I originally rated this game a zero because I couldn't log in, turns out it was playstation's fault. The game isn't perfect but has potential and is already better after the first big patch. If you like Fallout and have some patience, you may end up liking this game. It's been on sale everywhere.

I really enjoyed the game lots to explore and discover. Heaps of systems and progression to learn, I can build my dream house anywhere in Appalachia.
Might not be a gane for everyone, but no need to get angry at people that like the game like many do. I personally cant for the life of me understand how people can like simple repetitive , basic games like Animal Crossing and many JRPGs,

So let them play and be happy you enjoy something. I personally find much more appealing about a complex, systems heavy game like FO7 than a game where you feel like your just there to press a button on occasion, but many like the simple repetition. And no one is wrong about what they like.

Nothing but smooth sailing on PC through the BETA and now on the release. Got my digital copy through Bethesda, didn't need to enter a code and was in having fun right away. The game is a lot of fun, exactly how I wanted a Fallout game to be and only getting better as they resolve the outstanding bugs.

No NPCs was known well in advance of launch and surprisingly works well for 76. It fits into the story. If you're big into fallout lore, felt fallout 4 was crowded, and enjoy survival/base building then this game will be good for you. If you lack imagination, want things spoon fed or are looking for a full fledge shooter like pubg, move on. Expand

Albeit negative reviews from angry kids, this game is fun! I had over 15 hours of play time where I enjoyed myself and had tons of funny created moments with other players. PVP is not mandatory which is amazing!
Sure, the engine is dated and there's a bit of uncanny feel to it, but trust me you will have fun!

of course there are some bugs that need to be fixed, and they will be. the game itself is great, full of enemies and quests, it never gets boring, and its an MMO fallout, come on, it couldn't be better.

I must state that I initially was not planning on buying Fallout 76, for many reasons and concerns which were already echoed by other members of the community, but then I decided to give it a try and had a blast!

I played throughout all the Beta sessions on PS4, also stayed up all night to play it during release, have +30 hours in total. Played mostly solo and for about 7 hours partied up with other players who I stumbled into randomly.

The game is excellent if you have a bit of fantasy, allowing you to create your own adventure. I could never get into Fallout 4 as I found its premise and plot quite bland, but I love other Bethesda games, such as Fallout New Vegas, TES: Morrowind and TES: Skyrim.
I can understand how the concern of the lack of NPCs can be alerting, but so far the story was very engaging: some of stories were very emotional and thought-provoking.

PVP is surprisingly fun - had a lot of interesting encounters with other players, which ended up becoming a shootouts for half an hour. The only thing I would change about it is the revenge mechanic, infinitely respawning on your opponent is silly.

Graphics is great for PS4, being a multiplayer game I did not expect the graphics to be any better, otherwise the server would not be able to handle it. Freezes do happen every now and then but do not require a restart.

Overall I believe FO 76 has a promising future, can't wait to see what Bethesda has in store for it. See you all in the Wasteland!

You have quests that can be followed, or not. There is a leveling system that slowly unlocks more and more possibilities in the game, and many more interesting things you can do.

And you can do it with friends. The game is PVP optional, people won't just run up to you and start killing you. You won't get sniped by another player you never see coming. Not that death is a huge burden, either. But those who choose to PVP can.

Graphically the game is superior to previous versions of fallout. Colors are vibrant, darks are dark. Using the Pipboy flashlight is a must.

Quests can be ignored, but following them grants great rewards in EXP and items. Just moving through the map will uncover new quests and they can all be tracked through the display.

After a few hours you find yourself moving through a nuclear wasteland encountering many deadly things while you try to find items to better yourself and stay alive. You keep pushing for the next town or next find, because you don't know what could be there. But once you find it, and kill it, you know you will find a great reward.

My only complaint is that I am going to have to work and sleep instead of play the game.

The game is really really good. The sad part about this, is that people are scoring the game without trying it, out of pure hate for it being online and having multiplayer, or because it's not Fallout 5, like they were expecting. I'm in Fallout groups in Facebook, and I have seen first hand boycott organizations to throttle Fallout 76.

There's so many aspects of the game that is great too. Of course it has it's glitches, just like any Bethesda game, and with it being online only you should expect issues with the server from time to time. But that's not the game or Bethesda, that's just online games in general. Bethesda is committed to continuously improving the game. If you find issues, write it down and report it on their forums, simple. Don't just complain about it on a review site, that by no means leads to a proper solution.

Great game, great gameplay, great graphics, awesome new creatures, the game feels very lively, and does not indicate that all new games going forward will be multiplayer or online. Don't trust these negative reviews, sour people are going to be sour. They will also be the loud ones because everybody who's enjoying the game doesn't want to delve into the hate that is spewing everywhere. That's why you might see more negative than positive reviews. Believe me, this is a good game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Fallout 76 is a collection of contradictions.

On the one hand, even at the time of writing, it has some big bugs, on the other hand they pale in comparison to the fun of launching nukes and the multitude of events.
The story is an incredibly deep, tragic, complicated, meditation on technology and its relationship with humankind, yet it is ultimately a jigsaw puzzle composed by ghosts. It is an incredibly solemn, at times lonely, experience, but conversely it has the best community of people you could possibly play with.
All of this is to say that Fallout 76 doesn't work on the terms of a typical single player RPG, where choice results from the differing desires of NPCs. BGS has made them before, and there are numerous others on the market. It works because in between the quests and events, there is a collection of incredibly fun gameplay experiences. Fighting the Scorchbeast Queen with a server of strangers, uncovering the history of Appalachia leading up to Reclamation Day (Myst as written by Cormack McCarthy), helping new players build their CAMP, and of course launching nukes. The voice actors are phenomenal, perfectly setting the mood of the game. And the frequent updates have made the game better, with backpacks, events, and bug fixes. The new Nuclear Winter mode is another addictive addition, with high replayability. Highly recommended. Because of, not in spite of, the contradictions.

I have started playing the game because of the trial period announced on E3. The battle-royale mode (Nuclear Winter) is nice. The main game remembers a lot Fallout 4. I don't miss of NPC's. The other players haven't force PvP battles. It's a nice online game. It's not perfect, but the Bethesda has been worked a lot improving the game. I believe the game will be cool in the future.

I feel many haters have given way too many downgraded reviews for Fallout 76. Launch bugs and problems were mostly fixed with the first patch. I too was pretty annoyed after my main quest-line broke, but I don’t suffer from an attention spam of a five-year-old mentality.

Wasteland can be pretty difficult at times; weapons, armor gets broken, need to feed and eat, random enemy attacks

To be honest this game is good, I really like it, the fact that you can create your own story and do whatever you want is so fun. The people who are complaining about the game obviously don't have a sense of creativity and imagination. Yes it's buggy, and there are some points where it's boring but overall I think it's a fun game.

There are so many stories and places to check out it can be overwhelming, but in a good way. The world is huge and amazing if you enjoy open world exploration type of games. The limit of 24 per server helps make the game feel like you are one of the last survivors in the area. You can spend hours exploring just one town and not even realize it.

Don't let other people tell you what you'll enjoy. Just rent and try it for yourself. It's not the next game after Fallout 4 and it never was meant to be. It's a post apocalyptic survivor game, where all human NPCs that weren't in the security of a vault died off in the area and you have stepped out of your vault for the first time.

There are blips and stumbles here and there, but nothing that would take away form the pure unbridled exploration that exists throughout Appalachia.

People complaining about the food/hydration systems have not played this game for very long. Every system, be it shooting, melee, food, hydration, carry weight, all increase as you level up as a player. This is an RPG and if you were in a vault for 25 years and went outside for the first time, potentially ever, with a nasty hangover, you wouldn't be so great with aiming or being able to survive alone in the woods solo either.

"I love Fallout games but never really pay close attention to the main quest." -This is the Fallout game for you. "I heard there are no NPCs" There are no HUMAN NPCs, but there are plenty of quest givers in the world to send you to new places and teach you new systems. "This game is dumb." -You probably haven't played it and love the idea of being negative for sport. "Bethesda games are buggy" -You're right, and they've laid out a roadmap of what they're fixing with regular updates. "This isn't a single player game." -You're right. This isn't. People complain that it's not 'proper' Fallout (however you'd care to define that term), but it's a multiplayer game based on FO4 which is exactly what Bethesda promised, and exactly what they delivered. Making this a multiplayer experience necessarily changes the way has to be designed compared to previous versions. While some are giving this game negative review after review, I would like to say I'm enjoying this game. So here goes:

    Graphics/Visuals:
With Bethesda using their own engine to power the game, we can all agree that it's nothing compared to UE4. But they still is able to take what they have and bring about a vibrant lively world that is full of wonder/mystery while being full of unknown dangers. Now certain games are able to be detailed down to a single particle or thread through the power of UE4. But the environments are still full of details that give the game a rustic and gritty feel to it that should be expected in the Fallout universe.

    Sounds/Effects:
Previous games in the Fallout franchise have had sounds that felt a bit overplayed or too generic for my personal preference, but the sounds of gunfire in Fallout 4 and this game have become more exciting and realistic. While wearing headphones, the sound of the gunshots up close can surprise me or when I hear gunfire in the distance, it gives a great feel of immersion in the game. Other sounds such as the haunting hiss of the Scorched or the terrifying roar of the Schorchbeast can give you a feeling of terror or excitement. Some sounds in the game regarding, in example, objects moving around can sometimes be made when nothing is moving (and maybe that is a bug that is going to be fixed at some point) can sometimes throw you off, but there's still more accuracy in the sounds of the game. When you're in a building or house and you start to hear the creaking of piping in the building or floor boards give the feeling of how the setting is supposed to be; nothing more than rotting/rusting buildings that have been abandoned for decades. It makes you really feel like the place is abandoned and gives off a certain atmosphere to the setting.

    Mechanics:
This one is going to be a beast to write. The mechanics do have the influence from Fallout 4. And in some cases that's okay. While in others, it can be a bit inconvenient. Fallout 76 brings back the mechanics for things such as moving about the world, using a weapon, and even building structures around your C.A.M.P. This game brings back some of those mechanics while expanding on them with the survival aspects, the new VATS, and many more. Using my weapons, navigating through the menus feels crisp and normal as any game should feel, but sometimes the controls can lag a little (and maybe that has to do with the connectivity/stability, but we'll get into that). At times, I would be aiming down my sights to fire at an enemy, but the game doesn't immediately respond when I release the aim button. Another mechanic that could use work, and I know everyone that has played will agree, is the C.A.M.P. inventory space. 400 may seem like a good number at first, but will become smaller and smaller the further you progress in the game. Now, I'm not saying this should be an infinite amount, but I would like to see Bethesda change this number to a higher digit say like 1,000. That seems more reasonable when you're trying to build your home in the wasteland. Plus, it allows the player to store certain items for a later time, or when they become high enough level to use it. I also feel that the vendors should not be asking so much for an item when they will only give you a small portion of caps in return. In example. I saw a missile launcher being sold for 158 caps at the vendor, but only offered me 20 caps when I sold it to the vendor robot. The missile launcher was in a better condition than what was being sold, and I felt like I was at Gamestop trying to sell a game back to them. Another mechanic is the NPC deal. While others believe this was a terrible idea, I still felt it was a good idea. Todd Howard and Bethesda both promised us a game that had every human being you meet be a real person, and they made good on that promise. At the time it was announced, everyone cheered for the idea. Where is all that excitement now? I like that everyone I meet is a real person. When I come across someone, I'm not sure whether that person is going to try to kill me, needs help with something, or just wants to trade items. And that's what this game is supposed to do is give you that bit of mystery instead of everyone outside a city is trying to kill you. And trading with players is great. Being able to decide what to sell and how much to sell it for really gives that barter feeling.

    Connectivity/Stability:
Now I know that this game has been pretty buggy to some of you while others don't experience as many bugs. That's just how it goes with games these days. Report the bugs, and hope they get fixed. Don't let it ruin your experience. And the servers are being worked on, people. This is Bethesda's first multiplayer game, and they're doing pretty good with it. Be patient.

Ending with this, I think the game is a lot of fun. With it's many faults, it still has many great things about it. I will still enjoy playing the game.

The game gets more and more fun as I keep playing it as I discover more hidden storylines, grow my base and equipment, the options for character development grow and the engagements with other human players grows. I've been playing this game with my wife and it's quite perfect as we can play FO76 both together and alone without feeling like either of us has been missing out on a single main storyline. The game is just another totally different experience from the previous single players Fallouts so it should not be ranked according to the same parameters. You can tell that years of work went into this game and frankly it seems rather rude and immature to dismiss this game without even putting a good few hours of trying it out.

I'm a big fan of the Fallout series and yes:
    - The game is quite buggy and crashes out regularly, which IMO is bad but forgivable as it does not significanty detract from the game experience
    - The lack of human/non hostile NPCs did disappoint me at first, as one of the most enjoyable parts of the Fallout series were the fascinating characters and societies.

What at first I missed myself and most of the negative reviewers also missed is that:
    - the world is absolutely huge and has so much variety and hidden storylines. Despite the lack of human NPCs, there are many great robot run places which add a lot of flavour.
    - the variety of guns and armour has been decisively increased
    - the search and manufacturing of junk goods becomes a quite rewarding ingredient in the "survival" theme
    - the teamplay (when possible) is actually a lot of fun and taking down big enemies accompanied by other players is really satisfying
    - the camp building is pretty awesome as it requires some effort being put in it to search for plans and levelling up to increase budget. You can also build your base pretty much anywhere which allows for some very cool views.

So, anyone looking to buy Fallout 76 I would strongly recommend. To those who have bought it and are disappointed so far I say, give it a proper try and add in-world friends, it gets better and better as you play it.

I have been playing with mostly semi-auto rifles and shotguns. Probably about 50 hours played.

There's simply so much to do, and it plays like a higher quality version of Fallout 4, but with random interactions with real people that often make for hilarious events. The quests are pretty fun, some more than others. I think the daily missions are a great way to break away from exploration or questing if you want immediate, intense gun fighting and action. I only see these expanding and increasing as Bethesda updates the game.

The questing is pretty standard, and comparing it to something like Destiny 2, the Fallout narratives are much more enthralling, and the Overseer in this game is a compelling and likable character. The balance of her decisions feels authentic, and I feel the writers did a great job on the main story line in particular. The side quests and random daily events are a lot of fun, and there's probably about ~40 of them so i haven't repeated any, except for a few really challenging and fun ones (Defecding the BoS fort from Scorch Beasts). Overall, the removal of human NPC's has had somewhat a positive effect as I hated the chat functions of fallout 4. In 76, the narrative progresses as you play over holotapes, and I think this makes for more of an action oriented game, with less breaks from playing to sit and talk to sometimes boring characters. The robots are also somewhat funny, especially the police bots in Watoga.

The combat is a mix of low level trash mobs that are pretty easy to clear, to more mid level mobs that can quickly swarm you, to the scorch beasts, which are a challenge. I think there can be some AI improvements on the scorched and super mutants to make them more of a challenge, as they seem pretty easy, whereas scorch beasts are extremely hard especially in groups. If more than 1 scorch beast attacks you, be prepared to pop 10+ stims and run away just to survive. I'd like to see some middle tier enemies between scorch/mutants and scorch beasts.

The new VATS system is perfect for a real-time multiplayer game. I cant think of any other way they could have done it, and for really fast moving, small enemies, it takes the hassle out of playing.

I really have enjoyed the interactions with other players. Multiplayer has mostly been co-op, but there is a PvP radio station that when you tune in, makes it more full-on PvP without the "first to fire" system.

There are small issues here and there, such a visual bugs, etc, but this is such a massive game with so much going on, I have been shocked by how high quality every inch of this game is, from the physics to the textures, etc. Nothing game breaking at all.

The multiplayer is a great addition to what is an awesome stand-alone Fallout game. Being able to jump into activities with friends when they're on is great. Being able to play on your own or with randoms when your friends are not online is also great.

The crafting and unlock system really gives the player a feeling of progression, having to scrap many different similar weapons to really build a full crafting recipe library.
The weapon choices are great, and I am loving the lever-action rifles!

Overall, this is just about everything I want in a MP Fallout game, and I'm excited to see what new features and content they add. I would like a match-based PvP system, I think that would be cool.

i was worried about initial reviews. The general consensus seems to be that Bethesda may have tied a noose around my favorite series, but Fallout 76 is absolutely worth your time. The story alone is worth your time. The parallels they tie between current political issues and the historic issues in the Fallout universe are bone chilling. Don't rush through it; immerse yourself in the story. Every note between family, every political flier, and every protest sign is a stroke of paint creating a portrait of a land dragged down by corporate greed. The restless masses were so close to the point of boiling over that even years later their anger is evident. War would have come to Appalachia even if the bombs never fell.

    Beta/Servers
i skipped the beta, because i wanted to start on release day. Luckily, i missed the initial server issues due to waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I've only been disconnected 3 times in my entire playtime (20-30 hours i think). You hook onto servers extremely fast.

    Graphics/Gameplay
I'm playing on PS4. I get lag when i am crafting, but other than that I haven't had any major lag issues. I've had 2 or 3 teleporting enemies (mostly the scorched). Some reviewers say that the scorched are messed up because they act weird, but you learn from the story that they are supposed to act like that. I've been generally lucky with glitches, as I haven't experienced anything game breaking. I have experienced funny little glitches that gave me a good laugh, but nothing irritating.

    Building/Camps
i love building and Fallout 76 has somewhat improved upon Fallout 4's system. Building elements snap easier, but you still have to trick things into place every once in a while. i like having to buy building plans because it makes me appreciate every plan i find and REALLY appreciate a plan i shell out caps for. Unfortunately, don't get too attached to a camp because in all likelihood it will go away. if your camp exists where another player has already built their camp then your camp will get stored upon entering that server. It is currently extremely difficult to place the camp blueprint that you receive when your camp is stored. I've never lost any materials when my camp was stored, so rebuilding wasn't that bad for me.

    Perks
i love the perk system. I am a hoarder, so I took a ton of weight reduction perks. I can carry MOUNTAINS of junk. i then bundle that junk and sell it to vendors everyday for caps so i can buy plans and fast travel. The perk system feels similar enough to the old leveling method so it wasn't too difficult to learn, but it also makes me feel more involved in directing my character's growth.

    Multiplayer
Even griefers really make the universe. I got my butt handed to me by a team of people preying on other players. Honestly, it was the most authentic raider scenario I've ever had in a post-apocalyptic game. NPCs just can't get on the same level of craziness as flesh and blood human beings. You only lose junk on death, so I got the unique experience, but didn't lose a whole lot from it. There are issues here though. if you do kill your attacker the revenge system can make it difficult to get away from them especially if they are on a team (i believe they can fast travel to team members). I think that if they attack you then they shouldn't get the option for revenge. I've also had some endearing interactions with other players. It's nice to walk by and hear another player humming along with the radio. Just like in real life, there are good and bad people out there.

    NPCs
There are NPCs everywhere in the game. I can't for the life of me figure out why people keep saying there are no NPCs. There are no human NPCs, but quirky non-human NPCs are everywhere. The lack of people really makes the pain in the story stick. I don't want to get into why there are no people, because i don't want to spoil the story. But i will say that this story would not be even a fraction as powerful if there were people present.

    Story
Multiple reviews have said that there is a severe lack of story or that the lack of NPCs makes the story weak. Well, the only way that you are lacking a story is if you actively ignore it. I get excited every time I see a piece of paper sitting on a desk because it's another glimpse into a world lost to me.

Overall, I'm scoring Fallout 76 high, because the game can absolutely stand on its own. It isn't perfect. i came at it as a critic of this genre and I am thoroughly enjoying it. i like the story much MUCH more than Fallout 4. it lets you wander at your own pace and really live in the world without being chained to story characters.

I feel there is a lot of hate and judgement before really understanding the game. I'm about 20-25 hours in now.

This game doesn't have a tour guide and I feel Bethesda might've been received better if there was hand holding. What it does is, gives you general quest guides to let you find and figure it out on your own. All the thing you find to do, you'll find through exploration and discovering it yourself. Even hidden mechanics to discover.

There is a ton of things to do. Its just a matter of exploring and discovering the world.

The complaint about the lack of NPC's.. I get it, i agree it is missing some of that NPC color in lieu of having any other human being the colorful real life people you interact with. So far this hasn't been much of a negative. I do miss the NPC color, even Preston Garvey, but the genuinely decent community of people I've encounter have made up for it.

Overall, this game is phenomenal, but its not a guided tour. They're plopping you down in an arcade, you just have to go out and find what you want play and have fun with it.

I honestly don't understand the hate for this game.

It's almost exactly the online fallout experience I wanted it to be. Imagine playing fallout 4 in co op. If that appeals to you and you have reliable people to play with, you will love this game. The lack of human-shaped NPCs doesn't affect your enjoyment of it at all. If anything, it teaches you to scour areas to find and build

This game gets a lot of hate for many valid reasons, but after spending some 7 days playing it (solo and with friends), I have to say I've fallen in love with the game. It took some getting used to - because while it's similar to Fallout 4, the players are the ones in charge of the story narrative.

The premise is actually revolutionary when you look at it from a different perspective.

It took some getting used to - because while it's similar to Fallout 4, the players are the ones in charge of the story narrative.

The premise is actually revolutionary when you look at it from a different perspective. Here you are, coming out of the vault to an empty, cruel and unforgiving world, where most people have either died to the local wildlife (of which some are truly terrifying) or succumbed to the Scorch virus. As the player, you must discover what happened, where everyone went, then try to reclaim the wasteland for yourself and others from Vault 76. Apart from robots and the odd super mutant trader, you're all that's left.

You can band together with friends, or go it alone (both of which offer different and unique experiences). I prefer soloing for quests and general exploration, but band together with friends to roleplay and join in on events and general combat.

In terms of roleplay, it's actually quite clever. Because there are no NPCs in the world, it's down to the players to take on the role of the factions. My sister and I joined the Enclave, and after an amazing initiation questline (some seriously emotional journals to read), we worked up the ranks and donned our enclave armour. We then went around in the world, doing nefarious enclave business. Some players even messaged us, asking how to join up. We even had a spat with a few Brotherhood players and it was great fun.

The perk system carries over from Fallout 4, so the same builds you used there can be made in 76. This is great for those who know what they want to do and are familiar with the setup. Perk cards are a step up from the old system, and this affords you more choice in building your character and changing things on the fly. Some people might not like this, but I think it works better in a multiplayer format, so no grumbles from me.

Things that I feel need more work are as follows.

Base building: It's clunky and because the game is online, you have a limit on how much you can build. It's obvious the devs are trying out something new, and aren't entirely sure how to go about it. I'm confident they will learn and change things as time goes on. It's not game breaking, just a tad annoying.

Bugs: Oh boy, there are some humdingers in this game. While I myself find them quirky and hilarious (part of the fallout charm), others will not. Nothing game breaking has happened per se, but a few graphical errors have left my group of friends crying with laughter. The naked glitched power armour body being the main source of amusement.

Combat: It's clunky and no different from Fallout 4, except you now have server and connection issues to contend with. Most of the time I have no issues, but if a server is going mad, then rubberbanding is a thing. A quick server switch fixes this and I can only assume it happens because I'm in the wrong server for my area.

VATS: I miss the original slow motion vats, but this real-time version gets the job done. It's really the only option the Dev team had when faced with keeping VATS in for multiplayer.

Stash box: Similar to the build limit, we have a stash limit. The Devs need to work out a way for players to stash more loot, as its current system is too crippling on the player. I'm a hoarder and don't want to have to choose between a heavy gun or a new piece of power armour.

Factions: Faction events and wars would be great, especially if we also have unique ongoing missions to show a particular factions presence in the world. I hear they are planning something similar, so watch this space.

Despite its flaws, the game is fantastic fun to play. It feels just like a Fallout game, and not like an ESO copy. Those funny moments are still in there and its hard not to get caught up in the quest for rare armour/guns.

This is my honest review, everything included in this is my sole opinion, and doesn't in anyway express the general consensus. I enjoy the game and will continue to play it because it reminds me of the throwback days when games were just fun and didn't take themselves too seriously.

Oh, and on a side note, I've played plenty of MMO's and even with NPCS, they can feel empty at times. A soulless AI is just that. I like where the Devs are trying to go with this, filling it with actual living, breathing people. I just think they could've spent more time and money on using a new engine and testing it with a wide range of alpha testers. I hope they listen to feedback and consider how best to go forward.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love this game. I expected hitches here and there, but they're markedly few & far between in spite of what hyperbolic rubbish some folks attempt to circulate. Fact is, you have to a) have friends, b) enjoy role-playing to prosper in this wild (sometimes beautiful) landscape. The Metacritic quip about "reduced to shooting mutants and picking up rubbish" applies to virtually MMO, ever. The difference is that instead of relying on NPCs to feed you human commentary, you have to express it yourself - to every human you meet. _You_ are the one commenting on post-apocalyptic life - not Preston Garvey, some Brotherhood douche, or (bless him) Nick Valentine. Thus far, it's been a world me and my friends can get happily lost in. Expand

The problem with everyone reviewing this game is that they are writing their reviews in the first hour of playing the game. This Game was designed to be a coop mmo/rpg. There are tons of quests, public events that happen frequently, and a ton of unlock able content. I saw complaints that the building and mod menus were very limited. They are only limited because you dont have the content unlocked/ discovered. This game takes time. GIve it a chance like every other fallout game, it just takes time...

So utterly disappointing and flawed in every possible way… The first few hours, most of it can be ignored, and occasionally the flaws can be forgotten, but only briefly before they come storming back to the forefront. An awful, boring, empty, pointless experience. There is, however, a glimmer of hope. It's worth mentioning that there has already been a Bethesda title that was equally as unimpressive: The Elder Scrolls Online - but looking at it now, it has transformed into one of the best MMOs out there. There's always the hope the Fallout 76 develops the same way and becomes something special, but for now, that seems impossible. It's a world away from that.

Fallout 76 isn't your typical fallout experience. You don't have NPCs or dialogue, but instead get real players that should fill this void - that ultimately fails to do so. It does some things right, but as of now I cannot recommend getting this game as long as it stays a broken and boring mess that it is right now.

Fallout 76 is the series’ Freshman introduction into the world of online, multiplayer games. As a result, we are experiencing all of the awkwardness and clumsiness associated with that season of life. It is imperfect and a bit uncomfortable, but I see opportunity for Fallout 76 to be more than it presently it - to be a truly great, rich Fallout experience.
