    The game is absolute garbage. From start of pre season to this very moment it has been nothing but disconnections. Lag spikes that last 30 or more seconds. Allocate a skill point thats a disconnect. Try to get on your horse disconnect. Someone leveled up half a map away thats a disconnect. Disconnect in a nightmare dungeon gotta get a new sigil. Loot drops have been basically cut in half. Everything can one shot you off screen so in hell tides your cinders get cut in half and can't open anything. Everything in this game is built to make you hate even playing it. Maybe if the developers can take 3 seconds of verbally and emotionally abusing women maybe the game would be partly enjoyable.… Expand

    bad communication between players.. repetitive... slow to lvl up, bad balance between classes, the price is too high for what it offers, the end of the game few things to do.
    boring and repetitive. weak game play... big price.. Score 0 is good to him.

    Do not waste your money on this terrible MMORPG. It should be the game to provide the fun to player who bought this game, but this game is keeping treating player by nerf. It is unfriendly game and it will jeopardize your health (especially your brain).

    Im so convinced that the ppl who made decision don't play this game at all. The game has so much potential. But ruined by the those balance patches. Lots unnecessary nerfs make this game less fun to play. They really want ppl playing with their way. Why you do that to a almost single player game. We just want to kill some mobs and farm gears.     The execution, however, was extremely rough and much worse compared to previous competitions. It seemed as though they threw away everything they learned from "Diablo 3" and decided to repeat the same mistakes.
    They adopted the disliked RNG (Random Number Generator) type from D3 and amplified it tenfold.
    The endgame design was extremely foolish. Imagine having only daily and world quests in "World of Warcraft," but your equipment self-destructs, and you have to replace it every week for no apparent reason.    … Expand

    Wow, where to begin. My PC is on the upper end of the spectrum, it's not tip top but it should easily run this game. My experience with this game since launch was one of constant massive frame rate drops due to a game breaking VRAM issue where the textures from zones would not clear as I entered new zones (I was running a GTX 3070). Blizzard refused to admit to the issue until veryWow, where to begin. My PC is on the upper end of the spectrum, it's not tip top but it should easily run this game. Blizzard refused to admit to the issue until very recently, making me and other players question if our system specs were to blame, but finally admitted to the problem and said they were going to fix it with the new patch. Unfortunately, the new patch basically broke the rest of the game. Sure, now I can play without all the frame rate drops, but now they want us to pay for the battle pass in a play to win scheme. If you want to have a viable character you are more or less required to buy the battle pass. I would have hoped they would have learned a lesson about this behavior from the Diablo 3 release, but alas, is seems they are doomed to repeat their mistakes. Even with the frame rate drops I would have been willing to continue playing the game and even buy the battle pass just for the aesthetic bonuses, but now given the blatant greed on display I will be moving on. I understand the need to fix game breaking builds like the druids ability to do a billion point hit, but the nerfs they introduced have broken legitimate builds that were fun to play. Hopefully they will roll back this nonsense in the upcoming patch, but until then I will be gaming elsewhere.… Expand

    What is the Diablo IV killer?
    Path of Exile? NO.
    Baldurs Gate III? NO.
    Blizzard Entertainment? Absolutely yes. The game is dead now with the new season 1 patch. I cannot dedicate another set of hundreds of hours to grind from level 1 to 100, with the bloody nerfed characters. Go screw yourself Blizzard.

    Blizzard is awful. They hate their players and see them as no more than bags of money from which to exploit. Our time isn't valuable to them. Well it's valuable to me, and i'm going to treat it so by not playing another second of this terrible game.

    Diablo 4 is all about money money money. Balancing issues in gameplay, character classes and equipment. Insufficient or repetitive content, players get bored or feel like they've exhausted the game's possibilities too quickly. Lack of compelling end-game content. Poor communication from the developers and inadequate community management.

I bought it solely to play single player, and was extremely disappointed that I couldn't turn off the online gaming aspects (I was able to disable cross-platform). Teleporting, rubber-banding, freezes, stutters... they were all there, constantly. During peak gaming hours the game was unplayable.
    Second, there just isn't a lot of game here. The    First, the server lag crushed this game. I bought it solely to play single player, and was extremely disappointed that I couldn't turn off the online gaming aspects (I was able to disable cross-platform). Teleporting, rubber-banding, freezes, stutters... they were all there, constantly. During peak gaming hours the game was unplayable.
    Second, there just isn't a lot of game here. The pacing is horrible. You will have maxed out your character skills before you are even 50% through the main quest line. You will have gotten pretty optimized loot by the time you hit about level 40, and after that you will game entire evenings without upgrading a gear slot. Instead you will spend tons of time looking at every piece of loot, just to decide it isn’t that good and needs to be sold to the vendors.
    Speaking of vendors – why? I played the entire game without buying a single thing from the vendors, ever. They never offered upgrades! I played the entire game without using a single potion (other than healing potions). Even gems were boring – and I was astonished to see that gems are maxed out by level 30ish. Because your skills are maxed out at level 40, about half of the entire game you press the same skill buttons over and over and over… for every encounter.
    Bottom line, the game was a well-produced, but poorly designed, repetitive slogfest. It provided a couple of weeks of laggy diversion… and I will forget about it within hours of deleting it from my PC. I think it is over-priced for the entertainment value.    … Expand

Half the dev's left during the development when they discovered that Bli$$ is just after the $$$, and don't give a monkeys about the gameplay or the gamers. 60% of this minimum viable productGuess everyone got scammed by Megan Fox's boobies, Bli$$ knows exactly how to remove fun from games, they became masters at this!     Bugs are everywhere, the druid feels like Winnie the Pooh, and if you add the poor excuse for a horse, you have the perfect Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore combination - useless beyond believe! Apparently the poor excuse for the lack of stash, is that it takes too much memory to load another players items in their stash when they are near your player!! HAHA what a dumb a$$ made up excuse. Everyone knows they want players to pay for more stash tabs.. good old Bli$$

    Creation of the entire game was replicated in a week by one guy (check YouTube). That is saying a lot. Game is a scam. Hollow and hopeless. Shame on you! I hope you get what you deserve for this lazy projects.    … Expand

I was disheartened reading the patch notes, but I gave the game a chance. I made 2 characters for the season and leveled them decently, and it was a significantly terrible experience compared to the launch.     I play mage... ONLY 2 builds are viable. We're unfairly squishy. And they nerfed our damages. And the "only 2 builds" require to be meelee ... a mage -> meelee + squishy = OS. Soooooo diablo 4 is the last blizzard game having no mage .... congratz Blizzard. if I could I would ask for a refund. Awful patch 1.1 . If only I could hurt you and change the way you're making the game...

But after all the activision money grubbing fingers got into the mix the game is designed just as poorly as diablo immortal, nothing about it screams “we are making this game because we are inspired by the franchise” it all screams “how can we best monetize this corpse of blizzard” The devs are out of touch and way too nerf happy as soon as any fun is detected they are immediately taking the game down for maintenance patches but if there’s problems with basic gameplay or people unable to enjoy because of a bug it takes 3 weeks to even get a response. Seems the devs only job is to make sure players are playing the game they want it to be played at all times. They are forcing longevity with immense boring pointless grinds and holy grail items you will never see instead of letting people make a character fun and then compete against others in leaderboards as the tried and true way. Now it’s just some pointless level 100 that takes 500 hours of nonsensical grinding which they continue to nerf and make more difficult if we find ways to make it enjoyable or easier. Game 10/10

    basically a mobile game. id love a refund to be fair. i played about 40 lvls, haven't even killed Lilith. i just cant be bothered. its so very boring. scaling makes it feel like a chore. no item i have gone ooo wow lets goo! the battle pass, not buying it just makes me not want to participate going forward. gj on that. i have 1000s hours on d2,3. so way to kill the game for me.

It's insane that the massive company fixated on unnecessarily making this game an always-online pseudo-MMO can't get basic network stability right.

    Assuming you're able to log into this always-online wonderland, until level 70 or so the game is great, it returns to the gothic horror of earlier Diablos rather than the Saturday morning superhero cartoon of Diablo 3. The story and quests are interesting and contains subtlety that has eluded Blizzard for at least a decade.

    However you'll spend the majority of your time in an endgame designed by people who are surprised that players don't like being chain-CC'd, oneshot from offscreen, or playing around on-death effects. For a company that helped create the ARPG genre and should have decades of institutional knowledge, not to mention years of iteration on the Diablo 3 endgame, this instalment appears to be created from scratch by amateurs who think that their 1997-era bad ideas are the most profound thing ever. Combined with Blactivision's unquencheable thirst for goodwill-destroying cash-grabs, your experience after finishing the story will truly be an eternal grinding hell of random deaths and worthless loot.

    World bosses are interesting until you hit world tier 3, after which they literally die in 5 seconds. The damage formula has obvious issues around stacking and build-warping and bucket accessibility, but Blizzard's galaxybrains couldn't figure that out during years of development, and need to be scolded by paying customers to understand. Seasons are an obvious content recycling scheme that would be less distasteful if they actually added significant changes, but it's a tiny questline and some legendary gems from Diablo 3. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the casual and hardcore players left before Season 2 to play a better game, really anything else.    … Expand

    Exploring the mechanics and story simultaneously was the interesting part of the game, yet putting a critical eye on the ARPG experience there was some glaring issues that was clearly brought up by the community the very first days. These issues only worsened after finishing the story at level 50, and got practically unbearable at approximately level 70. There isn't a sense of achievement or fun, since the game itself is easy but the mechanics thoroughly unfair.

    D4 has ultimately not been designed for accessible experimentation and fun progression in mind, and constantly seen to demand from the player the typical "you have to suffer for 200 more hours before the fun starts". Off-screen attacks that kill you instantly. Constant stuns, freezes, fears etc. that combo into each other, removing the player's agency and ultimately killing you. Getting stuck on invisible terrain, and many other disappointing things. All the while the stash tabs completely fill up with unending, uninteresting gear with strange, low-roll stats, and the way to a coherent build feels clunky.

    With all the new players attracted to the genre and game from false hype, (Blizzard hasn't been the Blizzard we knew for many many years) there was many questions about the seasonal content. Why force the players to replay a tedious part of the game to make your builds work? Why punish the eternal realm players by not including season pass there, too? Why refuse to add more stash tabs and functions to help players wade through the endless junk that is forced into the stash? Why not make aspects and other statistics upgradeable for a better sense of progression? Later, as the casual players came further into the game, they also started asking about the unfair mechanics, the class imbalances and artificial roadblocks that was put in place for seemingly no reason.

    Blizzard ultimately answered with a massive nerf to absolutely everything that crippled many of the characters on the eternal realm, and made the apparent issues even more oppressive. The season mechanics themselves are uninspiring and suffer from the same issues - filling the few stash tabs you have even faster and with equally disappointing things.

    Ultimately, the game is not worth it, and will probably never be since Path of Exile 2 will fill the void and blow this game out of the water if and when Diablo 4 finally, maybe, starts getting somewhere.    … Expand

    This is such a horrible game. I was able to play till Level 54 and then have not been able to connect. I keep encountering the notorious 34202 error consistently.     They have good looking game that is designed in order to have you play over the threshold set to request reimbursement. i wish i could get my money back but is the last time i trust blizzard.     Items you should be trying to get are rarer than hitting the bit prize in lottery twice in the same week. You have a horse that should be fun riding it but is just annoying every time it clips with literal nothing and invisible BS, no trading system, scaling difficulties only make you not want to level up anymore ever again.     I have been playing Diablo since the first. I have generally enjoyed playing these games. I approached DB4 with high expectations and was genuinely satisfied with the game--for the most part. Then the 1st big update came out and ruined it. GG on another fail blizzard.

Secondly, why am I going around getting the same waypoints again for s1, same dungeons for the aspects, same everything... wth make new content or make doing renown again fun.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. IF anyone thinks this is an online game is absolutely wrong. There is nothing online about this game. This game is a solo player game and doesn't even need to be online. Why do I see other players????
    Why is there an open world of nothing and boring stuff for me to run through????

    The items are boring they give no power the stats are lame. Farming literally the same item over and over and over is so boring!!! They literally took the worst stat from the D2 oculus (teleport to a random location) and put it on the oculus in D4. **This is what a real item look like**

    The visuals of the game are awful. I played with my friends who was a necromancer and he used an ability that would cover the screen with this dark cloud. I had no idea where I was or what the hell was happening on the screen.

    I really wish they would give me a refund. They got me once with **** diablo 3 and for some reason I fell for it again in diablo 4. I won't ever play another diablo game again. I've lost all love for blizzard gaming.    … Expand

    This was my first time playing a Diablo game, was okay at first then came nerf after nerf after nerf, repetitive reused fights that are dull and bland, and items they continue to add in that you will never see in your entire lifetime. Will never buy another Diablo game again and would honestly like my money back

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
