Remember when Bethesda posted this? Their next game after that is this buggy, unbalanced, unpolished, ugly, multiplayer game.

FU Bethesda. Sell Fallout franchise to another company and stop digging the grave even deeper. This is first game in Fallout world i never buy. We don't need fallout online. We need interesting story, many good quests, tons of exploring places.

a lot of bugs. the plot is very weak (and it was a feature of the series!!!), plus it destroys the whole history of the world
also very little choice in the passage, in fact you can not play an evil character or good

but now -actually - the game is meaningless and boring...

    P.S.

Fallout 76 is awesome game. Yes its not like any fallout before but still its fun and I enjoy it. And people who want play fallout 5 and ignore that this game is not fallout 5 simply should wait or ask Bethesda for it instead of flame game which is really good but not what they expect.

Yes its buggy as any other previous fallout. And I really don't think that this is problem because

Yes its buggy as any other previous fallout. And I really don't think that this is problem because bugs will be fixed. And Bethesda obviously work on it hardly. And I prefer game which get better and better over time instead of average game without support which die buggy.

What is problem according to me is toxicity of people. How much of those people reporting that its garbage are even 15 years old ? how many of them at least own the game ? Who is just spreading opinions of their favorit youtubers ? and not even play the game :) Who report bug so it could be fixed instead of flaming ? None of those who put here 0.

I don't care I love fallout game. and I enjoy this one though I really cannot tell how this game will grove in future for endgame content and how much it will be fixed. But I really hope it will.

There was a time when Bethesda's name carried the same weight as Rockstar and Naughty Dog. As a bethesda fan I gave this game despite the bad comments a chance and played it at least 10 hours alone and further 20 hours with friends to make my own opinion. And i'm totally disappointed by bethesda, it was a waste of time to play Fallout 76. Never thought that I would say that about a Fallout game.

I liked Fallout 4 a lot and i love Fallout 76. Fun to play and for the first time share that fun with friends. Are there bugs? Shure, still many bugs and glitches but this can and will be fixed. There is a lot of potentiel for the future and i dont get people allready whining about missing Endcontent.

They haven't given 2 **** about updating their A.I. since Oblivion, and I pray to God if he is still somehow alive that they never release another title with this horrible system.

Like seriously, the A.I. in offline mode Recruit difficulty has more competence than these A.I.

They are milking this franchise till it dies, and I will be surprised if they don't just quit.

Finally, for some reason, I fear to touch this game now.

The Fallout New Vegas Multiplayer guy made a more effective mod that people would have probably actually payed money for, not whatever this is.

And for those of you who are like...

"If yOu DoNt lIkE ThE GaMe jUsT ReFuNd iT"

I wish I could, but similar to escape from tarkov, I was only told the implications of what I was buying once I bought the game, and wasn't told how hard of a dicking I was recieving for pre ordering the game.

Battlefield 2 looks like a passion project compared to what I was given with this.

I will say **** You' for all of the people who had faith and didn't buy Red Dead Redemption 2 because they wanted to play the new Fallout.

And also **** you for putting an RPG element into a first person multiplayer PvP shooter you absolute degenerates.

Honestly, it feels almost like a regression from Fallout 4. They scrapped several mechanics throughout and there just wasn't anything to replace them with. The fact that there is just nobody around in the game NPC wise makes it feel incredibly lonely.

For me my experience with the game has been phenomenal. I was incredibly skeptical at first but then I played the Beta with my friends and it won me over. I will say this right out of the gate, it's NOT a typical Fallout game and it's designed for a very particular group of fans that have been asking for this, albeit it does not fit exactly what we asked for but does a good job getting close. The rest of this review will be pertaining to my own personal experience with the game, not what others have dealt with.

While the world does feel lifeless that doesn't really take away from the overall experience. Sure I miss the personalities of the NPC's but even with all of them gone I still get the Fallout vibe from traveling around the map. The quest system is unique and they REALLY put a lot of work into building up the lore around most of them. The main issue is that it's not spoon fed to you and you have to look around for a note or a holotape to get the full story. I personally love this approach and I'm not being distracted by some random NPC bugging out because it's a Bethesda game either, so that's another plus.

The gameplay is by far the most fun out of all the previous releases. Combat is solid and now that they've patched out the framerate lock on PC it's even better. The game isn't very difficult, especially if you're with a group. Being in a group offers many perks too. From perk card sharing, bonus xp, and whatever else you and your friends can make up along the way. I can't count how many hours I spent trying to get to a specific objective only for my friend to discover something else and we go and check it out and then we find something else and check that out and so on only for us to have ended up going in the complete opposite direction of the objective and being lost in the world.

Solo is probably the biggest downside to the game but then again it was NEVER marketed to be a singleplayer game. If you went in thinking you'd get the maximum amount of enjoyment out of this by yourself then you're a fool because it was clearly designed to be played with a group. That's not to say you can't play it alone, you certainly can but I think it kind of negates the true purpose of the game and therefore you can't really complain that it wasn't tailored to you, since they never intended it to be.

I see a lot of people complaining about bugs, I've seen videos about bugs too, I personally have only experienced one bug and that was the game crashing while loading into a world. That was easily solved by lowering my graphics settings. Other than that I have yet to experience anything else that would warrant complaining about. The worst would be an enemy stuck in t-pose as it loads in but then as I got closer it would correct itself.

My biggest complaints are that the stash size is too small and they do a poor job explaining a lot of the basic things that you will be doing constantly, like perk cards and blueprints for you camp. The stash size is going to be increased in a later patch and I understand how the perk cards work. The blueprint thing I still don't get all too much but I found a good spot to leave my camp anyway so I don't intend on moving it. The camp system is a bit janky at times too but that's more my own personal tastes as opposed to being a fault of the game. It's not the games fault that I want to build a house boat out in the middle of a lake and I can't because the foundations don't reach the bottom. That's mine for wanting to put it in a place it clearly can not go.

All in all the game has been incredibly fun so far. When I'm playing by myself I'm usually exploring new areas, capturing a workshop, collecting materials for crafting or all three in preparation for when I play with my friends. I enjoy it by myself because it's nice to pop on the classical radio while I rummage through a blown out factory or take down a mob of ghouls in the woods, occasionally running into another player where I offer them some purified water and rad-away (since I easily have over 100 of each after 2-3 hours). Then when my friends are on we get working on those quests or at least try to, not really, one of us ends up getting side tracked and then we all end up getting side tracked. Plus you can't really beat the sense of accomplishment from successfully defending your workshop from a level 50 Scorchbeast or taking down a level 95 Scorchbeast Queen with 20 other players after someone drops a nuke.

In closing it's a fun game if you want it to be and if you didn't let your expectations cloud what it really, which all it is is a multiplayer open world survival game with the Fallout flair tacked on to it. It's clearly not meant for everyone, judging by the overwhelmingly negative reviews but for those of you who may be interested in it, I recommend seeing if a friend will let you try it out first or if possible then rent it.

Frame rate issues and bugs. Obviously these so called gamers haven't played a game by Bethesda before. FO3, FO:NV, ES:Oblivion and Skyrim had these issues and still maintained an average of 8 out of 10. So you sort of knew what you're gonna get.

So my advice, if you are into an immersive single player experience I will wait for a price drop or stick to GoW and RDR 2. If you can find 4 buddies to play with then grab this game, you will have a blast. I found some of the glitches and bugs to be pretty funny and there's the not funny game crashes broken quest type. But I'm pretty sure they will iron out these issues in the near future. Just remember that this is the first MMO for Fallout and there will be issues. If you want to be safe, you can wait for the ultimate edition next year.

But FFS lay off the review bombing and keep it real fellow gamers. I'm out. Peace!

Instead of an online Fallout game, you get a total trainwreck of a game. A trainwreck that is not even interesting to stare at. Broken physics, broken balance, broken world, lifeless and devoid of any meaningful content. And it all runs on grandmas old engine that already looked outdated and odd when Fallout 3 came out. My score is intended as an 8.5, but I rounded up rather than down. People are giving this game extreme negative reviews without justification; this game is not a cash grab. The world is huge, new and beautiful, and full of things to do. I find it gets more and more addictive each time I play. Tonight I had to pull myself away from it simply because I have other things I've got to do. But if I could make Saturday afternoon last forever, I could play this thing nonstop.

THIS GAME IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WOULD ENJOY a huge, post-nuclear yet strangely beautiful, colorful open world game, and who want to meander around the landscape, explore, engage in combat with creatures, craft, and climb the stats ladder, without much of a story (more than the request to go here or there to fight creatures or collect water now and then with no time pressure) to tether them to any particular in-game obligations.

THIS GAME IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO DEMAND a significant story or who only enjoy turn-based VATS combat. The story in this game (at least so far as I've played) is about as significant as the story in MYST. In other words, it just exists in order to prompt you to explore. The VATS combat in this game is real-time and not useful most of the time. Though in my last few fights I have used it to great effect. A bunch of those floating butler-style robots went AWOL and decided to try and kill me. If it wasn't for VATS I would have died. So it can be used, mostly in close combat situations, but not when your target is a fair distance away.

The major flaws of this game are: no NPCs, which has to change and I am sure will change; and 2 in PvP combat you suffer almost no damage. I understand wanting to do away with the threat of being killed every 2 seconds, but PvP combat could do more damage. Why not at least let it do as much damage as a roving mutant rat? There's plenty of them around who attack, so what's the difference?

With those 2 nipicks out of the way, let me say that though I am a big retro point-and-click adventure fan (Tex Murphy; Broken Sword), I find this game extraordinary addictive, way more than any past Fallout game and way more than Red Dead Redemption 2. It's beautiful and plays very smoothly. Some complain about the guns, but this is an RPG. The guns fire in a way commensurate with your various skills and the specs of the weapon. You can't just rapid fire a weapon when your associated skills are low. Fallout 76 differs from past Fallout games in that, so far, the plot is thin. Mostly it exists as an excuse to get you to meander through the landscape, which is more beautiful than any other Fallout game, and more beautiful than Red Dead 2 (which I compare simply because it is the other game I am playing at the moment; although Red Dead 2 has the best animals and most amazing horses and horse animations I have ever seen), forage, defend yourself from random mutant creatures, craft, occasionally team up with other players, and explore. But that just happens to be exactly what I was looking for.

I love story-intense games, but I also love this type of game where I am encouraged to explore. Story intense games make me so concerned about following the plot, I don't end up exploring much, and Red Dead Redemption 2 will even end your mission and put you back to a checkpoint if you stray to far from a mission area. Fallout 76 does not do this. I'll play an earlier Fallout game or Red Dead Redemption 2 for my plot and story fix and Fallout 76 for when I just want to explore unfettered, not tied down by any sense of obligation to visit a particular store, talk to a particular NPC, or hunt down a particular outlaw, to move a plot forward. FYI there are no NPCs in Fallout 76, unless you can call attacking zombies and mutant dogs NPCs. All quests are given through holo-tapes, notes, etc. I do not think that was a good decision, and it is the only reason I gave this incredibly addictive game an 8.5 (I rounded up), rather than a 10. I suspect Bethesda will catch wise and add downloadable content for free with NPCs and better quests. But even as is, Fallout 76 for me has been like eating a giant bottomless can of Pringles - after each creature I kill or each area I discover I want just one more, and end up creeping into bed at 2AM next to my wife hoping not to wake her up (so I can claim the next morning that I made it to bed by midnight).

I've enjoyed multiple Fallout games in the past. Fallout 76 scratches the post-apocalyptic survival itch for me. i was excited about the game from the moment they announced it, because retro-futuristic apocalyptic storytelling is my favorite genre.

i was worried about initial reviews. The general consensus seems to be that Bethesda may have tied a noose around my favorite series, but Fallout 76 is absolutely worth your time. The story alone is worth your time. The parallels they tie between current political issues and the historic issues in the Fallout universe are bone chilling. Don't rush through it; immerse yourself in the story. Every note between family, every political flier, and every protest sign is a stroke of paint creating a portrait of a land dragged down by corporate greed. The restless masses were so close to the point of boiling over that even years later their anger is evident. War would have come to Appalachia even if the bombs never fell.

    Beta/Servers
i skipped the beta, because i wanted to start on release day. Luckily, i missed the initial server issues due to waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I've only been disconnected 3 times in my entire playtime (20-30 hours i think). You hook onto servers extremely fast.

    Graphics/Gameplay
I'm playing on PS4. I get lag when i am crafting, but other than that I haven't had any major lag issues. I've had 2 or 3 teleporting enemies (mostly the scorched). Some reviewers say that the scorched are messed up because they act weird, but you learn from the story that they are supposed to act like that. I've been generally lucky with glitches, as I haven't experienced anything game breaking. I have experienced funny little glitches that gave me a good laugh, but nothing irritating.

    Building/Camps
i love building and Fallout 76 has somewhat improved upon Fallout 4's system. Building elements snap easier, but you still have to trick things into place every once in a while. i like having to buy building plans because it makes me appreciate every plan i find and REALLY appreciate a plan i shell out caps for. Unfortunately, don't get too attached to a camp because in all likelihood it will go away. if your camp exists where another player has already built their camp then your camp will get stored upon entering that server. It is currently extremely difficult to place the camp blueprint that you receive when your camp is stored. I've never lost any materials when my camp was stored, so rebuilding wasn't that bad for me.

    Perks
i love the perk system. I am a hoarder, so I took a ton of weight reduction perks. I can carry MOUNTAINS of junk. i then bundle that junk and sell it to vendors everyday for caps so i can buy plans and fast travel. The perk system feels similar enough to the old leveling method so it wasn't too difficult to learn, but it also makes me feel more involved in directing my character's growth.

    Multiplayer
Even griefers really make the universe. I got my butt handed to me by a team of people preying on other players. Honestly, it was the most authentic raider scenario I've ever had in a post-apocalyptic game. NPCs just can't get on the same level of craziness as flesh and blood human beings. You only lose junk on death, so I got the unique experience, but didn't lose a whole lot from it. There are issues here though. if you do kill your attacker the revenge system can make it difficult to get away from them especially if they are on a team (i believe they can fast travel to team members). I think that if they attack you then they shouldn't get the option for revenge. I've also had some endearing interactions with other players. It's nice to walk by and hear another player humming along with the radio. Just like in real life, there are good and bad people out there.

    NPCs
There are NPCs everywhere in the game. I can't for the life of me figure out why people keep saying there are no NPCs. There are no human NPCs, but quirky non-human NPCs are everywhere. The lack of people really makes the pain in the story stick. I don't want to get into why there are no people, because i don't want to spoil the story. But i will say that this story would not be even a fraction as powerful if there were people present.

    Story
Multiple reviews have said that there is a severe lack of story or that the lack of NPCs makes the story weak. Well, the only way that you are lacking a story is if you actively ignore it. I get excited every time I see a piece of paper sitting on a desk because it's another glimpse into a world lost to me.

Overall, I'm scoring Fallout 76 high, because the game can absolutely stand on its own. It isn't perfect. i came at it as a critic of this genre and I am thoroughly enjoying it. i like the story much MUCH more than Fallout 4. it lets you wander at your own pace and really live in the world without being chained to story characters.

Lacks in so many areas. Not enough was done between Beta and Release day. Maybe that will change when private servers are implemented. And perhaps if they had thought to have PVP servers and PVE servers seperate it would have helped too.

This game is a broken waste of money that will never get fixed. They did not even try to create a somewhat decent game. They just just hyped a crappy game to the point that people thought the game would be good. Only die hard fans will even slightly enjoy this mess.

I REALLY wanted to like this game, I loved fallout 4 and played hundreds if not thousands of hours of it. After chewing on this crap sandwich for over three days and building a character to level 20 I had to spit it out and walk away. I just can't lie to myself any longer. This game is terrible! It's not even a game. It honestly reminds me of when I was a child and saved up $30-$40 to buy a new nintendo game only to get stuck with a total bomb that was completely unplayable. Everything bad you have read or heard about this game is true. I spent hours getting settlements set up only to be disconnected when servers crashed and lost everything.

    Quest bugs are everywhere!
Load times are worse than Fallout 4 in survival mode!
    Loot storage caps are unbearable!
    PVP is a total joke!
The game is WAY too easy
Quest from holo tapes is annoying and unrewarding

Everything bad you have heard and more are true. I honestly think all the good reviews are written by staff members and share holders. Don't waste $60 on this game please. I wasted $120 because I bought it on PS4 and Xbox1 because oh yeah, you can't play with friends across platforms either. And another $59.99 to renew my PS4 Online pass, so I'm $180 in the hole for this abomination. If you really think you want to try this game just wait a few more weeks and you can buy !0,000 copies of it used at Gamestop in a few weeks for $2.99 because everyone is going to try to get whatever money they can back before it"s too late to sell it.

If this game had been released as a disk based title with no way to update it online like games used to be made, there would be riots in stores with people demanding their money back! How can a "game studio" release such an epic title in such horrible condition? Yes, we all want the newest version of the games we love but WTF were they thinking they could cram this down our throats and we would just eat it? Don't give me the "this is a beta" or "it's only opening week" BS!!! Bethesda thinks they are going to reboot, repackage, copy and paste another title with a new map and rob their customers and fans of million of dollars!

I'm sure hundreds of people worked their asses off to get this game "ready" for release but SERIOUSLY?!?!?! You knew this game wasn't even close to being ready and you pushed it out anyway. Now they are saying they are getting review bombed. Well guess what? I wouldn't have time to write this review if YOU HADN'T DROPPED THIS FLAMING PILE OF SH!T ON ME!!!! I would be spending countless hours enjoying a game I loved, playing online with my friends like you told us we could. But i'm not, cause when we get a group together, we keep getting dropped cause the servers keep crashing and reloading.

I should really be thanking Bethesda for curing me of this addiction to Fallout. If this game had been half as good as previous versions I would have spent thousands of hours playing online instead of spending time with my wife and kid. But after 20 hours of ignoring them and TRYING to like this game, I just can't do it. I would rather sit with my wife and watch The Bachelor or some other God Awful show on the Oprah network.

The game play, bugs and glitches and graphics issues aside is just horrible. The card system is pretty cool but you get random cards and have no way to "build a character" like you usually do in a fallout game. Imagine leveling up in Fallout 4 and just spinning a wheel to see what perk you get next. Oh WOW i just looted an awesome weapon, too bad I have to be level 30 to equip it. I'll just save it for later but oh wait, my stash is already full cause I can't craft anything useful till I find some plans for a GD weapon that I already looted 400 times and broke down for parts! I guess I'll just go kill another 10,000 scorched that keep re-spawning in my face every ten seconds and hope one of them drops something useful. NOPE just another A-D block, that's f-ing useful if Shawn was still a kid not a senior citizen. Building your own camp is kinda cool, till the server resets and you lose everything you built and have to start over. Taking a settlement for resources is great, till you logout and lose your progress. Or you invest tons of resources into it and some massive mob attacks it while your trying to complete a timed quest and destroys everything and you can't rebuild cause I'm out of junk!

This game should have never been released in this condition. It can't be fixed with patches that are bigger than the original version of the game. It is flawed from the ground up and needed years more of work to make it playable. Bethesda has lost all credibility and I will never give them another dime. How they thought they could fool hardcore gamers is beyond me.

    PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

I would tell you more but that's my 5000 words

This game is a cancerous, buggy mess. Physics are all client side and tethered to framerate. I learned early on, that if I look at the ground, I run significantly faster than my allies because I'm at a much higher framerate. We got caught and stuck in terrain several times. We were killed by invisible enemies. There is nothing redeeming in this crapshoot. I wish I could get my money back.

People giving the game a zero are like the guy in the video having a tantrum because he only go stop credit for returning the game.

The moral of the story is to read the content of the reviews rather than looking at the score.

I don't write many reviews but when I saw Fallout 76 was getting inundated with 0's and 1's I had to set the record straight with an honest review to oppose the punitive Tantrum Reviews. The eagle eyed amoung you might notice that I have given games a zero before but that's only because they were completely unplayable and/or the game description said the game was something that it wasn't.

Personally, I find the game to be amazing. I love the fact that I can play Fallout with friends. I've been dying for that for a very long time. The entire system is very familiar from Fallout 4 so the learning curve is very shallow for people who have played that game. I do miss the human NPC's sometimes but only just.

If you liked Fallout 4 there's just no reason to not love Fallout 76. Did I mention you get to play a Fallout game with friends??????

    The good:

The graphics are amazing with stunning textures.
As usual, the character animations are nearly flawless.
The quests are typical Fallout quests which is good because I like those quests.
It's very stable for only a few days out of release.
The anti-griefing measures seem to be working well.

    Cons:
No human NPCs can be a little disconcerting.
I had a few lost connections on day 1. None since then.

There's simply so much to do, and it plays like a higher quality version of Fallout 4, but with random interactions with real people that often make for hilarious events. The quests are pretty fun, some more than others. I think the daily missions are a great way to break away from exploration or questing if you want immediate, intense gun fighting and action. I only see these expanding and increasing as Bethesda updates the game.

The questing is pretty standard, and comparing it to something like Destiny 2, the Fallout narratives are much more enthralling, and the Overseer in this game is a compelling and likable character. The balance of her decisions feels authentic, and I feel the writers did a great job on the main story line in particular. The side quests and random daily events are a lot of fun, and there's probably about ~40 of them so i haven't repeated any, except for a few really challenging and fun ones (Defecding the BoS fort from Scorch Beasts). Overall, the removal of human NPC's has had somewhat a positive effect as I hated the chat functions of fallout 4. In 76, the narrative progresses as you play over holotapes, and I think this makes for more of an action oriented game, with less breaks from playing to sit and talk to sometimes boring characters. The robots are also somewhat funny, especially the police bots in Watoga.

The combat is a mix of low level trash mobs that are pretty easy to clear, to more mid level mobs that can quickly swarm you, to the scorch beasts, which are a challenge. I think there can be some AI improvements on the scorched and super mutants to make them more of a challenge, as they seem pretty easy, whereas scorch beasts are extremely hard especially in groups. If more than 1 scorch beast attacks you, be prepared to pop 10+ stims and run away just to survive. I'd like to see some middle tier enemies between scorch/mutants and scorch beasts.

The new VATS system is perfect for a real-time multiplayer game. I cant think of any other way they could have done it, and for really fast moving, small enemies, it takes the hassle out of playing.

I really have enjoyed the interactions with other players. Multiplayer has mostly been co-op, but there is a PvP radio station that when you tune in, makes it more full-on PvP without the "first to fire" system.

There are small issues here and there, such a visual bugs, etc, but this is such a massive game with so much going on, I have been shocked by how high quality every inch of this game is, from the physics to the textures, etc. Nothing game breaking at all.

The multiplayer is a great addition to what is an awesome stand-alone Fallout game. Being able to jump into activities with friends when they're on is great. Being able to play on your own or with randoms when your friends are not online is also great.

The crafting and unlock system really gives the player a feeling of progression, having to scrap many different similar weapons to really build a full crafting recipe library.
The weapon choices are great, and I am loving the lever-action rifles!

Overall, this is just about everything I want in a MP Fallout game, and I'm excited to see what new features and content they add. I would like a match-based PvP system, I think that would be cool.

Fallout 4 was an average game in my opinion as didn't live up to the hype of classics like it's predecessors Fallout 3 & New Vegas. This lazy offering is an insult to the gaming community - bland world, glitches/bugs galore (which we didn't mind in 2008-2010 as F3 & NV were so fun but it's been a decade!!!) all in all a complete cash grab!

I found it fun and frustrating trying to learn the way this game handles item weight, storage space and food and water consumption. Not till I reached lvl 20 did I finally figure out how to balance it so you're not stuck. Does this game deserve a high score? No, but i don't think it deserves to be review bombed by upset Fallout fanboys who didn't get the Fallout 5 with bits of multiplayer they were hoping for.

Even without the bugs this game would be bad. It removes the most important elements of previous Fallout games (story, choice, interesting characters) and replaces them with the worst elements (not very good FPS combat). This project should never have gone beyond the design phase because the design of the game is fundamentally flawed and a terrible idea.

This game doesn't have a tour guide and I feel Bethesda might've been received better if there was hand holding. What it does is, gives you general quest guides to let you find and figure it out on your own. All the thing you find to do, you'll find through exploration and discovering it yourself. Even hidden mechanics to discover.

There is a ton of things to do. Its just a matter of exploring and discovering the world.

The complaint about the lack of NPC's.. I get it, i agree it is missing some of that NPC color in lieu of having any other human being the colorful real life people you interact with. So far this hasn't been much of a negative. I do miss the NPC color, even Preston Garvey, but the genuinely decent community of people I've encounter have made up for it.

Overall, this game is phenomenal, but its not a guided tour. They're plopping you down in an arcade, you just have to go out and find what you want play and have fun with it.

Let's Directly start with the most horrendous aspect of this game. Let me directly state that a company of the size of Bethesda have no excuses delivering us a game of this quality. In my approx. 20 houres of playtime with fallout 76 i encountered numerous crashes, glitches, freezes, FPS drops, pop ins etc.. Out of previous games of Bethesda we know we can expect a certain amount of bugs and glitches, but fallout 76 gives me the overall feeling the game was not ready for a full release.

Comparing to new release this year, the graphics also feel a bit outdated, although i could put this in context if the earlier mentioned problems wouldn't be present. I truly hope for this aspect of the game Bethesda do tremendous efforts to fix it. Weirdly this game has a potential to become a gem, but at this time from a technical point of view it is a raw uncut gem.

    Story:

Many people state that fallout 76 consists of an ill, bad story. Comparing to previous entries in the series you could say the serie misses out one of its bigges strenghts of the series... The dialogue. Althought after delving deeper in the underlaying story of Fallout 76, it truly captivates me on what just happended to the local residents who resided in the wasteland after the bombs dropped. The main difference with previous entries is, that in fallout 76 alot of the stories is written down in documents, terminals and holotapes. This way you have to do more effort and actually read stuff to understand the bigger picture of the story.

Game-play: Fallout 76 has the core game-play elements of fallout 4. Exploring the wasteland is still one of it's biggest strenghts. indirectly the absence of NPC's plays a bit of a negative role in this. While you scour trough the wasteland looking for answers, sometimes it feels like you are just killing without any significance to the world around you. the weight limit and stash limit also have indirectly a big influence on your playtime. It truly is frustrating to return you your camp every five minutes to scrap and reduce your weight. Also the use of foods and drinks in the game is unbalanced. It drains to fast and totally takes the pace out of the game. Simple gameplay tweaks concerning food& drinks, weight & stash limits wil increase the fun in-game significantly.

Sound: This may be one of the only aspects of the game i can't critsize about. The sound, going from ambient sounds, dialogue, soundtrack is top notch. I truly enjoy putting on the radio and hear ghostrides in the sky blasting out. In this aspect Bethesda did a tremendous job again.

Conclusion: If you like a game with alot of underlying contect, fallout 76 will be your thing. The world itself is of huge proportions and is a joy for exploring if you dont mind the technical problems the game is having right now. With the right care and fixes this game would be one I advise to my friends to play. But at this very moment I would advise people to wait for patches to start rolling out.

Sidenote: I truly don't understand why bethesta didn't entrust a multiplayer version of fallout to Zenimax. For me Zenimax did a tremendous job with Elder Scrolls Online. Something which Bethesda has failed to do with Fallout 76. The only hope i have is that Bethesda takes the example of Zenimax and have the same devotion to keep rolling out game fixing patches after launch like Zenimax dit with ESO.

For now i give this game a 6/10. A generous score for a game with alot of problems in it's current build.

That's why we have a 2018 game with a 90s graphic engine (yes exactly) which was originally wrote for multiplayer 33.6kb MMO's and 3dfx GPUs, then converted to a singleplayer only engine and is now being forced to work online again with broadband and modern hardware. A train wreck basically. No attention was put into the details, constantly you have to look for Jim, for Frank for Anna... they are all dead! They are all dead because there are no NPCs in this game. So you are forced to go look for a person but you know exactly he will just be a corpse because the whole mechanic doesn't exist. It's so incoherent, the gameplay is miserable, graphics look bad.. Most mechanics like hunger and thirst restrict you too much from actually exploring the world, which is the main point of this game, and other than a lack of things Fallout 76 has dozens of bugs, more than I could count. And now more than ever are we being given shlock (except Red Dead Redemption 2) than ever before. I want games to be innovative, and refreshing, not stale, and poorly outdated. And speaking of outdated, Skyrim 2 will be having the same engine as Fallout 76, which honestly makes me cry to think about, poor lighting, an engine being tied to framerate, and probably even fewer RPG elements. Overall, don't buy this. Expand

If you ever wandered about in 3&4 wishing you could team up with a few chums and have fun in a sandbox environment based on Fallout lore, you need this.
Seriously, who needs NPC's when you have real life friends to come up with insane ideas and new possibilities for adventure. (Murderhobos need not apply.)

The problem with everyone reviewing this game is that they are writing their reviews in the first hour of playing the game. This Game was designed to be a coop mmo/rpg. There are tons of quests, public events that happen frequently, and a ton of unlock able content. I saw complaints that the building and mod menus were very limited. They are only limited because you dont have the content unlocked/ discovered. This game takes time. GIve it a chance like every other fallout game, it just takes time...

Fallout 76 is an unfinished mess of a game. I honestly think a team of modders could have done a better job at making an online Fallout game.

On top of the total lack of passion and care that went into this game is all the technical issues that Bethesda would normally rely on their fans to fix. In this case, though, it all falls on them and it isn't something they, or their more die-hard fans, are used to. We'll see if they can get it together but I wouldn't count on it.

Im glad this game is getting such terrrible reviews. I love Fallout and elder scrolls games but we cant keep rewarding Bethesda for giving us outdated and just plain lazy game design. They even plan on using the same engine for Elder Scrolls 6 and there new space game. If this backlash doesn't wake them up and cause them to actually give us a new game for elder scrolls 6 then Bethesda deserves to crumble.

I mean honestly how do these game concepts get approved by a room full of People? No npcs? Weird PvP that just ruins the game. (have separate PVP and Pve/pvppve servers and people will make their choices like every other game that tries to do this. You cant make everyone happy and when you try you make no one happy. The game is a buggy mess that just isn't ready, there is no content, no end game, and base design sucks. There is nothing going for this game period. Every time a new bethesda comes out I start to lube up because I know Todd Howard is going to **** me.

I didn't think it possible for Bethesda to dumb down this franchise any further. They have proven me wrong.

There is nothing like exploring the wasteland with a buddy doing quests, building our camp and taking down a tough enemies. Over the 15 hours of gametime me and my friend have only discovered a small part of the map, that shows the game does not lack any content. This game does come with a fair share of it's problems, the constant bugs that has soured my experience once. For example my friend died and dropped his resources and then got booted off the server. It was extremely annoying but we got more resources for him in 2 hours of game play. Fallout 76 is the most fun I had with a fallout game, if Bethesda can patch these glitches and make some improvements to the game world like ( putting a marker on the map so other players can see if you're a trader selling goods. Fallout 76 isn't for everyone but if you love Fallout and have a buddy to play with please give this game a chance .

By losing the tension of the Lone Wanderer, this game has lost its heart. My other real complaint -- and this is probably my lack of understanding how online gaming works -- I did not understand that I would have to sign up and pay for a Playstation+ account to play this game for more than two days. Given that all the previous editions were single-player games, I think Bethesda should spell that out. For those of us who long for a game and story as well-told as Fallout New Vegas, let's hope that Bethesda learns from this mistake. It's also up to us to vote with our dollars -- don't buy this if you're on the fence! All that said, I did think the graphics were well done, and I liked the idea of a prequel. I think you could have some amazing NPC characters in that world! Expand

So utterly disappointing and flawed in every possible way… The first few hours, most of it can be ignored, and occasionally the flaws can be forgotten, but only briefly before they come storming back to the forefront. An awful, boring, empty, pointless experience. There is, however, a glimmer of hope. It's worth mentioning that there has already been a Bethesda title that was equally as unimpressive: The Elder Scrolls Online - but looking at it now, it has transformed into one of the best MMOs out there. There's always the hope the Fallout 76 develops the same way and becomes something special, but for now, that seems impossible. It's a world away from that.

Fallout 76 isn't your typical fallout experience. You don't have NPCs or dialogue, but instead get real players that should fill this void - that ultimately fails to do so. It does some things right, but as of now I cannot recommend getting this game as long as it stays a broken and boring mess that it is right now.

Fallout 76 is the series’ Freshman introduction into the world of online, multiplayer games. As a result, we are experiencing all of the awkwardness and clumsiness associated with that season of life. It is imperfect and a bit uncomfortable, but I see opportunity for Fallout 76 to be more than it presently it - to be a truly great, rich Fallout experience.
