The NPCs in the game were, regrettably, rather lackluster in their development, lacking the depth and immersion that I had hoped for. What's more, Starfield was plagued by a slew of glitches that seriously detracted from the overall gaming experience. These issues, unfortunately, overshadowed any potential enjoyment I might have derived from the game, making it a regrettable gaming experience. Wake up Phil! Expand

    Starfield is the type of game that some people will love it other will hate it.
    For me , where I dont like the open worlds very much, game is ok: NIce graphics, voice acting, story, very nice figting feeling, lore, crafting . Great filling of spece exploration. game has got meaningless bugs but comparing to GOWR on PC /ps5, TLOU on PS/ps5 , starfield is perfect game.

    I dont know if it is a game of the decade but it is for sure something new from scratch and this year only BG3 can compete, but these are so different games that they should not run in the same race.

    At the end game is very good but not for me. BG3, also I never liked BG serie. and now turn based - bleeee.
    I encourage everyone to try Starfieldt on GP, on the PC or cloud if net is good enough.
    Revies, goty is not important but the fun during the game.

    I have to agree with the negative review-

    1) This is not space exploration - load screens everywhere, you can't land you ship 2) Poor plot - boring 3) Outdated graphics 4) UI/menus - poor, frustrating 5) so much more Avoid- for a few years. Perhaps they'll do a Cyberpunk 2077 and make it good, though as they used their very outdated engine, this is unlikely. Hope for Mods,

    Shaders don't work correctly the AI does not exist I can make that AI by just googling basic game AI and It will give me a tutorial for a better more complicated AI then wath they have the space sections are basically a glorified loading screen with shiny bits

    Learned that I need to cap the FPS the hard way still has 90% of the game broken

    No map got wandered around for another shop because I I bankrupted the other vendors the most boarding map design ever in gaming it's all squares did interns make this map ? 1990s games had more details with just squares

    The first city is basically the rich part of California (not from the US but still know it because they shove this scenery in every failing I want to be relevant game ) I am not gonna comment about the Writing because it's Bethesda I don't care

    you need 250 mods to fix the game the mod plugin cap is 276 I believe you quite literally need to learn how to make plugins light or know what to merge to have any mod space

    There is no compression it takes a large chunk of your PC with none of the content of no man's sky ,Elite dangerous , (insert any owl cat RPG), even some scams like star citizen have more things to do

    The chocking and loading is because of the lack of compression and optimization no mater of graphic updates fixes that

    Cyberpunk on launch looks better from this yeah guys on wheel chairs started walking but at least they reacted

Difficulty doesnt really matter since the AI is so terribly designed on very hard you can just nonchalantly walk up to any enemy and whack it to death. Ground combat is Fallout 4 but slightly less clunky. Space combat feels like a series of unwieldy boxes whirling around above a planet, about as fast paced and exciting as helping an old lady across the street. Any kind of space flight besides this is nonexistent, space exploration consists of loading screens and takeoff/landing cinematics. The other part of space exploration is running on foot thousands of meters across a fishbowl map on a generic planet or barren moon, to find the same copy/pasted outpost you discovered on the first moon you visited, with all the same items and npc's in the same exact places. Outpost building is an absolute joke. You would think it would be good, being the third iteration of Bethesda's building system, but in SPACE. It's not, it's 4 prefab structures, 2 landing pads (1 of which doesn't work) and a bunch of large stuff you have to build on the ground outside because there's no nice foundations to build and build on and they don't fit in the very generic premade hab shapes they give you. Followers are uninspired and forgettable and dialogue is limited to Good or Edgy. The only real effect of this dialogue is getting your boring pack animal companion to complain at you for not being enough of a Lawful Good Paladin type. The background and character building is vapid and thin, with my outlaw Professor being universally recognized for having briefly worked on a mining crew at the beginning of the game before getting railroaded into the main quest, or rather, the main series of identical fetch quests that lead you to the lazily written and plainly uninspired conclusion of the very forgettable main story. I paid a hundred bucks to get this in Early Access in spite of having Game Pass because I believed in the strength of the games Bethesda used to make, but the only memorable thing about this game is that I had to play well past the refund time to get the full scope of how bad this Triple-A blockbuster game turned out to be. I fear for the disaster that Elder Scrolls 6 is likely to be, and Bethesda has finally lost me entirely. After many games and thousands of cumulative hours, I won't day one or early access anything from them anymore because they can't be trusted. Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I cannot recommend this game right now, don’t waste your money on it @ full price.

    It baffles me how Bethesda can screw up this much, this could have been a GOTY.

    --> The bad

    Let’s start with the obvious: the game is full of bugs, not “Skyrim launch” level of bugs but a lot of bugs nevertheless. A game of this magnitude is expected to have them, but please don’t go on the media bragging about having “so few bugs”. They are common, they are everywhere, from visual bugs to quest bugs, even whole ship fleets missing that prevent you to move on with your quest (fixed after game restart).

    Second, the game has KOTOR (2003) space travel mechanics. With so many examples on the market (Elite Dangerous, NMS, etc.) it’s amazing how they couldn’t implement an in/out atmosphere landing. It’s just cut scenes all over the place: for landing, for docking, even riding the freaking metro. You cannot fly on the planet surface, you cannot fly into the planet, all you can do is a cut-scene here, a cut-scene there. Want to move around and explore the planet? Get ready to run marathons. No ground vehicles, no flying, just running - you’ll obviously end up just fast traveling everywhere. And the loadings… They are fast on NVME’s, but almost every door, everything you do is a freaking loading screen that cuts the immersion.

    Third, they screwed up big on the map, inventory & management. Moving items from your character to the companion requires about 5/6 actions, one of them being to open a dialogue with them. They did it right on Fallout and Skyrim, no excuses here. The map is a huge mess, I’m 30+ hours in and still doesn’t feel right, it’s not intuitive, it’s confusing, lacks consistency and the game has no minimap.

    Moving on, space combat is “ok”, a hugely simplified version of Elite Dangerous combat/ship maneuverability, still, more satisfying than the shooting mechanics on ground. Speaking of it, the weapons feel & effects are hugely unsatisfying. Nothing wrong with the weapons stats, types, etc., there is a lot of gun variety, they simply couldn’t do what (for example) Battlebit did, a game made by half-a-dozen friends where the weapons just feel amazing. NPC AI is a joke, the game feels way too easy on normal and the NPC intelligence doesn’t scale with it. Be ready to deal with bugged enemies aiming at the ground, hiding in plain sight or aliens running indefinitely into walls.

    The RPG side of it is Fallout 4 level of fail, you don’t have freedom to do anything out of the rulebook. Try to shoot shop people? Immortal. Try to shoot anything that’s not a pure enemy or random generated outpost, bullets don’t affect them. Dialogue options? Vague and weak. Persuasion mechanics are a mess, all feels superficial like a big roller-coaster ride.

    Last but not least, the performance. I can’t complain here because thankfully I have a really good setup, but folks that aren’t this fortunately will have a shock with the game lack of optimization. And it’s not like you’ll find the best graphics ever, not even close. The textures are outdated, the face animations too, the game doesn’t even stretch its legs to scale with GPU/CPU power. I’m running everything on ultra @ 1440p and the game only uses 5GB of VRAM, so much untapped power. Graphics aren’t that important, but it’s the cherry on the top of everything I just stated.

    --> The good

    The soundtrack is amazing, Interstellar meets 2001 Space Odyssey, a pleasure to listen to it on max volume.
    Awesome quest variety and factions.
    Game is stable, never had a single crash.
    The crafting / ship customization is awesome.
    The feel of the game overall is “ok”, I’m getting immersed in the story, but I just get kicked out of it every 5 minutes because of the things stated above.

    --> Conclusion

    Bethesda left the hard work to the modders. A 200+ million project, hundreds of people working on it, a veteran studio with all the funding they could have asked for, it’s like they f***ed up on purpose and I’m mad about it because Bethesda did a lot of my favorite games, ever, and I used to LOVE this company. So – many – rookie – mistakes.

    Personally, I think they were graphically held-back by the Xbox Series S, since it is a Xbox/PC exclusive they had to make it work on that damn calculator (and we can see the results). Also, the game is 100% a console port, there are no native PC mechanics, which aren’t that difficult to implement on a single-player game…

    The game is “ok” but could have been a masterpiece and it makes me mad because of the lost opportunity. Perhaps one day it will, when everything is just properly refined. Just wait for the price to drop, wait for the patches to fix everything, wait for the godsend modders to do their magic.

    Olha, não me levem a mal.

    The AI is a failure; I don't know who was behind it, but they probably just wrote to GPT, 'Write me an AI that moves and shoots,' and pasted it into Starfield...
    The graphics design is actually quite high-quality, but the execution is a tragedy. If you were to scale Starfield in terms of graphics between Fallout 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2, Starfield is closer to Fallout and it devours resources like crazy. I wonder where those resources are going?
    Where is the space?
    Terrible interface.
    Starfield is just plain boring.
    I forced myself to play for the last few hours just to understand most of the game's systems. This game really has a terrible design.
    And now the positives of the game:
    Physics
    "Room filling"
    Shooting system
    Fantastic music
    Very well-made sounds

    The reality is different from what the reviewers said. This game is terribly boring and repetitive.
    Open world? NO endless loading screens and fast travel.
    Space exploring? Just fast travels....
    Planet exploring? Running simulator with limited time to run and invisible walls... no planet vehicles, no planet flying
    7 different buildings on every planet, with same loot, same loot position, same enemy position, same pattern, no randomness at all
    Cities are dull, too big with nothing and you will running... and running and waiting for oxygen... and running....

    Space combat ? Like Everspace from Wish, terrible controls on PC
    Shipbuilding ? It is nice and fun at first, but PC controls are terrible, and it does not matter. You can fly anything and kill anything what is on your level.
    Outpost building ? Boring, stupid, terrible controls and you do not need outpost at all, just waste of time. It does not give you anything.

    Inventory and weight management is terrible. You spend half of your gameplay in your inventory, or ship inventory or outpost inventory.

    Skyrim with mods has better graphics and better performance. This graphic is soo outdated... it looks like reskinned Fallout 4 (yes i know it is reskinned fallout)

    I have 60hours in this game and Every hour of gameplay has the same pattern:
    5min combat
    20 min in map, fast travel and loading screens and waiting for oxygen
    30 minutes in inventory and selling stuff,
    5 minutes in dialogs

    Would not buy again. Was hyped by paid reviewers.
    I played so long to milk my spend Euros to max, but after 60 hours i have tried everything, do multiple repetitive missions, all important skill, C class ship with so much cargo space it barely fly ( i can still wipe anything in combat) and outpost with so many LINKS that in builder View it looks like red sea!

Enemies are bullet sponges and the guns do not have any weight to them. Then there are the many bugs that people have come to expect from Bethesda. All in all I would not recommend this game. Do yourself a favor and play the old mass effect games, they are so much better. If you do want to try this game out, just get game pass. Don't pay 70 bucks for this, it's barely worth a tenner. This game is so disappointing.

    Three major flaws in the first hour : Controls, Music and Story. Controls are junky, like you are playing counter-strike, you walk too slow, you run too fast. Sprint is alright for combat but we are 2023 and this cannot sustain comparison to other developers not even their own past published games like Fallout. It really feels like a half-life mod.

    The music is so bland and boring, I dont know why you guys lost Jeremy Soule after Skyrim, that soundtrack was ASTONISHING, but everything Inon Zur do sounds like Crysis and its not good.

    The story is so much copy-past formula of past titles with no soul, like your reading a chapter but all that is written is the name of the chapter. This is a MAJOR FLAW.

    From then my jaw dropped when I got into my ship with excitement and I was pumped to hell when I saw the animation when you get to sit in the cockpit and then boom, Gravity hit me like a ton of brick. You dont even lift off your ship, you dont fly it in the air, in the atmosphere, you dont travel with it, you dont explore with it, you do nothing in that cockpit except shooting random pirates sometimes between cutseen/loading screen and even that they manage to scrap it. How can I hear pirates in their own ship saying childish stuff like : This isnt over yet !!! ??? Really ??? I knew from that point that this game isnt getting the passing grade. Im not even talking about bugs. Why have this awesome mechanics to build ships if you do nothing with your ship ???

    So you explore planet and put your helmet on. Where is the helmet ? This is first person game, and you see nothing. No shield, no reflection of light, they didnt bother to make you feel like you are wearing it, there is nothing in the screen, like you are a rover with a mounted camera at 5foot of height that looking right and left. They could have put the HUD in the shield of the helmet that would have been so cool, but nothing here. Then you think you should becarefull about the time you spend here because there is no atmosphere and your supply of Oxygen is limited. Again no, there is no supply of oxygen in Babyfield, you just use it like stamina and it comes back, same with fuel when you use the map to load the cutseen to travel to another planet.

    Im leaving this here. No worth it to talk about bugs, the story or character or procedural stuff or anything else really. These were MAJOR FLAWS.

    I dont know whats happening at Bethesda, too much Yes man, or family vibes where nothing is really important and there is no quality control and nobody is held accountable for anything serious. I dont understand, this game is a regress from their past titles.

    In space, you need to use trusters to escape the gravity of whats bigger than you. When you are past the threshold, you are ballistic. This isnt a jet, you dont need to burn your trusters to move around. If there is no air, there is no sound too.

    Nothing here makes me believe they are sci-fi lovers or space enthusiast at Bethesda, really?

    Even shooting manages to be worse than Fallout because they removed the gore, and the brainless enemies just stand still behind cover.

    You gotta be blind to think this game is beautiful, everything looks super artificial and dated, especially the water that looks straight from a game from 18 years ago, that coupled with the game dry lack of atmospheric effects ,sounds and flat topography, just makes it extra boring.

    It's obvious Beth/MS spent very little time optimising the PC port of their game, and I'm VERY far removed from the people that expect NPCs in games to look like they've just competed in a beauty pageant (those people are, frankly, pathetic)...However, outside of the main companions (who are OKish), the NPCs look like something from a 80s era horror movie. As said, I don't expect every NPC to look like they've just strolled off a catwalk, but I do expect them to resemble human beings. This level of poor models, poor textures, poor facial geometry and terrible animations is not acceptable in a current gen game.

    So yes.... Starfield does evoke Oblivion, just not in the way most of us were hoping it would.

    I suspect there is a good game in there...somewhere... but it won't be worth seeking out until about two years hence, by which time there'll be a more affordably-priced bundle that includes patches and DLCs, and, most critically, the modding community (as per usual) will have had a chance to make Starfield at least halfway worthy of the "professional" 8+ scores it has received.

    Larian's games like Divinity & Baldurs Gate have given a fresh look at the brilliance of interconnected story threads & rpg mechanics. games like Horizon: FW showed us how phenomenal these worlds can be without loading (draw distance, fidelity, detail, physics). No Mans Sky showed us how space traversal can be immersive & realistic by flying to a planet, entering its atmosphere, landing & climbing out of your ship. what does Starfield show us? what screams "next-gen" about starfield? xbox cant even get it to run faster than 30fps on their series x. sorry, no performance mode in 2023 is a massive fail.

    They managed to release a space game without spaceship exploration, planets, or an open world.

    Starfield is the embodiment of 'tried to do too much and ended up doing nothing right.'

    It's like they handed Skyrim space gear and said, 'Fly, my Dragonborn!' but forgot to give it wings or a functional jetpack.

    Open World:
    Starfield is a stale, soulless “world,” that feels disconnected.

    Everything is locked behind a loading screen and the game doesn't have an "open world" to navigate and experience. You jump from objective to objective via the UI like some sort of CoD Campaign. You are not in control of flying your ship between systems, landing your ship, departing from settlements, attempting risky docking to board other ships. Everything is a fast travel cut-scene initiated via a key-bind or through the confusing UI.

    You read that right. There is no traveling, landing, or exploring to do on your own. When you are “in orbit” around a “planet” you can’t go anywhere; no matter how long you fly for you are no closer to the planet you see ahead of you than before. That’s because being “in orbit” around a “planet” only serves as a “placeholder;” an enclosed waiting zone to open the UI and choose where to fast travel next. There is no open space to navigate. Everything is done via cutscenes which only make you hungry for more. Why can’t I fly my ship wherever I want to in a System? Why can’t I manually find a spot on a planet and land there myself? One click on the map and you suddenly teleport to Neon city. Where is the awe of discovering it by yourself through exploration?

    This makes Starfield feel more like a collection of maps/dungeons with no clear link between each other, rather than a connected and breathing world. It's like playing Skyrim, but you are only allowed to teleport between dungeons through the map interface - without the open world in-between.

    Cities:
    Like space, cities feel disconnected and non-immersive. New Atlantis, for instance, is not even a unified city. Instead, cities are split into various parts requiring you to fast travel between each district. Other than soulless “citizen” NPCs walking aimlessly around with no schedule, nothing of interest is going on to justify having so many loading screens.

    In addition, almost every single building or shop has a loading screen to access, which is very weird since 90% of buildings with interiors are basically just an empty lobby with one shopkeeper. This makes simple fetching quests a nightmare. You have to go through 5 different loading screens just to deliver a package from one part of the city to another.

    Spaceship:
    It feels like they wasted all these resources for the Spaceship builder, yet neglected adding gameplay that will make your spaceship meaningful. Space traveling, planet exploration, landing/docking mechanics, and fuel planning - just to name a few. As it stands right now, your spaceship is just a storage locker between your UI fast travels. It is so tedious to fast travel that you may end up not seeing your spaceship for hours during a playthrough, since you instantly teleport to the selected locations and spawn outside your ship. To see your ship and add “immersion,” you would need to add 3 more loading screens to your fast travels. Pointless, since you have no control over anything. You only get to watch the game do everything for you via cutscenes.

    Combat:
    It’s… working. Like in any basic first-person shooter game. There are no “classes” or anything else that will make you think “Damn, on my next playthrough I am gonna play as X and Y.” You can tell by the Skill Points you get to allocate that all Traits offer small bonuses to combat (e.g., deal 10% more damage with Pistols) that add no distinctive gameplay or new combat mechanics. They are just… flat bonuses to damage, health, persuasion, ship damage. Class-wise, the only option you have would be to either play a ranged build or a (hardly viable) melee build. That’s it.

    Outpost Building:
    Barebones and clunky. We will most probably see paid DLCs adding props and things to expand building, like they did with Fallout 4 (they released 3 paid workshop DLCs).

    Land Vehicles:
    Yep, they did it too. The only way of traversing is by foot – no land vehicles/rovers exist in the future. Fast Traveled to a planet in a super-ship? Now you need to jog like clown for 1200m in a barren and empty wasteland just to reach an enemy encampment. Be careful not to go too far or you’ll hit an invisible wall.

    Story:
    As soon as you launch the game, you are given a ship, a place to stay, and suddenly a full organization blindly trusts you – which is very off-putting. This feels like a big “roleplaying” part of the game is cutout.

    Graphics:
    Starfield feels like a texture-enhancement Fallout 4 mod. There is little improvement between Starfield and Fallout 4.

    Unplayable. Every 1-2 minutes It freezes for 3-5 seconds (it runs smoothly between the freezes though).
    It crashes, like, A LOT. In the first hour it crashed 3 times. Next day it crashed on launch, when I pressed the 'Continue' button. Restart helped, but then after 40 minutes of play it crashed again.
    I have a good PC - GTX3060, M2 solid drive, 32 Gb of RAM, Intel 10th Gen CPU. Hey

And not even the real Wild West but that of John Wayne movies. People wear spacesuits from the 1960's, yet have interstellar travel. Computers run some version of Windows 95. Robots have worse voice simulation software than your iphone. The future is full of hokey morality vending machines, and interstellar coffee shops. Ridiculous. None of the cutting areas of science are explored. It spams out other peoples tropes badly when they were outdated half a century ago. But golden age of sci fi this is not. It is clearly not written by people with any knowledge of sci fi or science.

    Writing: I don't want to talk to anyone - including main characters. the writing is juvenile and patronising. Like it was written by a complete amateur.
    Graphics. Apart from the pretty character creation, the graphics are rubbish. This is acceptable to some degree with a big RPG, but it extends to the characters who fail to convince as human beings let alone compelling characters.
    Gunplay. I can't even see most of the enemies - thankfully there is a label over them, so I shoot that. There is absolutely no sense of connection either hitting someone or being hit. I only know I am being hit when a pop up tells me to use a medipack. The AI is so stupid it doesn't even notice you are there as you fire 20 shots into it.
    Exploration: You can't take off and land. Fair enough. But you can't even orbit a planet or plot a course outside a menu. If you try and explore you are confronted by a barren plane, with about as much charm as filler zone in a MMO.
    Roleplaying: There is none. You get a few trite options for saying variations of the same thing, that don't seem to do anything at all. I guess you just have to use your imagination.
    Everything about it is worse than any previous Bethseda release. I don't see how even mods can save it. At leasrt there previous games had dense interesting starting locations and atmosphere. There is none of that here.
    I'm bored. That's it. I can't in all fairness score it more than a 1 - my lowest score ever by at least 5 points. It does almost everything worse than games they made 12 years ago, and has no character, no decent story, no roleplaying options, no decent worlduilding. The much maligned Cybperpunk was light years ahead even at launch.

    Let me start by saying: that I'm a Bethesda fan. I've had countless hours of fun with Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 & 4. My rant here is not based on hate, but pure passion. I played Baldur's Gate 3 just before Starfield, which is probably the best game I have played in my 35-year life. So I can't help it, I'm probably being more of a critic now if I had not played BG3.Let me start by saying: that I'm a Bethesda fan. Negative:
    * Story feels weak. Suddenly people just tell me to do stuff and join their community.
    * Uninteresting talent tree. A lot of % increase. Do 10% more damage with shotguns or do 10% more damage with pistols? Or "Unlock this feature that we have locked so you can unlock it". Just very uninteresting and low effort.
    * Exploring barren planets is not fun. It takes minutes to walk to a landmark. And when you arrive at an "Unexplored Cave", something I hoped would be a dungeon or something, was just a small cave with some rocks in it, I suppose that you should be able to mine, but after shooting with my mining laser on it for 30 seconds, I assumed I can't mine this material. It doesn't even say you can't mine it. Oh, and the cave was just a dead end after 20 meters.
    * UI is unintuitive and is hard to read sometimes.
    * Research UI is very confusing and hard to understand at first glance.
    * What should I do with all of the loot I pick up? Is there no stash for all my materials? I asked my companions to carry it, but it was confusing. I later found out about the cargo on my spaceship, but it wasn't clear at all for a new player.
    * Your companion says "Bye" if you're ending the conversation even though he or she is following you.
    * There are too many weapons right from the start. I got legendary weapons (yes, plural) when exploring a random building on one of the first moons/planets I went to. And I killed level 15-20's when I was level 5 on normal difficulty.
    * Enemies turning on the alarm without having seen you. I just made some sound not even in their room. I was just jumping. How did they know it was me (an enemy to them). I would have assumed they would explore what the sound was first.
    * Melee weapons don't have a slow attack. Press and hold the mouse button to charge up like in Skyrim for example. Makes the combat feel floaty and unresponsive. Sometimes the slashing animation doesn't even trigger.
    * No maps of interiors and towns... like wtf?
    * Subtitles of enemies in the distance you can't even hear - Not even a little bit.
    * Companions complaining every 5 minutes I loot stuff.
    * You can't unbind keybindings.
    * Bad level design in towns. Thinking about New Atlantis. No signs, no map, dead ends. Not fun when you are encumbered and just want to find a vendor to sell to.
    * You get side quests from random people that talk that you walk past, but you didn't pay attention to what they said and now you have a random quest to do something and you don't know why.
    * Bad explanation in quest descriptions. A lot of the time I'm asking why I should do this quest. I could have completed some parts of a quest, but it only tells me about the part I am on currently in a very undescriptive way. "Go do this thing". Why?!
    * I miss being able to read through current conversations at hand like you can do in Baldur's Gate 3. My mind often wanders away, or the story doesn't grasp me enough and then it's nice being able to read what was just said. I often end up having a lot of conversation options and then don't know what to choose because I didn't pay attention and I have to press Esc and restart the whole conversation.
    * Starfield is mostly a beautiful game, but some places look like graphics from 2007...
    * Citizens in cities are extremely boring. They really feel like NPCs. No purpose else than just being still, walking, and saying they don't have time to talk.
    * You have to go inside a menu to see your active buffs...
    * Played for 16 hours and didn't get achievements. Had to Google what was wrong. It said I had to restart my computer. Now achievements appeared in Steam but I had 0/50 unlocked...
    * When doing a quest, the NPC I had to follow got stuck and I couldn't finish the quest.
    * Should be illegal to release a game with mouse acceleration, mouse ratio and field of view only edited in .ini files
    * The lockpicking mini-game is more annoying than interesting/fun
    * I expected some innovations and more polish from Bethesda, but it really feels like the same quality of a game as Fallout 4.
    * The music reminds you of Fallout 4. I was hoping for something else to make the games feel more unique to each other.

    Positive:
    * If you have played Fallout 4 and Skyrim, you know what to expect. I loved those games, but it's 2023 now and Bethesda has to step up their game.
    * Ship building seems fun. I haven't tried out base building yet, but I expect it to be fun as well.
    * Space theme is cool.
    * Physics engine.
    * Lots of exploration.
    * Modders will save us? I hate saying this, but Bethesda should feel a bit of shame.

    A mediocre game that don't really do much, it's quantity over quality. It's Fallout 4 in space but with less immersion and more loadingscreens way more loadingscreens (a game released 2015). Worst inventorysystem in ages it's even worse then Fallout 4, horrible menysystems and maps.

    It's clear Bethesda do not evolve or improve at all, my hype for the next Elder Scrolls died with Starfield. Starfield also made it clear that Bethesda needs to take the creation engine 2 behind the barn and shoot it. Too many limitations and you will find the same bugs from previous titles in Starfield.

    Quick recap:
    Performance = Bad
    AI = Bad
    MainStory = Bad (booooring)
    Sidequests = 50/50 Ok/Bad
    Combat = Ok (but underwhelming)
    Sound = Ok (but underhwelming)
    Music = Good
    Immersion = Bad

    There is some ok to good parts in the game but overall very mediocre i would rate this 6/10. I wish modders wouldn't help Bethesda so they actually had to care about there own products in the future. Bethesda didn't even add FOV-slider or DLSS.

    Videojuego distraído, pero no optimizado para PC. Sin DLSS. El creador del videojuego, dice que compremos máquinas nuevas, en vez de optimizar el juego. Falta de respeto. El juego está en perfecto castellano y es distraído pero no es lo que prometieron. Lo peor del juego y la baja nota es por la pésima optimización.

    Give Rockstar 8 years and you'll see a masterpiece, this looks like a botched copy of Mass Effect Andromeda that was already bad.
    I played it for 4 hours and left it, it doesn't do anything right and it's one loading screen after another... I played it on an SSD with an rtx4080 and 32gb of DDR5 ram to have to download a DLSS mod because it doesn't go above 40fps .

    I fell in love with Starfield. It's my cup of sci-fi and I can't wait to spend the next thirty, fifty, maybe seventy hours here. I enjoy the exploration, the shootouts, the art style, the ship building, and the diverse worlds. I gratefully acknowledge the good optimization and the absence of major bugs. But I can't overlook the flaws. There are bad animations, ugly faces and repetitive moments.[Issue#329]

    In a year dominated by sequels to franchise favorites, there was a hope that Starfield would carve its own path to success. While the team at Bethesda should be commended for taking such a big swing, there’s no denying that the game doesn’t feel like a cohesive work. Maybe continued support and future sequels will make something more meaningful out of a work that is clearly deeply enamored with both science fiction and space exploration. Unforunately, this first launch has had far more mixed results than desired.
