This is just as bad as when Battlefront II (EA) came out, but I don't think Mickey is going to fix this like Battlefront II. Overall, I'm sick and tired of what has happened to the gaming industry.     I wish there was a number lower than 0 we could use. This constant gouging of customers is hitting an all time high and yielding absolutely nothing for the player. Let’s just patch a simple way to earn items faster, make it extremely long winded to get said items and make the player pay real money for minimal things like cars that you used to get with just a minimal to moderate grind.

    Polyphony and Sony are so dirty for hiding the exorbitant micro transactions. This was supposed to be a remastered Gran Turismo 4 with GT Sport online qualities. I returned it to Amazon in disgust.

    Updates have killed the game. Single player still relays on servers so when they go down you can’t play. It’s so much harder to earn credits now they’ve nerfed race bonuses

    I'm appalled. GT7 appears to be the game of exceptional quality we all expected but the recent patch (1.07) is an affront to all loyal supporters of both PlayStation and Polyphony. I checked in with all of my normal reviewers the day *before* the patch, saw decent reviews and bought the game. By the time I played for the first time patch 1.07 was live. And of course.. no refunds. I'veI'm appalled.     Due to absurd always online DRM and server maintenance outside of my control, at the time of this review GT7 gets a genuine zero. There is no game to play. No graphics, no sound and no game. Shameful.

Graphics looks flat and looking like a PS3 game since polyphony graphic engine is way too old.     Very disappointed about the game in general but specifically about the awful strategy of Sony and Polyphony about this game. Impossible to gain credits and forcing us to put more money in the game through micro transactions. Not worth the price.

To resort to this sort of behaviour of not letting initial reviewers play the game that have the microtransactions should not be allowed legally. The day-one patch changed the mechanics of the game so much it can be considered a totally different game.

    With the path this game is on it is not worth playing in the least bit. Forza (series) has won me over bar none, come to racing games. I was super hyped for GT7, but they obviously favor microtransactions over anything and proceeded to make the game online only for single player career modes, and made it even more grindy. No thank you im good.

    Lots of potential for a really fun game here. Great graphics, so much attention to detail in the cars and tracks. Overall pretty fun gameplay. The cafe was a cool addition and fun to play through. I enjoyed the progress through missions and got a sense of accomplishment as new areas were unlocked. I wish there were more pages to explore and would love that to be part of future contentLots of potential for a really fun game here. This was a full price AAA game, I had no intention of paying more real money to buy cars to race. Give me a free game if you want to attempt this monetization model. The greed is glaring and the minimal spike they’re going to see in micro transactions will be lost ten fold when they try to release another game after this. My personal viewpoint is that they got my money for the game, they won’t get a dime for the micro’s and I won’t be buying future releases from polyphony if this isn’t fixed.     Long time Gran Turismo fan here. I own every major GT installment and 7 is a blatant smack in the face to the fans. This game is heavily monetized. There are many cars that are unobtainable because of how the reward system works. Rewards are low, you can't sell cars, and there are cars that cost 20 million. Super fast, free cars, roulette tickets, etc. Then as soon as you finish the menu books they stop giving our free cars, and stop giving out nearly as many roulette tickets. And the only way to get back to the same pace is spending literally hundreds of dollars on microtransactions. This is a full price game... Not free to play... RouletteIt feels like a free to play cell phone game. Super fast, free cars, roulette tickets, etc. Then as soon as you finish the menu books they stop giving our free cars, and stop giving out nearly as many roulette tickets. And the only way to get back to the same pace is spending literally hundreds of dollars on microtransactions. This is a full price game... Not free to play... Roulette rewards suck anyway.

    Comparing this game to GT Sport is embarrassing. Single player races reward 400k+ credits in GT Sport. In gt7? Good luck getting even 1/4 of that for any race....

    The cars cost way more. Paint and wheels cost credits instead of mileage points. And buying a car in GTS, if you wanted to use actual money, was sub $3. If you want to buy it in gt7? Sometimes hundreds of dollars. Or more... This is ridiculous.

    The game was pretty hard to make money to buy things for your vehicle or buying vehicles was hard because of the prices and how much you get from races.
    So a new patch for the game came out !!! Yayroght and Playstation cut the money you get from the races in half so now its so much hard to do anything.... Well the game is meh.. sometimes it looks beautiful.. but really there is a lot of better games out there to play..
    Xboxs Forza different racing game but it's fun and beautiful! Really play that instead if you can.. I give it a 3/10...

    Super grindy, maintenance update was around 30 hours and since this game is required to always be online, you CAN NOT PLAY offline with YOUR CARS that you bought or do the campaign or even go to your garage. MTX is brutal to the point of race payouts being worse than they were before and car prices staying the same. Most cars cost around $40 USD. Shameless...

    The game is a scam and sony crossed a line. They changed the amount of credits you earn for races to make sure it takes hours upon hours to buy a single car. They cheated costumers by giving reviewers a version of the game with no micro transactions and better earning races, then flipped the switch when it came time to monetise. This game doesn’t deserve your money.

    Game is plagued by MULTIPLE problems. Most frustrating for me...is I took off work to participate in the Manufacturers Series for Sport mode...I registered and started qualifying, then got an "unexpected error" message with no way to re-enter the event I registered for!registered

Yeah you’ll need to grind 75 hours to afford it because of the broken economy. Remember getting a daily car for completing the “workout” yeah now you’ll get like 5k credits. I seriously hope this is fixed because I want to love this game. Under the hood it’sThis is so disappointing. I love this series. This game completely lacks depth. Hardly any events, cars or tracks.     Gameplay is amazing, Cars look great and the old school Gran Turismo feeling is still there. Sadly SEVERELY let down but microtransactions, Inability to sell cars which given the measely payouts per race force 10s of hours of grinding or using real money to purchase microtransactions. I never thought Polyphonic Digital would go down this road but I'm sadly mistaken and disappointed.

    Gran Turismo 7 conned its players. Plain and simple. Critics were given a wonderful copy of the game, and once all the critic reviews were in, they released patch 1.07, ruining the game. This patch pressures the player to pay for micro-transactions by reducing the progress you can make by racing and by increasing the price of cars by up to 8 times its original price.     Can't sell cars for ingame credit either. Horrible roulette system as well, i seem to always get the lowest tier reward.

    I remember this game as of being the best motorsport in GT2 yes I'm a bit late but, really ya'll goofed it up with your greedy ass mtxs. This is really unnecessary and you know better than that. A lot of the rare and desirable cars can cost between 10-18 million credits. Playing optimally the fastest you can acquire credits is around 800k per hour so it can take you 20+ hours of running theI finished the single player "campaign" in less than 15 hours.     You choices to have fun in this game is to either grind hundreds of hours like you are playing World of Warcraft or spend hundreds of real life dollars on micro transactions to buy credits.

    This game is also "always online". You can't even play the single player if you don't have an internet connection or Gran Turismo's servers go down. They were recently down for over 30 hours and you simply couldn't play the game. I also had my internet go down briefly in the middle of a 30 lap race and it instantly kicked me out of the game not saving my progress.

    I would highly recommend you look somewhere else if you want a racing game. I had thousands of hours in previous Gran Turismo games but I will never buy another one after this. Extremely disappointing.    … Expand

Cafe campaign, there is a handful of missions to do and that’s it - the game comes to a complete halt. I was entirely through the campaign in just 4 days. They clearly cut content to drip-feed us later, not only was this proven but it also feels like that to the player. The graphical downgrades are a big letdown, especially since it didn’t improve performance at all (interestingly, performance actually seems to have worsened, on a PS5 mind you!).

    Let’s just adress the elephant in the room here; payout nerfs and extreme push towards mtx in this game have stooped to a lower level than I’ve ever come across before, and we’ve had quite a few disastrous game launches in recent years! The way GT7 is setup is an utter disgrace, and there will be a very long path to win back the faith of your loyal players. The ones responsible (I’m not sure who ultimately called these shots) should be absolutely ashamed. The fact there has been radio silence for so long on the matter is making things far worse still.     Gran Turismo 7 is undoubtedly the best entry in the series with good physics and good graphics, but to assume that Sony is being predatory is a bit too far. Micro transactions can become highly addictive to spend your money on, but that's what they want you to do. You can complete GT7 and unlock at least 80 cars by playing through the various menu books and missions. You don't need theGran Turismo 7 is undoubtedly the best entry in the series with good physics and good graphics, but to assume that Sony is being predatory is a bit too far. Why is it I can play Forza Horizon 5 and Motorsport 7 offline but I must remain always online for GT7. Im a causal player, maybe 2 hours per day, but already im finished with the cafe menu after 2 weeks, and to my surprise the last race - World GT Series Championship - only required a National License A, and there are NO races after this that require International B or A or Super licenses, and no single GR.2 or GR.1 races or championships. Seriously? Where is this content? Where are the endurance races? The structure of the races just makes no sense.

    3. The economy overall makes no sense. Who knew real world inflation would be part of a virtual sim game! After all the Cafe menu, i had just enough to buy a single GR 1, 3 and 4, and a handful other cheaper cars. Upgrading parts economy is alot more expensive. NOS is $100k???? For a game that emphasises the collection factor, it makes it near on impossible to build your collection with such a stingy economy.

    4. Why cant we sell cars? If you want real world scenarios of outrageous prices for unicorn cars, then in the real world you can sell cars!!!!!! Again for the collection, i have a couple of duplicates because i bought a car before i knew i would get it as a reward in the cafe menu, and it **** me i have duplicates i cant sell.

    5. Roulette. Cars and money, makes sense. The invitations? useless as they are for hyper expensive cars that even if you didnt spend 1 single cent from the entire cafe menu, you still couldnt afford the invite cars. Car parts? Absolutely useless! I dont want a single part that only works for 1 particular car, give me cars or credits so i can choose what parts i want to install on the cars i want.

    6. AI needs work. the PP ratings are not reflective of the challenge of the AI. Im running on the hard difficulty, and if im within 20 PP of the "reccommended PP" for any given race, i destroy the AI and win by 15sec. I need to be 40-70PP less than reccommended to make it a challenge. AI pace needs to be adjusted according to the PP you have. Needs more standing start races with competitive AI, not an overtaking parade of slow AI. And bring some form of qualifying into this so we know what the AI competition is like against our car.

    Ok, ill admit, given the arrogance of the statement by Polyphony after the criticism of microtransactions and the 32 hour maintenance period, ill assume a pretty awesome updates are coming very very soon, but man talk about leaving us with not much else to do in the mean time.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
