    Has so much potential, but requiring it to always have an internet connection has now been proven a disaster. They say they want the game to be playable without micro transactions and players not have to grind - and yet all of the best cars are really expensive. Was a higher score, but ruined now.

    I paid full price for this game, expecting to drive over the nordschleife with my favorite cars like the Lamborgini Diablo, Countach, Ferrari F40 and McLaren F1.

As someone who played GT3 & GT4 I know progress takes takes time but in GT7 it’s just    I paid full price for this game, expecting to drive over the nordschleife with my favorite cars like the Lamborgini Diablo, Countach, Ferrari F40 and McLaren F1.

As someone who played GT3 & GT4 I know progress takes takes time but in GT7 it’s just abnormal. I’m 34 and have full time job and a family, I don’t have the same spare time I had as a single teenager to spend just to get the credits to be able to buy the cars I want.

    The cars I would like to drive cost millions of credits and are only available after invites which expire. They seem as unreachable ingame as in real life.

    After the last update in which they even made it harder to earn credits ingame the developer made a statement that they want to reflect the real life value and rarity of these cars.

    Why? This is a game, a driving simulator, not a real life simulator. I play games to escape from real life and enjoy things I can’t or won’t do in real life.

    I don’t play any F2P games due the push towards monetisation and I refuse to buy any credits for real money in a game I’ve bought for €80,-.

    I’ve lost the appetite for this game in the state it is in and I’ve put it aside. I picked up Horizon Forbidden West again, hopefully GT7 will be fixed when I finish that. And if they don’t fix this it will be the last Gran Turismo I’ve played and I’ll wait with buying any next Sony game until it’s clear that they’re not ruined by the bad management which screwed up this game.    … Expand

    I’ve put in over 48 hours into this game. You’d think by now I’d be able to unlock some cool cars and such but nope. It’s an effing grind fest. Rip off. And at a premium price of seventy dollars, they dare to ask 40 dollars for microtansactions? Stay away. Horrible game

    I paid 90 dollars for a game that feels like it should be free for the amount cars cost they want you to use micro transactions. They force you in some cases to get ahead to the next level race if you're car does not have the parts it needs

    I was hyped. A lot. And I got burned again. There's a good game somewhere in GT7. Under layers of whore mongering monetization. This series just got GTA Online treatment. Every single developer and their grandma should be crying from shame. But instead they're probably sitting on a beach in Bahamas.

    Once you get through the Cafe mode, the gameplay loop is completely obliterated. Micro transactions completely ruin the experience. Stay away.

    No justifications can be done for a 70 euros game with that fraudulent credit/microtransaction model. The game seems to be developed to be a Game as Service (always online, microtransactions, future content updates) without being a Game as a Service. We cannot be quiet for a game that make it impossible to buy certain cars because they are the equivalent of 400 races or almost 200 euros ofNo justifications can be done for a 70 euros game with that fraudulent credit/microtransaction model. This is much worse than GTA Online because in GTA you still have a 50 hours single player campaign where you purchase everything with in-game payouts. Not to mention the lack of content after you complete the Café stuff and the fact than you can't use for Race Events a lot of cars you earn during the campaign.
    That's a shame. I think a lot of people will be abandon GT Series after that.
    For the first time I'm agree with a Review Bombing movement, Sony should understand that we are gamers and not only money machines, especially for a full price game like GT7.    … Expand

    I actually really enjoyed my first few hours in this game. Then the always online requirement reared its ugly head.

    I tried asking Sony Playstation for a refund, but their support working **** said I couldn't get one because I was mere hours past the 14 day refund period, which in itself is a dumb **** policy.

Some cars can cost anywhere from 10-20 million credits which is extremely unrealistic to grind for, especially for a single car. So if you don’t wanna grind you’d have to spend $20 just for 2,000,000 credits which would make a 20,000,000 credit car $200 in real world money…. Absolutely disgusting.     The fact that you have to be connected to the servers to play single player is ridiculous. The "micro" transactions are absolutely unacceptable. It would literally cost over $180 to buy the McClaren F1. I get that the game is supposed to be a simulation, but we all know this is just greed.

    Je suis très déçu de latitude des créateurs du jeu, lors de la dernière mise à jour...
    Le jeu est devenu une pompe à fric, même si je l'admets c'est un des meilleurs jeux de voitures de tous les temps, je n'ai même plus envie d'y jouer, c'est devenu de plus en plus dur de se faire plaisir pour acheter des voitures !
    Je modifierai sûrement ma note si ils réagissent ...

    Me encantó este Gran Turismo 7 llevo aproximadamente 59 horas jugando tengo 101 coches de la carta desbloqueando y en el garaje tengo sobre 139 vehículo eso sin meter ningún tipo de micropagos. Se puede conseguir fácilmente más 200,000 créditos en algunos eventos. Si puede ser que los precios de los créditos esté caros con dinero real pero el juego es fácil ir juntando dinero además que noMe encantó este Gran Turismo 7 llevo aproximadamente 59 horas jugando tengo 101 coches de la carta desbloqueando y en el garaje tengo sobre 139 vehículo eso sin meter ningún tipo de micropagos.     I was so hyped for it and the gameplay doesnt dissapoint BUT the DRM (Digital Rights Management) is horrible, always online (which is bad), server outage for 30hrs so basically no access to the game and it gets even worse, i feel scammed and i dont have to explain everything, other people have made comparisons and layed down everthing on the table that is bad for everyone to see.

    Think about the poor families that cannot afford an internet connection then finding out about the online issue.     Increase car price and reduce the race pricing to push players to pay microtransaction, in addition after game tests is a shame.

Some cars are priced 10-20M and would require around 40hours + of the highest paying activity to obtain or you’ll need to shell out $200+ of real money. Eg. Mclaren F1 price last game = $1M

    However, there other annoying issues: Much of the car selection is direct carry over from previous games and it’s missing key supercars cars like: 918 spyder, p1, speedtail, 720s, 765lt, plaid, lfa, senna, 812, gt2rs, 911 turbo s & more. Most sportscars and supercars are dated with few current gen ones so they can reuse assets from previous games shamelessly. Drag racing did not make a return despite what they said. You can no longer get 2 player replays from the race screen. The race your garage car does not allow you to select specific garage cars.     If you want macro transactions to be included, don't charge $70 for the base price!!!!

    This switch and bait update made this game "Macro" transaction focused. I already spent $97 (after tax) for the founder edition. They cut race rewards, took away the ability to sell cars, and made legendary cars so expensive. Now if I want to earn credits, it will be more of a grind than iRacing unless I want to just fork out money over and over!

    Shame on me for trusting the Gran Turismo name, pre-ordering this game, and spending the money to go towards a more "casual" sim racing experience. Completely back fired!    … Expand

    Fan des Gran Tourismo depuis la première heure, j’ai vraiment envie de vomir sur cette version « service » qui pousse clairement à sortir sa carte bleu après avoir payé 80 euros. Pas de course Gr1 ni Gr2 à part en Arcade avec des sommes dérisoires à gagner. PlayStation studios sont tellement décevants dernièrement!

    I've been a fan of these games since I was a kid but I think this about does it for me. It all started off so well until we were hit with ridiculously inflated microtransactions. Not to mention that it's an online only game.... I can't get my $100 back but trust me I wont be spending any time doing weeks and weeks of excessive grinding with little reward.

    The game is selling at a premium price and still uses nasty tricks to make the player community spend more money to get access to all the content in the game. Besides that the game is only fully playable when connected to the internet and GT servers are not down. Super disappointed in this game and devs

I've created an account on Metacritic just to warn other prospective gamers not to fall for the same trap as myself and many others - there are plenty of other racing sims more worthy of your hard-earned cash.

    To further add insult to injury, what is mostly a SP game cannot be played without an online connection, which is fine if Polyphony Digital were competent enough to keep their own servers up without 30 hour downtimes. This developer has clearly never heard of a "roll-back" plan, and was more concerned about the MTX it would be losing.

    To top of it all off, Kazunori's apology must surely contend as the most pathetic excuse for a developer's actions. Just as Kazunori's statement skirts around facts, this review will also glance over the good that the game had potential to offer.

    The only way to save face now is to pull a U-Turn and:
    - Allow SP to be played offline
    - Allow selling of cars (just like in the real world) - is this not a simulator?
    - Buff race rewards
    - Buff daily marathon rewards
    - Introduce daily challenges with increased rewards
    - If you insist on keeping MTX, bring credit to cost ratio in-line with predecessors
    - Justify why some cars are valued more than 3x the cost of the game itself?
    - Remove time limited legendary / invite only cars pressuring player base into MTX, particularly those that are vulnerable
    - Remove 20M credit cap on earned credits, given that single cars cost up to 20M. Interestingly, no cap on MTX credit

    Amazing racing game, the only thing that lets it down is the credit payout! Dualsense is really good for this game if you don’t have a wheel! Best racer I’ve played, FH5 was good but I prefer more realistic racing! Had some of the best online races I’ve ever had in GT7! Highly recommend, would be a 10 if credit payout was evened out and was abit higher! 9/10

    Stop micro-transactions !! I've paid ¥8650 for this game and Polyphony cut the rewards credit and push players to pay another ¥12000 for "one" car !!!? That's ridiculous. How greedy are you, Polyphony? And you better keep GT7 server run forever because maybe I will play GT7 after several years if my PS5 is still working. This is not a free social game. We players paid full price for GT7.

    As a life-long fan of the Gran Turismo series, it saddens me to witness the desecration of the storied franchise with GT7. While the underlying driving experience is excellent, the absolutely atrocious MTX practices and Kaz's continued delusion that the best way to honour legendary cars is by making them unobtainable in game without hours and hours of repetitive grind or paying for MTX isAs a life-long fan of the Gran Turismo series, it saddens me to witness the desecration of the storied franchise with GT7. For example, the McLaren F1 is available in the Legendary Dealer for only a few days, but costs 18.5m credits. This equates to about 21 hours of grind or paying $185US. Ridiculous. These are the worst MTX tactics I have ever seen. The game is also crippled by a bland, unfinished single player mode, baffling UI design choices and the always-online requirements. Online modes are almost unplayable with current server instability.

    I really love this game, the graphics are sublime and really breathtaking. Taking pictures in the scapes mode makes you question if it's a real pic or not. They expanded the tuning possibilities and level of detail on cars is just mesmerizing, next to none. You can learn a lot about racing, especially through the challenging licenses.     After a solid start, while almost finishing the whole campaign (menu books), I realized that rolling starts from the back of the pack without any chance of qualifying aren't real racing like. The payouts for the races were ok offline, but after spending about 400k on a r32 skyline to be competitive in sport mode (online), and getting 18k as payout for first place I feel robbed.
    They nerfed other races payouts in single player mode with the idea of pushing the player towards microtransactions... The option is always given, right under the payout screen.
    Since yesterdays update I'm not able to access the game anymore, because you are forced to have internet and a connection to the servers all the time. Which is absolutely nuts and reminds me of the NEED FOR SPEED from 2015, and EA learned from that, apparently. PD is 7 years late like the internet explorer and forces it's players to be constantly connected to the playstation network and their servers. Very customer friendly.
    If you're thinking of buying the game. Get the PCSX2 emulator and a copy of gran turismo 4, and you'll get a finished game which you're surely be happy with. And the crash mechanics are the same btw. For both titles. Or you can get your hands on Forza and not be forced to spend extra cash after buying the initial game for 80€...

    Maybe they will fix it, but I'm really disappointed for a legacy title, especially from a Sony "first hand" developer. Shame on you PolyPHONY Digital. Shame on the gaming industry and their constant push for micro transactions.

    Microtransactions in a £70 grindy game. Automatic 0/10. The game itself ain't bad but these are some of the worst microtransactions I've ever seen and the fact that the developers are okay with this and think it's the way forward makes me want to vomit.

    I purchased a PS5 for this game alone and was really let down by it. I feel it would take me weeks or months to even earn one if the top cars. Also felt very dated for a PS5 game.

    The fact they make you grind so hard just just to get one car and pushing you pay so much to pay instead is absurd. The always online also make this even worse. Graphics are very average. Overall mediocre experience that was sold to me by reviewers as something else. To think I pay £70 for this game just to be forced to spend more to make progress is unacceptable.

    Gt sport daba muchos menos problemas para jugar online. No he podido jugar ninguna carrera de las copas de naciones y copa de fabricantes y luego el juego te asigna 0 puntos. Gracias gran turismo por hacer un juego que podía prometer mucho en uno de los peores de la saga

    I actually enjoy the racing, apart from everything being grid start. Micro transactions are forced upon you by not allowing you to accumulate wealth when following the menus as the game leads you to do.
    Furthermore, you can't even sell cars that you don't want. HELLO I want to race not collect cars like they are pokemon!!!

    - Roulette prize system = passive gambling
    - always online DRM (can't even play single player if not connected to GT servers)
    - earning in game credit nerfed to incentivise buying the credit on the psn store

    J'aime vraiment beaucoup ce jeu et pour être honnête je ne comprends les plaintes des gens pour les crédit après c'est vrai que j'ai prévu d'y passé beaucoup beaucoup d'heures donc personnellement ça ne me gène pas

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
