    First time ever posting a review for a game but I felt compelled to after blizzard butchered, flayed, raped, and left my childhood for dead in a ditch. Flat out lied to an entire community about what we were getting and even gave it to us past the deadline lol. Can’t even play custom games with friends online unless you happen to randomly be in the same server.     My only activity with my cousin that's on another side of the world was to play the old warcraft3. We can't do that anymore. They created garbage and also ruined the old game.

    Glitchy, buggy, and not what we were promised. Blizzard cut certain features they had promised and kept our money hoping that we wouldn't notice. They lied to us. To make matters worse, you can't use the old client anymore. After HK, DI, HotS, and so much more, this is actually the last straw.

    So if you bought warcraft 3 RoC and TFT over a decade ago. You cannot play the classic series anymore. Blizzard is FORCING this downgrade on you. Tbh, I just liked the game. Im not looking for a realistic VR experience here.
    Stop shoving this trash on your customers who never wanted reforged in the first place!

    An even bigger disappointment than season 8 of GoT. I was expecting an online ladder, that is completely gone now, you can't even play ladder games on the classic version of the game. The optimisation is still at beta level, really terrible, and I can't even join a match without it getting stuck half the time, often having to restart the game and try again. Refunded.

    It's a damn shame. This game does not deserve a 0 on itself, but the fact that you manage to *reforge* an incredible game into this below average mess it's stupid as hell. Nice one Blizz.

    Broken Promises, buggy on release. everything seemed to be the same from the original warcraft 3. nothing seems to be different apart from a few cutscenes. overall a disappointing game that I would not recommend even for nostalgia purposes.

    My childhood's favorite game has been used for a money grab. Can't even play on old server, we are forced to buy this mediocre product. It is literally a scam. Utterly disapointed.

    People here rating 0 are trolls. Even if rereleased same game its still an amazing game. I'm enjoying it and had no problems. Yes we didn't get what was promised but w.e. it happens. Still a great game.

    With all the things Blizzard activation pulled, mobile game, call of duty, stop e-sport. Now, one of the greatest game of gaming history. All the promises, they can just ignore like nothing.

    I completely lost faith in Blizzard.

    Ive been playing blizz games for over 10 years. I first started when the first diablo and warcraft 2 came out. Im disappointed beyond belief. The game is a big pile of crap considering what they had mentioned would be in the game. Even if you disregarded what was promised and not followed through on, the game is bad. From buggy interface, to disconnecting from the game, to no ladder, toIve been playing blizz games for over 10 years. I first started when the first diablo and warcraft 2 came out. Blizzard destroyed the game, made unplayable graphics for competitive players (you can't say which units are yours in fights....), lot of bugs (colours of certain units changing in game...), campaign is not remade at all (they lied at blizzcon)...

    Да, есть ретекстур, да, есть озвучка, но ничего необычно нового, за что можно было бы отдать 1400 ребелсов - просто нет. Если оценивать игру без отсылок на варкравт 3 классик - то можно было бы и 6-7 поставить, с заделом на будущее, но невозможно оценивать варик 3 без отсылок на варик 3Да, есть ретекстур, да, есть озвучка, но ничего необычно нового, за что можно было бы отдать 1400 ребелсов - просто нет.     The state of the game is abysmal. I had beta since the end of September, and it was unplayable for me 95% the time, as it constantly de-synced the matches.     I literally can't get past Chapter 6 for the Humans (The Culling) because the damn thing won't load.
    It just mutes all sounds, and writes a system message "Joining Local Game" ... and that's it. It's the same error I was getting during the beta testing. And these 2 things (online PvP and local PvE) should be unrelated to one another ...

    This is a **** ... absolutely disgusting ...

Instead, bnet for WC3 was shut down and any and all legal ways of downloading it have been taken down. Now comparing the three* editions, the classic WC3,    I have never seen such a gross display of pure incompetence.

    Most of the 0s its been getting is because the original game got effectively killed off, while everyone expected the classic WC3 to be only updated with Bnet 2.0 support. Instead, bnet for WC3 was shut down and any and all legal ways of downloading it have been taken down.
    Now comparing the three* editions, the classic WC3, and reforged in SD and HD modes we come to see vast differences in feature sets, stability, design cohesion and performance.

    Firstly, the performance is as expected, lower in reforged than the classic, but the problem is that very little fps is gained by switching between SD and HD modes. Visual style of the SD reforged looks visibly worse than the classic due to the under the hood changes and it produces significantly more graphical errors and glitches in SD mode. Custom models rarely function without issues.

    Second, feature sets. at the moment, classic edition is the most feature rich one due to having ladders, access to custom campaigns (yes you cant run custom campaigns in reforged), LAN support (which was removed for whatever vague reason they have) and most importantly, the bloat of 25gb+ of unused assets isnt there. This is a problem because the users that didnt want to buy reforged are now forced to download a 25gb+ game to play the same 1.5gb game from 15+ years ago.

    Thirdly, bugs and general instability. This product simply isn't launch ready, in its current state it functions worse than beta and it seems like it was rushed out the gate due to all the delays.

    Fourth, the reskin. Honestly this is one of the most disappointing parts as the visual work was outsourced to an inexperienced studio and it really shows. inconsistent texture resolutions, janky animations, inconsistent visual style. It's all over the place. Reworked cutscenes are nowhere to be seen (though this is no surprise because the trailer and the 2018 demo were done in much more modern starcraft 2).

    The only couple of positive things I have to say about it is the remastered (16bit 44khz flac, from the original 128kbps mp3) soundtrack and the prerecorded cutscenes have been rendered again in higher resolution.
    TL:DR
    So to summarize, only a handful of campaign levels were redesigned, ingame cutscenes were largely untouched, visuals are mediocre at best, performance and stability are unacceptable, features are missing as if it is still in beta and to top it all off, they have the audacity of demanding their users to pay 30$ again for a remaster that is far less polished or finished in general.

    On its own, if classic was untouched I would have given it a 4~5/10 for a really mediocre job, but because they are forcing us into using that bloated mess as a suitable substitute to classic wc3, it's a 0/10. The two versions simply cannot be compared.

    Note:
    This should not come as a surprise because blizzard is an empty husk of a company after activision finished its hostile takeover in 2018.

    In the end, they might have been better off making reforged separate from the classic and just used the SC2 engine which is a technical masterpiece done in a time Blizzard had competent staff in its ranks.    … Expand

    i used to play classic Warcraft 3 but because of these stupid update of reforged i get an error and i can't log in plus the game take 20gb more then what it used to hope the classic will go back to normal

    Lots of things missing that were promised. But honestly, if that was ALL that was wrong, this would have been a 5/10 remake. This is a dangerous precedent. Imagine if Bethesda decides to make it impossible to play Fallout 3, NV, Skyrim, Morrowind and Oblivion as they were because they release a broken version and lay claim to every mod made for it. That is unforgivable.

    The only way they get their rating back is to remove the modding TOS and make an alternative launcher for Classic as well. But whilst you are at it, fix everything else.    … Expand

    They reduce option in WARCRAFT III classic to sell the garbage reforged edition, in classic, less graphic options, to make reforged look better.

    The game is not finished, it's not like the trailers show it, its really a scam.

    I first bought this game because i was eager to get back into Wc3 custom games again, my internet is not the best and i suffer from microDC's which does not agree with the old clients network coding i presume. Being able to play online in    Warcraft 3: Reforged is a complete disgrace to the classic games of ROC and TFT. The issues are a plenty, and the game is not worth it at this state.

Being able to play online in Starcraft 2(for example) made my hopes rise that they would rewrite and improve on the issues from the old game.

    Look how they massacred my boy. I'm extremely disappointed with what became to one of the best RTS of all time. It looks horrible as textures are flat with no shadows and it doesn't bring anything new to gameplay. Not to mention false advertisment, well, who doesn't this days? It makes absolutely no sense to "upgrade" to Reforged and they ask sum as if for AAA class game. What were they thinking?

    The delivered game had only the game models similar apart from that this is NOT the game I was presented/sold.

    - Voice acting is strongly disappointing (For my language at least (fr))
    - In game cutscenes are untouched and cinematics looks really bad, or even fan-made (Worst point for some of them: NO MUSIC !?)
    - Main menu is slow and laggy
    - Performance issues
    - No way to switch to 'classic' warcraft 3 sounds
    - Game not eligible for a refund even without playing it

    I feel like i've been lied to, and expected way more work. Especially knowing that it costs twice the price of Starcraft remastered (that IS mostly and HD version and was, in contrary of Warcraft 3 reforged, advertised like that). Maybe Warcraft 3 reforged doesn't really deserve a 0/10 (but still a bad score though for 30€ in 2020), but my disappointment towards this game and the overall company's direction, plus the fact that a game that marked history of RTS and childhoods gets so awkwardly digged from it's grave, and finally the impossibility to get a refund,.. I believe this score goes beyond this game and sincerely hope it will shake things up, and maybe, make this kind of moneygrab happen less often in the industry of gaming.

    TL;DR :
    Promises unkept, game unfinished, it's 30€ for HD models. if you already have Warcraft 3, there's no real point of buying this besides reforged graphics (and reforged bugs).    … Expand

    Upon reaching chapter 3 in the prologue campaign? I kept getting kicked to the main menu with an instant defeat screen. I tried restarting to the game to find my save progress for chapter 1 and 2 were gone.

    And that's to say nothing of the issues others have had with custom games. Apparently the old custom game "Booty Bay Wars" doesn't work because the new battlenet integration doesn't like the word "Booty".

    On paper the idea of integrating the two was sound enough. A larger pool of players, etc. However the execution has left many lamenting the loss of clans, automated tournaments, ladders, and more.

    Then you throw in the draconian ToS that ensures all created maps belong to Blizzard and you have guaranteed that players will not be wanting to support this iteration in the way they have Warcraft III classic for the past 17 odd years.

    Despite all of these issues? I have had fun with the campaigns. And many of the new models do look nice. Until you get to Lady Vashj which has human ears. Had this launched without the littany of issues and nailed the execution? $30 for such a package would have been a home run. The amount of campaigns offer such content that you don't get from most season passes that cost the same price.

    But in it's current state? I just cannot recommend this iteration to anyone. Wait for patches (if it receives any at all). If you really want to play Warcraft 3? Find a disc copy with working key and do a clean install and keep it as far away from battlenet as possible as it will update even the old one to the new reforged client.    … Expand

Very disappointing release, many features have been removed that were present in the classic version, like being able to play offline, custom campaigns and ranked ladder. The UI is painful to look at and chat commands no longer work. It's pretty much same as beta 2 months ago. Also, Blizzard committed, a crime of false advertising. You can still see a trailer for the game on their official page battle.net, that showcases features that have been cut from the final game. I get it that they might not have had enough time to finish the game, but they won't even let us refund it, this should be illegal.… Expand

Environments look sloppy, the map pictures are ripped straight out of the original game and extremely pixilated. I played the original WC3 and FT and loved them. I know blizzard is planning on continuing development until they go under but you have to think that, from a marketing standpoint at least, delaying a year, dodging the negative press and releasing a finished game would be a sound plan.

    If you made it this far, don't pre-order anything, you don't get anything extra and when you ask for a refund you've just given Blizzard an interest free loan.    … Expand

    - Lo de las hotkeys es algo inaceptable. El mismo juego te indica que tienes que editar un .txt para cambiarlas, la personificación de no hacer las cosas con ganas.

    - Las texturas del terreno no se corresponden a la calidad visual de los edificios y unidades, que están muy bien.

    - (Esto es a gusto personal) Los menús de fondo de las campañas son simples imágenes con un leve movimiento, a diferencia de los fondos en 3D que teníamos en el original.

    - Las animaciones de las unidades están "lockeadas" a 30 FPS, cuando el resto del juego corre a 60 FPS, lo que las hace ver "raro".

    - El pathfinding no funciona correctamente, provocando que varias unidades se traben entre sí al moverse en grupo.

    - Errores de sonido en bucle. Particularmente, daré los ejemplos con los que me he encontrado: *Al morir los murlocs, a veces hacen 3 o 4 veces seguidas su sonido de muerte.

    *Algunas unidades a veces no hacen sus sonidos de selección, ataque o movimiento.

    *Algunos ataques de unidades no producen sonido alguno.

    - Algunas misiones de campaña (varían según la persona), inmediatamente después de cargar, te llevan a la pantalla de "Derrota".

    - Algunas personas han perdido el progreso de la campaña al entrar y salir del juego (no me ha pasado esto particularmente, por ahora).

    - Al jugar las campañas en modo "Reforged" , el progreso no se translada al modo "Clásico", por lo que toca hacerlas de nuevo.

    - El 90% de las cinemáticas son las mismas que vimos en el juego original, con un poco más de brillo y adaptadas a pantallas actuales. La única "reforjada" es la de la intro del juego, presentada en 2018.

    - En cuanto a las escenas ingame, algunas han sido re-hechas, otras levemente modificadas, y otras siguen igual que el original.

    - (Esto es a gusto personal) La dificultad de las campañas es bastante más accesible que en el juego original. No sé si será una sensación o es algo que efectivamente es así.

    - La gran mayoría de personajes con nombre propio en la historia tienen su modelo único. Sin embargo (y esto me sorprendió mucho), el capitán Falric, Marwyn y Luc Valonforth tienen exactamente el mismo modelo.

    - En cuanto a los héroes del multijugador, fueron prometidos varios modelos de cada héroe, para no ver simples recolores del mismo. Sin embargo, esto no existe, exceptuando las skins que vienen con la edición Spoils of War.

    - En cuanto a rendimiento, particularmente no he tenido problemas, exceptuando las caídas de FPS al destruir un edificio o (particularmente) usar la habilidad "Terremoto" de Thrall.

    - Algún que otro crasheo directo al escritorio sin motivo aparente.

    - EDITADO 1: Los dragones adultos no tienen retrato (los dracos y las crías si tienen)    … Expand

    What the Hell Blizzard? An outsourced broken piece of **** It runs Crome web browser inside for it’s menu. I don’t know anything about programming but it sure is real slow. I wish I could give it back, and I’m not even talking about a refund. I just want my Classic back.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
