    Pros:

But when you do, holy smokes does it feel good. The soundtrack is pretty damn solid throughout, with some particular bangers along the way. The story is...fine I guess. Its probably the weakest part of Sekiro, but it doesn't really bring the game down in any way. The voice acting is good in literally every single language this game has.
I should note however that this game very much will not be for everyone, even some Soulsborne veterans I know didn't really care for this game as much as others. That is mostly due to the fact that there is only one way really of fighting in this game. Theres no great swords, daggers, bows, or magic. There is no variety essentially, you'll be slashing, deflecting, jumping and mikiri countering the whole way through to the very end. Now I really like this style of gameplay, but if you were the kind of guy/gal to hit and run in games like dark souls or you perhaps used to rolling through most attacks with ease, this game will take some real getting used to or you may just straight up not enjoy it. If you can adapt to this singular style of gameplay, you should have an extremely difficult but extremely satisfying time with this game. Its a #P4P great!

+ The art-style fits the Sengoku Japan setting of the game pretty well.
+ Similar to From's previous games, there are checkpoints you have to search for.
+ Combat is pretty fun once you understand how it works. (There is a certain boss who will force you to understand how combat works.)
    + Multiple endings.
+ Stealth in this game is fun as opposed to the boring stuff you see in other games.
    + Fun boss fights.
+ The game rewards you for exploration.
+ Japanese voice acting in this game is top-notch.
+ Lots of varied areas and enemies. You will fight humans, monkeys, monsters and more monkeys. Lots and lots of monkeys.

+- The game is very fast-paced. This is alright once you get used to it but might feel too hard while playing the game for the first few hours.
+- Some soundtracks were fun to listen to. Some were "ok".

    - While I like challenging games, this game felt too punishing. Getting hit two to four times while fighting bosses means you are dead. Moreover, some attacks are fast and will one-shot you which is something I haven't encountered in From's previous games. One-shots have always been clearly telegraphed in their previous games (remember Lorian's beam in DS3?) but for some reason they did not follow the same rule in this game.
    - It can take a long time trying to beat some bosses/mini bosses only for you to get killed for getting hit twice. Meh.
    - Headless.

Overall, great game. Highly recommended if and ONLY if you are looking for a good challenge.

If you are a fan of Dark Souls , you will probably like this.
Sekiro has excellent depth and lore , and the combat keeps you entertained for hours.
The vertical scaling of the world is interesting , and adds a new feel to the traditional Dark Souls recipe.

Negatives are that some parts do feel slightly drawn out, but that is a minor complaint.
    Overall an excellent experience.

It's a from software game. It's more solid than anything in the dark souls saga, but it still fails on a wonky interface, strange character moves (who slows down a blow towards the end... how... why). If you like fighting against your own character instead of the enemy (ie. you like Dark Souls) It's a game for you

And the tendency to lose focus on the enemy, particularly during boss fights, is quite annoying. As for the difficulty, is it too hard? In general, I found the difficulty OK. A couple of the bosses could perhaps do with being toned down a little bit (but not too much). I also wish the buffs lasted a bit longer. But none the less a great game overall. Expand

There’s no leveling (in Soulsborne sense of the word), no covenants, no multiplayer, no variety in armor and weapons. It could be written off a stylistic choice, if the rest of the game didn’t feel very similar to the previous FromSoftware games. But it does, so Sekrio comes across as rather shallow. Sekiro Shadows Die Twice is a milestone in the genre. It offers complex, stunning and precise sword fights and duels that its predecessors lacked, and from which its successors will have to keep up with. You no longer simply learn by repeatedly and unfairly dying, but you refine your talents as a player. You seek unique methods to overcome each boss, rather than just rolling at the right time before spamming a few hits.

It is a brilliant game, that is certain. but it is often a difficult one to truly love. Naturally, we can't put it down. [Issue#332, p.104]
