Perhaps in the future, the game will have content, but now it is empty, like the head of those designers and writers who made it.

Insane game. Always loved all fallout games for that autistic wasteland waste looting with beloved old jazz songs on radio. The fact that this game hasn't any NPC is great because it boosts that autistic feeling so much. No npc + rare players meetings - that thing leaves you alone in this world. Fantastic!

    My advice, wait.

There may be a good game in here, somewhere, but at the moment it's a shambolic mess. This is an early access game at best, lots of bugs, lots of server issues and a whole host of game play mechanics that just don't transfer well from a solo RPG to an online multi-player experience. But who knows, maybe a year from now this could be worth your money... but not now, not by a long shot.

Even if someone tells that this game is not Fallout, I tell that this IS Fallout, this is Fallout 4, taken and copied and this is bad. Let's change tha models and the graphic engine please! I am a big fan of the franchise and this is my disappont. Obviously I can't give a 0 vote because this is ridiculous. And the absence of NPC is very a pain.

Fallout 4 broke the internet after its initial announcement almost 7 years after Fallout 3's launch (28th of October 2008, which is 10 years ago now) at the very memorable E3 2015 alongside other huge titles that weekend, but after an average gameplay experience, fans wanted something better (it wasn't better) Fallout 76 was announced during a Twitch Livestream and Shown at E3 2018 and released this year on the 14th of November to very mixed opinion, from bad, really bad, to The Quiet Man.

Gonna go ahead and be a voice of reason in a sea of absolute insanity. This game is not only NOT the terrible game that the droning masses make it out to be, it is a damn fine multiplayer game. The systems in play work well together to allow you to play with friends or random players, while still keeping the lonely wanderer aesthetic and world that has come to be associated with the franchise.

When walking backwards you walk into invisible walls yes i see that there was nothing stopping me when i turned around to see why i couldn't walk backwards. The main story quest is you following holo tapes that someone leaves behind and you don't feel like you are contributing to anything. The pvp is broken when you are up against 2 people with power armor and you got nothing and there is something you can do but let them kill you. The building is broken there are only a few spots to build and if someone builds at a workshop you can't move it or collect your stuff that got placed next to it. The hit detection of enemies is also broken. Just don't buy it and save your self the trouble or just watch people streaming it. Expand

Also, unlike what was advertised the game is barely playable solo. Multiple reasons for this: every thing is a bullet sponge that eats though the small amount of ammo that can be found. Then there is the lack of finding Stimpaks or things that can heal you. I can be hours of playing before running across a stimpack. Oh you also need food and water seams like every time I turn around I have to consume one or the other if not both. Also, extremely low cary wight but that's not too bad as you can put stuff in your stash when you get to it... oh and that is already full. no luck there. The quests are all fetch and forget ordeals given to you by souless robots or other non-human mechanisms.

There are NO companions and this hurts because; I always enjoyed the Super Mutant Companions. Last thing I want in a game is to spend hours crafting a nice building or defense only to have some 8 year old ruin it all. Don't even get me started on the patch that is HUGE like 50 gigabytes, so forget it if you don't have high speed broadband.

Mostly the Fallout 76 is boring, repetitive and uninspired. The story is lame and the lack of Human NPC's just makes the world feel empty. The NPC's used to add a layer of immersion to the story and quests that made things fun, consequential and worth doing. My review has no spoilers because, Fallout 76 is so bad there is literally nothing to spoil here. The problem with garbage is that it is already spoiled and Fallout 76 is just plain straight up garbage. Save your money on this mess it is not worth buying not even for $3.00 in the bargain bin!

But the fact of the matter is, this game needed another six to eight months of solid development before release. Every Bethesda game has been buggy, the bugs add some character to the games. But this is entire quest lines that can't be completed, quest items repeatedly spawning inside of cliffs, underground, or inside of buildings that don't have entrances. Textures don't render, and gigabytes upon gigabytes of patches don't even come close to scratching the surface of the problem.

I generally have a policy against pre-ordering games, but Bethesda is a studio that's built up such reputation for me that I was willing to bypass it - but never again. This is a combination of laziness and greed. Laziness to build something so unfinished and release it - and greed for trying to rush it so much to capitalize on the Black Friday / Christmas holiday season.

Someone said "Hey, we know the game isn't finished, but if we don't drop it now, we won't make money. We can deal with 60% of our content being disfunctional or completely broken.". That's the real slap in the face here.

I expected hitches here and there, but they're markedly few & far between in spite of what hyperbolic rubbish some folks attempt to circulate. Fact is, you have to a) have friends, b) enjoy role-playing to prosper in this wild (sometimes beautiful) landscape. The Metacritic quip about "reduced to shooting mutants and picking up rubbish" applies to virtually MMO, ever. The difference is that instead of relying on NPCs to feed you human commentary, you have to express it yourself - to every human you meet. _You_ are the one commenting on post-apocalyptic life - not Preston Garvey, some Brotherhood douche, or (bless him) Nick Valentine. The foundation of the game is extremely solid and should be expanded upon with future content releases to reduce stagnation. Gameplay is really smooth and I haven't experienced a lot of lag.

There are some bugs and network issues that are pretty annoying. I've had my CAMP despawn into individual parts and even lost some expensive built pieces during the process. My fast travel point constantly puts me underwater. The lack of human NPCs seems like a huge oversight since there is evidence of people being almost everywhere. All the negatives don't make this a bad game though. It needs some more polish, some content to eventually come out as DLCs, and it would be perfect.

This game also focuses on areas of the fallout franchise that were not fan favorites (shooting, looting and fetch quests) in a blatant attempt for Bethesda and, by extension, Zenimax to get a piece of the ‘games as a service’ pie and to provide the company with a reliable source of finance for years to come, through the overpriced ‘Atom Shop’. Furthermore, the games horrendous performance on anything that isn’t an Xbox One X, the platform this game was clearly built for if the fact that the first gameplay trailer was announced at the Microsoft’s E3 conference, hampers any real enjoyment possible in this game. Overall this Fallout 76 is a definite avoid until it goes on sale for the price the game actually is worth ($30). Expand

Power armor is designed to be used most all of the time however the sound is annoying after a while and the blocked field of view sucks. I understand people were upset with the bugs and glitches during the beta and think that the low reviews due to bugs BEFORE the game was released are uncalled for as it was a beta however I did not start playing it until it came out (actually about a week after it came out) and it still had bugs. Nothing like random crashing of a server or glitches making things fly. Maybe i was just hoping for something better. The final negative thing is the music! I'm not joking when i say that my daughter listens to fallout 4 music on google play all of the time and when she realized i had the new game she was soooo excited. When we turned on the radio, it was the same songs as fallout 4! Seriously! Expand

Many people said enough about why they dont like this game. What is missing, what is wrong. I do not feel the need to repeat that. I just want to say: this game is the first fallout game since the first in the mid 90ies i do not like at all, the first i just cannot have any fun with. I even liked Fallout Tactics and as from now on the PS2 Fallout is not the lowest of this franchise. That at least made a little bit fun with a friend.

I feel betrayed by Bethesda. 60 Euro for a game that i cant even get rid of cause i bought it on psn. I hope i do my share to warn people.

While some are giving this game negative review after review, I would like to say I'm enjoying this game. So here goes:

    Graphics/Visuals:
With Bethesda using their own engine to power the game, we can all agree that it's nothing compared to UE4. But they still is able to take what they have and bring about a vibrant lively world that is full of wonder/mystery while being full of unknown dangers. Now certain games are able to be detailed down to a single particle or thread through the power of UE4. But the environments are still full of details that give the game a rustic and gritty feel to it that should be expected in the Fallout universe.

    Sounds/Effects:
Previous games in the Fallout franchise have had sounds that felt a bit overplayed or too generic for my personal preference, but the sounds of gunfire in Fallout 4 and this game have become more exciting and realistic. While wearing headphones, the sound of the gunshots up close can surprise me or when I hear gunfire in the distance, it gives a great feel of immersion in the game. Other sounds such as the haunting hiss of the Scorched or the terrifying roar of the Schorchbeast can give you a feeling of terror or excitement. Some sounds in the game regarding, in example, objects moving around can sometimes be made when nothing is moving (and maybe that is a bug that is going to be fixed at some point) can sometimes throw you off, but there's still more accuracy in the sounds of the game. When you're in a building or house and you start to hear the creaking of piping in the building or floor boards give the feeling of how the setting is supposed to be; nothing more than rotting/rusting buildings that have been abandoned for decades. It makes you really feel like the place is abandoned and gives off a certain atmosphere to the setting.

    Mechanics:
This one is going to be a beast to write. The mechanics do have the influence from Fallout 4. And in some cases that's okay. While in others, it can be a bit inconvenient. Fallout 76 brings back the mechanics for things such as moving about the world, using a weapon, and even building structures around your C.A.M.P. This game brings back some of those mechanics while expanding on them with the survival aspects, the new VATS, and many more. Using my weapons, navigating through the menus feels crisp and normal as any game should feel, but sometimes the controls can lag a little (and maybe that has to do with the connectivity/stability, but we'll get into that). At times, I would be aiming down my sights to fire at an enemy, but the game doesn't immediately respond when I release the aim button. Another mechanic that could use work, and I know everyone that has played will agree, is the C.A.M.P. inventory space. 400 may seem like a good number at first, but will become smaller and smaller the further you progress in the game. Now, I'm not saying this should be an infinite amount, but I would like to see Bethesda change this number to a higher digit say like 1,000. That seems more reasonable when you're trying to build your home in the wasteland. Plus, it allows the player to store certain items for a later time, or when they become high enough level to use it. I also feel that the vendors should not be asking so much for an item when they will only give you a small portion of caps in return. In example. I saw a missile launcher being sold for 158 caps at the vendor, but only offered me 20 caps when I sold it to the vendor robot. The missile launcher was in a better condition than what was being sold, and I felt like I was at Gamestop trying to sell a game back to them. Another mechanic is the NPC deal. While others believe this was a terrible idea, I still felt it was a good idea. Todd Howard and Bethesda both promised us a game that had every human being you meet be a real person, and they made good on that promise. At the time it was announced, everyone cheered for the idea. Where is all that excitement now? I like that everyone I meet is a real person. When I come across someone, I'm not sure whether that person is going to try to kill me, needs help with something, or just wants to trade items. And that's what this game is supposed to do is give you that bit of mystery instead of everyone outside a city is trying to kill you. And trading with players is great. Being able to decide what to sell and how much to sell it for really gives that barter feeling.

    Connectivity/Stability:
Now I know that this game has been pretty buggy to some of you while others don't experience as many bugs. That's just how it goes with games these days. Report the bugs, and hope they get fixed. Don't let it ruin your experience. And the servers are being worked on, people. This is Bethesda's first multiplayer game, and they're doing pretty good with it. Be patient.

Ending with this, I think the game is a lot of fun. With it's many faults, it still has many great things about it. I will still enjoy playing the game.

The crafting and building aspects are great, and remain my most fond memories of Fallout 4; and I'm sure that they will be releasing patches at time goes on to build larger and more relevant homesteads. But as long as there is such a low limit to concurrent players, the inability to select a specific server, and lack of NPCs; it remains just a poorly designed single player experience.

The server disconnects occasionally, but at least I never lose any progress (hated Destiny for this). The lack of linear story is a change, but a welcome one as I feel like I'm not rushed to find my kid or whatever, but I'm more immersed in seeing the aftermath of the war and the years that followed. This is not a game for people that enjoy PVP, or many of the traditional aspects of online play. This is a version of Fallout that tells a new story of what happened before, and if you allow yourself to be immersed in the holotapes, notes, journals, etc. it's quite a good one. If you rush through to find "end-game" stuff, you're missing the point. Near the last day of the Beta, I was walking down the street, listening to the Classical station with my sniper rifle, and I knew I was hooked (and have played every day since with no regrets). Playing with a friend is even better when we have semi-permanent camps near each other and can explore & chat together. Encountering strangers has been a positive experience, one that normally causes me to dislike online games, but I expect the bad reviews are keeping those types away and leaving only the hardcore fans to enjoy the peace & quiet together. If you ever played a previous Fallout, and wished you could just play that game forever, with friends, and (presumably) an endless stream of content for years to come, this is that game. I understand why people are hating on it... it's not for everyone... but it's worth a try and for some of us it is really good. Expand

The current scores for Fallout 76 are between 20 and 30% by users. This is one of those games where the score is spot on. In its current stage and with its lack of content it is definitely a 2 out of 10 game. The 2 is there just for the map and slight tie in to previous fallout games. It's certainly not enjoyable or has any replay value.

There is a possibility that the game could become better with new content, NPCs that deliver a plot to this dead and barren sandbox. If they fix the bugs and add some balancing then it might also be good for PvE. This game engine can't do PvP. It's too old and too broken to jury rig in any way to make this an enjoyable PvP experience.

And as for the price? It's an absolute insult charging fans $60 for a cut down version of Fallout 4. This is a dlc at best and the price should reflect it. So avoid wasting your money. If it appears as a $10 sale item then I might recommend it just for the Fallout lore. But I'm sure modders could actually add a lot of this into a overhaul mod for Fallout 4 given enough time.

First and foremost, I think it's important to underline a few of the things Fallout 76 does right, because I feel many tend to focus on its worst elements.

One thing Fallout 76 does incredible at, is environmental story telling. The world feels lived in, and the ruins feel atmospheric. Even though this game lacks the NPCs we've all come to enjoy from Fallout, they still manage to present some great side stories through Holotapes, and assorted bits of Lore.
The landscape is brimming with plant life, with it being far more prominent compared to past games in the series; It looks and feels so distinct from anything we're used to seeing from Fallout. There are just so many details you can overlook and so many places you can go; The game just has this level of macbe beauty to it all...

Aside from some of the multiplayer and base building elements there really aren't many more things I can say positively about the game... Fallout 76 just feels like it needed more time. Although many familiar elements from Fallout 4 and other games in the series are here, there are also a lot of things that feel sorely lacking. The procedural events feel awkwardly timed sometimes, and although the world has other players, many are disinterested in communicating let alone engaging with you (Though this isn't necessarily a new thing for multiplayer experiences).
This game wants to be special, and I genuinely feel like they tried to make it good. But as it stands right now, Fallout 76, for all intensive purposes, is a work in progress I just can't recommend.

The gunplay and crafting system are fun. I enjoy the SPECIAL/perks a lot. And the music is of course great.

But really that's all this fallout is doing well at the moment.

I'm already wondering what will keep people playing once they hit lvl 50, end game content doesn't seem great.

However, idk how many people will keep playing to end game. This game is freaking disaster in terms of performance, netcode, and bugs.

I constantly get crashes, have instances of the game freezing for 10+ seconds at a time, runs sluggishly, not to mention all the bugged quests and what not.

I think Bethesda bit off wayyyyyyyy more than they could chew. Fallouts are ALWAYS a buggy mess on release, but this time, this time it's something completely different.

I'd say, if it was a smooth experience and I could judge the game just from content alone, I would give it a 7. However, in it's current buggy mess, I can't deem it anything higher than a 5.

After reading a lot of **** reviews and a lot of "awesome" reviews I decided to post my own. First of all though, please do yourself a favor and ignore the 0-1 reviews and the 9-10 reviews as well. They're way too extreme.

Instead I have 3 different reviews depending on who you are and what your expectations are:

7 / 10 - this is something you would give if you are new to the franchise, decide to give the devs some slack for being their first MMO game, want to just have fun and enjoy the game. Sure the graphical engine is oldish, the world is devoid of humans but hey at least it's full of stuff to do and you won't get bored for the first 10-20 hours.

5 / 10 - this is the review for those of you who have heard of Bethesda and Fallout but are not die-hard fans. What you'll get is a mixed bag of single player / multi-player RPG features that don't quite work together. The old engine shows, there are pesky bugs all over the place. Not enough to make you leave but enough to take the joy out of it. All in all, a thoroughly average experience.

3 / 10 - this is the grade for Fallout fans through and through. This game just doesn't deliver. And we have come to expect so much from Bethesda. Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, were all awesome games, with great characters and immersive through rich story-telling and intrigue. This is all missing in a soul-less reincarnation of Fallout 4. From the concept. If we take into account the lazy implementation of a non-functional multi-player experience, city building, leveling up and character customization and the 10-year old graphical engine it becomes just a spit in every fan's face.

This is Bethesda we're talking about. They could have invested a lot of money in a new engine, in talented programmers and artists to build the most awesome MMORPG there is. But no, they decided to just make a quick buck.

Last but not least, shame on the publications that took Bethesda's money and write fluff pieces and 7/10+ reviews to sugarcoat what should be clear to anyone it is a full-size disaster.

You're either interacting with dead bodies, robots, or notes written by someone who has already left the area. I was hoping Bethesda could pull off this whole "No NPC" idea, but after only 2 hours in, I realized that they had failed miserably. Each human player that I've encountered in the game (which have actually been few and far between) have been mutes and seemed to have no desire in communication or interaction with other players. In a boring world with nothing to do, why would I build a base? So that I can do nothing in that base? What motivation would I have to launch a nuke at fellow players? In a world filled to the brim with nothing, what incentive do I have to succeed with these awful meaningless quests? I can already do nothing in the real-world without spending money on a game to do more nothing in. I feel like I've completely wasted my money and I supremely regret pre-ordering this game. This quote from TheReportOfTheWeek says it best: "My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined." Expand

Huge mistake; will never happen again. This game simply should not have, under any circumstances, been released in it's present state. Graphics that look like a PS2 game coupled with clunky mechanics, both of which are a result of a 10? 15? 20 year old engine probably held together by duct tape at this point & which must be retired. Some reviewers have reported framerate drops as low as 30 fps when areas get busy - 15 fps or less is more accurate. Server disconnects regularly. Lack of NPCs makes the game feel hollow & unfinished; quests are boring & repetitive. Listening to Holotapes non-stop wears thin very quickly. Enemy AI (if you can even call it that) is a joke - enemies either stand still while staring at you or they run straight at you. Occasionally some glitch & get trapped in a wall or the ground or a tree. As for running into other players, this has to be the only online multiplayer game where PVP & multiplayer aspects are virtually non-existent. Crossed paths with a couple other players who just threw an emote & ran by. One person offered stimpaks. And since there is nowhere near enough content or immersion to keep playing solo, the game quickly becomes a $60 scavenger hunt simulator. Bottom line is there is nothing redeeming about this game. It is most certainly not a AAA game & is not worth more than $10; there simply are no more excuses to be made for Bethesda releasing half-finished garbage like this. If this is seriously the best Bethesda can do in 2018 then, very sad to say, it may be time to either have some people step aside or just stop making games. Expand

The environment is nice and kind of a fallout atmosphere sets in.
However you do not find any good loot at all or the loot you find does not have any effect on your progression as well.
The events occurring on the map are completely random and you always have a hard time to compete with them. EIther a bazillion of ghouls rush for a machine and destroy it while you stand next to it and wont get any aggression from the mobs or a level 30 monster will spawn next to you and you instantly die - however you can just jump up a fence and kill the level 30 enemy from there because it will move next to you and stand there staring at you until it dies.
After having collected a lot of scrap and building kind of a base I became frustrated as well by this mechanic, as you can only use a fraction of the available blueprints and would have to grind to unlock more. So my base was up and running and had a decent defense set up - due to blueprint restrictions - when it got overwhelmed by a bazillion of level 30 monsters destroying everything in the base. When I figured out all my resources gained from two days of grinding scrap were gone, because destroyed base items are gone for good, this was it for me.
Not to talk about no storyline what so ever to guide the player across the wasteland.

The main story is a little lack luster but many of the side missions have had a phenomenal story line that really draws you in. The lack of choices and talking to characters just means you have to actually listen to the Holotapes and radio plots you find. I would argue this has been one of the better Fallouts and has been a blast to play with friends and randoms on the map. the movable camp adds a big feature that you did get in other games and gives you more versatility when doing missions and exploring. Overall this is a very solid game with some bugs and something Bethesda needs to work out which makes sense, since this was the first game like this in the series. I would 100% recommend buying if you like any of the other Fallouts and give it more than an hour of play time. EDIT: After a few more days of gameplay I have to edit my original review for the negative. The Devil's in the details and the details are bad.

-The communication options for players are poorly implemented. PTT is apparently in the works for PC, but you'll still hear EVERYTHING (eating snacks, dogs barking, pointless immersion breaking conversations) if you allow for server chat. if you don't there are a bunch of menus to dig through to enable it to talk to a player if you need to and you have to hope they have server chat enabled. Also no text for those requiring it (deaf and speech impediments for example).
-Moving through menus is inconsistent on PC (could be AD, ZC, or arrows depending on PipBoy, building, or crafting). This needs a PC interface option that takes a keyboard and mouse's capabilities into account. Modders did this perfectly with SkyUI and Skyrim.
-No way to rename. Renaming makes it easy to know what to keep and sell.
-Multiple power armor appears with the same name in the inventory so managing multiple suit s a nightmare.

TL;DR… Fallout ‘light’. Mixed bag at the moment that ultimately scratches the post-apocalyptic itch while leaving you confused as to the purpose of some product decisions. If you’ve played Fallout 4 there isn’t much here unless you are a die-hard must play them all fan.

    Good:
-Has enough ‘Fallout’ vibe to feel fallout-ish
-Storyline and (most) lore; yes it is there, but offered though holo-tapes (typically very well voice acted), terminals, robots, computer, etc.
-Additional build freedom for bases and flexibility in moving them.

    Bad:
Lore killing: BoS should not be in this game. This could have worked if it was the proto-BoS organization or something similar. They took name recognition over Lore continuity. Fallout has a single-player, story driven fan base. Did they really think that would just slide by?
-Still very buggy at launch. I had two PC lock-ups in three hours requiring hard reboots. Junk items floating in air, MOB’s respawning during a fight, corpses disappearing immediately after death, warping robo-vertibirds.
-At times it feels like too much like a Console-to-PC port.
-VATS just feels weird or acts like a cheat-to-hit button. I find myself not using it..

    Missing:
-NPC’s. I do not understand the design decision on this one. I find recently deceased farmers, raiders, etc., but no live ones. It makes the world feel utterly empty.
    -Push to Talk
-Text chat. This is not a pure run-and-gun FPS and there are a lot of players that use keyboard/mouse instead of controllers.
    -Frame rate freedom.

    Hope to never see:
-Creation Club cash-grabs. Keep the Atomic Shop vanity items only.

This game gets a lot of hate for many valid reasons, but after spending some 7 days playing it (solo and with friends), I have to say I've fallen in love with the game. It took some getting used to - because while it's similar to Fallout 4, the players are the ones in charge of the story narrative.

The premise is actually revolutionary when you look at it from a different perspective.

It took some getting used to - because while it's similar to Fallout 4, the players are the ones in charge of the story narrative.

The premise is actually revolutionary when you look at it from a different perspective. Here you are, coming out of the vault to an empty, cruel and unforgiving world, where most people have either died to the local wildlife (of which some are truly terrifying) or succumbed to the Scorch virus. As the player, you must discover what happened, where everyone went, then try to reclaim the wasteland for yourself and others from Vault 76. Apart from robots and the odd super mutant trader, you're all that's left.

You can band together with friends, or go it alone (both of which offer different and unique experiences). I prefer soloing for quests and general exploration, but band together with friends to roleplay and join in on events and general combat.

In terms of roleplay, it's actually quite clever. Because there are no NPCs in the world, it's down to the players to take on the role of the factions. My sister and I joined the Enclave, and after an amazing initiation questline (some seriously emotional journals to read), we worked up the ranks and donned our enclave armour. We then went around in the world, doing nefarious enclave business. Some players even messaged us, asking how to join up. We even had a spat with a few Brotherhood players and it was great fun.

The perk system carries over from Fallout 4, so the same builds you used there can be made in 76. This is great for those who know what they want to do and are familiar with the setup. Perk cards are a step up from the old system, and this affords you more choice in building your character and changing things on the fly. Some people might not like this, but I think it works better in a multiplayer format, so no grumbles from me.

Things that I feel need more work are as follows.

Base building: It's clunky and because the game is online, you have a limit on how much you can build. It's obvious the devs are trying out something new, and aren't entirely sure how to go about it. I'm confident they will learn and change things as time goes on. It's not game breaking, just a tad annoying.

Bugs: Oh boy, there are some humdingers in this game. While I myself find them quirky and hilarious (part of the fallout charm), others will not. Nothing game breaking has happened per se, but a few graphical errors have left my group of friends crying with laughter. The naked glitched power armour body being the main source of amusement.

Combat: It's clunky and no different from Fallout 4, except you now have server and connection issues to contend with. Most of the time I have no issues, but if a server is going mad, then rubberbanding is a thing. A quick server switch fixes this and I can only assume it happens because I'm in the wrong server for my area.

VATS: I miss the original slow motion vats, but this real-time version gets the job done. It's really the only option the Dev team had when faced with keeping VATS in for multiplayer.

Stash box: Similar to the build limit, we have a stash limit. The Devs need to work out a way for players to stash more loot, as its current system is too crippling on the player. I'm a hoarder and don't want to have to choose between a heavy gun or a new piece of power armour.

Factions: Faction events and wars would be great, especially if we also have unique ongoing missions to show a particular factions presence in the world. I hear they are planning something similar, so watch this space.

Despite its flaws, the game is fantastic fun to play. It feels just like a Fallout game, and not like an ESO copy. Those funny moments are still in there and its hard not to get caught up in the quest for rare armour/guns.

This is my honest review, everything included in this is my sole opinion, and doesn't in anyway express the general consensus. I enjoy the game and will continue to play it because it reminds me of the throwback days when games were just fun and didn't take themselves too seriously.

Oh, and on a side note, I've played plenty of MMO's and even with NPCS, they can feel empty at times. A soulless AI is just that. I like where the Devs are trying to go with this, filling it with actual living, breathing people. I just think they could've spent more time and money on using a new engine and testing it with a wide range of alpha testers. I hope they listen to feedback and consider how best to go forward.

You're supposed to be "Rebuilding America" in Fallout 76, but who are you rebuilding the world for? Because BGS has decided that no human NPCs will be in the game (thus eliminating the workload of building meaningful characters and a populated world), so are we rebuilding the world for our fellow Vault Dwellers? Probably not because they can build their own junk shacks. So... what's the point again?

I've played this game for just over 20 hours, and already the "main quest" is uninteresting and very predictable. It pains me to say it–because I love Fallout and have loved past BGS games–but this game is horrible. Yawwwn was how 76 left me feeling. Could not help thinking it felt like a multiplayer expansion of F4 but with no NPC's it just didn't feel like Fallout to me. I think half the trouble was that the map was too big and at times felt so sparse with the lack of interaction and the quests were soo boring. Shame, looks like we will have to wait for F5, will play through NV and F4 again in the meantime.

I was skeptical towards this game when Bethesda first announced it in E3. I was "are you sure you want to do this Bethesda?" and "are you sure you know how to do it?" and I was right. Controls are bad, animations are worse than FO4, huge delay when hitting enemies, no chat, NO NPCS (WTF!)... but also you keep the feeling of the huge potential this could have. Fallout 76 is....not for everyone. Fans of the series may well be very disappointed with what Fallout 76 has to offer as there is no real campaign to speak of. The lack of NPC's is also a problem for some people. At launch the game has been a buggy mess and has been prone to various problems in this regard. I enjoy the scavaging and building element and have played online with friends. This is where the real enjoyment can be found. I am hopeful that Bethesda will continue to improve this game over time like they did ESO. I would hazard a guess that the experience people have with this game right now will be much more positive in 6 months to a year down the line. Expand

Worst game i've ever spend money on,

Don't waste your money and encourage the Bethesda to create such games .

The engine and attitude to the gamers should change or i'd never buy any of their games anymore.

In its current state, yes. This is buggy but that seems to be normal business practice these days when it comes to releasing video games. With that said this is just an initial review.

The bugs are very apparent right now. Enemies standing in a "T" pose, fast traveling to my base to become trapped in the floor, some lag issues, inaccessible quest interactions (Looking at you, Fort Prickett). These issues are present but they don't ruin the experience but they can be fixed with regular patch updates.

The stash limit definitely needs to be increased. I feel I've spent too much time managing my items to make room for newer, better items rather than engaging in a new quest.

The world of Fallout 76 is intriguing and makes me want to uncover more about what happens here. It feels like a big murder mystery. The lack of human NPC's is not an issue with me. I would often skip dialogue in previous game just so I could start the quest quickly. Not having countless human inhabitants repeat the same line over and over again, much like a robot, in refreshing. Having actual robots repeating themselves makes more sense to me and helps me immerse myself this narrative.

The combat is good even with the revamped V.A.T.S. system. I find it almost as useful as it was in previous titles in the series.

The perks card system is easy to understand and actually makes you think about how you want play by limiting you 50 points total and 15 points total per stat in S.P.E.C.I.A.L. so you will have a weak area of expertise. You will find your role in this world.

I will admit that the beta should have been released earlier so we wouldn't have these issue currently. All in all it's a solid game that needs to iron out the wrinkles.

So utterly disappointing and flawed in every possible way… The first few hours, most of it can be ignored, and occasionally the flaws can be forgotten, but only briefly before they come storming back to the forefront. An awful, boring, empty, pointless experience. There is, however, a glimmer of hope. It's worth mentioning that there has already been a Bethesda title that was equally as unimpressive: The Elder Scrolls Online - but looking at it now, it has transformed into one of the best MMOs out there. There's always the hope the Fallout 76 develops the same way and becomes something special, but for now, that seems impossible. It's a world away from that.

Fallout 76 isn't your typical fallout experience. You don't have NPCs or dialogue, but instead get real players that should fill this void - that ultimately fails to do so. It does some things right, but as of now I cannot recommend getting this game as long as it stays a broken and boring mess that it is right now.

Fallout 76 is the series’ Freshman introduction into the world of online, multiplayer games. As a result, we are experiencing all of the awkwardness and clumsiness associated with that season of life. It is imperfect and a bit uncomfortable, but I see opportunity for Fallout 76 to be more than it presently it - to be a truly great, rich Fallout experience.
