    Beautiful visuals and physics but that's where it ends. Ridiculous pay outs to push microtransactions. Finished the campaign (if you can call it that) and barely have any currency or top tier vehicles. Nerfed payouts in latest update. £70 for this is a joke. Never preordering a Sony game again

    Used to be a great franchise but they got greedy and all they care is the money.     Always online in a single player but if that wasn't bad enough they jacked up the prices and added mtx. I hate what rockstar has become and it seems others are following in their footsteps.

    You should only buy this game if you want to play online against other human drivers. Everyone online player even in D Rating is a better and more important more fair driver than any of the KI.
    KI won’t get any Penalties but will crash you on every occasion. I drove a one hour race against KI right before posting this and got wrecked 5 times by the cpu. And this is the perfect demonstration on game companies taking advantage of us to gain more money. MTX, credits received in races being lowered, DRM/ Always online in the SINGLE PLAYER aspect of theHaha! Years of trust built on to this franchise.     I feel betrayed and duped by a franchise I’ve loved for as long as it has existed. Games core is great. But the required internet connection to even play the single player and split screen is such a toxic move from PD. The small amounts of credit rewards coupled with the very expensive cars makes it the most grindy GT ever. I get free 2 play vibes from the economy in this game( You can’t even sell cars). Only difference is that you have to pay full price first. Then we have the lack of communication during these server maintenance windows that never seem to end. The ongoing maintenance while writing this review was supposed to last 6 hours. Instead it’s been 24 hours and not a peep from Polyphony. The game went from a solid 8.5-9 to a 0 for me. I can’t play this disgusting piece of sh*t. And that’s not just because it’s impossible to even start during the maintenance. But also because the complete and utter disrespect to the fan base. Congratulations Polyphony Digital. You’ve joined some of the other great fallen studios of this decade. I feel sorry for the people that work at PD who actually care and want to create something amazing.

    Edit: in light of the latest updates I now have changed the score to a 5/10. Im glad they’re starting to listen. I will raise the score further depending on future updates.    … Expand

    To play you have to be always online. Greedy Microtransactions to force tuning and car purchases in an expensive game. Lack of career mode content and progression, too many free new cars that you can't sell to upgrade others. Missing classic race tracks (Grand Valley, Pikes Peak, London, Rome, Seattle?). Missing F1 races. Missing endurance races. Missing race management mode. Unable to sell won cars, so you are left with a bloated and unwanted collection. You have to press X to many times upon completion to exit a a race. You can't navigate to tuning/garage/race quickly.

Reducing by 50% the already grinding simulator makes me really sad. I'd love to see the game prosper, but white collar decisions will eventually break the gran turismo series. GT7, the real grinding    I love GT7.

    Die hard GT fan since drooling over magazine previews of the original PS1 game all those years ago. Reducing credit payouts in an update to obviously force players into micro transactions stinks. Polyphony were AAA. A rare 1st party that always hits and knows its player base. Soon enough, it won't have one.

    After the Menu missions, there's not much left to do with any significant reward. No more free cars, one roulette ticket per day with a low probability of winning anything but the smallest prize. The races don't pay much, but I found a grind that would help me work on my collection. I am amazed at the lengths the developers have gone to to make this game so unenjoyable. Great attention to detail when it comes to cars and tracks, but games are supposed to be fun. Playing this feels like a punishment.

    Post-race rewards have decreased forcing players to buy cars with microtransactions is a terrible point.

    I'm reviewing my opinion because Poliphony Digital is backpaddling now and gave everyone 1000000 cr. for the trouble. They will launch a patch in April where they are suposadly fixing the economy and increase the payout of some races in 100%. I will return and increase score if they deliver.

    After the update, it’s too hard to make money. At the beginning, it’s not like this. This update makes me feel that this game just want me to deposit money. If I can go back to before I bought this game. I will keep playing GT Sport without buy this game.

    Having been an ACC player in PS5 for some time I kind of got tired due to the lack of support for the platform and decided to give GT a try. After using GT Sport for a while decided to get GT7 hoping it would improve some aspects of the game. Unfortunately that is not the case.

    Although there is definitely more content in the game the playability is subpar in some aspects like menu navigation. However what I find most irritating is the fact that it is now much (MUCH) harder to get cars because of the ridiculous increase in their price in credits and the cut in prices for using the game. For instance - driving more than 42km would give you a new car in GT Sport but only a ticket to a "Roulette" in GT7 which 99% of the times gives you the smallest prize (generally Cr5000). And this is not just complaining that I can't get a McLaren F1 like I did in GTS; it means that getting to the point in which you can get a GT3 car will take you a lot of time to even start driving what many of us consider a drivable car for a race. There are many beatiful road cars but most of them are extremely boring to drive unless you spend a lot of money in parts. When I started playing GT7 I found it quite dull because of the cars you are allowed to play at the beginning of the game until you get enough money to get a car you like. Had I not payed USD70 I would have stopped playing this game at all.
    I believe that the price model and the lack of options to run at least a few good cars and tracks for "free" at the start of the game is a real shame. PD is completely abusive in this respect - no matter what they claim regarding collectability of cars and real life value. It is absurd to spend USD70 on a game and not be able to have real fun and explore "real" sim racing (at least GT wise) for weeks unless you pay even more.
    I left a lot of other things unmentioned - like the absence of many new cars or always-online issue because that has already been mentioned several times.    … Expand

I've played most of the GT series back to PS1, and I can't see any other logical explanation for how expensive cars have become. in GT7.     Aconsejo encarecidamente que si todavía te quedan ganas de jugar a este timo, lo compres de segunda mano y no le des un duro a estos avariciosos. Los hay a patadas porque encima en España nos lo metieron por embudo en los Monster packs de ps5 a 70 u 80 pavazos.

    its a single player game but need to be connected to the Internet all the time. They are often disconnected. Believe me, if you run for half an hour and then fail to save the game, you will feel very unhappy. Stupid company for wasting such gread content!

    Garbage micros! I'm not one to support this behavior in the first place. But if I were, I wouldn't do it at these prices. They're likely to get very little because of the insane greed on display in GT7

    Glad to be able to play a Grand Turismo again what was my disappointment to play such crap, the game system that encourages people to checkout, the setup of the cars which and completely ridiculous and the driving of the cars and really undriveable often I am very disappointed with GT7 I who am a fan of the series I leave GT7 and not ready to play it

    So close to being such a great game but severely let down by a lack of polish. - Difficulty is all over the place. Circuit experience for example - some can be done first try without practice. Others literally take days of grinding.

No one seems capable of driving properly even on SR S. - Sport mode vehicle choices are often irrelevant because one car will be significantly quicker than the others even with bop on. Means every car in every lobby is the same. - menus are janky. - - Trophies are so boring and lazy - so many options to make these fun but instead they are grindy. A lot of them are bugged as well. Had good fun in the cafe menus but the rest of the game let it down.

    Infelizmente o que era ruim piorou no vr2. Embora não importante quantos conjuntos de rodas eu compre, não consigo ganhar o troféu. Pode ser pouco, mas cada troféu ajuda subir de nível no PS star. Com o vr2 ele fica parando a corrida para redefinir área de jogo. Mas não redefine. As the game grants you "gifts“ probably just to fix you up to buy more of that stuff, and you open them, you will notice, that you’ll get the lowest possible reward for like 9/10 so called "gifts". The other one time, you ask? You get the second worst rewards. Not kidding. If you’ve got a 1Star-Gift it was always exclusively 2,000 credits. On the 2star-gifts it was 10,000 credits (which ofc is the lowest there) and on my first 3star-gift I got a whooping 5,000. I mean… at this point, I’d rather you NOT "gift" me **** and just let me be.
    Also… it’s **** atrocious that you make the good cars barely available by raising prices on an artificial market that only you and your nans know how to manipulate probably… I mean… it’s a high end polished game. I’m sure Polyphony went out of their way to design a good GT. But then some douchbag piece of **** C-level exec was like: you know what? We’re not milking this content enough! Let’s FLOOD THIS **** WITH MICRO TRANSACTIONS BABY. YEE-HAAAH. In total: brilliant game. Awesome and super-quick VR update. I still love the game but the developers need to get back to basics and look at the things that made the game great which was GT2 and 3 and don’t overthink it. Not everyone plays online.     Don’t bother to do microtransaction, you don’t need that and you can still have bunches of cars to race. Focus on the race instead of credits.

I'd prefer to not receive a reward at all, rather than live through the frustration of seeing good awards only to be given 5000 credits or less everytime. I can earn that racing a hoopty at the beginning of the game. This seems to be a move to lead players to purchasing credits using real money. So, a money grab. Seeing the direction this game has taken, Gran Turismo 7 should have just been named Gran Turismo Omega because it will be the last one I play.    … Expand

    It's been almost 10 years since we have gotten full Gran Turismo experience.
    And I hate to say it - I'm slightly disappointed.



    Not by content - there is a LOT of cars and activities.

When it comes to tracks it's not as good - stable selection of known tracks and way too many of imaginary ones that games tends to focus during single player campaign.

Missions, quests, licenses guide you towards progression that means new cars and track. And it is slow - after 20hrs in i'm still somewhere near the start.
    Of course game pushes microtransactions everywhere to remind you that it does not need to be that slow, and you can buy progress.

What is not really bad is that very often you are forced into worst possible car/track combo that is just not fun to drive.
    On top of that those involving „AI” are basically putting you in the end of a computer generated cars (it's not AI) that are glued to their line and don't react at all to your presence, so they end up being more of an annoyance than competition.


    Multiplayer is still fun, just got turned into best combo of tuning parts to win instead of be faster to win. Differences in cars are way bigger than what you will get using default setups vs custom ones in real simulators.



    And what is worst - it's a failure in technical department - not graphics as those are excellent for console standards but all other aspects -
    want to change FOV? Forget about it - forced to sit really close to 75" TV and feel like a kid in a truck with everything out of scale and problems with judging distance and speed? Bad luck pal.


    Want to adjust pedals deadzone? No way to do it.


    Want to adjust details in forcefeedback? Nope
    Want to adjust wheel angle? Not even nope - even if you want to do it from the wheel itself on start of every race game will autoadjust to what you've set on a wheel making it virtually impossible to change.


    Want to adjust UI so it does not burn out your OLED? Nah
    Want to move around UI elements so driver list does not impose on rear view mirror? He he he

    So still a Gran Turismo game. Nothing more. If you plan to play once in a while on a controller - go for it, you will have a blast. If you want something deeper - that is not a game for you. Get ACC or even first Asseto Corsa. GT7 feels like game from early 2000s with modern graphics - more of a remaster than new original title. When it comes to PC competition - it's way behind. Titles like Automobilista2 just live it in the dust when it comes to driving mechanics, fun and modern engines.    … Expand

    Camera angle is crap and the AI are horrible. Throw in Microtransactions and you've got GT7. Rolling races over and over at the back of the pack. Slow grind with the intent to make the player purchase microtransactions. Never again. Just stick with Forza as it's much superior as a simcade.

Anticipated a whole world opening up during/after menus but it's not in the game yet. I'm fine with additional transaction systems for cosmetics, but GT7 is pushing hard to get additional payments for core gameplay, so much that it starts to ruin unpaid mechanics.I've loved this franchise for decades.     Absolute masterpiece of a game. You learn so much about performance driving and manufacturer history. Beautiful tracks and love the trial mountain returning to the franchise! Also the music is so good in this game. Really love the feeling of the game.

    Only gripes are with the heavy MTX and always need for online mode. PD seems to listen to the community and try to make changes for the    Absolute masterpiece of a game.     Gran Turismo is/was a great racing sim. Made by the best company Polyphony Digital. Japanese company. Best ever

    This game however does not live up to the hype. They start you off with a 15-20 min intro video because its their 25th anniversary and they really want you to care, also its unavoidable. You can turn that option off in the menu afterwards. Next up is their godawful music rally. Go fast to keep the beat of the music going. That's really lame and also unavoidable. There's not much freedom to the game like in GT Sport. Every thing has to be unlocked one at a time thru some average Joe at the central hub of the game called GT Cafe. I like the hub layout, reminds me of gt1 kind of. The average Joe gives you these "menus" which tell you what 3 cars you are going to earn at the end of each race. But very specific cars. One menu might be Camaro's, next menu can be mustangs. and at the end of each menu, average Joe has to tell you a history lesson upon every menu completion. I don't forget about the amount of cut scenes

    The awards to daily distance driven suck now. and they have these things called "roulette tickets" that come in 3 tiers ( im guessing because i got a 2 star ticket). You are no longer just winning cars anymore. No. you get either a car, tiny money, medium money, large money or a car part. I'm level 9, all my daily workouts and tickets I've earned have been mostly "tiny money." One other bad part about this game is that it will "invite you" to buy a car in game, one of the ones that cost $2M credits or $26 irl. Things are forced upon you, and you can't play multiplayer until you unlock it at level 7 or something. This game is kind of disappointing, feels like there something missing from it.     Obviously this is going to be the best looking and most realistic Gran Turismo game to date. The next generation realism is primarily felt in the outlier situations, and less so in the regular races. The extreme high speeds of the super cars feels absolutely next gen, it is difficult to put into words, but it is unlike any other game - you can truly feel the delicate grip you have to theObviously this is going to be the best looking and most realistic Gran Turismo game to date. The extreme high speeds of the super cars feels absolutely next gen, it is difficult to put into words, but it is unlike any other game - you can truly feel the delicate grip you have to the road, you can hear the wind speed outside of the vehicle, the very subtle camera trembling, it’s all incredible. Another extreme is the handling while going through elevation changes, you can really feel the suspension of the vehicle getting harder or softer when cornering while uphill or downhill. The drastic changes in handling during extreme environment conditions such as rain is very tough and you can feel the fight with the poor grip. The attention to detail is fantastic, for example on a sunny morning track with recent rain, naturally the asphalt dries faster in the sun, so the side of the road that is still in the shade has wet asphalt and worse grip, it’s insane. The dynamic weather and time changes are fantastic. The World Mode menu system was overhyped, it really is just a new presentation of the same menu you would expect. It’s fine, but I find it odd that the based a lot of the hype around this menu system. It almost feels like they added menus and dialogue which take longer for you to actually get into races.

    The graphics are stunning, as expected. I personally preferred the ray tracing mode for this game, because the game automatically shows you a replay after you complete your race, and it’s definitely noticeable in the replays. The sound design actually made a bigger impact than I thought - some vehicles are loud and roaring in the cockpit view, while some of the other vehicles are less loud but you can hear the wind resistance and gravel hitting the underneath of the vehicle more clearly. I wasn’t really thinking of the sound design going into the next generation of sim games, but the acoustics of sound bouncing off of surfaces in tunnels and against tall walls makes a huge difference in the replays. Otherwise the sounds are a relatively forgettable soundtrack and the same sound effects you remember from the other GT games.

    For racing sim fans, this is the ultimate package, and it reaches new levels of realism. With that being said, I would love to see the GT team take a shot at something new next time. I really like the idea of a full fledged rally game. Imagine racing through heavily wooded areas in a snow storm with the realism of Gran Turismo.

    Now to comment on what everyone else is whining about. I don’t like the always online, but it doesn’t bother me. I don’t like the the micro transactions, but it doesn’t bother me. The game really increases with the grinding when you start transitioning from the beginner/sports cars to the super cars, they just become very difficult to attain. It doesn’t ruin the experience, but I just don’t have the time to grind hours for one car to move forward. This doesn’t really begin until around 10 hours into the game. I think this was a terrible move, but it can be easily reversed by just allowing you to sell your extra cars like in any other Gran Turismo game. It lowered my score from an 8 to a 7.    … Expand

    I've played GT4 carrer mode for so long but GT7 is doing it totally wrong. The menu book is annoying. I want to make madzda/audi/... brand races whenever I want. The only thing that should be the limit is the driver licence and not a number in a f** menu book. There are so few championchips/multiple-race-events. There    UPDATE 23/06/2022:
    I have no motivation for playing GT7 anymore.
    I've played GT4 carrer mode for so long but GT7 is doing it totally wrong.
    The menu book is annoying. I want to make madzda/audi/... brand races whenever I want.
    The only thing that should be the limit is the driver licence and not a number in a f** menu book.
    There are so few championchips/multiple-race-events.
    There are just too many things that are wrong in GT7 to make it a good game
    and to fix that they need to create a completely new game which will never happen.

    I don't care a lot about the game-economics 'anymore'.

    What's really bad is the reacing A.I. and the races themself.
    There are almost only rolling starts. Totally bul** and not real racing. No qualifying either.
    It's always a catch up game where you finally overtake the 1st one in the last part of the race.
    Also at the beginning of a catch up race the 1st could be miles ahaed. How dumb is that, please?
    On the way to that you have to fight with utterly stupid A.I. breaking like idiots.
    I'm PIT maneuver'ed the whole f** time. The stupid A.I. is often on rails and occasionly reacts 'normal'. That's game in year 2022!

    My advice to PD: Stop adding cars and improve the A.I. plus create more campagne based standing start races.
    And the most important thing -> Play that game by yourself PD! I can't imagine that that happened in a neutral point of view...    … Expand

    As of April 7/22 credits rewards have been fixed. The game feels much more fair now. Get out there and race!

    It seems Jim Ryan and other PlayStation executives have seen the success of other greedy predators (WOOPS, publisher's) like Phil Spencer and Xbox (who's Forza Motorsport 5, 6, and 7, Halo Infinite, Halo 5, Halo Wars 2, Gears 4 & 5 all have filthy Micro-transactions in them) and pushing Polyphony Digital to do the same. Some cars can cost up to $29 real world dollars. It's foul, and has been unlike Sony up to this point. Now, I will not be overly slamming Polyphony Digital for the always online connection for the Single Player portion of GT 7. But it is unacceptable. I personally have come not to expect much from PlayStation when it comes to server side support because they have routinely cut support for their games much earlier than their main rivals Xbox. That said, it is still BS as no Single Player portion of any game should rely on internet connection to servers. Stop it.

The game has a lot of inconveniences for the player. You need to switch menus for things that should be available all in the same menu section. Car maintenance and tuning are separated into different menus screens, wide body kits and regular body kits are also separated in this manner. To simply change the colour of your car you need to create a livery project, choose your main color, save the project and apply it to your car. Cars are separated into 3 different dealerships and the opportunity to buy some cars is only available for a limited time. This wouldn’t be an issue if the game wasn’t obviously putting money roadblocks in your way to try and have you spend on micro transactions. You are unable to sell your cars but the game let’s you buy in game money as micro transactions.

    Overall its has fun gameplay and a lot of content but it doesn’t have a player first mentality like the old games had.    … Expand

    I got hyped with the gameplay graphics before launch and when I finally played it got so disappointed. The graphics aren't that good, you can only play a single-player if your internet is on and an awful monetization.

    absolutely shocking game you'll have more chance of getting a McLaren F1 in real life then in-game, that is unless you're willing to grind the same boring race for 90hrs or pay £200 in microtransactions.

    I signed up for a Metacritic account just to rate the game concerning it's horrible reward system. It is so bad and obvious how they want you to spend money on credits that I can only come to the conclusion they are hoping there are a massive amount of children and people with disabilities who are impulsive buyers or undiscerning. It's pretty sad when you have a reward system that is so greedy did it causes one to think about those who are mentally challenged or parents who are unaware they're checking account is about to get drained. It seems like Gran Turismo was thinking of those with special needs and the tragedies that surprise a single mother when they wake in the morning and their bank accounts drained because of a video game that is so greedy when it comes to their reward system that it's obvious they were thinking about the mentally disabled and impulsive buyers to make sure there is no door that's closed to avoid a single micro transaction. The ratio of money they will make from microtransactions compared to the odds of what the average player will make actually playing the game is obscene and disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves to make such a good product for the sake of weaponizing it as a monetization scheme.… Expand

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
