, sonic being very slow even while boosting, (though there is a reason for it) and the fact that there are only 4 level themes. (greenhill, chemical plant, sky sanctuary and a city setting). they really should have added at least 3-4 more themes to occupy the 30 cyberspace levels and not reused greenhill and chemical plant (as they have come back way too many times and it is now tiering to see them again). there are plenty of other old themes they could have given us, such as, Kingdom Valley (sonic 2006), Icecap zone (Sonic 3&k), The aquarium park (Sonic colours) and jungle joyride (sonic unleashed). hopefully, in the future, Sonic team will give us more cyberspace levels with new, different themes, as dlc.
    Overll though these issues don't make this game any less good. The soundtrack is also absolutely fire!
    Sonic is back and it great. welcome to the next era of sonic. or rather, as it is looking like it, the second dark era of sonic. This game is not as good as Sonic unleashed (because that game really is the best in my opinion), but it's still a gem, and I hugely recommend people give it a go.    … Expand

    Man where do I Start man. I had so much fun playing this game never knew running around with sonic was so much fun. The super sonic boss fights are the highlights of the game.

    Structures dedicated to movement are not integrated on the scenery, but rather floating without explanation. The combat is too simple. the puzzles are too easy even towards the end of the game. The last island is basically filler, with not much happening on it. The story is not told organically, but on disconnected pieces.     Aside from the "moon thing", its an absolute classic. Truly a 10/10 in my eyes because it stands out on the market today. Every game nowadays is a shooter or something, so it's nice to play a 3D platformer that is tangibly unique and creative. I love this game.

The game has a Open zone that is barren visually and is full of stuff to do. Pop-In is very noticeable in the Open Zone. The Cyberspace stages are terrible. They have different controls then the Open Zone and can't be customized. There is only 4 stage themes. Green Hill, Sky Sanctuary, Chemical Plant, and Random City (Not it's real name). The last one is a random city! This does not make sense with the reason why stage themes and layouts are reused because they are pulled from Sonic's memory or some crap. The final boss is a failed Gamecube game! The worst final boss ever! The combat is alright. Big's fishing minigame can break the entire game if you would like to skip the Cyberspace stages. The story has to many call backs. The story is great though. The best the characters have been since Sonic Unleashed. The Father, Daughter relationship between Dr. Eggman and Sage made me sad. Why is a red moon planet ai thing the main villain after all? You stop like a rock and fly off rocks in the Open Zone. Cyberspace 1-2: Flowing has the most unreasonable S Rank time than the rest of the game? Why did that happen? There are three forest worlds in the game. Kronos Island, Rhea Island, and Quranos Island which is just Kronos Island. There is really only 3 islands instead of 5. This game is unfinished. I will remember it as a mixed bag.     Best 3D Sonic game ever. It's so much more varied and enjoyable than previous 3D Sonic games. Really fun speedy game and there's never a dull moment, and there hasn't been a platformer like this. Music and visuals are beautiful as well. It's a good basis for future Sonic games and if the next game is PS5 and Xbox Series only, it could be something truly special.

    The best Sonic game in decades! The open zone is really great designed and every island has it‘s own individuality. I really loved to play this game 30 hours with such a great story. Not like the usual stories without any big plots. This story was deep and was so good written with many plot twists and great character development. Really really great and my favorite game from now on!

    Easily the best 3D Sonic game to come out since Generations. Not perfect by any means with the consistent pop in being one of the biggest flaws but still had an absolute blast playing it. The writing is so much better and is a breath of fresh air as the characters feel more authentic again. Definitely a step in the right direction for what can come for Sonic in the future.

    Aunque este juego no esta exceptico de las cosas malas, aunque no sean muchas son demasiado remarcables, empezando por el popping que bueno cualquier juego incluso Elden Ring lo tiene, pero el de este juego llega a ser algo molesto porque los objetos de aparecen de golpe cuando menos te los esperas, aunque el ciberespacio es entretenido hay un problema con el control de Sonic en este, es algo incompatible y hacer algunos giros es difícil y el dichoso reutilización de diseño de niveles, entiendo la intención de que sean recuerdos de Sonic y del jugador, pero hablando en un punto de vista objetivo esto fue flojo.

    Mad that the critics can be somewhat misleading. It’s not a perfect game in terms of graphics and how it works, but come on! It’s a good game! The gameplay it self and the combat are so great and the sonic theme is all over the place. And the sound track is truly a banger. I’m not a critic so it’s not my job but I rate my experience in it so far and it has been great!

My one issue is the true final boss in the story. The fight was very unfun and the game doesnt bother to explain what it is you are actually fighting. The whole Ian Flynn doing to many flashbacks thing is stupid because like.... there was only one I can think of and it was for Sonic 3 & Knuckles.     This is most egregiously seen with the content in the game. There’s supposed to be 5 “Open Zone” islands in the game, but 2 of them are just reuse of the first one. And the third island is basically restricted to flat 2D instead of actual 3D like the rest of the game.

    So in reality there’s more like only Two Open islands, and there’s only really 3 themes: Grassy field, Desert, and Volcano. That’s really it.

    In reality, diehard Sonic fans will likely like the game because it’s Sonic, period. But casuals will likely play this game once and then forget it, if they bother to play it at all.

    Me, I’m kind of in between. I like Sonic too much to see it constantly miss its own potential because of a few dumb greedy apes at the top, so I can’t support this.    … Expand

Il est excellent non pas certes grâce à sa technique aux fraises mais par la sensation de liberté qu’offre le jeu. Les environnements et paysages sont peut être particulièrement génériques mais on les traverse avec plaisir. Ce jeu opère avec une certaine magie sur le joueur, je n’arriverais plus à lâcher laHeureusement que je ne me suis pas laissé influencer par les critiques de ce jeu. Il est excellent non pas certes grâce à sa technique aux fraises mais par la sensation de liberté qu’offre le jeu.     90% of sonic community is like this due to them being kids and only playing sonic games. Go play other videos games and then come back to Sonic and see how far back he really is.

    If you enjoyed the game, it's cool. Sometimes I had fun moments too but that doesn't make it a good game. You can still have fun moments playing Sonic 06.

The contols feel nice, the story and character interactions were fun while not feeling too silly. The animation and the camera angles were also REALLY GOOD, ESPECIALLY the super sonic boss flights, which I feel set a new standard for Sonic bosses!! The game just looks beautiful overall! The combat also feels good, it's a little button mashy but when you unlock more skills it feels less like just mashing buttons, also satisfying, flashy too! People have complained about pop in and while it is apparent, I never found it interfering with my gameplay.


    In conclusion, Sonic Frontiers is a really fun time and is well worth the $60. It isn't perfect, but it's a good way there!    … Expand

    This is the best Sonic game I have played.

    Just from the first second title Scream music sit in you know you're going to play something with a more mellow tone. I like how the characters feel more deep in this game. they have done in a while and the most dark tone helps in the character to say what they feel?     Dr eggman's memos of really interesting to listening to when I would recommend getting the Midway through the game and just fishing with big the cat is really relaxing.

    The combat is fine , i taking difficulty down too easy because I didn't really combat is fun to do so I just said the game do it for me and I got a platinum trophy so I enjoyed it .    … Expand

    Sonic Frontiers is the best Sonic game in the entire franchise! This game in it of itself is a masterpiece regardless of Sonic games! The open world is so fun to explore and you can run freely and platform at full speed and fight enemies, bosses and Titans, it's so fun! You can also combat and fight a lot of unique enemies and bosses, and unlock alot of new combat moves and skills at theSonic Frontiers is the best Sonic game in the entire franchise! This game in it of itself is a masterpiece regardless of Sonic games! The open world is so fun to explore and you can run freely and platform at full speed and fight enemies, bosses and Titans, it's so fun! You can also upgrade Sonic, you can upgrade his strength, speed, ring capacity and defense! The story is the best out of the whole franchise, and the voice acting is very good, Roger Craig Smith did an amazing job as the voice of Sonic! The music in this game is incredible and it's the best music in the entire series! The Super Sonic fights against the Titans were amazing and some of the best fights in a video game! Thank you Takashi Izuka and ESPECIALLY Morio Kishimoto who created this MASTERPEICE!

Although it's not without it's issues, Sega really did mean when they said learned from their mistakes. Now I myself was born in the late 2000's but I have played (And completed) the older Adventure games. And as a member of the Sonic community this game is an A rank game. It sucks it's not going to get nominated for best soundtrack (It probably would've won).… Expand

    The game is more of a glorified tech demo, only reason it has a high user score is because of sonic fanboys high on copium, it has good ideas but terrible execution and design.

    they have the formula for a good game but the world feels soulless and just an open space for a tech demo. the pop-ins are very annoying and bosses felt janky. it was an alright experience but I don't recommend getting it at full price.

    There is nothing remotely redeeming about this game. Nothing that even the most die-hard loyal Sonic Fans would or should advocate for. I hope that one day someone who cares enough about this franchise could give us something-anything of substance. A fan can hope, can’t they? A fan can hope.

    Finally, after almost 25years of half measures and mostly mediocre titles, Sonic has finally reached the 3D levels of gameplay it needed to reach. Yes, the pop in is absolutely inexcusable and the ancient gatekeeping grindy methods damage the flow of the game for no reason, but a wonderfully built base exists here, with a highly entertaining adventure in wonderfully melancholic world and a surprisingly well founded story, thankfully clean of Sonic’s annoying 3rd tier friends!
