Thank you dev's, for giving us the much needed season 1 patch with the nerfs for sorcerers! We really needed that. Thought my def was waaaaay to strong and my dps was overpowered too. I gave it 9 at first. And up to lvl 70 I still think it can be 9. But endgame is not good.

Positives: Good story with nice dark atmosphere. Great core gameplay and graphics. Negatives: Repetitive annoying dungeon objectives. Renown - once its acceptable, cant imagine doing it again. Its gives me WoW Chorelands vibes and that is not good(PTSD trigger). Devs are very fast on nerfing

Devs are very fast on nerfing stuff (like mob density in dungeons) but very slow on buffing stuff like higher nightmare dungeons XP gain. Inventory and stash space are terrible and will not be fixed even in season 1. Levelling above 80 feels more like Vanila WoW than ARPG. Drops are also terrible. Did not get single upgrade for like 15 hours. If seasons are anything like this there is zero chance I will play them. Full respec price (talents+paragon) is crazy expensive. I have 40 mill gold and I could fully respec like twice. Which means I cant experiment with my own builds. Have to copy some tested build from the internet and even then have to think twice.

I also dont like paid cosmetic battlepass being exclusive to seasons - first you pay for it, then you have to grind it for 80 hours and on top of that you have to create new character for it. Like what? OW2 has seasonal battlepass which starts and ends with ranked season and yet you can grind it in unranked. No game with paid battlepass forces you to play one specific mode.

This game has huge potential. Like in my original 9/10 review - it can get there. Question is when and if. Right now its like 2 games in one. First one (story+early endgame up to 70 or even 75lvl) is fine. Endgame (80+) is just terrible. Does not respect your time and effort, is repetitive and hollow.

EDIT2: OK, 1.1 patch is up, read the patchnotes, played the game. They somehow downgraded the whole game. Now there is the biggest d**k in the salad. Stinks like WoW BfA and SL. Devs vision is terrible. Game over.

The recent patch honestly provoked me to write this after about 100 hrs of gameplay. The game is out of touch with the players, it's not very fun, the endgame is super lacking, and I didn't really care much at all about the plot. The ending was super lackluster and nothing about this experience felt rewarding and what they had left in grinding lvls or item hunting, is fully throttled and actively tweaked on the whim. If players find something that works, again, they patch it out because you can't have any classes designed to actually do well in this game. I can turn on Diablo 2 and replay it anytime, and have more fun, than anything offered by this brand new version. It's total crap.

Do not buy this game if you haven't already. Diablo 4 is a broken joke. Still broken quests, glitches, bait and switches with their patching. Another game focused on grabbing cash instead a consistent, satisfied player base.

There have been overarching problems with the quality of life such as storage space deficits, oversights to obvious exploitable content (pvp seeds are one example), and other issues that just make this game feel awful (unnecessarily long after death explosions, cold enchanted cc chains, etc.)

These last two have been addressed very recently, but it cements the fact that THEY HAVE NO FORESIGHT TO COMMON SENSE ISSUES. This is likely to be the theme moving forward and further supports the feeling that everyone keeps stating: This is just another beta test.

Terrible game. There was already no end game to speak of, with terrible itemization. Instead of fixing the problems they nerfed everything into the ground, made multiplayer pointless, and added limitations to reduce the speed in which you can get through their **** game. To them, "Fixing the endgame" was just ensuring that nobody wants to get there in the first place... nice development strategy.

Patch 1.1 ruined any hype there was for season 1. I’ll come back in a few seasons to see if anything’s changed. I don’t understand why Blizzard doesn’t want people to have fun. It’s kind of the point of a video game

I have never seen a studio that hates their players as much as Blizzard. This is the first time that I uninstalled a game due to completely absurd patch notes. It is so outlandish, so out of touch that it is honestly just comical at this point.

Already unhappy that they made it online only - when they have server problems, it means you don't get to play their $70-$90 game. The copious loot you could find in previous titles is now scarce, upgrading your gear ends by level 70 at best, and the unique artifacts in the game are laughably garbage. They DID make a massive map, but then wasted it on having the same mobs literally everywhere, so you don't *feel* like it's a massive map - the same generic setting of desert, jungle swamp, or forest spread over the map. I hate having spent money on this game. Expand

Game was mediocre when released but patch 1.1.0 made the game miserable to play. D3 might have been a mindless casual shell of a Diablo game, but at least it was fun to play for a week or two every few months because it rewarded you for playing instead of D4 which almost punishes you for playing.

Blizzard has continued to hone the "how to lengthen player interaction" idea to an extreme at this point. This game is no longer a power fantasy where you are smashing the minions of hell, you're too busy tp'ing back to town to refill your health potions after every fight with a random mob to be able to fantasize about anything.

It was fun for a very brief moment but now it’s a mess with a pointless season and an aimless direction other than to stretch as much out of the content as possible. While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
