    The game is not feel improved in many way. just a huge step back. Just for some example: The mini map too small, is not customizable, can not be placed as transparent over the character like in Diablo 2. The team players teleports all the same, could not distinguish like the Player flags in Diablo3. The inventory is too small, no improvement, like auto salvage option.

    Too many collectibles to use 3rd party map on second device. Instead of in-game built help like a pet barking a direction to Lilith Altars.
    The compare system does not compare the 1 handed weapon to 2nd handed, garbage.
    The dungeons looks very similar to me.
    Oh and I forget the visual effect of my friend's necromancer brown **** which covers the full screen, and could not see the bombs, so annoying and ugly.

    Why are there only eight monster types in the $70 to $100+ game? Connection errors, connection errors, and yet another connection error. Also, I hate there is no offline mod, that $70 will also vanish into thin air after a few years.

    Game is geared toward online influencers, and money. I've played Diablo 2 & 3 and partook in the beta test for Diablo 4 and loved it. You didn't need to be cracked out on amphetamines or energy drinks to challenge a boss on your own. For some reason they eliminated the solo journey. I have one character that can't make it past the gate keepers wolves and is stuck at level 16. AnotherGame is geared toward online influencers, and money.     As good as the design of this game is, it's impossible to ignore how debilitating and immersion breaking the server issues have been. Almost every day I've tried to play since launch there have been several crashes, rubber banding, or inability to login for hours. Blizzard we paid you a lot of money for this game. Invest and fix it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It stats out relatively good with ok story that look like fillers and escalates to some good cinematics in the end. Then i realised that the efficient thing to do is just nm dungeons which look relatively the same all the way to 100. Dungeons have very similar and annoying tasks that includes backtracking all the time. Music is fine and i remember the tracks of few places like Uber Lilith and Ashava. Doing helltides sat this point is just forced for the needed resource and not rewarding enough xp. Graphics and smoothness of combat are the 10/10 of the game. Itemization is simple and hitting a near dead end at 85 and at that point onward takes a week to find a minimal upgrade which is not appealing to me as a gamer that want to spend more time in a game of the calibre of d4. Casual players won't even hit that point at which you start seeing the problems of the game which makes it the perfect dad game. Skill tree is way too simple and paragon board is in the middle (i kind of like it. Give full reset option). Horse riding felt terrible to me with the bumping on corners and hitting npc barricades is the cherry on top. End game lacks things to look forward to. And im not even mentioning the little bugs and random errors and disconnects. My main problem with the game - it lacks many quality of life features that was built in d3 over maybe 10 years that d4 should've had at launch and the lack of interesting things to do / look forward to after certain point - lvl 85.… Expand

    The story is fun, first 80 hours are fun. Once you get to endgame, the lack of online community is a big turn off.

    I was really excited for this game. Diablo going back to it's Diablo 2 roots? Hell yes, sign me up. Then the game came out and it was anything but going back to its roots. The art style is about the only thing that can be considered Diablo 2-ish. Everything else is typical "video game for the modern audience" nonsense. Big, pointless, open world filled with fluff that you'll just end upI was really excited for this game. Diablo going back to it's Diablo 2 roots? Hell yes, sign me up. Then the game came out and it was anything but going back to its roots. The art style is about the only thing that can be considered Diablo 2-ish. Everything else is typical "video game for the modern audience" nonsense. Big, pointless, open world filled with fluff that you'll just end up skipping (like cellars) because it's not worth your time. Map littered with icons (especially once you beat the campaign). Daily chores list that rotates every so many hours. Dungeons with the same two dozen or so tilesets, same dozen-ish objectives, and only 6-8 unique boss types at the end of them. Zone-based renown grinds that they're resetting every season.

    All of this would be okay if the hook of playing were there but it isn't. 1-50 (the campaign portion, essentially) is loads of fun and feels rewarding. But then you hit the late game. Leveling becomes a tedious slog, especially once you hit 70+. Itemization is pure trash with 99% of drops being straight up vendor fodder. You can grind for hours to gain a single level and not see a single meaningful upgrade to your gear. Or, conversely, you can get best in slot stuff in the mid-70s but due to the way the game scales, you'll never change it out from that point onward. There's no significant sense of progression. Skill trees full of fluff passives like "+3/6/9% damage to skill X" and most of the paragon boards are also fluff "+5 to stat" tiles.

    And then yesterday happened. They dropped a patch so egregious that I don't think I've seen anything as bad as it in my 40 years of gaming -- and I've seen some whoppers of bad patches back in my MMO days. They nerfed everyone across the board, made it EVEN SLOWER to level, broke one of the few end game activities (Helltides), and made enemies stronger. They claimed they wanted to expand the number of viable builds people can play but their nerfs have done the EXACT OPPOSITE. At late/end game, you either play a meta build, or delete the game. That simple. Or, if you play a Sorcerer, just save yourself the trouble and go ahead and delete the game.

    Typical knee-jerk Blizzard balance where they drop a nerf nuke on the game because a tiny minority of players have no-lifed the game and found the absolute best stuff the game has to offer. So Blizzard ruins it for the rest of us. It's not my first rodeo with this nonsense -- I watched them do it for years with Arena PvP in WoW and in Overwatch.

    Everything about D4 screams that it's a game built to create good "player engagement metrics" for the shareholders. Fun is secondary. Keeping people grinding, pushing them towards the cash shop, pushing them toward the premium battle pass -- those are their REAL objectives. I cannot recommend this game and I regret buying it, let alone wasting the time to get a Druid into the 80s and a Sorc into the 50s.

    Prior to the patch, I would have given the game a solid 6, MAYBE a 7 on the strength of the campaign and art. But now having spent a significant amount of time at the end game, and seeing this joke of a patch, the best I can give this mess is a 2.    … Expand

    -Level rubberbanding. What’s the point of leveling up if the enemies are always at the same level as you? This just about ruins the entire experience, and they might as well remove enemy and character levels all together.
    -No WASD controls. You have any idea how awkward this game is using a mouse to direct character movement? This should have been a very obvious and basic feature on day one of release. Once again more evidence that this game was rushed to release because of greed.
    -No option to change HUD size. The HUD is fricken huge and always hampering the gameplay. This is another obvious feature that should have been available day one.    … Expand

Blizzard is not the same it once was, the people working at Blizzard ain't same and I think everyone can see this. They only makes the game worse instead of better with patches.     Before, I managed to play 1-3 hours a day because I don't have much time, but since the new battle pass I can't play anymore because of bugs (example I arrive in a village and I can't nothing to do anymore no merchant windows open) and disconnections, crashes (it's so annoying in the middle of a quest and a fight).

    Game is fun for a while. Does look great and has a good story but falls apart in the end game. Poor performance as well. Gets very repetitive and the grind in this game is unlike any other I’ve played. I was giving Blizzard one last chance and now they won’t get another dime from me. Wasted my money and time. Strongly recommend against buying this. At far away from Blizzard.

    Absurd nerfs in patches can come at any time, I can't stress this enough. One day you will be happy and having fun and the next day your character will be unplayable.

    Okay so basically don't get this game. The devs are the worst at reading a crowd that I've ever seen. They clearly don't know what direction to take the game. I spent over 300 hours grinding out the perfect gear and finally felt good and days later they nerfed my character so hard I lost easily 80% damage while more powerful builds got relatively untouched. The gameplay is extremely repetitive, grinding out the same tasks or dungeons over and over. And when I say they are the same I mean literally the same thing. Endgame is absolute garbage. I feel like an idiot for spending so much time and money on this game. Don't fall into the same trap. Please look for a game that respects your time and devs that won't nuke you back into the stone age for no reason what so ever one day while other classes were and continue to outperform. If I were to continue playing I would have legit anxiety that I would be mega nerfed for no reason out of no where.    … Expand

Although the surface level gameplay experience and story line is on par with the rest of the ARPG genre, once you take a deeper look at the details you'll find this game severely lacking. It is buggy, unbalanced, and frankly boring when you are nearing the end of the game. It has been plagued with technical issues in the last two weeks and the latest patch completely turned me off it - I play the game to have fun and don't appreciate Blizzard limiting already limited build options seemingly on a whim. Creating a new build will take me hours with their horrid drop rates and I'd rather not.

    Game started off lack luster, but fun. Then the first page for the first season came out and they went backwards in every direction possible, even increasing the time it takes to go back to town after finishing a dungeon by two seconds. This game went from being potentially one of the best ARPG games to a steaming pile of dog excrement in a single patch.

    Recent patch removed all the fun. The developers did not listen to the community and only decided to do some number changes which they consider as “big 6000 wording patch notes”, which ruined the fun.. the game is a best seller and that is what they came up with?

    Seems the devs don't have a test server. All testing seems to be done on the player base. If they actually do have a test server it does not seem like they use it. Additionally the dev don't have an understanding of what the user/client wants. I expect tomorrow they will try and justify there actions as opposed to a meculpa.     The game was fun in the beginning but becomes like a chore to play after the campaign. Unfortunately the devs are making the game much more slower to play to a point that I regret buying the game. Please play Diablo 2 instead.

    The patch for Season 1 is the worst patch to a game ever. I would not waste your money on a game where they will just destroy your build because it works. That and the completely nerfed dungeon XP which makes killing anything in them pointless. Its like an alternate universe where Blizzard is Lilith and Lilith wins.

Potions, sigils, strongholds, side quests, renown, are all freaking reset. I feel I wasted 200 hours on a level 75+ sorcerer and 60 rogue.     The biggest issue is the actual Lack of a game here. There's no "end game", there's no milestones, there's zero things in the game to keep characters and people actually playing.

    The most recent patch by Blizzard legitimately lowered the power of players in every single Metric. Damage done = Down Damage taken = Up Cooldowns = Increased Experience Gained = Reduced Time to exit    The biggest issue is the actual Lack of a game here. There's no "end game", there's no milestones, there's zero things in the game to keep characters and people actually playing.

    Player power across the board was reduced, BUT, no adjustments, or fixes were implemented to fix or help the huge amount of bugs, and imbalances in the game. Weak classes were made even weaker, while legitimately 1 strong build from 3 of the 5 classes was left basically untouched.

    Sorcerors and Barbarians are legitimately unplayable at the moment even on the "easy" T1 difficulty.

    The Season 1 Mechanic is nothing but reskinned legendary gems from Diablo III, its boring, rehashed content from a game over a decade old.

    The presentation (graphics and sound) are very well done, but the game just isn't fun to play. There is absolutely no sense of progression because all of the enemies scale with your current level, meaning the enemies in the first area will always be difficult to kill. Boss fights are interminable. Item/loot drops are no longer exciting because they don't really make you more powerful.     There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
