Modern Warfare 3 ended in a most satisfying, and comforting way. After seeing the death of some of my favorite characters, I am very glad to see the ending work out the way it did. The campaign of this game did not add as much as Modern Warfare 2 had in it, but it was a most satisfying way to end the trilogy. It went beyond my expectations, but not nearly as close as any other Call of Duty game did. The multiplayer of the game is a different story. I generally hated the multiplayer which is why I did not get far in the online ranks of the game. This here was the turning point to my thoughts about Modern Warfare 3. To me, there were simply too many people that took the game more serious than it needed to be, especially for a war game. If they were playing Battlefield 3, I could see why they would be taking it seriously, it has much more fast paced action to it, a breath taking view of modern and urban war, and the detail to the game is tremendous. Especially the jets they put in it, but I am not here to review Battlefield 3, and this is not a comparison and contrast essay. I am here to review a game that did not amuse me in the multiplayer field as much as any other Call of Duty game did. I don't recommend the game that much to people who can't stand others who whine entirely like the game is real, and start using foul language, especially kids that should not be cussing at their age. - Collin

While some say its the same game as the last one, its decently enjoyable. The special ops survival and missions were nice. Probably the only thing I enjoyed. The campaign mode brings back respawning enemies and gives you an entire army in each room to kill. You have regenerating health, and a realistic amount of enemies to shoot would be too easy. As in any FPS game these days, you have a bunch of invincible teammates that do absolutely nothing unless in scripted events, and only die when the plot tells them to. Getting shot in the head during a cutscene kills them, but not two rockets to the face, a grenade, 78 knife slashes, and 17 bullets from a sniper rifle to the face(That is, if the game wouldn't give you a friendly fire warning. This statement about the cutscene applies to most FPS games these days.) Somehow, Only one Delta operator is capable of killing all the enemies. The rest just stand there shooting, getting stunned from the bullets, and shouting at you to get on the machinegun, do this, do that, do everything. Enemies seem to gang up on the player first, because if the player dies, game over. The player is the only mortal in a squad of immortals. And multiplayer? I found it boring. Expand

I don't get the hate of the series. It is what all video games are supposed to be, it is fun. When people say that this game is the same as MW2, I get that point, but that doesn't mean to have attitude like a preschooler. I like this game, but that doesn't mean I get bashed on like I did 9/11.

Coming from Modern Warfare 2 in 2009, i bought this game on release in 2011 which high expectations to finish the epic campaign and play online again. What i got was something less, but still good.

The story of Modern Warfare 2 ends with Soap killing General Shephard, but getting mortally wounded in the process. Modern Warfare 3 opens with you playing as Yuri, the most contrived protagonist i've played in many games, protecting Price and Soap somewhere from Makarov's goons. The way this mission is written feels incredibly ridiculous, but is just a prelude of what is still to come.

The campaign doubles down on over the top set pieces, visiting exotic locations and introducing last minute conveniences to the story. Seriously, why didn't they hire the writer of Modern Warfare 2? It seems as if the writer of this story took all the pieces from the first two games, jammed them in and decided to make them all meaningless in the large picture. World War 3 is a nonsensical joke, as Russia decides to invade Europe... because the president was kidnapped by terrorist? Chemical attacks against large cities, killing thousands of innocents?? That doesn't make any sense!

You also play as a Delta Team with characters that have no distinct personality other than: 'Russia is bad, America is good.' Their deaths felt pointless, and i was rather laughing as the game tried to make this scene epic. Nice try, but you failed.

To summarize the story: I was disappointed by the weak, predictable ending, last minute characters and overblown scenes. I would give the campaign a 6/10, it's average.

However, Modern Warfare 3 shines brighter in its multiplayer and survival mode! Multiplayer is a step up from Modern Warfare 2, offering a more balanced PvP mode with fun weapons (trying out different weapons doesn't feel like a punishment) and a weapon leveling system. Community modes like Infected and Drop Zone were my favorite, offering a competitive mode without kill streaks and fun objectives.

The survival mode Is my cup of tea, testing me harshly to find the best tactics to survive as long as possible while scoring points and playing with friends. Although i had to play the most of it with random people, i had a lot of fun with this mode. Beware of the epic juggernauts!

Even though the campaign was a let down for me, i did end up enjoying the multiplayer and survival mode a lot. All together, i consider MW3 a good game, worthy of a 7/10.

The campaign was incredible fun, nice level design (the only bad level was the one where the chase of the subway was). Lot of guns, nice characters. But lot of details i´ve hated.

So first of all... why Nikolai´s comrades in arms having Czech surnames instead of Russian ? Then why millitia in Africa has same weapons as a proffesional Russian army in New York ? They could definitely give them instead of modern versions of AKs the old rusted AKs and SMGs with wooden grips and etc. like the rusted 50.cal on pickup car.

Then, in MW2 i´ve complained about dog move animations.... now, millitia has for some reason Hyennas.. WHY? Why would someone take hyenna instead of dog for combat ?
In Paris there is Russian T72 tank with graphic model from MW1...
And Prague doesnt even close looks like Prague in real...
+ some nice easter eggs like TIME magazine where you can see Most Wanted Price and Soap on front page of magazine.

Well, in the end i cant go higher than 7/10.

It is a more raw game than other games in this series. In fact, there is no change between MW: 2. Even the story is made by collecting the stories of other games in this series. But I don't think it's disgraceful. It is a little exaggeration.

It actually played more like a checklist for a focus group. Sniper levels? Check. Vehicle sections? Check. "Controversial" moment? Check (poorly, I might add). The narrative lacks the focus, cohesion, professionalism, and sheen that the second game had (the watermark for the Modern Warfare franchise), and is over much, much too quickly. The levels are also something of an eyesore, with a nearly monochromatic color palate (save for a batch of welcome blue skies) and blurry, pixelated textures. In short, buy this game for its multiplayer, not for a satisfying conclusion to a series in whose characters you're invested. Expand

I think I liked this campaign better than the BF3 one because of those moments even though it is short. I played this on hardened and got through it in about 5 hours so that is sorta disappointing. Graphics wise MW3 doesn't disappoint but still they could have stepped it up after Battlefield. I think that also has to go with the sound grenades are the best example I died most in multiplayer because I could barely hear the grenade. Spec Ops is also back it has missions based around the story and a new survival mode which sees you fighting off waves of enemies and able to call in air support and but ammo, guns and grenades. It's nothing special but it will keep you occupied for a couple of hours. As always the longevity in COD comes from the multiplayer. Here is the downside with this game it is exactly the same 1 new mode some new weapons and exactly the same style. You may as well play MW2 because this just has a new skin attached. The new maps feel like copies also. Overall the MW3 provides a solid single player experience and very old multiplayer experience.

Story=7-Great moments but the story like the other games is way to confusing
Gameplay=7-This is a raw barebones shooter with fun gameplay but no depths
Overall=32/50-MW3 is now becoming a dated experience but provides some good fun.

And ofcourse, you get the insane amount of tent pitchers that only a CoD game can provide (not to mention the boosters). The campaign I did somewhat enjoy, despite the occasional unseen death, or magic phasing of bullets through the enemy. The story wasn't terrible, though, it pretty much plays like every CoD campaign before it. The saving grace of this game is in the co-op mode, which I've actually quite enjoyed. Survival mode can be fun when done with a friend. If you want to watch other good players' games to get tips, you're out of luck.

Call of Duty use to spark thoughts and conversations of a game that rivaled, if not out played Halo, in online multiplayer. It gave us many innovations and beefed up many others. Sadly Modern Warfare 3 is basically Modern Warfare 2 with 16 new maps, a few new killstreaks, modes, perks, and leveling mechanic. This may seem like a substantial amount of new content, but is it really worth $60? In my opinion Call of Duty has taken a turn onto the sports genre road. Theres a new one every year, with just a few new additions to warrant a new release. Now the Modern Warfare campaign for me was always just so-so. The huge set pieces and high octane action are straight out of a Bay film. But really the huge explosions and crazy action can't really hide the badly written, and sometimes confusing, story. Spec Ops was first introduced to us in Modern Warfare 2 and im glad to say its back. For me Spec Ops was more entertaing and rewarding playing with a friend, then raging at a other people online. They have also introduced a new mode, Survial, which isn't at all original, bascially a horde mode, where waves upon waves of enemies came at you. This mode is being implemented into almost every FPS now a days, its fun yes, but i would like to see something new for a change. The graphics haven't really changed much, if at all, from Modern Warfare 2. A quick glimpse at a screen with Modern Warfare 3, could easily be mistaken for its older counterpart. The soundtrack is nothing to special, but it does have its moments. There are many rehashed noises when firing guns, reloading, etc. but thats to be expected. Overall this addition to the Call of Duty franchise feels more like a shallow expansion than a full fledged game. Activision is going to end up running Call of Duty into the ground with these yearly outings (Guitar Hero/Tony Hawk), hopefully upcoming entries into the franchise can make a fresh start into something that has become very stale in the past years. The campaign is over quickly. It has some fun moments, but it's so on rails it could be a Kinect game with very little tweaking.

The online is the true disappointment. The netcode performs poorly under the best conditions, and the best conditions occur very rarely. The peer to peer network system, coupled with the poor netcode and matchmaking, make the online multiplayer a game of chance rather than skill. It really just boils down to who has the lag advantage.

It's my opinion that releasing these games yearly isn't terrible in and of itself, but Activision has no appreciation for its fanbase, and they just under deliver over and over again, praying that their over the top marketing will net them the sales they want.

These reviews of 0 are quite ridiculous, but so are the 9 and 10 reviews. The game contains a lot of content for your $60, but not one piece of that content is anything more than mediocre.

I was hoping this game would prove me wrong. I was hoping MW3 would bring a lot of new features in the same way Black Ops did. Unfortunately a few tweaks here and there, a new gameplay mode, and the same game engine aren't going to cut it. The multiplayer is still fun, but that's not enough anymore. I'm hoping IW is working on a new engine.

I'm rather ashamed of having done this, and wanted to put things more on the level.

To take another look at this game, its certainly nothing special. While the Campaign of COD 4 was largely praised for its characters and setting. Its difficult to say the same here, simply playing along with the same recipe that just feels rather dated now, given its lack of change. But multiplayer is the main reason most are brought to Call of Duty, and it at seems a little more balanced in its gunplay following patches, something not shared by its predecessor. However, other issues quickly come to light. Odd choices such as the changes from Killstreaks to score streaks raise a number of issues. One such example is the stealth bomber, which can be earned quiet easily, due to being placed in the "support" section, meaning that the kills to obtain it compile even after death. This makes the bomber appear far to regularly, which is also far too offensive for its support namesake on many of the maps. Which brings me to another huge issue, the maps. Graphically their all rather unimpressive, largely just a series of drab, darkly hued buildings or rubble. Those that aren't marred by this issue instead of horrendous and unmemorable layouts that just don't live up to the experiences had on many of MW2's maps, such as "Afghan." When the maps are as bad as they are, its difficult to praise MW3's multiplayer at all.

Other than these points, the rest is largely standard fair, with a few new options to keep you busy. The cooperative spec ops mode adds a little more longevity with its survival and mission modes, but it feels rather tacked on given that it can only be played with two players, a particularly noticeable omission in the uninspired survival mode.

And that's all there really is to say. Its not particularly superior or inferior to other titles in the series. If you enjoyed them and want more, it'll largely give you what your after, but if you've always disliked the series, this certainly wont change that.

To give a score of 0 to this because of the similarity to previous incarnations is childish to say the least. It is MW, if you liked 2 then you'll like this, simple. It is still a great game, easy to pick up and play, the new maps are very much in favour of the running around like a headless chicken variety, so tactically, your options are very limited, but as a way to waste an hour or so with some mindless carnage, it certainly delivers.

    My Gripes:

-The maps are uninspired and too small in comparison to previous installments. Sniping should be pretty much overlooked.

-The control sensitivity is not precise enough. At the lowest setting, I can barely turn my view. Just an adjustment above that and it's extremely sensitive, making it hard to aim. I never had this problem on MW2 or Black Ops. There definately needs to be some fine tuning.

-Running around feels as though I'm skating on ice. Never got this feeling in the older games.

-Character models look too similar. At one point, I'm running around in a map where both my teammates and enemies are wearing grey uniforms that look nearly identical.

The game definitely feels like a poorly done DLC and I'm already wanting to sell it and put the money toward Skyrim. I've been playing CoD for years now and I always found it to be a superior game to Battlefield, until now. Go buy that instead if you want a great multiplayer experience.

MW3 feels like a rehashed MW2. I am sorry for the people giving this a 10. I hope it's on the single player because multi player is horrible. Sure there is a lot of detail given in design but 75% of the maps are too small. Most of the maps don't allow for multiple roles (sniper , support, assault) as they are all run and gun being so small.

They even made the game easier by giving some of the old perks as gun stats. Assault rifles now have FMJ and 2 Weapon Attachments as a gun stat rather than a Perk slot.

However, they did do a few things right. Making Blast Shield not lose your vision like they did in MW2 so people can now avoid grenade spam and noob tube better. Also, I do like how they separated out the kill streaks into 3 catagories.

But overall I feel like this is a reskinned MW2. Most of the titles are the same as are the emblems and achievements. There are slight improvements to graphics. And hacks for MW2 work in MW3 so they were there the very first day.

This is a PC review. I liked the single player campaign in MW2 and a friend of mine who did the campaign said he liked it. I'll probably enjoy it as well.

Also co-op is a joke as it's a kill waves of enemies survival. The MW2 co-op was 1000x better.

The game is linear and while I accept that a lot of great games are heading down this linear route, the difference is that in a good game the story drives the game along, it's part of the set pieces and both co-exist. MW3 is basically set pieces interrupted by action film clichés and drivel. The multiplayer is as frantic and fun as ever and while this is the games saving grace, it's not enough to erase the disappointing single player from my memory.

Spec Ops is Modern Warfare 3's strong point. Survival mode is probably the best addition to modern warfare since the franchise started, and while many people say it's "copying" GOW or Zombies, it's still fun! They took a few things from those games and made a fun mode out of it. The missions are what you'd expect, exactly like the modern warfare 2 ones, but they're fun enough to not drag down Survival.

Multiplayer is a failure. Unfortunately it seems that Sledgehammer couldn't develop their own game. They took so many elements from Modern Warfare 2 that it seems that multiplayer is just a bad DLC for MW2. The maps are flat, boring, and encourage sprinting-and-shooting that turned off many gamers from MW2. The guns are well balanced and although Assault Rifles yet again dominate the battlefield, they offer enough variety to be tolerable. Overall, MW3 isn't much to get hyped over, and definitely doesn't deserve it's record-setting performance, but it is a COD game, and no COD is complete without SOME way of stealing hours.

    Cons:

    1) The lag is worse than ever. More than any game I have every played, your performance is directly related to your internet connection. This is the biggest letdown of the entire COD series. It's very frustrating hitting an enemy with half a magazine only to have them stop, turn, aim, and shoot with a pistol and kill you with one shot, then have the killcam show you never even fired.

    2) The spawn points are ridiculous. Just like MW2, you constantly spawn in front of an enemy, away from your team, only to get shot immediately. Why can Treyarch get this right and Infinity or Sledgehammer or who ever the heck can't?

    3) Speaking of not getting it right, what is the deal with quick scoping sniper rifles? Treyarch did a decent job of controlling this but the quick scoping idiots are back in full force in MW3. That had to be one of the 3 biggest complaints about MW2 and COD 4 and they still can't fix it? A sniper rifle is supposed to be a sniper rifle, not a close range single shot kill shotgun. Absolutely unacceptable.

    4) Campaign is utterly forgettable. I remember what an intriguing and amazing campaign COD 4 had, but apparently Infinity shot their load with that one installment because the last two Modern Warfare campaigns have been a monumental waste of time.

    5) Spec Ops mode is ok to play through once but there is no replay value what so ever. I found myself playing Black Ops zombies incessently because it was a ton of fun and always interesting. Plus you could play it online with 3 other people which always makes it interesting.

Overall I would give MW3 a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. But multiplayer is the only reason to own this game. Black Ops is cleary the superior game in all regards. Treyarch is now the premier studio under the Activision umbrella.

And as for Battlefield 3, nice try EA. Call of Duty killer? Not even close and not even worth a review.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Being a Call of Duty fan since Activision release Call of Duty: Finest Hour, I can say that Modern Warfare 3 disappointed me. I thought it bring back the glory of Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2, but it didn't pan out that way. For starters, it really irked me that they killed off Soap after he just survived a knife to the chest, I would have rather it have been Price and Soap finishing off Makarov then Price and the useless character Yuri, who dies at the end anyways. The multiplayer is teeter totters between horrible and good, its not unplayable but the game lacks the gun game Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games kept badgering at. The player speed even with extreme conditioning is really slow, I don't even think that any of the previous Call of Duty titles were as slow as this game. Being as slow as it is, the guns can kill you faster than a speeding bullet. I would be fine with the guns being as powerful as they are if it wasn't for the lack of speed where you can't escape the gun fire. The multiplayer maps are by far the worst i have seen in a Call of Duty game, they are claustrophobic and leave little room to maneuver. The one shining light is that the spec ops is impeccable. The missions are pretty varied and fun with a friend and the survival mode is also enjoyable although i don't know why the developers wouldn't have made it four players instead of two. While this game isn't bad, it could have been great, instead you get a game that tries to be what the original Call of Duty 4 was except that it failed by using small and cramped maps and slow movement. What have they been doing with all the money they have made over the years. I'll even agree with Activision even to keep their game winning formula but give the fans like me better graphics and sound to give me a reason to pay $60 for their game. I don't care what anybody says about graphics and sound, these are helpful in immersing the player in game-play which is fact. Try playing a game with either no graphics or sound and it will suck no matter what video game it is. I use to love MW2 2 years ago but now they are just a cash cow. I would give them a better score if they had a better campaign story land Al like HALO or they improved the graphics and sound to give a better gunfight experience. Infinity Ward accomplished everything they had hoped to in their own mind, but the final product falls short in the eyes of a true FPS gamer. The thing is, when you combine the elements of two best-selling games, the distinctiveness tends to get a wee bit diluted. I'm not going to go as far as saying that this is a bad game because it isn't. But it is a forgettable game, the likes of which hasn't been seen in the CoD series in quite some time. Overall good game but the multiplayer level design is garbage. Rehashed core design of mw2 maps only they aren't fun this time around. I'm going to give my flat out opinion with no agenda in mind. The reviews giving this game under a 3 are unrealistic. On the other hand, the reviews giving this game a 8-10 are just as absurd. I held out on purchasing this game for a week. I just had a "bad" feeling about it and watching videos of game footage didn't reveal anything that made it a must have. I finally cracked because II'm going to give my flat out opinion with no agenda in mind. The reviews giving this game under a 3 are unrealistic. On the other hand, the reviews giving this game a 8-10 are just as absurd. I held out on purchasing this game for a week. I just had a "bad" feeling about it and watching videos of game footage didn't reveal anything that made it a must have. I finally cracked because I wanted to play a game with my friends. I haven't finished campaign but I don't have any real complaints other than stories that get a little too ambitious. I really miss the beautiful simplicity and seemingly realistic conflict that COD4 offered. MW3 multiplayer is where this game really shows its true colors. The graphics are on par with the last 3 COD games. Nothing looks any better and it has a cartoonish feel to it that just doesn't seem right. In fact, the entire multiplayer experience feels like a comic book. I can't explain it but it just feels juvenile. Next is the sound. The weapons in this game sound like airsoft or some pop gun battles. Is my weapon suppressed? I can't tell because regardless they all just seem to push air. My Turtle Beaches are useless. This is by far the worst selection of maps I have played in a COD game. The maps are all tiny CQB cluster messes. I love small tight maps but don't prefer it every game. Variety is the spice of life.

From the guns, to killstreaks and other things, I just don't see 2 years worth of work. This is really a rehash of MW2 (and not even an improvement). I didn't think the IW staff reshuffle would have any effect but it seems that it did. I am very disappointed in myself for giving in and purchasing such a mediocre game for COD standards. I feel like I was taken advantage of and payed for a game off of pedigree and bloodline alone. This game is not worthy of the COD name and not worthy to deserve my time or money. This is a prime example of a company pushing mediocre products because they know millions will by it simply because of the name.

At the end of the day I'm going to finish campaign, play a little more MP and probably trade this in. It's a bad nightmare I'm going to try and forget. I'll stick with the games that innovated and set the standard (COD4 and MW2). This is just such a disappointment and I don't know what else to say. Mediocre at best.

Spec Ops Survival - Infinity Ward's version of zombies - actually fun and refreshing albeit shallow
Multiplayer - Some complain about MW3 being a $60 expansion pack but I disagree. There is genuine innovation here with the point-streaks. As far as familiarity goes, this is CoD and the Multiplayer is still fun - though some people may have expected more.

Singleplayer - The Third World War was boring.
While the multiplayer is replayable, I can't change my experience with the Singleplayer. I did not enjoy the singleplayer and I honestly hope MW3's storyline is removed from cannon. It wasn't interesting, innovative, or particularly fun.

Every year, a new one is released, destroying all of the sales records the previous ones established. The first COD that brought on this sequence was Modern Warfare, way back in 2007. For the first MW, there were no troll wars, there was no hatred between different camps of gamers. MW was revered for its incredible campaign and, excuse the pun. game-changing multiplayer. Fast forward to 2011. The sequence continues. MW3 sold 6.5 billion in 3 days. Yet it has one of the lowest user scores on metacritic there are. What happened, what changed? Well, to say the least, nothing changed. MW3 is still the same shooter as the original 4 years ago, but with a much worse single-player campaign (3 hours, and that's a generous estimate) and a much bigger emphasis on multiplayer. With the huge emphasis on multiplayer, it ought to have improved significantly from year to year, yet the changes the games receive each year are so minute that most don't know anything was changed. Other than COD Elite, I really can't see much of difference between this, Black-Ops and MW2. At least Black-Ops had a decent length story, even if it was a little convoluted. Graphically speaking, this game looks pretty good. However, so did Black-Ops and MW2. In fact, they look very similar... Maybe its just me, but there hasn't been all that much improvement in the series. If I wanted the same old game I've been playing forever I would've never bought a new one. As far as controls go, this is Call of Duty. No innovations have been introduced here; if you've played any of the other generic shooters in the past 4 years you'll know how to play this game all right. In conclusion, Modern Warfare 3 is a fun game, until you realize that it is the same game you've been playing for 5 years. The lack of innovations has really started taking it's toll on the patience of consumers, as shown by its current user score. With games finally breaking into the mainstream culture as something regular people do, COD has become the generic war movie. Sure, it will sell huge numbers, but it won't be remembered as one of the greats. With so many huge games out this fall that are huge improvements on their predecessors, such as Skyrim, Uncharted 3, , I would suggest buying something else instead of this. If you need to play COD, just keep playing Black-Ops. We all know you have it. Expand

Well @ least I loved it, more so than the second one anyway. Not much to say about the gameplay, only difference is the addition of "dual sights" allowing the player the use of a more close-range sight like a holographic sight & a longer range option like an ACOG for enemies that are further out on the battlefield. While the game looks pretty good & is very fluid, what in the he'll happened to the sound!?!? It's completely unrealistic & "muted" I hateto be one of "those guys" but Battlefield got it right. I remember the first fire fight because I had my sound turned up to hear the voices & then all of a sudden the **** hit the fan & the gunfire was loud & the bass thumped hard! I'd unload my magazine after I killed te enemy in front of me just to hear/feel the gunfire & enjoy tue experience the only way it can be enjoyed, in a virtual environment. In MW3, you can always hear voices extra loud over really muted gunfire.. Ok enough about that. Multiplayer. It's got it's strengths & weaknesses which basically boil down to your preference in franchises. If you LOVE COD chances are your mind will be closed to what Battlefield has to offer that's fun & engaging. Not to say that MW3 isn't fun in it's own right. Between the perks, fast level-ups & modes of gameplay it's pretty fun. Kill confirmed is an excellent example of this, that is my favorite mode of play, but there are numerous others. Sorry can't speak to what COD Elite has to offer, but from what I've been hearing about it, I think it's kind of funny that people are so upset by EA's decision to make people who buy the game (Battlefield 3) pay $15 to play online. @ least everyone's on the same playing field once they buy in & don't have to contend w/ goofballs who are willing to shell out another $50/yr for maps & added perks/advantages.

The biggest problem I have with this game is the lack of innovation with every consecutive game. Cod is a winning formula but it's being copy and pasted (literally) and the game is still very addictive but you'll get burned out really easy after a few hours. The second problem is with the maps. It's a massive maze of junk and buildings with no "flow" in any of them. This leads to lots and lots of campers killing you instead of actually having a good gun battle. I also miss the customization there was in black ops, the call of duty elite website allows you to look at the same stats but now it's not in the game. A few minor annoyances I have are how long flash bangs blind and stun you, it's about 5 seconds which feels like an eternity. Also there are very few maps for sniping because the layout is up close and maze-like which doesn't allow you any distance. The biggest plus I have with this game is the gun-balance. I feel like there's not one gun that is overpowered or underpowered. I also like how you have 80 levels to prestige and gold gun camo is based on how much you use that gun. All in all I'd give the multiplayer experience a 6. Its addictive and fun but you'll burn out quick. It isHello fellow gamers. Today I will give all you gamers a completely honest review of the game Modern Warfare 3. I will give you my approximate game time in each mode to help you decide if you want this game. First off I want to say that the campaign is preatty good although very short and feels like more missions to mw2, (this could be good or bad depending on whether you liked mw2). It is highly cinematic and very intense. The high intensity and the fairly good story is great but the fact that it only took me four and a half hours to complete it is preatty terrible. Now time for the spec ops. The missions in this game are kind of dissapointing to me. Where as in mw2 you had to earn a certain amount of stars to unlock the next set of missions, mw3 allows you to unlock them through levelling up your spec ops rank. This wouldn't be too bad but you unlock all the missions while you are still a fairly low level. The survival mode is better then the missions, however it is still no zombies. In total I spent around 8 hours with the spec ops mode. Now on to the main selling factor... Multiplayer. First off I think it is very impressive how infinity ward included 15-16 maps. The multiplayer in this game is feels very recycled. The main thing in this game that makes it feel fresh is the new strike packages. I also found it fun to level up in this game because there is so much to unlock. However after you have seen all there is to unlock I found I didnt really have much to do any more because just playing for the fun after you have seen the unlock feels highly boring because it feels just like mw2 which I played the heck out of. I have roughly 30 hours on this multiplayer component. My verdict is that if you have owned past call of duty's and played them a lot then you might want to stay out of this one and pick up a more quality release like battlefield 3 uncharted 3 or skyrim. On the other hand if you have never owned a call of duty before now is the perfect chance and this game will give you more enjoyment then past call of duty's. I would give this game around a four or five if you own past cod's and a solid eight if you havn't there fore decideing to give it a six. :D Expand

Some, like Infinity Ward, believe their MP sucess comes from updating the MultiPlayer Scene every year. This is WRONG. The one thing that severly collapses this game is the lack of flaking routes, leading to extremely defensive gameplay, extremely long sight lines except for a few maps ( People being a douche with an ACR camping their buttocks off ), and the godawful spawning system. In this sense it is the WORST game in the seires. However, This can also be described as the BEST game of the series. The weapon, perk, proficency, and equipment balance seems to have been extremely stressed. The proficiencies have made unpopular or unusuable weapons quite effictive. I also like the new sounds despite the Deagles wimpy sound. The addition of Survival mode has made the co-op section of MW3 compete with Black Ops's Zombies. The SP is decent and will provide a good 4 hours of challenging fun. I felt that CoD4's SP was better, but the last mission of MW3 was a stumper and added a strong closing to the Modern Warfare Series. To me, both quanitity and quality were in mind with this game. New modes, more weapons to tinker with, and will certainly fill your appitite for newness, at least until the DLC comes around. However, I still feel they went overboard on quality and quantity of content (other than maps) and dragged the maps behind. This game is my grandmother stuffing bittersweet chocolate into my mouth. I had to get his game since MW2 was the first PS3 game I got and I own Black Ops. The multiplier is fun but gets redundant after a month of playing. The game is too western for me, WW3 a fight with Americans, Europe and Russia? it sounds alot like ww2 but set in the modern era. Seriously where is China??? the second most powerful country in the world, if there is a ww3 than certainly China would have a part to play. The multiplayer is just basically the same formula from mw2 with changes for balancing issues but I did feel infinite ward got lazy with this title and just rehash everything from the previous mw2 and change the 2 to a 3 just so they can release another game. But nonetheless they got what they wanted, the number one largest entertainment launch in history once again. It's amazing how much money a company can make once they get the formula for an addictive game play down, at the same time it's also pretty sad. As long as their making this much money I doubt they'll change much in any future call of duty games so I am pretty sure this will be my last call of duty game. Expand

The game sticks to the good ol MW formula. Flat campaign filled with Michael Bay explosions, fun multiplayer and somewhat enjoyable survival, which is a failed attempt to cash out on CoD zombies, and a Spec ops. It just feels like an expansion to MW2, and that's where it fails. It's enjoyable, but feels old.

It's multiplier gameplay falls short but this installment serves up the excitement and hype surrounding it. It's campaign is definitely flawed, but still passes. The main concern, however, is the lack of co-ops which causes this game to be more of a temporary delight that a long-term game to be played.

If we take MW3 as a game of its own, it is an excellent game.

In story MW3 takes the cake. The multiplayer is very fun and much better than the mess that was Black Ops. It has some new modes that are a blast

The multiplayer is very fun and much better than the mess that was Black Ops. It has some new modes that are a blast to play, me and my friends always had a great time playing Infected, Money in the Denk for example. But it is very similar to MW2, and here goes the flaws of MW3.

While MW2 was an improvement from CoD4, MW3 it's MW2 all over again. The multiplayer is almost the same; the graphics, weapons, maps, there's really nothing that stands out from previous CoDs. And MW2's multiplayer is much more fun.

Spec Ops are nothing amazing, and it could get tiring after sometime. Survival is a bad rip-off from Zombies, and it doesn't have anything incredible to show.

I'd only recommend this game if you want to get into CoD and you find this at a reasonable price. If you own MW2, play that one a little more and it'll be like MW3.

All in all, is more like a disappointing game than a bad game.

There are 16 maps, all of them don't feel varied enough like other CoD games. They all felt like close-quarter chaos. There aren't even dedicated ranked servers, that is pathetic when other shooters pull that off with less revenue. There's a tangible insistence from gamers that this series needs to evolve, but it seems unwarranted when it still leads the FPS class.
