The feeling when the previous part was better. Animations were made like by 10$ freelancers. Moreover, why would they do a rpg game about zombie apocalypse?? You can't stealth kill a zombie just because it's 1 level higher than u :d. Deserved 0/10, pathetic game.

I haven’t been this hooked on a game in a long time. I can’t put it down. Great graphics, story and gameplay and last but not least, it’s not filled with a bunch of woke identity politics that makes you cringe at every scene and character.

Great game, I'm pretty happy that I've bought that game even if cost is pretty big. And for little kids from Italian that is one of the most funniest countries of world. I'm happy that Techland didn't give Italian audio and I hope this game after showing how stupid you guys are will not get it. Go change the conflict sides as always. + stop crying + none asked

I spent about 5 hours in the game, and I uninstalled it, and I'm currently selling the game at a local bazaar.

The dark horror atmosphere that Dying Light 1 had is gone in DL2, everything what was great in DL1 you took away, and you replaced it with boring and tediously annoying things. The story is stupid, the characters are stupid.

One positive thing - in our country, this game is very cheap, about $35 for the Playstation 5. But even for that price, I wouldn't recommend buying it, even if they fix the insanely many visual, gaming and technical bugs. It's outdated boredom game for 2022 and nextgen console gaming!

I now played around 40 hours and in my opinion it surpasses the first game in every aspect. The gameplay is perfect and the world with its art direction and its differences during the day and during the might amazes me every time. Of course the story is not on the same level as TLOU2 or RDR2 for example, but its way better than in the fist game and i really enjoy it.
And regarding bugs etc., with 40 hours in the game already, i have encountered some bugs but by far not gamebreaking ones. Especially after the day one patch.
In conclusion, compared to the first one, what was already really good, its better in every aspect and i really really love this game!

    Cons:
Story- The story isn’t bad by any means however it could have been much better. Choices are cool, but don’t do enough. I honestly like the side quest more than the main quest.
Bugs- I played on the ps5 and had minimal bugs. I’ve had 1 crash so far which isn’t to bad. Only reason it’s on the cons is because it seems bugs vary.
Performance- This is kinda nitpicking, but Ps5 performance was good but not perfect. Had frame drops from time to time which were annoying. Wasn’t too bad tho. Don’t know how last gen runs so be careful.

Overall I enjoyed my time with this game. Can’t wait to get back on and play. If u want something to entertain u for a while this game is perfect. After all isn’t that why we play video games, to be entertained.

A true successor. If you want to know what the game is like, rather than read about how it doesn't have Italian or isn't the picture of perfection, than this is the review for you.

This game expands literally every aspect of the previous game from parkour, to combat to stealth and even story. The parkour has been totally overhauled, some moves have been kept but even better ones have been added. You can run on walls, chain moves easier, jump huge gaps, it feels incredible.

Combat has seen the addition of blocking, some parkour/fighting moves such as vault kicks and a new more RPG weapons system which doesn't allow for as much creativity as the first game, but it also forces you to use more than just one weapon as you can't just craft another of the same thing.

Stealth is probably the weakest area of the game but it can be important and is reasonably well done. You have your basic stealth system with tables and tall grass to hide in, but the AI is not stupid and will see you pretty easily, so it's somewhat challenging to be quiet. Maybe you like that challenge, it's not my favorite but it is what it is.

The story is honestly pretty fantastic. I hear a lot of people aren't into it but I genuinely don't understand why. The choices you make certainly feel pretty important to me, and there are some high stakes moments for sure. I would have to play through again to know how much choices matter but they seem pretty important so far. Aside from that I'm always itching to get to the next story mission, and have to force myself into side quests.

I say that like it's a bad thing, but the side quests are as good as the story if not better. They have cutscenes of the same quality as the campaign, and often tie into the main quests and in some cases can influence them, which is really interesting. Mostly though they are simple, find someone who is looking for someone else, deliver a weird package for a guy, beat the crap out of zombies with a bat that sends them to the moon, etc. There's a great variety here.

Finally, the biggest thing this game has added is the loot and crafting system. Techla d clearly wanted to make this game an RPG and they delivered. Now blueprints seem to be a bit harder to get, and once you get them they all suck. But you can upgrade them several times, with craftmasters. You could make upgrading certain tools or mods you use a lot your priority, or try to diversify. Whatever you wish, you will have to hunt special zombies like goons and bolters and others for their trophies. Subsequent upgrades are more expensive and require increasingly more rare parts. Ultimately this is about as good of a game as you will find, and it's really something special. A few bad apples are hung up on performance on PC or language options. It's 2022 after all, you need to find something to complain about or you aren't relevant apparently. Absolutely recommend and hope you found the review helpful!

They've expanded on some of the things like the aesthetics of the dining room and a flashier, vibrant menu. Upon inspection of the menu, however, you discover that some of your favorite classic dishes are missing, and some meals come with a few less ingredients that made that delicacy special. Would you be disappointed?

This is the dilemma of Dying Light 2. While some features such as parkour have vastly improved, heavier RPG elements broadened the gameplay, and characters have added depth to the storyline, combat pacing has become stale and slow, exploration has become grindy and less rewarding, and the very premise of a zombie apocalypse invoking challenge and fear is lost in a colorful, vibrant and forgiving world.

Story - Simply put, the story excels in this sequel with multiple story arcs through decision-making that can affect the outcome. Some characters have compelling dialogue and seem genuine, while others make you question whether they even want to exist. Ultimately, their fates end up in the protagonist's hands, being able to choose an answer to conversations that can define who lives and dies and the future of the city. Two factions go head-to-head, and it's up to you to pick which side will provide the narrative. From better combat mechanics to traversing the city with parkour gimmicks, advancing one faction can determine the perks you will receive throughout the game.

Gameplay - The parkour system is better than its predecessor. The fluidity of catching ledges, hiking up vehicles and hopping obstacles has never been smoother. Skill tree perks make for more interesting environment interactions. New mechanics such as paragliding make for some exciting and fun travel across the city.

Equipping stated gear has added an interesting new RPG aspect to the game. Some gear improves survival and exploration, some for bulking up and fighting better in close combat, and some for improved ranged performance.

However, combat has devolved to a slower pace. In fact, against most bandits you'll find it comparable to a "turn-based" game. You'll await a strike and dodge or parry the opponent, and then follow up with either striking or vaulting them to dropkick the enemy behind them. A.I. does not provide any real pressure, as only one tends to strike at a time. Zombies are slower this time around and pose no real danger as you hack and slash multiple zombies with a single hit. Their bites are slower, weaker, and generate no fear for the player. Even during the night hours of the game, most zombies aren't a threat and can be ignored.

Environment - There is definitely far more to see in this world than the original, and its teeming with both life and undead. Almost too much can be found in fact, as many buildings can be explored. Unfortunately, it begins to feel like a grind, and some areas will feel all too familiar and repetitive in nature. There's far too much that can be found, and the world begins to feel less apocalyptic and more a loot fest. Visually, everything is vibrant and colorful, which is the opposite of what you'd expect in a zombie apocalyptic world.

Audio - There's almost nothing negative to be said about the sounds and music in this title. Some familiar tracks will bring nostalgia, while some new ones will be uplifting and immersive.

    Final Score: 6/10.

It's a mixed bag. If you liked the rigidness of the first title in the franchise, slashing and shooting zombies with intensity and the gloom of the world, you may find this sequel to be a downgrade. On the other hand, if you prefer a more simplified approach to combat and exploring endless building interiors for loot, this might be the game for you.

Ive been gaming for 30+ years. I havent stopped playing this game since I bought it. Thats extremely rare nowadays for me. Games are usually boring and repetitive. This game is not. Its an awesome game!! Is it Game of the Year? Its definitely a contender. Is it perfect? Definitely not!. Am I having loads of fun? Absolutely!!! The RPG elements are well thought out. Not too complex or deep. People comparing to Cyberpunk are stupid. Cyberpunk is boring af. Havent touched that garbage pile in almost a year. Plus Cyberpunk isnt even close to being a complete experience. Parkour is slow at first but once you start leveling and picking your traits its gets faster and cooler. Not having guns is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, think of it as a fantasy RPG. Besides it makes sense that there are no guns left (There is bows and a makeshift ranged weapon deeper in the game). The world is different and has changed in 15 years and not alot of people or structures survived. Combat is satisfying and works great. I loved the first game, but it got boring in parts and i had to push myself through. This game adds colors, music, atmosphere and better AI then the first one. A task with a power plant in downtown, the elevator went up and now it doesn’t go down, now you can’t get to the right floor. Story mission. Been running for 16 hours now. What should I do now, start the game from the beginning?! just freaks ... Go on, you're shorter, the disc is on Avito and now it's only a torrent.

A lot of people worked on this game. Most of you Italian enthusiasts haven't even picked up the game. Stop punishing Techland for doing the best they could. These people had it rough developing this game. They are known for improving their games over time. An Italian language option will probably get worked into the game in a future update or something. But like Jesus Christ guys. I hate the fact that the user score is either stagnant or decreasing. Techland is not a bad company and DL2 is not a bad game. I'm enjoying it a lot actually. Please have some sympathy. Game development is hard it takes a lot of hardwork and dedication. You wouldn't want something that you worked on and put genuine effort into to be hated and despised for being flawed. None of us would like that, put yourself in their shoes look at this with an open mind. There is a lot to love in this game and I don't think it's fair for techland or DL2 to suffer just because they had to make some cutbacks for the game to be released this year. This isn't Cyberpunk guys, they tried, they really did. Please we as human beings are supposed to be more understanding and sympathetic towards each other. No human is perfect, no game is perfect. With an amazing world to explore, polished combat, new mechanics, and a decent story, Techland deliver yet another masterpiece; proving once again that they are capable of delivering quality games in a time when it feels like most games fail to deliver on even the simplest of things.

Dying Light 2 picks up years after the original; I won't go into detail to avoid spoilers, but I will say it does an amazing job of following up the original while also feeling fresh and not catering to the original *too* much. The story is the only lacking part of this game and even then it's decent and is better than the original by miles. I enjoyed the story, though I personally think it does lack in some areas, for the most part, it was fun. The game's combat improves upon the original in every aspect, with parrying, directional dodging, and parkour combat. Whether it be an agile baseball bat or a heavy stopsign two-handed axe every weapon has its own unique flow to it and it feels like there is actually weight to every punch you throw. The combat with both humans and zombies is fun and you might even find yourself starting fights when you don't need to.

Villedor is a truly remarkable location to explore, from colonial-era streets to modern-day skyscrapers and subway stations, from packs of the zombie horde to groups of survivors out for blood, Dying Light 2 delivers on the world, the combat in the parkour in the best way possible, though failing to lack in its story department, the world is a fresh canvas of paint for the player to explore. I highly recommend Dying Light 2.

I have put almost fifty hours in and it is extremely addicting. Quests are interesting, different and have cool rewards. No spoilers but the story is excellent with great voice acting but facial expressions aren't there to what they are saying sometimes. Also, how does It run? Well I have a copy of the PS5 version and eventually will get a PS4 copy but it runs really smooth. I don't know why this game is getting knocked for bugs. I have only experienced two bugs one that cut out dialogue in the beginning of the story in one sentence and one that makes the characters eyes grey. After the day 1 patch that was resolved. I would play the next gen experience however in performance only with locked 60fps because the other two modes are pretty rough running at 30fps. Like the first the big highlight is the open world parkour and how fun and unique it is. Im not going to base this review off the first because that isn't fair because just a for warning to those returning Dying Light players this is a completely new experience. It is very different and lots of different mechanics and atmosphere. It takes time to get at that level of being a badass like in the first one but it is very satisfying when you reach it. Also, those concerned about guns and other things that maybe absent that people enjoyed so much in the first one. Just be transparent and join the Dying Light community because this company has a good reputation for communicating with their community. This game I would rate a 10/10 just because of the pure dumb fun that can be done again like in the first one with a very interesting story. Expand

Fighting against humans is more entertaining than in DL1 but to be honest i think that if they would add pairing to DL1 combat style it would be already better than this. About a parkour - i hate that i can't sprint whenever i want, probably parkour might be better when u unlock more skills but it clearly simplified compared to DL1 i guess just to make game easier for kids (*for me same thing like EA did BF2042) and it feels TOO SLOW. City look's also simplified and i felt like there is just few routes to go when in first one i was making my ones. New night system a.k.a chase stars from GTA might be a not that bad, expect that night in DL1 was so much better. Game lost this atmosphere of danger and the whole game looks totally no sandbox but like scripted RPG game and it's not on Witcher's 3 level. In my opinion they get rid of things that was keeping me in DL1 for years instead they gave my totally basic combat system with lack of animations and changing the all rules how zombie works in sequel compared to original one (zombies are inside at days, leaving at night + u can meet Volatiles when u gain chasing level) are very freakin bad. How u can get rid of core of franchise? I loved the momentum when i saw full streets of zombies in DL1 and i liked to watch when they were falling over everything. Im not gonna judge on optimization but on RTX 2060 on medium-high without RTX i have like 50-70 fps, playable. There are some glitches ofc but they will fix that i guess. What i don't like about graphic, it seems more cartoonish - it's not on Borderlands Level but i prefer more "realistic" DL1 style. City looks imo bad, no chance vs Harran. About music? I don't know, first theme in prologue gave me that minecraft feeling, in best case fantasy RPG game like PIllars of Eternity - but again, world looks so empty like in izometric RPG where only your actions have impact. It's not living at all. For these who liked same things like me in DL1 - think twice about bying it. BTW. better start on hard, there is totally no challange on normal Expand

I want to give it a 5.5/10 really. Unfortunately I played Dying Light 1 and that IS what I have to compare this against. Because the bar was set for that game at 8.5/10 for me. I LOVED going through Haran. Running through it was awesome and fast paced. This feels cumbersome.

Plus its DYING LIGHT. Light does not feel precious as it did in the first one. Day time has its moments

Plus its DYING LIGHT. Light does not feel precious as it did in the first one. Day time has its moments and you can get into trouble. But day time is bliss. Light is safe. The shadows in the first one are scarier. You play in them too long and suddenly you look into the light to gauge how much time you have left before you NEED to run. The world feels safe but dry with that sun high in the sky. And as it wanes and sets the pressure is on. Not by some stupid artificially imposed timer either. Horrible choice there. HORRIBLE. But the light in the first game felt like it WAS DYING. I cannot express how much I loved the atmosphere of the first game.

This second one has none of that. Day time is a total joke. Night isn't that bad. The only thing I hated at night is the damn timer.

And no fixing weapons?? Why? There are so many other things I cannot understand or fathom. Bad dev choices.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human looks more like a DLC to the first game than a whole new one. This does not mean it is a bad game, but it is not one that you should rush to buy. It looks and feels like you are playing the same Dying Light from years ago, and despite the storytelling being solid and entertaining, it is not enough to justify buying it right now.

Delivering a huge improvement on the first title, but lacking with new features, Dying Light 2 Stay Human is quite fun, brutal, rewarding and a game of exceptional quality when it comes to the open world. Minor issues still exist here, but Techland successfully manages to live up to the hype surrounding the game.

Dying Light 2 ups the ante from the original in almost every way, offering more satisfying parkour, combat and enough jump scares to make you never want to walk in the darkness ever again. A worthy and essential sequel.
