    Pre-ordered upon announcement based on my long love of all things Warcraft and the apparent strength of the remaster as shown in the footage. Severely disappointed by Blizzard for what they released - a marginally graphically upscaled version of the original game with some of the original content missing, and some cosmetics that you can only use in custom games.     I was at BlizzCon when this game was announced and have been counting the days until its release ever since. Sadly what launched even after endless delays has been nothing short of a disaster. The game has ranged from a buggy mess to crashing upon launch.     Blizzard has been banning people for talking about how to get refunds, people who didn't even want the game are being forced onto a client that they didn't even pay for and losing tons of old features as a result, maps are immediately ending in defeat upon launch, and the list goes on and on and on.

    Sadly the main things I was looking forward have all been gotten. There is no longer 4+ hours of new cinematics, much of the improved storyline has been gutted, I thought that the pre-rendered cutscenes were being redone but nope, and even the quality of the in-game movies has been massively downgraded from what they showed off at BlizzCon.

    It's an unmitigated disaster. 0/10 would not recommend.    … Expand

    I'm really sick and tired of companies like blizzard wanting to save money by releasing unfinished products and relying on users who bought their game to report extremely serious bugs and errors. And even if they did releasing something not finished as ready it's extremely unethical, you could just sell it as beta until it gets to a stable state and no one would complain)

    Leaving that aside, everyone knows by now the problems this game has: not being the product that was promoted, having to start matches several times to be able to play (both offline campaign AND custom games), not having a ladder system, only remastering the intro video (seriously?) and basically deleting a lot of good features of the old game, wich by the way, you can't play anymore since this one replaced it. Oh, and blizzard owns any map you make now, wich probably means bye bye to any good custom map from now on, so that's pretty much dead now

    I really hope this game gets to a playable state soon, but even if it does I'm never buying a blizzard product again before it's release, not even a Warcraft IV (if it ever comes out), wich has been something that I wanted for years. I'l wait some months to see if what they are selling is playable

    Game doesn’t even come close to what they promised on blizzcon 2018, they promised almost a new game, with tons of added cinematics and fully upgraded graphics but actually it’s just a bunch revamped character models, I barely see any difference between old 2002 and the new reforged terrain, new models become awkward sitting on top of the old 2002 graphics, it feels like just a half-doneGame doesn’t even come close to what they promised on blizzcon 2018, they promised almost a new game, with tons of added cinematics and fully upgraded graphics but actually it’s just a bunch revamped character models, I barely see any difference between old 2002 and the new reforged terrain, new models become awkward sitting on top of the old 2002 graphics, it feels like just a half-done job to grab some money since they are charging almost what a new game nowadays cost. They imposed intellectual property over any mod made using their platform, so they could milk more any players that is doing something to make the game better.. a Along with that, they removed some features from the old game and forced the old client to update to a “reforged lite” version of this, killing the joy from from those still playing the original Reign of Chaos and The Frozen thrne… Expand

    I give it up to blizzard for handling the games Graphics of this game. But the cut scenes and some talking the audio gets muted for some reason it cuts off and I been getting some crashes. One of them my computer made this loud noise and the whole screen froze hard and had to restart my computer and lost progress. I dont recommend this game at the state it is in now.. I'm disappointed.     Let's just say that the game is absolute trash now. they ruined the legacy of Warcraft as a whole. broken online features, Broken campaign, most of the custom maps if not all of them are no longer working. and i can't use the normal game anymore. when asking for a refund on blizzard they basically just gave me a ban and yea just don't get the game till it's fixed

    I haven't bought this game, but I am a victim of the merge of classic and reforged. The game runs horribly and many features the old client had is not present in the new game. It is unacceptable to destroy a product we already owned and force us into buying their garbage. To make matters worse, Blizzcon 2018 was just a big fat lie.     I prepaid W3 Reforged at 2018's Blizzcon in the moment when this 'suprise' was announced. And what we see now: main menu is a Chrome web site? Slow and freezing? Are you kidding me? This is a shame Blizzard, refund my moneys now.

L'IA ? Plus débile que jamais. Une interface désuète à souhait, aussi bien en détails qu'en encombrement ( 1/3 de l'écran bouffé pour quelques touches de fonctions ... )    Un désastre !

    The game is not working..

    I can not create and play againts a computer. When i select a compputer bot it takes me back to the
    main menu.

    Also very low FPS.

    Yea, its true, reforged is hot garbage not worth $30. So at the very least let us play the WC3 version from 18 years ago if we don't want to play Reforged. You promised 'crossplay' between both versions but instead you forced everyone on the same client. disgusting.

    DO. NOT. BUY.
    if you did, they offer automatic refunds now because of the sheer volume :)

Even if you are capable of playing online because of all the technical issues, there's no point to because there's no Ladder system. I could go on with so many other complaints but I think my point has been made. Have already requested and been approved for my refunded.

    But with the 'shadow' update to original WC3 guess I'll only be playing single player for the rest of eternity.    … Expand

    Blizzard did it again, they promised too much and sold us BS, even used our nostalgia and feelings to encourage us to pre-order denying refunds afterwards, as expected of RTS developers (even if they did nothing).
    Thank God I got my refund.

    This is sooo so bad. I could not stress it enough of how this is. It's a mockery to blizzard lovers and users worldwide. I sticked to Blizzard in good and bad times but this is just offensive to our intelligence. "Reworking" some champs does not justify 40 euros. Where are the other features Blizzard? Why did you have to ruin this as well after WoW. Such a disgrace

    Отличный ремастер, графика в 4к просто супер, жаль что плохо идет на старых компах, но комон 2020 год, мне тоже пришлось новую купить видяху, чтобы все игры тянуло.     There are that many problems with this game, that its a complete downgrade and even trying to play the game offline so I could try play the campaign, the game fails and crashes because the game client needs parts of the internet to run. How bad is that. At least I got a refund, one of the lucky ones.

    One of the worst remastered blizzard has to offer. The company we know that created starcraft Warcraft wow diable 2 is gone since Activision got involved. So freaking sad that their games get worse and worse. Unbelievable

    Somehow worse than a game that came out almost 20 years ago. All it needed was a widescreen patch and a hotkey editor. Instead, years (and presumably hundreds of thousands of dollars) were spent to break multiple features and make the game uglier. Next time, just go for the lazy cash grab, since that's apparently all Blizzard can manage anymore.

I couldn't see my profile, I didn't see any clans, the chat UI was horrendous, the list goes on.     Absolute Garbage... This is a cash grab. Don't buy this. Doesn't have the Blizzard polish. This stinks of Activision. Both cutscenes and in-game graphics are **** and not the same fidelity as advertised.

The UI interface is probably OK in mid 2000s, but it is just so bad in today's standard. There are multiple bugs which straight up pops up 'defeat' when a campaign mission is started. Playing online comes with huge lags around 400-500ms. The dialogs are plagued with random texts and atrocious Chinese translations. Kel'thuzad, the name of an in-game major character has his name translated to 克里苏加狗, which literally means Kel'thu-dog. The sentence: "This sword is cursed" is translated to something meaning "this sword is sexually violated by an elephant". Although funny, these obvious errors hints that blizzard probably uses some bots to do the work to cut budgets. I would like to know how other non-english translations work out. WTF blizzard, how can you even consider releasing this thing when this is obviously not a complete product.

    I literally made a Metacritic account just to tell you that this game is terrible. Please do not make the mistake most of us did and buy this game, it's terrible. It's such a downgrade it's actually disgusting.

    The only good part are the new models and graphics, but those don't make up a game. Seriously, do NOT buy this, just pirate the old bnet version.

I still enjoy Warcraft 3 from time to time even to this day and have been playing since its first year of release. I launched my war3.exe like I normally do, saw an update and thought, sure no problem I'll wait. THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE. I had no idea Reforged release was actually going to entirely compromise existing game directory. Not only this, but I kept war3 on a smaller spare SSD, the update didn't even check free space and proceeded to wedge the drive forcing a reinstall. This is not just an update, even if it works, the old game client is literally now deprecated. Another way to word this: selecting update changes your game entirely, you are auto opted-in to battle.net / Reforged. No, they couldn't just leave it alone and release a separate game rebuilt in a new and/or better engine. This is worse than a really bad 2nd to a great original movie.
    I will be reinstalling offline from original CDs and/or installers saved from 2015.    … Expand

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
