Especially as a sorc main I feel bait and switched, the game I paid for feels nothing like the one I have now and I'm stuck with it. After over 40 hours of play the 7 I originally gave this is a 3, AT BEST. I will revise this when and if Blizzard makes any meaningful changes. Expand

The thing is, diablo 4 was fun at first, until the dev team decided to slowly wreck everything up with either their ego or just pure stupidity. Diablo is fun due to its versatility on builds and items crafting/ hunting and also its level grind was bearable. Some how they manage to burry the game slowly with each patch, what a joke. What's need to be fix were constantly ignored while implementing nerfs on unneeded segments is pure JOKE, not sure the dev team trying to clown us or themselves at this point. Builds were suppose to be working from every classes are not working correctly ( they dont fix **** on every goddamn patch they impose, all they do is nerfing something else ) , zero quality of life ( even after tons of recommendation from users/ actual players have suggested ) they seems to be blind on this one, and finally it came to its glorious 1.1 patch, downright the most **** if not one of the patch in arpg history in recent years. You strip the fun out of the game you bunch of stubborn mules, why make a patch focusing to slow the entire game down? Nerf on exp gain, damage, affixes, armor, damage reduction and etc, like seriously? We were asking for endgame content, slowing the game down wasnt a content ffs, not at all. You guys dont like seeing people having fun is that it? or is it just a scheme to make the progress of season one direly slow so it would force people to do ingame purchase to level up the seasonal pass level? The list goes on but if you think nerfing the game on every patch is the way to keep the game going, well good luck on that, effing mules. Expand

    As someone who has both a well geared WW or HOtA lvl100 Barb and Summoner or Boner lvl100 Necro I have had the experience of playing both;

    Ranged and Melee,
    AoE and Single Target Dmg,
    High Burst and Consistent Dmg,
    Minions and No Minions builds,
    CC immune or Chain CC'd to death,
    Fast and Slow,
    Nerfed and insanely OP,

    classes simultaneously and the sad truth is I'm not even this disappointed due to the terrible state of balance or the lack of endgame content, the endless grinding of same dungeons, the horrible lack of any QOL that we have been asking for since day 1 in this game, it's knowing they did this not for the health of the game but to kill the eternal realm characters so everyone would be forced to play seasons and buy their overpriced battlepass and farm their new seasonal gems to get back the power they once had before patch 1.1 was released.

    Oh yes and I have receipts for my "conspiracy theory" as a reference here is the article stating and I quote;

    "All I know is that quest designer Madeleine James promised me some wild Diablo 4 Sorcerer builds in Season 1, and I can’t wait to see them. They rely on the new Diablo 4 Malignant Hearts, which will hopefully make up for a few of the latest patch’s rougher nerfs; my Sorceress needs a boost, okay?"

    Source: https://www.pcgamesn.com/diablo-4/limit-builds

    Basically every 3 moths we'll release you a new gimmick in a season to make you feel powerful again. But you better only play seasons because if you don't guess what? back to feeling like an absolute slog to level or grind gear in the eternal realm for you. This is just 1/100 of the problems in this game and 5000 char is not enough to really say what needs to be said in this game.

    This could be a really good game, but it must be rated as low as possible on moral principal alone. Blizzard's goblin execs have clearly put forth the mission to D4's devs that this game's purpose is not to be fun or entertaining, but rather a tedious time-waster that brute-forces "engagement" in the hopes of selling seasonal content and incredibly overpriced and underwhelming transmogs, which could almost be forgiven if not for the $100 entry fee most loyal fans paid to get a taste of this tragicomedic, satirical representation of an ARPG. Everywhere you turn in this game you are faced with an obtrusive obstacle, sometimes literal, that seeks to do nothing other than slow you down and prevent you from getting anywhere or having any fun. If you somehow find a way to play the game at a high level or a fast pace, Blizzard will stop you dead in your tracks and weaken your character with quite possibly the most reviled patching in gaming history. With constant back-tracking in dungeons, horses that forget how to gallop, literal roadblocks, LoL-inspired recall times, and just plain old damage stat reductions, Blizzard has proven nothing since launch other than that they do not understand the ARPG genre or what its fans are seeking. Or worse yet, they do know, but they don't care, because all that matters to a giant, evil corporation is profit (don't believe me? Diablo Immortal).
    If you were fortunate or intelligent enough to not entrust your money to this God-forsaken corporation to play this game, do yourself a favor and keep your credit card in your wallet until D4's absolutely dented team of developers is fired and replaced by people who actually play the game and understand the genre (and can do basic math and not release half-baked and boring itemization systems).

    The campaign was fun, but the game stagnates terribly after level 50. The developers have made numerous changes to make the game even slower and more of a time sink. There are dozens of better games being released this year which respect your time. This game does not.

    The devs and community managers promise attention to and fixes for numerous issues, but then the patches exacerbate the issues instead of solving them. The focus seems to be on forcing players to spend as much time in the game as possible, not on making the game fun.

    Rated a 1 for the campaign, which is pretty decent. But that goes quick, and the midgame/endgame is abysmal, with seemingly no improvements on the horizon.

    The way Blizzard treats players reminds me of an abusive spouse. They’ll shower you with small “gifts”, then knock you around a little bit to put you in your place, then they’ll say sorry and act like they’ve changed, only to hit you

    This game has a tons of issues need to be addressed. But Blizzard chose to ignore them, ignore the pains of players. They don't priority the problem solving, and even made some most critical ones worse. That is ridiculous. I never saw any company like Blizzard lacking of customer care.

    Game started off lack luster, but fun. Then the first page for the first season came out and they went backwards in every direction possible, even increasing the time it takes to go back to town after finishing a dungeon by two seconds. This game went from being potentially one of the best ARPG games to a steaming pile of dog excrement in a single patch.

    Diablo Dev in a nutshell: uodate everything that is fun.
    How do we get players to play more and longer hours?
    Reduce exp gain, add more walls, slow them down, make them wait longer.

    How do we make it challenging for players? Nerf class skills, nerf damage, nerf items, nerf aspects, buff monster.

I explain, when you're running after your goal in the game and you're trying to optimize your time in order to make the gameplay less boring and repetitive as possible, for example, a dungeon that contains a lot of mobs, they (Devs) go there and take that possibility away from you even though it’s something in the game. The thing here is that they want you to be in an infinite loop farming xp and mediocre items from monsters and getting next to nothing as a reward. Weakened all classes to try to “balance” things and try to make it challenging but it actually became an unbearable game. This game is currently completely different from what they released a month ago. Spend your time doing something rewarding and fun, something you really feel motivated to do. all the devs of this game do is kill your motivation.

    Everything you try to do in the game to improve your gameplay, be it a dps focused build or an efficient farm it is reason to nerf. forget being happy in this game my friend.

    Game was phenomenal with the original intent and design, but after a recent patch, the intent by the developers is to drive people away from the game to lower server populations with blanket reductions to capabilities, introducing class breaking flaws instead of providing corrections. Just another corporate money grab at this point. What a shame.

    Devs are either deaf or are so focused on how they think the game should play they never asked if the user will have fun with the experience. I have no reason to play ever again thanks to Blizzard’s idea of making this a live service online only. It got boring really quickly when 99% loot is vendor trash. So much lack of content once you’ve beaten the campaign. I once had faith in this game when they listened and increased EXP gains much higher in nightmare dungeons. YET they release this patch and did a 180, making grinding/leveling that much more difficult!! If they wanted to gut all the fun from the game, why release it with all the stuff they took away from their players, which was subpar to begin with….? There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.
