So far I've gotten to level 55 and taking my time. I have encountered a few disconnects and some graphical bugs here and there and some frames dropping. But the game is great otherwise. I'm continuously finding new quests and events to do.

This game suffers from the worst flaw of any game. It's boring!

Of all things the only thing a video game is supposed to do is: be fun!

And yet, devoid of any substance or complexity, this game is just waiting for a modder to come along and make it actually good.

The problem is that I don't think the game will be fun anymore after you've explored all the locations ans found out all the notes and stuff since in previous games you could go down different dialogue paths and be a different kind of character.

Some problems that really need fixing are things like adding a push to talk button, which I hope players can strongarm Bethesda into adding.

While I don't care about them adding an fov slider, they should allow manual ini editing to allow you to change the fov that way instead, it gets around them not wanting to add a slider because of animation and clipping issues, but allows people who are okay with the odd floating arm they might see to stop having headaches after a while. It sucks that they are locking people out of this one tweak.

Stash size is probably the biggest problem, pretty much everyone who plays fallout has a huge collection of cool and unique things they've found while playing, but with the stash size limit in 76 it forces people to only have a few weapons, armour pieces, health items and junk to be used for building. So you pretty much just have to have one set of items you carry with you at all times, and have your junk and a few other things in your stash. It really limits what you can do and also forces you to play a certain way since you have to constantly worry about how much stuff you have even when you have already cut back on what you have.

Traders caps pool is another problem, They only have 200 caps to trade with, they only have a small percentage of the caps you give them when you buy something too, so you will always run out before you've finished. it doesn't seem bad at first because you get only a few caps per item you sell, but after you've levelled a bit and got some better gear it quickly eats up the 200 caps pool. They also share a pool of caps with other traders within a certain area, so if you build a base between two traders like I did, you quickly find out how useless that is. traders also wont buy certain items like ammo and building plans, which is annoying because plans and ammo also have a weight value, so you either have to hope you run into another player who wants to trade, wants what your're selling and also has enough caps to buy from you, if not then you may aswell throw the ammo away because it will just cut down your weight limit.

Private servers now. Bethesda promised that they are going to be adding private servers at some point, but they really should have been in from the start, The biggest potential from this game is going to be the roleplaying aspects of playing with other real humans, Having a private server full of players dedicated to a true roleplaying experience, building settlements together, creating their own factions, having raider groups and building their own shared story in the fallout world. It sounds awesome. But right now you join a random server and chances are no one is actually pretending to be part of the world, heck most players don't even talk because they have to have their mic on all the time or not at all. there's also the chance you're going to be hearing some guy watching the TV whilst chomping down and some crunchy snack whilst their character is just standing still, then there's the people that will just attack you for no real reason, it ruins what could be the best feature that saves the game for a lot of people. Private servers are needed as soon as possible.

Which in a game that doesn't have set in stone questlines I think is pretty good. I can understand this game isn't for everyone and it has bugs, the graphics aren't like god tier; but I don't think this game justifies such huge negativity just because it doesn't fit everyone cookie cutter expectations. I bet most haven't even played the game enough to give it a chance. I'm already level 51 and when I was level 42 I seen a level 84 already. I been to 3 nuke zones and its a lot of fun roaming around with groups of randoms killing mobs, its only annoying with trying to get loot off the dead enemies because it seems randoms that participated in hitting the enemy can take the same loot so you could end up with nothing after the kill. I rarely met game breaking bugs other than the disconnects and game crashing, which in some terms ended up me losing junk after dying which is frustrating, also lost an item a legendary quest item at Mama Dolce's Food Processing Event Feed the People; which Bethesda can't help replace. The game shines for those that like to loot, hoard, explore, and fight with somewhat of a survival struggle; like the odds are against you and your level 20 killing level 50 scorchbeast. There does need to be quality of life additions, fixing bugs, balancing/nerfing/buffing perks, items, etc. A big negative for me is the storage capacity. I end up wasting all my time managing weight and having to drop stuff just so I can fast travel, because I like doing the events for chance at blueprint or legendary item. I met a person that hasn't fast traveled since they were level 12 and been over-encumbered to 1200+ weight. This game has Fallout Universe feel to it, but it does lack the choices = impact like in older Fallout games and somewhat in Fallout 4's ending. But, who knows maybe Bethesda will open up vaults and the world gets populated with vault dweller npcs and people will still complain. I feel like this game is niche, in that its for specific people that would enjoy what this game gives, and it might be fun to non Fallout fans that like exploring, looting, and casual survival aspects. Since, I'm level 50 I have so many quest I have yet to do because of looting and exploring I still need to do. I think if Bethesda lets us pause holotapes so we don't have to replay them because of someone talking or noise from fighting, let us have push to talk and push to mute, let us favorite perk cards so it makes it easy to see favorite perk cards to swap out in situations, give us backpacks and more stash inventory, add some npcs to make the world feel much more alive, like I really want a city to explore (only place that feels like it is Greenbriar hotel and its full of 1 line robots), and other quality of life patches then I feel like this game will be way better. There are absolutely no redeeming qualities to Fallout 76. I've been a longtime fan of Bethesda going all the way back to Morrowind. I've watched over the years and the quality of their games have been ever so steadily dropping, circling the drain as their RPG mechanics are stripped out or dumbed down and their stories are simplified (and cease to make any sense (For a point of reference, I'm in the middle of doing a near full analysis of Fallout 4, the first video alone was two hours long and it very much looks like the next two videos will be equally long and that's not even counting the DLC))

Fallout is a series that has a place in the heart of many gamers and it isn't simple brand loyalty. Fallout has become an established series rooted deeply in player choice, characters, world building, storytelling and it's RPG mechanics, something Bethesda has tragically stripped out from each game. The change of format from an Isometric RPG to a first person one isn't a game breaker for Fallout, however removing everything from Fallout that MADE it Fallout is.

Fallout 76 presents a vast and empty world, in which there are no characters and nothing to do but wander aimlessly. No characters = no story. While there are in fact quests and a supposed main story, they essentially boil down to generic tasks for you to complete while any attempted semblance of story is crudely vomited at you via drawn out audio logs. Without characters in the world, there is no investment in completing quests as your actions are meaningless to the world and exist solely as vague "things" to keep the player busy. All quests are presented by a holotape, a computer terminal, a note or a dead body and they all end in the same fashion or just at random when you complete the objective. Many of these quests will also just dump random "loot" items into the player's inventory upon completion, even if the goal of the quest was to find a cache of loot anyways.

Bethesda must have taken the criticisms of Fallout 4's story and dialogue system seriously and their solution was to just remove them entirely. All you're left with is a world full of loot to aimlessly gather, enemies to shoot at and raising your character's S.P.E.C.I.A.L. for no real reason.

To top it all off, Fallout 76 is a buggy mess as well. I have no idea why fans of Bethesda have let them get away with their buggy games for so long, but prior to the release of Fallout 76, it had become a meme and something people joke about, but ultimately have given Bethesda a pass on. There's already countless videos out detailing the many bugs, glitches and errors. During my playtime, I had enemies fall through the world, dead enemies floating mid-air as physics stopped working and numerous enemies teleporting about just to name a few.

The game was laggy during my entire playtime as well, there was constant stuttering and pausing and near freezing. This made the game near impossible to play, especially in combat, as it made aiming at any enemies about 10 times harder than it should have been. There was at least twice I thought the game had frozen or crashed.

Speaking of combat, most of the enemies I encountered didn't do too much damage. If you let them pick away at you, they could kill you, but otherwise they weren't much of a threat. I know there are more enemies in the game, but I only encountered just a few in my 3 hours of play. Weapon and armor durability is back, much to my surprise and as much as I disliked it being removed from Skyrim and Fallout 4, I wish they hadn't added into Fallout 76, as combat is already a chore. This is made worse by the fact that you need to access your Pip-boy to switch weapons if one breaks. This is also an issue when you run out of ammo and need to switch weapons. As this is a multiplayer game, the game does not pause while you're in a menu, meaning as you're scrolling through your Pip-boy, which is still a pain to navigate, the enemies are still hitting you.

In addition to all those reasons for combat being awful, weapons and armor are now level-gated like an MMO. It makes sense for World of Warcraft to prevent a level 1 player from equipping an item that gives stat bonuses meant for a level 120 character, it doesn't make sense for Fallout to have this as well, even in a multiplayer setting. This essentially forces the player to use the awful Pipe guns straight from Fallout 4 for the early game. This also leads to situations were you can't strap a metal bracer to your leg as armor because you're not a high enough level, which is just plain silly.

In addition there is a microtransaction shop, complete with virtual currency and a scaling pricing system to buy this fake currency for in-game items. I don't know the exact exchange rate on these "Atoms," but as far as I can tell worthless outfits your character can wear will cost a few bucks each and odds are, you won't get much use out of them.

Out of room to say anymore.

    Do not buy.

First off this is nothing we already didn't know. Second Vault 76 is one of the first Vaults opened, so we as the player are some of the first people surfacing after the Great War this is why there are no NPC b/c there are is no one else out yet. We are meant to find out what has happened in the aftermath of the Great War. Now I would love to see NPCs added into the game and I think this could be done with little effort. Think what if a new Vault opened up and you had to help the people of that Vault create a settlement which will turn into a social hub, think the tower in Desinty.

    Quick hits:

    Pros:
The world - Fallout 76 has a huge world with something new around every corner
    Base building
The loot - the loot is great I love the blueprints
    Crafting
Level / Perks - This is a perfect system for this style of game. They just need to make to so you have re-roll your S.P.E.C.A.I and maybe add on endgame leveling system, think ESO online maybe???
    Multiplayer
Enemies - a good divers raid on enemy types.
Nukes - it's a cool way to create a harder zone

    Cons:
This game needed an upgraded / new engine
Lunch bugs - this feels like an earlier access game.
    Quests need to be better
    Gunplay needs to be updated.

this game completely exposes the fact that bethesda games have and will continue to be carried by modders. 76 will likely eventually become a good game due to fans creating mod servers. but right now this game is a lackluster buggy mess. do not waste your money on this right now. buy the game when it goes on sale later in its life it will have a great selection of mods then.

First of all, anyone giving this game a 1, is knee jerk reacting, and just tossing a 1 out, because they want to drag the score down.

Now, This game is not a perfect game. Server Instability tends to be the worst issue I've had playing this game. I've run into the issue of being kicked out of various exploration places only to be placed outside again, still missing ammo and medical supplies, and having to start over. It's not a great feeling, but I never expected the launch of a huge game like this to be 100% Stable, and I've only run into two server crashes in my entire playtime. So it's annoying, but not awful.

The Textures are ripped straight out of Fallout 4, not really a bad thing, but save for a few texture differences on some enemies and items. It's very much Fallout 4.

The Biggest thing I think this game has going for it so far, is the environmental story telling, taking it slow and steady, you can get a feel of how some of these homesteads fell apart, and what some people's last moments might have been.

The Building does feel a little bit of a step down from Fallout 4, mostly because everything has to be connected to bases and walls, and clipping through other items isn't allowed. However, this is probably mostly just to do with the fact the camps can be moved whenever, and dropped into new zones, so the buildings sort of had to make sense. The camp also seems to spawn the items from the ground up, so having them connected makes sense. You can still make some whacky buildings though, it just takes building and removing foundations and messing with Ladders.

As of this review, the Stash Box you have, can only carry 400 lbs of stuff. Not 400 different items, 400 LBS of stuff, so its' like a stationary extra inventory slot, that eventually can be filled and not accept more items. This is somewhat aggravating for those who like to pick everything up and scrap stuff. But the developers also added a way to condense your materials down into lighter bulk loads if you have a tinkers bench and plastic.

The Perk Card systems fun to mix and match, though sometimes you'll just get unlucky and not get nice cards from your packs. This can slow down stuff a little, but if you keep at it, you'll get everything your wanting.

Overall, this is a pretty average game. I hope Bethesda continues to support it, so that they can make it better. So I'm giving it a 5/10. It's very Average, it' is fun though, and I'm hoping things improve from here.

FPS lock, permanent blur, plethora of bugs, broken quests(Bureau of Tourism) known to be broken for weeks and not fixed for release date. Stash issues, broken PvP revenge system, textures from 2011.. Yes this is Zenimax/Bethesda of 2018 with their new big project. Oh, no push to talk as well.

This game feels like swimming underwater, at night, with no oxygen tank or a flashlight in the middle of the ocean. And when you try to go to the surface to breath, you cannot. The ocean drags you back and slowly drains your life while you struggle to survive. You will not survive, it is the worst game I have ever played. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this.

    Sadly, not much fun.
First, this is a "real" Fallout game. Game play and feel is the same, controls (good and bad) are consistent; it's feels like Fallout 4. The constant, and I mean CONSTANT, stopping to play holotapes or read long terminal entries is annoying in the extreme. NPC interaction was fun in prior games, especially New Vegas, but it doesn't exist here. If I weren't a Fallout fan, I'd see no reason to play this. And banking on nostalgia just isn't enough to keep even a fanboy interested for very long.

In summary, the graphics are better than ever but its a dull, grey game with limited play time potential. Spend your $60 on RDR 2.

I've played this serie since its inception. When Bethesda took over Interplay everyone said that was the end of the serie, sure it was a different game (Fallout 3), but it was enjoyable. This one is a different beast. All Fallout were full of bugs initially, so I can forgive that. What I have problem with is that I'm playing it solo, but still need to be in that online world with peoples II've played this serie since its inception. All Fallout were full of bugs initially, so I can forgive that. What I have problem with is that I'm playing it solo, but still need to be in that online world with peoples I don't interact with. The few times I interacted with peoples it was either quite banal, or annoying (two guys chasing me trying to kill me). So for a game I'm playing and intend to play solo, having the burden of the online e.g. no pause, no real VATS anymore, no real save (checkpoint is so-so), ... is a big negative mark. Add to this that at the core, as many have said, the story is read through holotapes and notes (and the occasional boring robot) make it quite bland. Yes, the world is big and if the troubles don't discourage me, I'll probably spend quite a bit of time exploring it, however, I already feel a little bit bored, while for any of the other games in the serie I was still full enthusiastic at that point in my game time. Maybe an offline mode would alleviate a bit of the issues, but the life less experience might not be something that can be fixed. I still try to love it... might just not happen. Expand

I came into this game from Fallout 4, which was the first Fallout game I actually played. I have gotten up to speed with Fallout lore from a bevy of online information sources, so I know the story up until this point. Basically, Fallout games of past have been driven by a narrative story from the perspective of a single individual player-controlled character who is that one guy who has to save the world. The story is heavily dependent upon dialog with NPCs strewn throughout the world, and the overall atmosphere is supposed to be darkly humorous with a generous helping of amusing WTFness and also some genuine moral choices to make. Often, you can be a helpful savior to strangers, or an immoral brigand who does what he wants. Either role generally can be played and allows you to still satisfy the main campaign's end game, and replaying the game from different moral perspectives lets you experience the game in a different way (high replayability).

The first thing you should do when sorting through reviews for Fallout76 is to take any review that says "this game has no plot or story" with more than just a grain of salt - it's a steadfast lie to say this game has no story and you're just wandering aimlessly. Fallout 76's story is there for anyone who wants to experience it, but you *can* play the game by ignoring the story completely and just wandering aimlessly if that's your thing. Unfortunately, it seems many people gave this game a "0" score based on the false lack of story.

The big departure this takes from other Fallout stories is that this story is based on the experiences of those who died right before you got out of the Vault. Previous Fallout games have you leaving a Vault to interact with the people who have set-up shop in the post apocalyptic wasteland 100+ years after the bombs fell, with complex trading routes established and various governing factions abound... but Fallout 76's setting is where there WAS a population of bomb-survivors established, but they all mysteriously died-out before you had a chance to meet with them.

THIS IS THE MAIN PLOT OF THE GAME.

The story of Fallout 76's campaign is the story of what happened, and why there are no survivors here anymore. Because there is no dialogue with living people, many Fallout Fans have dismissed this game and review-bombed it. Sorry you have to deal with that.

Instead, you interact with the deceased through the breadcrumbs they left behind - historical recordings, terminal entries, unfulfilled tasks, and robots executing their programs that were intended to be utilized, you know, while people were alive still. The stories of survival (and their failures) are best absorbed like a good book - My fallout 76 experience has been shooting, rummaging, then taking in a good story, then back to shooting. It makes you feel more like a detective than a Shoot-Em-Up movie star.

There is still plenty of absurdity, like the technicians who programmed their AI assistants to act like sarcastic jerks, robotic farmhands out to murder you because their automated composting routines "require more organic matter," the VaultTec experimental notes left behind in their clandestine University studies, and more. What you will NOT experience is the dialogue choices that let you chose the kind of character you want to be with NPCs. There is no dynamic dialogue with AI other than receiving information and quests from them, or turning in quest items, but even this static dialogue is amusing to me (especially when Mr. Fluffy insults his long-dead creator over his chili recipe).

The story is very dark and sad since it revolves around people's failed attempts to survive..l. there are so many tales about people trying to connect with family, children begging their vaporized parents to come back, victims trapped in closets and bunkers detailing their slow, fear-filled demise. There is story. It's harsh.

Gameplay is generally similar to Fallout4 since this game is essentially a massive, high-end Fallout4 mod. It uses the same basic principles for combat and crafting with tweaks here and there. VATS no longer stops time since it's an online game with shared live enemies; you can't pause other people's action by using VATS. You can build a small mobile CAMP that acts as your HQ for operations where ever you go, and there are no "settlements" since everyone died already due to the plot line.

The other big change is multiplayer - over the next several months people will be establishing themselves in in-game roles as they level-up and chose to start Role-Playing as a member of a faction trying to re-establish itself after the Lore Story wiped them all out. The fact that you're interacting with other humans instead of AI is going to influence your acceptability of this game. Most folks are happy to be around, some are trolls.

In the end, I enjoy the game for what it is.

in one day of playing, the game crashed twice. I had one visual bug. I expect these to be fixed over the next few months.

My real grips are the following:
Limits - I can't carry much, so I'll put it in storage. I can't put it in storage, so I will build a bigger base. I can't build a bigger base, because I already hit the base limit on day one. And since I can't have a companion, I lost more carrying capacity again

No interaction - No choices to be made. No good or bad decisions. It is a set story line and boring.

Scorched - Is there anything in this game other than scorched? They are everywhere. It feels like Bethesda didn't spend the time to create anything else.

Fundamentally - Yes, this game is fun in parts but its veneer is soon lost and highlights how empty and truly flawed of an experience it is. I want to leap up and defend the developer that graced my child and adult life but God they have made this a difficult task. I have found myself running mission to mission and event to event questioning what the purpose is for anything. Each holotape becomes as dull as the first and its got to a point where I just lost interest being attacked as I try read why everyone is questionably dead and I just have to accept it baby but don't worry they got their memoirs on the desk for you ;) The laughable bugs I come across have become anything but funny and quite sad at this point. Fallout has lost its soul and quite clearly the cash grab element is coming to light. What are players supposed to do in this world? Journalists and YouTubers alike praised the environmental story telling yet 85% of the locations are barren and regurgitated with spawning ferals popping out of the air as you find a corner of the workshop to cry in. I started asking my party 'what do we do now then?' and its just lets go... ummm.... We could ..... Try that cave again ... Yeah I am gonna scrap this stuff... i hate being over-encumbered ... My stash box is full ... Take a picture of this bug ... Probably going to log out now guys ... i have great fear that this will lose its core player base very quickly as people reach the end of their aimless quest lines and I don't blame them. To save a title like this Bethesda would have to completely overhaul the game and start listening to what their consumers love about their worlds. Is it going to happen. No it is not. Myself and many others have taken the financial hit on this and I thinks its a bust. Please invest your money in a company that listens to you and delivers a quality product. I have seen the price drop already quite considerably on key sites and this just reflects the market value depreciating at a rapid pace. Seriously Bethesda - quit making Fallout games.

This horrible lackluster online adaptation of Fallout is horrible. Graphics - horrible in today's market of ray tracing and supreme visuals.

Where is the story.. the interesting locations. Albeit there has been some thought from the location designers - you can see hint of what made Fallout fun in some of the backstories and locations, but where is the motivation to do cool things?

Bethesda seriously - you were the **** when it came to making open worlds to explore and make your impact in which ever way you chose.

I would list the problems with Fallout 76 in more detail but others here have hit upon most points I would make.

Bethesda, you alienated your fan base with Fallout 76. I wish that people that could have actually impacted the game would have spoken up and said how bad this game is before it was released so that corrections could have been made. I would have rather had no Fallout game than Fallout 76.

For my opinion this isn't a fallout game
NO RPG NO NPC NO STORY

this game is only a DLC
this game is simply a fallout version mixed with call of duty, just for the sake of shooting something, without any stimulation, no story, no multiple choice dialogs, no hard decisions, no ending to remember

How did they get everything so completely and utterly wrong?! It's definitively the worst Fallout title, and that's including the horrible hack 'n slash Brotherhood of Steel game from back in the day. Trust lost. I guess the company can really make an amazing Title when they were Financially facing ruin. now, not so much. Its clear from the start that this was a huge team effort, as its obvious that there was little communication between development teams.

I can talk about graphics, performance, but i think few minutes video would show you what to expect on youtube. I spent 30 hours in the game looking for something worth the price tag, and i just couldn't find it. I think most people just wanted to play Fallout co-op with their friends. no body asked for this, no body wanted it. and they sure as hell should have added a Hardcore mod. because right now PVP is laughable. And nuke codes are all over the place. not that it matter. you will be able to rebuild any lost base without any extra cost..
    this is a survival nightmare.

There are also social and network issues, which im going to give the benefit of the doubt. but they shouldn't have released. simple as that. this game needs at least 1 more year of development minimum... I don't even care about lack of NPCs, it just need a tonnes of polish, tonnes.

    New leadership at Bethesda please.

Playing solo is honestly depressing because it is literally like playing a mmorpg alone with no life in the world. "Human interaction" is nuance is fun in the first 30 minutes and then completely ruin the immersion because you fast realize there is no purpose in the game whatsoever and will find many many players just laughing or screaming, making noise in voice chat (no push to talk). No pvp because the only thing you can do is shoot to an enemy, dealing 1% of dmg and by doing this you send a duel invitation. PvP is literally just duels. There isn't the sense of survivng or constant threat that ANY other survival online can give you, because you cannot be killed by anyone iif you don't want to and viceversa. DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP.

I watched Videos of the Beta and read a lot about the Game before buying it. So i expected a game with Fallout 4 graphics, content, etc. but with multiplayer. I knew before that the game would be without NPC.

Since launch of the Game last week i have been playing until level 28 with my brother which is around 20 hours i think. So far we really enjoy the game. Graphics are as expected the same as Fallout 4 which does not bother me a bit because i like the way it is. I had no graphic glitches or anything so far.
Control and interface are quite intuitive. Of course the VATS has been changed because the slow motion would not be possible in multiplayer games. They way they implemented this feature is ok but I dont use it as often. The new Perk system is also ok because you can switch some cards while you dont need them and vice versa. One thing that bothers me is that you get random cards instead of having a whole selection. The Map is very big and the Places and Towns are interesting to explore.
The Worksop system is very nice. I like that you can claim some sites build a base and get some resources out of it. You have to defend that base from different attacks and other players can reclaim it.
With the CAMP you can build your own camp they way you like. The Stash is a bit too small and it is hard to manage your inventory with all the stuff you collect but as a realistic feature i kind of get it. It doesnt make sense to store tons of material just to make it available everywhere on the map. They implemented features like Food going to waste because they want to make it difficult to stay alive and keep you busy. So you really have to think about what you put in your box and try to manage your resources smart.
Questing in Fallout 76 is similar to the other Fallout games but instead of having a lot of NPCs you get to hear a lot of holo tapes and some Robots. I know that this is one of the biggest issues for a lot of people. But this was announced long before the launch and even without NPCs i find the game quite immersive. And for what i have seen so far, having no Humans in the Game is the Story of Fallout 76. Every one in this area died and you only see a lot of corpses and the people from the Vaults are to reclaim the Area. If i would be playing alone this would bother me more i guess, but since i bought the game to have a multiplayer experience this is fine for me.
The PVP element and how they implemented it is actually quite good. Before launch i was worried about high level players griefing others with power armors all the time. But having the option to fight back or just ignoring an enemy is very good. Its also nice that enemy player get wanted and are visible on the big map. You can hunt them down and get a bounty. I could not think of a better way to implement a PvP in such a game but also protect players who dont want to play this way.

So far i have experienced almost no bugs in the game. No Quest bugs so far. I had 2 game Crashes while saving a blueprint and sometimes i can not see my Teammate after joining the Team. But this is solved easily but rejoining the Team. Maybe i am lucky but for me the Game is very stable.

If you look for a game with the heavy quest system where you can choose between fractions and choose how you play the game (good or evil) and with that choose how your quest line will develope, you should look somewhere else. Play Skyrim, Fallout4 or Fallout NV. Anyway I am not sure how this would work in a multiplayer game. If my brother for example would start killing my quest "giver" and thereby choose a different path, for me the same path would be chosen automaticaly. I can imagine that this way of having 1000 options to play the game would be very hard to implement in a online multiplayer.

I think it is a good thing that they are trying to do something different. It would be a boring world if no one would try to do something in a different way. You can never satisfy everyone and you shouldnt.

(Funny how the people allways flame about the games after buying them "I want my money back" mimimi..... No one forces you to buy them before the game is launched. You can sit back relaxe and wait until the first gameplay videos and reviews arrive. Thats the way i do it. If i know that i will like the game, i will buy it.)

-A rushed game with many bugs
    -Why is it only online!!!

In short its a cash grab version of Fallout 4 with no mods and ton of bugs.

This game is an absolute disgrace and a symbol for the current gaming scene in 2018. Good software houses are being destroyed because greedy and ignorant shareholders have taken control. Greedy people who have never touched a videogame, who are pushing their developers to do as much as possible in the shortest time and with as little resources as possible. Good software houses are being destroyed because greedy and ignorant shareholders have taken control. Greedy people who have never touched a videogame, who are pushing their developers to do as much as possible in the shortest time and with as little resources as possible. That's why we have a 2018 game with a 90s graphic engine (yes exactly) which was originally wrote for multiplayer 33.6kb MMO's and 3dfx GPUs, then converted to a singleplayer only engine and is now being forced to work online again with broadband and modern hardware. A train wreck basically. No attention was put into the details, constantly you have to look for Jim, for Frank for Anna... they are all dead! They are all dead because there are no NPCs in this game. So you are forced to go look for a person but you know exactly he will just be a corpse because the whole mechanic doesn't exist. It's so incoherent, the gameplay is miserable, graphics look bad.. On the backend the situation is tragic, you can basically see the IPs of other players in plain text and the game speed is bound to the FPS (yes exactly, like they used to do in the 90s) and i could go on for days. If you buy this game without being an ignorant casual you deserve no respect. You are a short sighted person who rewards bad companies for bad work and i can only hope your actions won't lead other SH to follow. Expand

I have enjoyed every game in the FO universe. I have found myself playing each successive game longer and longer, with almost 450 hours in FO4. I had preordered FO76 and had my next computer upgrade sitting in my Amazon cart because as with FO4 i didn't want to be disappointed with the game due to my computer. Glade i waited on upgrading my PC cause it was so not worth an upgrade. FO4I have enjoyed every game in the FO universe. Glade i waited on upgrading my PC cause it was so not worth an upgrade. FO4 had its bugs when it came out, so i was prepared to have frustrations with the game on launch (we are not going to call it a BETA, as it was the end game anyway) and the bar was set really low, however Bugthesda managed to still miss the mark with FO76. 15 hours in i was already playing a different game, the tedious game of inventory manager. The whole "the stash limit is there for a reason, an important one" was the moment i requested a refund. This game is a money grab. No npc's, no story, and no communication. YouTube has covered the communities issues w/ the game so i wont rehash them all here but way to ruin a great franchise... Really not gonna launch the game on steam, instead force everyone to download yet another game launcher that knew how bad the game was and tried to save me from it? Really not gonna update and communicate with the "BETA" testers on your own forum? To their credit, they did refund my preorder with no fuss, maybe if Bugthesda learns its lesson it will all have been worth it. Expand

Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]

An unfinished game with bifurcated identity and in an almost dysfunctional state. It's hard to build on a bad base, that will never change. Like the war. [Issue#292]
