    This game is rubbish **** they didn't learn from diablo 3 and it wasn't inspired by Diablo Immortal. You cant play season with main character and continue in story. There is nothing meaningfully to do after story. Only grind again and again. Skill tree looks like it did youtuber kid without experiences from real RPG.     Was really looking forward to this game, pre purchased ultimate edition. Was fun till about level 70-75. And pushed to level 100 only to realise I’ve been playing end game since level 75. And all I was doing was hoping for better loot, which I didn’t really find. The loot drops are really bad. Stats on loot doesn’t match your character, like main attribute, which is will for druid. The entire time I leveled to 100 didn’t see one of the unique druid items once, great staff of the crone. Tried target farming it and kept getting the butchers cleaver. Loot for world bosses, loot from whispering tree and helltide chests is pretty bad. I was picking up sacred loot from level 65 nightmare dungeons… then they patched all the actual fun from the game. Nerfed the crap out of it. If I play this game, it’s literally for about 20mins and I’ve had enough and that was before the patch. I’m playing other games now looking for another game to get into.… Expand

    So, in a world where the community wants more content that's less grindy or repetitive, the devs enforced a patched that does exactly that.
    Now builds are playability are dictated by the buff/nerfs patches.
    I guess I can find more diversity in PoE/Last Epoch.

    This game is terrible. I don't think the develop team know how to run a Diablo game. They simply find out everything that make feel great when playing the game, like strong build, fast level up method, good farming place, and then nerf or remove them ALL.

The cinematics and sounds are not good enough to save the experience that players get at the game. The only good thing it gives the players right now is a lot of excitement for Baldurs Gate 3.     Do NOT buy this game for console yet if you haven’t yet. The controls are currently broken and they don’t seem to have any intention on fixing it along with obvious advantages that comes with playing with a Keyboard and Mouse instead of a controller.
    Then to mention all the massive crap updates they’ve released for 1% of players who have no lives that cried too loud so ruined it for the    Do NOT buy this game for console yet if you haven’t yet.     It already had horrid server connection issues prepatch even if you’re able to download at a rate over 500mbps but now instead of it happening a handful of times a day it’s now a handful of lag spikes every hour at least which doesn’t make sense with how many players are currently legitimately quitting. There is hardly any sort of real support responses on the console side of the support forums; it’s just an overwhelming amount of valid yet repeated complaints or the top 1% who still aren’t playing but occupying their time by telling everyone else how their opinions aren’t valid since their experience wasn’t affected since they already spent all day everyday since pre-release getting perfect gear and solo’ing Uber Lilith without the nerfs.

    If you really want to waste your money then buy it on PC.    … Expand

    Evidently Blizzard's primary goal is to make the least fun game of all time because that's basically what they've done with the latest patch. Any enjoyment that i was getting out of the game was killed. I seriously cannot wrap my mind around how they thought that 99% of the changes in this patch were ok. It's unbelievable.

    Was fun until they ruined every character with the huge nerfs in the newest patch. I was so excited for season 1 and they ruined it. By making my character, that I spent a lot of time on to figure out my build and getting specific items for, completely different and does way less damage and takes way more damage as well.

    I'm mad because of Nightmare Dungeons XP reduction (from +25% for +3lvl to 1,5% for +1lvl - max.10% for +10lvl). Ridicules.

I had only just moved into Torment at lv 71 and was attempting to obtain some better gear to help with the new tier nightmare dungeons yet the nerfs applied yesterday are now making it impossible to complete even a lv 21 dungeon.     This game after the new patch has been terrible. Nerfed the damage for no reason nerfed armor for no reason nerfed cooldown just so you can stand still and wait for cooldowns. Decreased experience gain decreased helltide cinder gains no endgame, new patch added 6 items and dont get me started on uber unique dont waste your time on this game

    Worse patch ever! Made an account just to post my review here. Majority of Diablo players are Millineals who have regular job and just want to unwind and play so every free time is crucial. Way to go making it harder to level and farm! Good job blizzard for Ending the game!!

    The introduction of new legendaries, or lack thereof, feels like an insult to our dedication and enthusiasm. We were promised exciting and innovative items to enrich our gaming experience, yet what we received were unimaginative and lackluster additions. The joy of discovering powerful new gear has been replaced with disappointment, making the loot hunt feel like an exercise in futility.

    To make matters worse, Blizzard has intentionally slowed down the game to an excruciating crawl. What was once an adrenaline-pumping action RPG has now become a tedious slog. The once-thrilling battles have lost their excitement, and the game's pace has been suffocated by unnecessary difficulty spikes. This decision feels like a punishment rather than a challenge, making it impossible to find enjoyment in the game.

    Blizzard's design philosophy seems to have taken a disheartening turn. Instead of rewarding players for their dedication and skill, the company appears intent on making us work harder for fewer rewards. It's as if they are intentionally undermining our efforts to artificially prolong the game's lifespan. This "work harder, get less" approach only serves to drive players away, rather than encourage continued engagement.

    As an unhappy player, one of the most frustrating aspects is the continuous stream of broken promises from Blizzard. We were led to believe in the game's potential and the developers' commitment to delivering a polished and fulfilling experience. However, each new patch seems to exacerbate existing issues rather than resolving them. This betrayal of trust has left me questioning the future of Diablo 4 and my willingness to continue investing my time and energy into a game that has strayed so far from its initial promises.

    In conclusion, Diablo 4's latest patch has proven to be a catastrophic failure from the perspective of an unhappy player.     How do you systemically destroy the casual player base in Diablo IV
    It's one heck of a loaded question and realistically the Diablo team (Fun Police) decided to butcher (nerf) everything that made this game a fun experience. I feel like this patch has truly killed any hope of the casual player base sticking around in the coming days.

    "Hey man, I come home from work and I'm exhausted and I just want to have fun and play a game. I didn't sign on to this. It's not fun anymore and I can barely get through a T40 dungeon.
    I used to do T50-55 and now I'm just done. I can't do it anymore, I'm out"

    They realized people were having way to much fun and were strongly able to beat mid game level content, so they patch and nerf everybody. Sorcerers needed help and instead they buff every single aspect of the class that nobody plays then NERF EVERYTHING FOR EVERY CLASS.

    • After the most recent patch, build diversity is ruined going into S1. If you don’t play Druid or Rogue (or a singular Necro build), you’re screwed. Barb & Sorc are useless. • XP/leveling was already a slog since 85 is considered the halfway point. Now it’s even worse. •    Normally I don’t do reviews, but the way this game has been handled is so egregious that I need to say something.

    • XP/leveling was already a slog since 85 is considered the halfway point. Now it’s even worse. • Itemization is a huge pain. Uniques are too rare and Uber-Uniques are these unicorn items we can never realistically expect to see all of, or even ONE of. They’re not incentivizing in any way. • Communication from the developer feels fake and hollow. They keep saying they hear us, but every update/change rips the fun from the game. Furthermore, they’re super quick to hotfix an issue like shako dropping from helltide chests but can’t fix the reward pool for Druids in a timely manner? They can hotfix less XP in dungeons multiple times but any time we need something to enjoy the game more, it won’t even be explored until S2.

    • Many items and aspects do not impact your build in profound, interesting, meaningful ways. Like most of them are bonus X% damage modifiers which is so pathetic. • On a fundamental level, why are cosmetics like $25+? This is ridiculous.

    • Helltides were nerfed to the point that you cannot earn enough cinders to unlock the biggest reward cache. Allegedly it’s a bug, but there seems to be a LOT of bugs in this game. It seems like they keep editing drop chances and other numerics, only to backpedal and say “oh weird, this is bugged out.” Even when I had a full inventory of Ancient Legendaries from Helltides, only ~1-3 of them would be useful, and maybe only 1 of them was a direct upgrade to my build. If that’s “too easy” and “too many rewards,” then Blizzard straight-up DOES NOT want you to obtain any valuable loot or maintain any semblance of progression. They want you playing a pseudo-game where it feels like you’re always on the cusp of getting somewhere but you never do.

    I could not in good conscience recommend this game to anybody. It is not fun beyond your initial honeymoon phase of novelty & curiosity. Once you understand the game’s main loop, you’ll drop it almost immediately. It’s not rewarding. It doesn’t respect your time. It’s a genuine joke and a mishandled product. I hope they can pull a D3 and salvage this trash heap.    … Expand

My character feels so weak to even play, I purchase this game to have fun after a stressful day. Instead I am presented with a frustrating game where everything makes me more frustrated.     This literally makes me just want to go back to older diablo games rather than play this patch 1.1 makes the game not fun to play for me.
    It didn't hold my attention much but I had more fun playing before the patch and lets say I was bored out of my mind be for the patch this just frustrates me.

    How did you come up with the idea of providing players with such a small inventory and storage??? No wonder the rest is just as good as the storage that isn't there..... Ahh and I'm playing sorcerer at lvl 100. I've farmed all sorts of builds together that might be possible but with the latest patch 1.1 the issue has been resolved. sry, but how can you be so stupid??

    Shame, game had a rocky start but was a super fun experience at the start and it felt like the devs were helping support the community by listening to our woes but was quickly ruined by one update that nerfed everything into the ground, making the game a massive chore. Season 1 looming over and all the hype is dead, hopefully I can change this review in the future, until then.

    My wife and I have been playing dungeon crawlers and ARPGs for 20'ish years; we love to sit together on the couch and do the grind together. We were having a great time with Diablo 4 with my wife's druid tank and my DPS rogue running around the world on Tier 4 doing Helltides, or the Whispering Tree/Grim Favors events and dungeons, or trying to push higher and higher tier NightmareMy wife and I have been playing dungeon crawlers and ARPGs for 20'ish years; we love to sit together on the couch and do the grind together.     We *WERE* having a blast, but understood that with the release of the Season 1 patch some of our more OP elements were going to get nerfed. No biggie, we've been doing gaming for a while, we figured we'd adjust and continue playing as we were both excited for the Season 1.

    After the patch installed we sat down to see what we were facing. We played, or rather I should say attempted to play, for a couple of hours. After that point we were both so frustrated that we decided to not play anymore until Blizzard pulls their head out of their butts and fixes this situation. A second order effect of this is that we have irl friends who play also, and they came to the same conclusion: Blizzard has no idea what their player base wants or enjoys.

Players were expecting developments and user friendly features, instead we had an harder game with unbalanced and nerfed classes/defences. Oh it's not easy to obtain gear anymore. I will never ever play the season unless they step back from their bs update.

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
