This patch is an awful attempt to balance the game by making everything less fun and take longer. And still no quality of life upgrades that all exist in the previous game, D3. Were no lessons learned?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game has been on a down hill slope since release. I have no problem grinding through ranks, also no problem with elusive gear and the effort it takes to obtain it. I do have a problem with the developers constantly nerfing the ability to rank at a reasonable pace, that has become borderline unplayable at this point. They are constantly making it take longer and longer to rank and creating a very linear path for a dungeon game, I feel for all of you who has had their builds completely stomped on by the jerks at blizzard, I have deleted the game. Pretty convenient how they would nerf the eternal realm, and order for their paid BS season 1 to look better. This is garbage and gamers should not support such companies, cash grab trash. RIP Blizzard, I miss you Expand

Update: Watched latest fireside chat. I now have ZERO confidence these people will know what the F they are doing. Zero interest in season 1. I'll recheck things in season 2 or 3.

First 2 beta and server slam was fun. First 2 weeks was fun. Things started getting more MEH as patching and hotfixes came. Last patch (1.1) pretty much destroyed the game. So much for season 1 hype.

I recently purchased this game, and let me start off by saying that even a rating of -10 is too generous for it. Considering the price tag of 100 EURO, which is no joke in today's gaming industry, I feel obligated to share my thoughts to prevent others from wasting their hard-earned money. Before I delve into the negatives, let me remind you that there is a game on Steam called Path of Exile (POE) which is not only free-to-play but also offers a better experience.

    Negatives:

Slow: The pace of the game is painfully slow, making it tedious to progress and engage with the content.
Poor quality: The overall quality of the game is subpar, resulting in a frustrating and unsatisfying experience.
Lack of excitement: The game fails to provide any thrilling or engaging moments, making it boring to play.
Useless skills: The available skills within the game are lackluster and fail to add depth or enjoyment to the gameplay.
Limited content: The game lacks a variety of enemies to fight against, leading to repetitive and monotonous gameplay.
Lack of endgame: There is no substantial endgame content to keep players engaged once they complete the main storyline.
Absence of meaningful items: The game fails to offer a rewarding loot system or meaningful items for character progression.
Unbalanced characters: The different characters available in the game feel unbalanced and offer little value in terms of gameplay variety.
Comparison to Diablo 2: The skills and gameplay mechanics in this game pale in comparison to the superior Diablo 2.
Annoying glitches and bugs: The game is plagued with numerous glitches and bugs that hinder the overall experience.
Lack of social features: The absence of a party finder and an open-world feel further dampen the multiplayer aspect of the game.
Overall disappointment: This game is simply a cringeworthy, slow, and boring experience that fails to deliver on its promises. It's hard to understand why it was released in such a state.
    Positives:

Playing POE (Path of Exile): On the bright side, there is a fantastic alternative called Path of Exile (POE), which is not only free but also offers a superior gaming experience.
In conclusion, this game was a waste of both time and money. It falls short in almost every aspect, including gameplay, content, balance, and overall enjoyment. I regret spending my hard-earned money on it, and I hope this review prevents others from making the same mistake. I sincerely hope that improvements will be made to address the numerous issues and provide a more satisfying gaming experience. As a paying customer, I would like to request a refund for this disappointing purchase.

I have put 281 hours into diablo IV according to ps5. I main a nado druid that just destroys anything in his path. I'm level 91 and I'm trying to hit 100 but I'm so bored. I must have 1000s of hours in diablo 3 and even more in diablo II LOD, maybe 1000 in d2r.

So to start, I didn't buy early access. I wanted to buy the disc version as my trust for blizzard has thinned out over the years and wanted to be able to resell my copy of the game if it turned out to be a fail.

Let's start by talking about the story. I found the story to be overhyped and nothing special. I'm not much into story based games personally, I've always been more focused on end game. However, I did enjoy god of war: ragnarok story, although I went into it knowing it's a single player game and well...it came with my ps5.

Levelling at first was fairly tolerable, as I said, I was doing all the dungeons, side quests, renown. Can't see myself doing it all again, which is a shame, because I tried levelling an alt barbarian and just couldn't stay interested. So I tried rushing the story on my barbarian, hit level 25 and found out at that point the story increases to level 35. Okay no worries, I'll just do dungeons until level 35. This was a problem, I hit level 27 and I couldn't be bothered. It's boring running dungeons over and over for the small amount of experience you get. So replaying story viable? Sure, if you're the most boring person on the planet. This will be a HUGE issue when season starts up in a couple of weeks.

So I went back to my druid to never look at my barbarian ever again. Started doing nightmare sigils again to work towards level 100. I only played 40 minutes and couldn't be bothered with it. It's boring, running the same dungeons that feel like bounties from diablo III. "Slay all enemies", "grab this item, put it in the thing and go backtrack to pick up the second one", "free all slaves", BORING.

Okay so I now need some forgotten souls, which you can only get from helltides. This is literally just killing stuff in the open world to collect tokens and click the chests. BORING.

Inventory space is tiny, there is no where near enough stash space. Forget making a alt (let alone a couple of alts), I don't have room to store all the aspects.

Build diversity, rubbish. I'd love to be some crazy were bear, tornado build that worked well in later levels. No, you must collect the tempest roar and play the only viable way that 99% of all other end game druids play.

What's with the legendaries and aspects? Wouldn't it have been better to go with what was proven to work? Uniques, set items, rune words. Where the hell are set items and rune words? Have these developers not learnt what the community finds enjoyable? So they come up with this aspect system, half of the aspects are useless.

So, basically, end game is repeating dungeons that feel like diablo III bounties and doing helltides. Both of which are boring. PvP? yeah if you find someone in those PvP zones, don't expect it to be balanced though. I don't play PvP, so it doesn't affect me, but it'll never be balanced, so why bother implementing it? It's just as bad as what brawling was in diablo III. No one cared for it.

This game is probably a good 2 years from being finished. It feels rushed out to appease investors. However, if levelling doesn't change, I don't think the game will survive half of season 1. They need to delay season 1 until they actually finish the game.

We're missing so many what the developers call "QoL" choices. These should have already been in the game. I can't save a specific build like I could in diablo III? LAZY. The only end game is dungeons and helltides? LAZY. Mount getting stuck on the smallest pebble? LAZY. No group finder? LAZY.

Giving this game a 2/10 is being generous. Almost every aspect of this game is worse than its predecessor or non existent. Only reason I have given it a 2 is because I like the paragon board, BUT they messed that up too. To respec you have to refund each and every node. Where is the mass refund option? LAZY.

If you're just looking for a game to casually slog through a mediocre story, this game is for you. If you're looking for a game with in-depth, innovative end game, stay clear from this one for at least another year or 2. Stick with diablo III or D2R and pick the game up when it's in the sales bin. The only features diablo IV has above these games are the paragon board (idea stolen from PoE) and riding around on a clunky mount.

There are no items to go after. Nothing is interesting. There is no end game meta loop in place and I'm under the impression the developers have no idea what that is. You'd think this is so game breaking they'd hotfix it. Nothing. Not even a comment.

But again, there are no items to go after. Nothing interesting that could drop other than a couple of chase items, but you have a better chance of being struck by lightning so they're effectively not in the game. No cool items around jah or ber drop levels. Like why would I log in?

Even if there were cool items like that, you can't trade them. They should have made a regular trade mode (which is what everyone wants to play whenever given the choice) and a self found mode. But they have their weird hybrid version where you can only trade rares. I dread going back to town because scanning through every rare is a tedious process. Item filters could take care of that but nope, can't have that.

Whenever fun is found in the game, they nerf it or eliminated it. They insist you play only nightmare dungeons in order to be efficient. I have no interest playing hide and seek with blocks to put on pedestals. What ever happened to just sniping elites on the way to a quick boss kill that can drop good loot. This isn't rocket science.

They have lighting in a bottle with D2 but refuse to make an actual sequel to it. Instead we get this drivel because they think their ideas are better.

I mean it seems this is actually not an ARPG . I mean at least myself, i enjoy ARPG because i never know what loot is just around the corner and will it something drop that will enable me to face roll current mobs and let me feel overpowered. But instead here, you will get +5dmg , + 20armor a couple of times per level, where you will scale your power at the rate of your paycheck increase. This game is like inflation, your gear kinds get better slowly but the world around you gets much stronger. There is no sense of slot machine dopamine hit ARPG style of play. This is just retail World of Warcraf and it's a damn shame.

It’s unfair to die in this manner, outside the players control. As silly as this may sound, because it’s only a video game, this loss feels devastating to me. I guess it's my fault for expecting more after two garbage releases IE D3 and Immortal. The sanctity of this game has been fouled and I don't see it being fixed anytime soon. 2 out of 10 is being generous as the design is okay. It's already a slog to level a character but now with the xp reductions and reductions to defensive and damage pools (which damage btw will still be protiortized by players because it's multiplicative and not additive) this process now of getting a character to a point players are happy with will be excruciating. Especially for those who play casually and cant commit the 200+ hours it will now take to get just one character to level 100. They've also taken all the end game content and forcing your hand in where you can essentially play so unless your doing nightmare dungeons or helltides (which mind you helltides only happen every few hours and the best chest to open costs more now) you'll be basically wasting your time to do anything else....why should a game punish you for wanting to play other parts of the game? About the only developer that doesn't suffer from this problem is fromsoft. They should have fired the lot of them when they started making false allegations of sexual harassment, everyone knows that female pattern anti social behaviour. They should have been fired.

The gender comptencence gap clearly shows in this end product of employing women based solely on their ability to whinge, rather than on competence. They don't play games and they have no idea what makes a good game feature.

This especially shows in the end game. There are so many design choices that are just simply annoying.

Free 6 prisoners, carry this to the pedestal. Cursed shrines. Having to roll sigils for rubish dungeons you don't want to run.

I have 2 chsracters to 100 (both S tier) a 70 barb and a 50 druid. So I have played plenty of this game.

And the end game is just annoying. I get what they were trying to do, but it just doesnt work and its annoying. Why didn't the clowns who were in the closed beta point all this out. Especially the boring dungeon design and the rediculous amount of back tracking.

Im giving it a 6 which i think is fair and that is taking into account the review bombing. Improve the end game a LOT and it might get an 8-9.

Late game is a CC fest so your builds are incredibly limited. If you don't have unstoppable then you get rooted constantly and there's no diminishing returns on that so the already slow combat and boring fetch quests gets even more slow.

Bugs everywhere on release and still plenty of things wonky with it - don't get me started on the countless, highly dubious early user reviews on here all with similar wording about how it's the "smoothest launch" from accounts with only 1 review against them that also somehow share similar sentence structure and choice of vocabulary (yeah I know this is my first review on this account but this whole situation really annoyed me so I had to create it and get this off my chest).

Questionable design choices - like I can remove all my skill points by holder square but my paragon points have to be unpicked one by one and there's loads of them.

Slow levelling - by later levels it just takes too long to be entertaining and certainly too long for me to want to create alts/seasonal characters. I did a nightmare dungeon 4 levels above mine and got barely a tenth of a level out of it (plus none of the gear that dropped was above my level, what they hell?)

They seem to want you to create more characters for different builds but that process just takes too long with the current levelling, you also have only 4 stash tabs which is nowhere near enough. Your other option is re-speccing your character which you can do anywhere you like for minimal cost but they made it laborious to do so and there's no option to save builds.

If you want to slow down your combat then fine, but make it interesting
If you want to make your dungeons take long then fine, but make them fun
If you want to encourage more characters being created then fine, but provide basic stuff like stash tabs and faster levelling
If you want to slow down levelling then fine, but make it rewarding
And so on and so on and so on.

Prior to season 1 (June - July 2023) I spent 100+ hours playing. Exploring the world and the five difference classes (Druid, Sorcerer, Barbarian, Necromancer, Rogue).

Although each class has a huge variety of possible builds, I was a little disappointed that only a few of those builds were actually viable for leveling and end game content (lvl 60+) but mostly enjoyed the game. I chose popular and effective meta build for each class and hoped that Blizzard would iteratively improve on the other skills to increase the effectiveness of other builds. For example, I built an ice shard sorcerer but would have preferred a lightning build.

With patch 1.1 rolling out just prior to Season 1, many in the gaming community expected Blizzard to make those class improvements, especially to the sorcerer class. Sadly, they chose to nerf the few builds that were effective, rather than improve those that weren't. Now the game is nearly unplayable after level 60 and any enjoyment I received from the game has turned into pure frustration.

The Blizzard team is completely disconnected from their own game, their player base, and have no interest in building a game that people enjoy playing. They seem to care more about forcing players to grind levels, pray for decent loot drops, and experience hours of frustration rather than enjoyment.

Congrats you made some good money using marketing, the blizzard label, and the communities hope. A game can be the most beautiful in the world but if we cant engage with it then its useless. No one wants something that is exclusively pretty to look at, we want to play an actual game. The decisions they have made communicate volumes about their competency and the direction they want to go. The game has god awful item design, build diversity, item diversity, character respec, end game, and worst of all...an incredibly disconnected negligent dev team.

It is not for the casual gamer. I have only played through the first two acts and already the game feels like a grind. The stronghold and dungeon bosses seem stronger than the campaign bosses do. I also don't like how some dungeon and stronghold bosses can throw everything to include the kitchen sink at you. It D3 that wasn't the case. Some stronghold bosses have attacks that D3's Diablo would just dream about. One stronghold boss has like 4 different attacks and can spawn minions infinitely so you're running from his four attacks and his minions at the same time. And they just can't seem to get the Necro right. They couldn't get him right for D3 and they continue that in D4. His minions die way to fast. They are absolutely worthless in a boss fight, especially a stronghold or dungeon boss fight. I have to play the game with another hero. Maybe I picked one of the worst heroes to start with because there are times when the Necro is just unplayable and those times seem to be during boss fights. Necro doesn't have good crowd control or able to destroy garbage easily. Most of the time I find myself running around occasionally respawning minions because they die instantly. My main attack does nothing to garbage. I'm not expecting minions to be invincible but they shouldn't die instantly either. And I don't like the throw the kitchen sink mentality either. if they don't want the casual gamer to play and like D4, that's fine. I can't play a game if it feels like work and there is no fun in the game. I don't have a lot of time to devote to game playing and the time I have needs to be fun and entertaining. I much rather play MK11 or another game where you can actually beat the boss. I also don't understand the entire map level getting higher while my do. Shouldn't I be able to reach a level where if I go back to an area, I can just wipe it clean because I'm at a higher level. That should definitely be the case for strongholds and dungeons. They should have a Min and a Max and if I reach a level higher than their Max, I should be able to wipeout that stronghold with ease. Strongholds shouldn't increase in level as I do. They should have a Max. And Dungeon bosses and Stronghold bosses should not be more powerful than Campaign bosses. And the game should be balanced. This game is definitely not balanced. I should be able to complete the game with any hero. I also should be able to beat any boss with any hero and that is not the case. And the Necro minions, make up your mind. Either they are a valuable and viable solution in the game or get rid of them and place them only in a build. If the Necro decides to walk alone, then give them options for solo fighting. That should be the case if you are going to give him minions that die right after the bosses first wave of attacks. They definitely show you how weak they are if they can die during a fight with dungeon or stronghold garbage. The Necro needs stronger solo attacks. Necroes definitely do not have an advantage because of the minions. I would say it is a disadvantage because they make you think, they will be useful in a fight but they are not and you don't have anything to replace them with a good strong solo attack. Also, I would think you wouldn't turn up the difficulty in the game until Mid Act 3 or after Act 3. The game feels like a major grind right after Act 2. The game seems more so like a grind because every levels when you do. What's the point of getting stronger and better gear. If every thing levels when you do, what's the point. You never get to a point where you feel like you can wipe the screen clean of demons. Visually the game looks great and the gameplay is smooth. But the bosses in the strongholds and dungeons are just ridiculous with their kitchen sink attacks. I wish they didn't elicit the opinions of hardcore/expert gamers because that's who they made D4 for, hardcore gamers. Expand

To be honest, I don’t play many MMO-type games because I find the grinding aspect to be really mind numbing & void of much enjoyment. However, one of my best friends recommended it & wanting a way to reconnect with him I bought it. To my surprise, it was really fun. Sure, there was grinding, but there were enough rewards comparable to the time spent. I was surprised to comprehend the skill tree as much as I did, and I found pleasure in designing a unique build & getting the best equipment for it. Then the patch came out. Here’s my assessment: if the goal was to balance the game, they should have added benefits or increased the effectiveness of lesser-used builds. Instead, they decided to level the playing field out by making everyone equally weak. At the same time, I assume bc a few people who have the privilege to play games around the clock complained they finished the game quickly, the developers decided not to put in new, fun content, but instead, thru increased in-game costs, severely lowered drops, and decimated XP, they made the game a slower grind with rare, momentary blips of enjoyment. They made the game more of a time-suck. Literally, they extended the time it takes to leave a dungeon upon completion. My character became essentially null & void. I thought I could somewhat easily change my build & get new equipment, but in addition to not reducing the MASSIVE cost associated with making new gear, now I had a weaker character who took far longer to kill enemies, those enemies dropped far less loot (all of it still random, so the chances of getting what I needed were even lower) the price of opening certain chests was increased at the same time the currency to open it was reduced, and I now gained a fraction of the experience.
I am so frustrated with this game for drawing me in only to turn around and change tone entirely. I haven’t touched the game at all like I had pre-patch. It feels like a chore or like homework now. That’s not why I play games.

While I had reservations following the underwhelming experience of Diablo 3, the early reviews for Diablo 4 were promising, so I decided to purchase it. For the past six weeks, I've been having fun playing the game, despite choosing the Sorceress class, which is considered the weakest for end-game content.

However, my excitement turned to disappointment when patch 1.1 was deployed just two days before the start of the first season. This patch is widely regarded as one of the worst in gaming history. Blizzard essentially ruined the game by implementing massive nerfs across the board, affecting damage, defense, and experience gain, without providing any meaningful quality of life changes such as increased stash space, paragon board rerolls, or alternative build loadouts. The only plausible explanation seems to be that Blizzard lacked sufficient endgame content, so they artificially extended the "boring part" of the game to make players invest more time in grinding.

In today's gaming landscape, such behavior from a game company is completely unacceptable in 2023. Blizzard has become incredibly out of touch with the player base and even with its own game. It is truly disheartening to witness the downfall of what was once such a wonderful game company.

Campaign playthrough in itself not worth the investment for this "AAA" game.

    1. I regret pre-purchasing, will never do this again with a blizzard game. 2. The gameplay is insanely boring. D3 was IMMEDIATELY fun. This is directly opposite of that. 3. Tying into my 2nd point - the grind is WAY over-tuned. I could understand the level of grind they decided on for launch to keep players busy. But to keep that grind for seasonal content is insane to me. There's no way I'm putting in that many hours for a SEASONAL character. In diablo 3 it took about 8ish hours if I remember correctly to get a character to max level during a season. This was pretty long but felt fine (besides you could get boosted later on). The journey to max level was decently fun, getting weird legendaries that spiked your power level even though they weren't meta. That was very memorable to me. And once you hit max level the game was fun for hours and hours on end. I believe the game deserves a 0 rating for now. But I'll happily change it once the game gets better. If someone asked me if they should buy diablo 4 right now I would actively discourage them from doing so and tell them to wait. Please feel free to reach out to me to update this review at a later stage

Stop wanting to make the game for casuals, this is a terrible product. I recommend people go play Path of Exile or Last Epoch if you want to experience rewarding itemization and endgame.

They had an OK base game that needed work, but then they completely unbalanced it and didn't fix the issues they started with.

I played the launch version with lvl 80 Rogue and 85 Druid, they are both broken now. I won't be joining season 1. They made all classes too weak, with maybe necro as exception.

Blizzard's updates always disappointing. After patch 1.1, many players have left. The hidden modifications in this patch 1.1.1 are even more ironic. Thank you, Blizzard, you've had me to uninstall the game.

The greed shines through, the review copy sent to the “journalists” paid to give good reviews was decent but now that the compensated critics have turned their biased findings we can completely try and milk the people left playing. Guess what? There won’t be many. There is a lot to like about the game but it’s far from perfect. I’m not a fan of level scaling, I level up but inevitably feel weaker for awhile. It’s suppose to be a grind but in my opinion is over the top. The endgame is not compelling, but I liked the campaign ok.

You know what they say about hindsight, but I would have waited for this game to be 50% off. Lastly the micro transactions this reduced my score by at least 2. I know people say they are only cosmetic etc. Yet this is a full priced game, the really “cool” skins should be the result of gameplay not $20. If Fortnite wants to sell skins, fine it’s free to play. Selling skins in full price games only incentives developers to hold back content to sell at a premium. We shouldn’t stand for that it’s a slippery slope.

Feels like the game was balanced around streamers and people who play all day. The events are fun and engaging. But, because of the loot drop rates and exp rates at higher levels, it doesn't feel even remotely rewarding. Also, there's no good way to target farm a specific item.

For me this is not what Diablo series should be, totally not what I was expecting.
Quite boring game. While playing with druid (kind of no joy to play at all) wanted to sleep, getting better if switched to mage or necromancer. Feels that some bosses intentionally made harder just to keep ppl in game. If in Diablo III you could relax by killings tons of mobs, here you fight to survive.

For this I have feeling of wasted money. If Diablo III still is installed and being played time by time, then this will be deleted after story completion or earlier (not sure how long I will be ready to suffer by playing this) :) When you get into paragon levels playing gets better, but starting is to slow and what's point of leveling if until level 50 anyway you same difficultly (if not harder) to progress.
I dislike also gear, properties system. Although it's good to have open map from beggining, but what's the point of having all 3 acts available at same time if ending same, it can be felt that because of this story isn't so good as it could be.

I was looking for wonder and amazement, instead of feel like I'm playing a game from a launch decades ago, like Windows 95 era. It is just sooooo bad. I knew they were returning to the art style of d2, I thought I can live with it if it's updated and fresh, but it's just d2 again. My favourite class, the magician is muted and lacks any dimension. Once this character had a little bit of every class except barbarians. Now they've made the class more distinctive but removed all the fun because of this gross oversimplification. And why, God why did they screw the pooch on the skill tree. Instead of this wondrous network of nodes that any player would spend years achieving, it's just tiny, lacks innovation, dimension. This is a game I expected to change my life, again. I'm so, so, so disappointed blizzard. You wrecked it all, I'm crying for you. Just shelve it and start diablo 5. Even the character movement sucks, coded back in 1994. The 2 stars I gave it were based on the good memories from previous iterations. This release deserves minus stars. I was there at the D3 launch. This is better than that.. but somehow they made D3 into a good game, they dropped off EVERY aspect that made that game fun. This game is like other reviews have said. A long, powerless walk simulator with boring items, stories, quests, and everything else. 2 thumbs down blizzard. You have no reason to fail, yet you took every opportunity to.

The game gets boring and stale really quickly. It takes way too long to level and it feels like a torturous, repetitive grind to get to level 50. The horseback riding is embarrassingly buggy (Did anyone on their QA team try to ride a horse). Absolutely not worth $70.

This is at best a free-to-play game that could have cosmetic microtransactions.

What I like about this game?
    - it looks very cool, more like D2 (and i LOVE D2)
    - gameplay is nice
    BUT
Lags are huge and a sometimes game crashes makes this game hard to play for me (and I have pretty nice PC, no other game is so laggy for me like this one).
PvP is very very bad, worst PvP I have ever seen.

The rubberbanding from latency makes the game unplayable, for a game starting at $70 Blizzard CAN afford better servers. it should've worked at launch, and there's simply no excuse for this. If this was a small indie companies first online game it could be forgivable, but this is coming from a company that only creates online games, and is considered an industry leader.

it is possible, that you end up with equip you found with level 60 or 70, because the "best" gear can already drop aslong you play in World-Tier 4

Because the Monsters, scale with your level, at least druid feels never Strong or weak, till level 60 every skill, build, passive and legendary feels more or less the same.

the "end-game" is very very repeditive and boring.

The Main-character from past Diablo-games was imo:
Procedual-generated areas with high deverse Monsters and creative equipment.

In D4 you wont find good procedual-generated areas, the world-map is always the same, and the dungeons just have 2-4 of the same sets. Monsters and bosses are always the same in each dungeon.

The level-requirement is based on your level (endgame), so if you planning the farm some start-items for your alt, you are gonne to cry, cause if you are level 100, the items drop with level 100-requirement^^

The Skill-tree you face is very low, very little and most likely will force you in any kind to play 2-3 playstyles each class conl with the legendary aspects.

the paragon system is better then in D3, its even more creative then the skilltree and is a good start to the endgame.

Overall, the game sucks past level50+- in nearly everything. "BUT IT LOOKS KIND OF NICE... "
Diablo 4 got alot of potential, maybe try it when season 1 starts.

    I played: D1, D2, D2R, D3, D4, PoE, Wolcen, Torchlight 1-3, Titan Quest, Grim dawn
and more hack & slay rpg

D4 (for now) is not in the Top 10

Diablo IV is an uninspired new version of Diablo III mixed with Diablo Immortal.

Itemization is tedious and boring. Too many possible rolls on equipment make it near impossible to find useful new items. To the point where I am not even motivated to check the stats of new equipment and sell it right away.

Mobs spawn around you in placed were it doesnt make any sense. E.g. bears spawning from solid rock floor inside dungeons. I understand that they must be added to the map somehow. But spawning them around you like this is just lazy design. Also this is problematic for ranged classes as they have mobs in their face even if they play the ranged style.

Elites have the same affixes as in Diablo III: mortar, blocker, shock lance (was arcane in D3). Again super lazy design.

For the price tag Diablo IV is a huge disappointment and I really dont understand how this game got so many good reviews from streamers and magazines. Doenst feel honest to me.

As soon as you finish the story, be it lvl 35 or 50, you start the endgame. Running nightmare dungeons, killing world bosses (very rare) and doing some open-world random stuff to get loot.

    Problems:
    1. The game is so easy that defining it casual oriented is an understatement. With a summoner necro you can literally go afk for 5+ minutes and when you come back you see enemies dead all around you, killed by your pet....and this on lvl 62 (character) on world T4 (hardest open world difficulty, lvl 73+)
    2. The activities you do after finishing the story DO NOT CHANGE from T3 to T4. From lvl 50 to lvl 100. You do the SAME THING all day long, all without any challenge due to enemies scaling. You get better gear, to do more damage, but enemies have more health so you see no difference....it is mind-numbing
    3. You have no goal......you get better loot, you get stronger for what?......for nothing
    4. The paragon system is a JOKE. Every upgrade is +x stat or +% damage/defenses....so your abilities and rotation..your playstyle.. will NEVER change from level 50 to 100

So...at least until season 1...hoping for a better game experience...this game is a mind-numbing slog with no real reason to play it other than wasting some of your time turning your brain off

There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.
