    What a lackluster mediocre attempt at making a game. If I could describe this game in one word it would be generic. The characters are generic. The enemies are generic. The quests and world are generic. The story is literally your generic super hero story. The combat? You guessed it.....generic. So disappointed. Haven't companies learned that the "games as a live service model" is just plain ass?

Я ждал эту игру, я смотрел новости по этой игре, я смотрел стримы ЗБД популярных стримеров. В итоге, вы не оправдали мои ожидания. В игре ужасная оптимизация, куча ненужных спецэффектов, которые могут вызвать припадок. В моей квартире два компьютера: современный и чуть поДобрый день. Мне, как поклоннику Marvel, очень грустно оставлять негативный отзыв. Но другого я сделать не могу. Я ждал эту игру, я смотрел новости по этой игре, я смотрел стримы ЗБД популярных стримеров. В итоге, вы не оправдали мои ожидания. В игре ужасная оптимизация, куча ненужных спецэффектов, которые могут вызвать припадок. В моей квартире два компьютера: современный и чуть по старее. Знаете в чем отличия между ними при игре в данный проект? На современном, при геймплее игра не фризила, но могла просто на ровном месте зависнуть. При этом или она просто вылетала, или вовсе помогала только перезагрузка компьютера. На компьютере по старее - кроме вышесказанного ещё фризил геймлпей, фризили ролики, которые иногда были черно-белые. Поэтому для меня главной проблемой этой игры является - оптимизация. Но могу так же добавить спорную механику вещей. Большая куча мусорных вещей, которая просто дает какую-то призрачную мощь. Ноль влияния на облик, ноль влияния на тип анимации скилов, сетовых эффектов - просто призрачная мощь...серьезно? Боевые пропуски в покупной игре? Интересный ход. Ну допустим вы будете "качественно" поддерживать игру долгие годы и это будет ваша плата, но подождите, вы даже вложенные 2000 руб. за покупку не оправдали. Какие боевые пропуски? Ребята, исправьте оптимизацию, уберите кучу ненужных эффектов (или сделайте так, что бы они не уничтожали ПК) - оправдайте, вложенные 2000 руб. и тогда, можно будет в это играть, тогда можно будет задуматься о боевых пропусках. На данный момент вы выпустили сырой, багованный до чертиков проект, которые требует не один патч. 4/10 с с призрачной надеждой, что вы всё это исправите. Иначе вы заслуживаете просто 0/10, так как нормально в этот проект мне поиграть не удалось.

    P.S.: Ах да, плевок в сторону людей, которые играют на ПК эксклюзивом ТОЛЬКО ДЛЯ SONY - вы только ухудшили к себе отношение.    … Expand

    The superheroes look cool. Everything else is hot trash. Muddy controls, boring gameplay, jump puzzles without end, loading screens when you die, out-of-control camera spins, gear that doesn't change your appearance, uh where is Hawkeye, and so on and so forth. Every kind of busted you will find in this game. If    This is the kind of game that makes you swear to never pre-order again.

    Just a oke, unpolished, average story with oke combat, boring enemy and env design and repetitive gameplay. I never thought anyone can make a loot system this boring and uninteresting, they definitely raised the bar in wrong direction.

    Incredible... in terms of bugs. I am on the anthill mission and a bug appears that does not allow me to advance in the campaign. I have tried to load older files of the game and all the backup copies are from the same day at similar times ... result: I cannot advance in the campaign because of the bug ... incredible how they have been able to launch a video game like that with such aIncredible... in terms of bugs.     Now that I'm 18, why does the game look so bad in graphics? I didn't like the game and it's not optimized, the constant fps jumps. Fights of the same character, well, that's how it surprised me... Played 10h and deleted

    The campaign is a fun and good story that kept me interested in the game. Each hero feels different but also the same. There are a lot of microtransactions for skins but they are optional.

    Some cool bits and pieces in the campaign, but with all the repetetive endgame-stuff is NOT good at all. I didnt have high expectations, but still it doesnt impress me. Microtransactions and exclusive stuff is also stupid as hell.

    Ok so sure this game isn’t the greatest rpg but it’s definitely the best marvel game out there besides Spider-Man. I thought it was going to be extremely difficult to bring so many characters into one game and be able to specialize in each of them but I think they did a great first attempt . I’d pay for that. The micro transactions have no affect on the game but I must say that all cosmetics are ridiculously priced . There’s no way I’d pay that for a skin . If they reduced the price by at least 70% for cosmetics then I would consider it . Overall it was much better than I though it would be . It honestly feels amazing to be an avenger and I was seriously impressed with black widow. Did not expect to enjoy playing with her character would be so satisfying!I would give it about 7 out of 10 but because of all the negative pointless review I had to give it a 10 . I think if they proceed down this path and truly expand the universe in a meaningful way this game could definitely become a masterpiece.     A game with the most boring level design you have ever seen. Generic, not normal world-like, low textures. My fear for the story has also come true: Mary sue character which is the red-line of the story, anti male, childish and just very amateurishly told (typical Disnely lately).. This is not a passion project, this is a short deadline rushed game for the young masses. Stay away.

    A decent story that will keep you invested enough your first time playing, however the gameplay is SO repetitive and dull that you'll struggle to find the desire to play it again more than once. Also expereinced a few bugs on top of that as well.

    Honestly for a AAA game based upon the biggest movie franchise going this is a massive dissapointment. Avoid unless you can get it dirt cheap.

    I see people complaining about the campaign...The campaign is a great experience, with set pieces and memorable moments to put a smile on your face. I see others complain about longevity and grind... I cant remember the last time I even considered opening up Spider-Man again once the story was done. No problem like that here.

    Once the niggling frame rate issues and (uncommon) gameplay bugs are fixed, we have a stellar super hero action extravaganza here, with something for everyone!    … Expand

    Square Enix's take on Avengers is a fun, silly beat 'em up with an interesting story. While the story's length is shorter than most (around 10 - 15 hours), it is a story that is going to evolve overtime with monthly updates starting with Kate Bishop / Hawkeye in October and November.

    I'm super interested to see how this will all play out in the long run.

    This game had problems with the story mode. Mainly some cutscenes flat out froze for me. Others became so glitchy that I thought it was going to freeze again. Also the combat was pretty good in my opinion but it looked blurry sometimes. This part, I'm not sure if this was the game or not but I was playing online with 2 people as Thor and then it went staticy and my PS4 shut off. I searchedThis game had problems with the story mode.     I've only played the campaign so far but I am pleasantly surprised at how good it is. The story, graphics (I'm playing on PC with a 2080 ti) are great! I'm only a couple hours into it but so far, so good!

    Awful UI , inconsistent mechanics , horrendous explanation of abilities and customization. Laughable bugs after a 6 month delay. Constantly having to restart encounters due to bugs. The only saving grace is the graphics. This game is a joke and a rip off

    This isn't even a game, it's a glorified casino. If you want to get the entire game, DLC, mictrotransactions, pre-order bonuses, etc. You'll be looking at well over 1000 dollars. Save your money for a real game that's not so greedy.

    Having problem with loading into the campaign, stuck in loading screen, I've tried restarting the game and my router, ive even uninstall and reinstall the game still the same problem ...do or did anyone experienced this?

    Repetitive and boring. Fight robots for hours and grind for nothing. Insanely expensive add-on content. Trash developers capitalizing on the brand. Extremely disappointed by this game

    Avengers is not perfect, but its not utter trash like many are saying. The combat gets WAY better come endgame when you unlock more skills giving you more options in combat. Sure there have been bugs here and there but its nothing really game breaking and cant be simply patched.     I liked almost everything, what i didn’t like was: if you play with a character more then you play with others the only one who will get better stuff is the one you play with, i’ve seen lots of bugs (like hats walking on the ground alone) and graphics are good but sometime they get a bit strange (like characters talking without moving their mouths).

    Most of the skins in this game are just repaints. Hulk doesn't feel like the Hulk when playing as him. The combat in this game doesn't feel like it was a primary focus when creating this project. The lines and gameplay can get pretty repetitive and sometimes annoying. Not a great,good or bad game,just OK...

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. FYI I was playing on a PS4 PRO with a 4K TV. I also have an upgraded Firecuda SSHD.

    If you were a fan of Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Marvel Heroes, this game is fantastic. I think the best way to describe this one, is Marvel Ultimate Alliance meets Destiny. You get much more character customization/depth similar to MUA, but you also get a new 3D world rather than a top down ARPG. Could it be more expansive? Sure.... But lets face it, we're on extremely outdated tech at this point, and this game pushes that hardware to its limits. In its current state, this game should get a 7 but with all the flat out hate for nonsensical reasons, I'm going to boost my score to 8.

    And all you 0 point reviewers out their... These guys put some serious heart and soul into this game and your dumping all over it. Sure it has its rough edges, but a 0? Keep acting like children, and there wont be devs to make "your" games anymore.

    CONS

    Lets first start by separating fixable problems that are only a temporary issue VS the actual game itself. This way in a month when most of the issues are fixed, people can those aspects into consideration.

    Fixable issues that NEED to be fixed:
    -Matchmaking is BAD
    -Super clunky graphics for movement/moving objects at times
    -We've also had some game crashes and frozen screens, as well as menus being stuck etc
    -More characters!!!!!

    Things that wont be fixed/changed
    -Micro transactions - Yes, there are cosmetic micro transactions but you CAN earn the currency in game, albeit slow. I personally could care less as long as its not P2W, and its NOT in this game.
    -Its not much of a single player experience. The story is actually pretty good, surprised people are complaining about it, although it seems most just disagree with the main character choice (This bothers me, because its preference. I like Ms. Marvel quite a bit, so I liked it a lot). But in the end, this game was made for a co op experience. (But this inst anything new if your a Marvel Ultimate Alliance fan)
    -Load times are pretty terrible. Like really terrible.

    PROS

    Honestly I think overall this game is really good, and its going to be an easy 8 or 9 after they fix the bugs IN MY OPINION AS A CO OP GAMER.
    -Although they can have artifacts at times, the graphics are actually very good on my PS4 PRO on a 4k HDR TV.
    -The game actually runs pretty well for being 4k on the outdated PS4. There were some FPS dips for sure though.
    -With the artifacts from movement, its apparent they focused on precise and responsive controls over graphical performance. I don't see that as a bad thing though, as this is nearly a fighting game and you rely on responses to enemy attacks. These will also likely be optimized over time, and go away.
    For the people who enjoy character customization (as in gear, skill trees etc) you'll be happy to know that each character gets extensive skill trees and gear options (with really cool modifiers we're used to).
    -Characters feel completely different from one another, even their basic attacks, So much so, im actually extremely impressed.    … Expand

    The game is fairly fun but gets repetitive quite quickly. The game is riddled with bugs that make the gameplay experience bad. I've seen a bug where the starting mission doesn't show up which pretty much is a soft lock situation. I've seen bugs in the HARM room where the AI doesn't attack you at all. The game is riddled with bugs that make the gameplay experience bad. I've seen a bug where the starting mission doesn't show up which pretty much is a soft lock situation. I've seen bugs in the HARM room where the AI doesn't attack you at all. The campaign story is fairly mediocre. All of the Avengers have somewhat of a different gameplay style but what's missing is that some of the Avengers don't have a move that breaks walls. This means that if you are playing solo, you miss out on any loot/secrets that require wall breaking since your AI companions won't break the wall for you. Another sad thing is they only really put 4 villains in the game as fights, but only 3 of them are actually unique. There's 2 other bosses but those are generic and annoying to fight.

    Overall, the game is average and still really needs bug fixing. It's one of those games that shouldn't have been released yet because it feels so unpolished. There's some really good ideas here but not enough variety post game.    … Expand

I'm rarely, over my 20+ years of gaming, having ever run into bugs, and that includes games from Bethesda. I, in fact, openly admit I would be a horrible game tester because of how often I seem to have no problems while others run into a surplus. This game, however, is polluted with bugs, I truly wonder who (if anyone) was hired to do any sort of alpha, beta or bug testing before this games' release. Audio bugs, cosmetic bugs, combat bugs, the game crashing at random moments. You name it, the game'll have a bug affecting how enjoyable that aspect is.

    The combat, for all its positives have an equal amount of negatives; It's *too* chaotic and at the best of times, simply unfair, and that's not even including how awful your AI partners are. When you've got 2 of them off in a completely different zone running around in circles (literally) and one of them just staring off into space, meanwhile you have to fend off 20 machines that all spawn at once, some of them being gigantic damage-sponges, even without the 10000-damage shields some of them come equipped with, needless to say, you're pretty screwed and you're going to have to die to reset the AI so they do what they're supposed to. That's the tip of the iceberg with the combat. Never mind the off-screen turrets of which there is a surplus is every level, flying enemies with ranged weapons with bullets all traveling at varying speeds, so the attack indicators on them do you absolutely no good. Then you have enemies with incredibly broken mechanics, featuring god-levels of tracking on their attacks, stun locks that last a good 2 seconds, then they proceed to 2-shot or 1-shot your character, even playing as the Hulk. Again...not even the tip of the iceberg with combat....

    The story thus far, granted I haven't finished it, has many parts where it simply feels very disjointed. Events happen that you are not privy to and you're just left wondering, "how exactly did that character accomplish this?" The world may never know because the devs designed a contrived, cheesy, cliché, and half-assed story that, amid all the time they had, and still feels like it's missing a lot of parts and context.

    It needs so much work still that again, I'm brought back to my original point and question of why it was released in its current state. Maybe down the line, after the team has had a LOT of time to work out these bugs, fine-tune the experience, add more characters, maybe fix the story by adding in some necessary cut-scenes? Truly, I don't envy the team with how much more work needs to go into the game - I just regret buying it on release.    … Expand

The few stats mean that you have no opportunity for builds, no varied strategies, and linear level design mean you are just brute forcing your way through the entire game. The gear system is just to create busy work in levels, to find chests. If they removed it entirely and you just got stronger as you levelled it would be just as effective but remove tedious menuing. They constantly bug you to upgrade and drops are very common, meaning an alarmingly large amount of the game is spent in menus.

    The robots you fight are at exactly the wrong level. Too tough to get any cathartic sense of fighting through waves of fodder (you know, how it should feel to play the Hulk), too weak and lacking enough variety to be tactically interesting. You fight the same robots in the same environments, mission after mission, any pleasure quickly fades. The one highlight is fighting bosses, but these are few and far between.

    There is a half decent sorry here, Kamala khan is a likeable enough audience POV character, and you can get engaged in the story, simple though it is. But it is not enough to make up for the pain of playing it.

    Everything that is wrong with this game is a failure of game design. They allowed commercial pressures to come before a fun experience and it shows that no one cares about the end product. This is not a good idea executed badly; I can forgive that, often there is still something to be proud of. This was a set of unoriginal ideas executed to the bare minimum to meet a need for a revenue generator. I doubt anyone involved in this is proud of it.    … Expand

    It's an ok outing featuring some of Marvel's most beloved characters. Enjoyed what was there, but throughout my time with the game, it felt like it could have been so much more at launch. I will say, however, that the characters are unique enough to differentiate from one another but despite this, combat and missions eventually feel repetitive.

They clearly can't handle telling epic stories for all six heroes.     Overall it's not a good game. It look good but it doesn't feel good. It becomes repetitive way to fast and text I understand most games are repetitive but this one just feels completely different.

Remember that amazing comic scene where Iron Man and Thor defended a circle for 40 seconds, yeah me neither. The game is very much at odds with it's source material and the game struggles to really set an engaging pace. The flight controls are a mess, the melee combat lacks impact, and the objectives are boring. The story is kind of interesting but you have to wade through a poor game to experience it. A game corrupted by greed and turned into a live service has, once again, failed. I forgot I had pre ordered the game when it was first announced and forgot to cancel it. I was disappointed when I first saw it on my library. This game failed to do the one thing that it was supposed to do and that is to entertain.     Kamala finds herself able to stretch her body and upon learning that things on A Day were not as the world has been set to believe sets off with AIM hot on her heels to unlock the clues and save the Avengers.

    Along the way players will play as several of the iconic characters and will encounter group missions where players may be matched online or assigned A.I. companions.

    Each characters has their own unique skills and timed special abilities which recharge after use and can be a game-changer as enemies become more numerous and difficult.

    Each character also has their own combat moves and abilities ranging from ranged attacks to close quarters combat. While The Hulk can throw objects; he is better suited to get in close and mix things up. Iron Man while capable of delivering punches is better used flying and hovering and blasting everything he encounters.

    Part of the joy of the game aside from the engaging story is learning new ways to defeat enemies including some team based body slams and other enjoyable moves.

    Players are based on a Helicarrier and there are plenty of things to explore and naturally numerous cosmetics, upgrades, and such which players can obtain via looting or at many of the vendors they encounter.

    Missions are assigned via a War Table and players have the option to select campaign specific missions or to mix in some side missions as well. Upon completion of the main game; players will have the opportunity to play more side and extra missions and can use a Quick Match open to play with other players as well.

    There were a few glitches along the way on my PC build but while a bit annoying a first they became less frequent as the game went along. Some people may have issues with the look of the characters as Tony Stark for example looked to me more like a young Ben Affleck than Robert Downey Jr. but with so many interpretations of the characters over the years this is a minor issue as I was enveloped by the gameplay quickly.

    Missions are enjoyable and the timed jump sequences are not unreasonable and players looking for a challenge will be able to adjust the game difficulty to a setting that best suits their style of play.

    I first played the game at an invite only meeting during PAX West 2019 and after getting some gameplay time; the developers outlined to us some of the long-term plans for the game from new characters and cosmetics and so on. The game sets up further adventures well and I found myself enjoying the game and characters from starts to finish. The game does a great job establishing Kamala and building her character while giving players plenty of time as the classic Avengers and has more than a few nice surprises along the way.

    Im only playing campaign mode now at 30 hrs of play. At first I didn't like it but after 10 hrs of gameplay it gets better slowly but surely. Good graphics(environments are gorgeous) and voice acting is awsome, and the music is awesome, gameplay is ok not great. I really enjoy playing as Hulk & black widow.

    I played the Beta and was scared about what would be the game in the end. Now I am pleased to discover that it is so cool! I really don't understand the bad rankings. It is a service game. It will be better and better. We just have to be patient! I spend great times playing it and that is what motivates my good note.     $60,00 for a game with this much grinding and micro transactions?? It has good, although short story and nice gameplay. But that's it... Nothing else to show... Really repetitive and dull. I truly hope it gets better with the "free updates", but right now it's not worth the money and time

    The story, although a set up for the mp, is great and worth the price in it self. The game certainly has its flaws but has all the makings to be a great GaaS game. It has heart and very few things in gaming are as fun as assembling as the avengers with friends. If you are a fan of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games this game will be mind blowing to you.

    The visuals and story so far is good. Although, the gear mechanic feels hollow. The skins are also widly expensive and it's hard to get credits without paying for them. For a $60 price point I wouldn't expect such expensive microtransactions... but there they are.

    This isn’t a review inasmuch as a thanks to the numerous people who own the game have rated it and made me make my decision in whether or not purchase. I won’t be buying it. I love the MCU, I love the movies, but simply put this isn’t good enough. Too many negatives and I won’t be investing so it’s a no from me. The fact the a lot of the main critic reviews aren’t out either.

The story is good, the characters loveable , the combat deep if you truly want it to be , the action is a fun time , the voice acting is top notch , and everything else " multiplayer " is a extra bonus . Not to mention their monatisation model is actually pleasently fair " everything is gribdable " .

I'm also worried of the longevity of its endgame is asides from levelling up your characters and managing to get the cosmetics you're after. I'm already at lvl 50 for Black Widow and she's feeling pretty stacked as is, so once I level up the others then what? Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal have A LOT of work ahead of them to keep its endgame fresh, let alone running properly on current console. On par with some of the stuff you get in the MCU. The reason it is short is because it is acting as a prologue for the rest of the game, which is multiplayer (can be played solo but isn’t recommended). Multiplayers consist of around 70-80 missions that are all very similar but remain fresh due to the changing enemy variety, mission modifiers and of course whatever character you’re playing as (which feels very different as you actually get better at the game). The skill level of this game is simply put, easy to learn, hard to master. I found myself getting destroyed by enemies early on as Captain America, which then turned into competence, which then turned into mastery. I saw that I was plowing through enemies at the hardest difficulty (which is recommended for the whole experience). Gear level is a worthy addition to a super hero game. Disappointingly the gear does not change anything cosmetically and is hardly noticeable early on in the game. But as you play more, you will find that gear has some really fun game changing features. Artifacts for example even have added in ultimates that are different depending on the item. In all honesty I would give this game a 9/10 but am giving it a 10 as an attempt to counteract the terrible review bombings this game has suffered. For what the devs want this game to be they did an absolutely solid job. I’ve seen far too many reviews where people give this game a 0 because it’s not the game they want, which is outrageous and unfair. Characters are nice, voice actors are out of this world and focusing the story around Kamala Khan instead of the OG team was the best thing they could do. Boss fights in the Villain Sector are also a bit weird. As of right now there are only two bosses (in multiplayer) and these boss fights are just 15 minute punching until they fall. I'm not talking about the campaign, boss fights in the campaign are a lot better. There are also some glitches that need fixing, I for example encountered two instances of being punched out of the world. But if they keep their promise and keep updatjng and stuffing the game with new heroes and new content, this game has the potential to be an Avengers game the franchise so badly deserves.… Expand

    One of the worst games I’ve ever played. Areas drop to like 3 fps, motion blur is sickening, enemies and enemy varsity’s or boring, almost no bosses and has the worst kind of mobile like monetization.. it’s a full priced game too. Has $20 skins. No thanks

Hear me out, yes you do your basic light to heavy finishers, but once you start unlocking more perks combat goes to a new level. You’ll start mixing in stuns and long range and it just starts to flow like Spider-Man PS4. I like the loot. Simply because you can really make some awesome builds. Really make them your own.     It goes deep into the micro transactions. There are a lot and they are greedy.
    The loot. Yes I’m contradicting myself. I hate that the loot is only for stats. The best thing about any RPG is getting new gear and seeing how it looks and that’s not here. This is because they want to sell you skins and everything they can. Lastly it’s like Destiny. It’s a loot grind. The missions you’ll be playing over and over again. In conclusion, I do enjoy this game. The combat is a lot fun. The build possibilities are great. But I hate the micro transactions. I also hate that you can only level up the battle pass by completing quest. So you’re forced to play ass all the hero’s daily in order level up that battle pass. It really sucks.

    It could’ve been a great single player title. The publisher chose to go down the game as a service path though, and those who prefer to play solo need to tackle run-of-the-mill co-op missions. The multiplayer on the other hand is messy, chaotic and in the long run boring. When the developers manage to fix the most pressing bugs and find a way to bring more variety to co-op, this might become a solid game. Right now, I can only recommend it to the biggest fans of the Avengers. [11/2020, p.26]

    This is the perfect example of "Games as a Service" done right. Marvel's Avengers offers up a superb campaign story to play through that is promised to be expanded on in the future. The gameplay may be repetitive, but it includes just enough to keep players interested and invested in the endgame content that is available now to keep this game going until the next step in its roadmap. The possibilities and potential in the future here are hugely exciting.

    There have been plenty of moments during my time with Marvel's Avengers where I’ve genuinely had a great time. But this game keeps finding ways to drag itself down- at times it almost feels like it goes out of its way to do so. There’s just so much here that I can’t overlook, no matter how hard I may try. An unnecessary and broken loot system, a litany of horrible technical issues, uninspired and one-note mission design, and a story that fails just as much as it succeeds- it doesn’t matter how mindlessly fun the combat is, it isn't enough to overcome such a heavy list of problems.
