    Enjoyed the game from launch up until the endgame, where the game started to come apart. I figured I’d hold out and see if they would fix all of the issues, but unfortunately, they blatantly disregarded all of them.

    Blizzard clearly doesn’t give a care about any of the players and their problems with the game. Blizzard is going to do what Blizzard wants to do. And you, the player, should    Enjoyed the game from launch up until the endgame, where the game started to come apart.     Blizzard clearly doesn’t give a care about any of the players and their problems with the game. Blizzard is going to do what Blizzard wants to do. And you, the player, should do what you should do. Don’t buy this game if you’re going to play it for anything more than a couple hours a week. There is no endgame content apart from one boss fight that gives no rewards and high level nightmare dungeons that still drop sacred items (LOL)!

    All in all, don’t bother. Blizzard will run this game into the ground in true Blizzard fashion. So many terrible things about the game, that the good things don’t even come close to outweighing them.    … Expand

    The game started out great it was fun exciting challenging rewarding. Before their "update patch" that is nothing but a giant nerf to every aspect of the game just to push a battle pass system. Buyers remorse for a 100.00 game should have stayed on warframe

    I played D4 both betas and since day 1 pre-launch as a sorc main. I play around 10-15 hours per week and I never hit 100, I got to around level 81 in Season 0. I was really looking forward to starting a new character on season 1, however, Blizzard Nerf'ed the sorc class and reduced the leveling speed by a lot. They also made enemies stronger. As a sorc main, this class isn't viableI played D4 both betas and since day 1 pre-launch as a sorc main. I play around 10-15 hours per week and I never hit 100, I got to around level 81 in Season 0.     Too slow, not fun to play at all. Instead of buffing the worst performing builds they nerfed everything to the level of the worst performing builds and nerfed them further

    I had high hopes for this game. It's clear that Blizzard is prioritizing time played as their KPI vs player base. Their tone deaf nerfs to basically everything eliminates my enjoyment as a casual player. It's hard to justify doing the same thing over again ONLY WEAKER AND SLOWER. Tabling this game for the time being to enjoy something else.

    Blizzard killed the best thing about Diablo: the loot!! "legendaries" are a poor substitute for uniques. So much of the fun of Diablo used to be building characters that used uniques in, well, unique ways. Hell, just finding one was great. Now I dont even get a jump in the heartbeat when one drops because it will only be mats for something from the    it was fun right until it wasnt

    Damage nerfed, defense nerfed, helltide nerfed, leveling nerfed, builds nerfed, sorceress is my main class in every diablo and it basically got nerf deleted.

For Diablo 4, they pulled a bait and switch. Game priced up, sold, then they spent the first month gathering data on how to rebalance the game to spread their contentClassic bait and switch.     Apparently more important for this small indie company is to make sure there is new transmog in realmoney shop instead of fixing like login and networking issues.

    Diablo 4 patch 1.1 proves the devs are out of touch with the community and do not listen to us.     Now seasons have started and you can't even get on to play, I highly recommend anyone new to avoid this game, I think it's gonna take the devs years to re-learn what they learned in D3 and re-implement the various improvements they decided to skip.

    They released an unfinished game which is missing the last 30-40% of content, and then keep making patches to pad out playtime on the small amount of content they shipped the game with. Not worth your money

    Very Grindy, unrewarding game with boring items and builds. Blizz killed what little fun there was before the first season by slowing down skills, gameplay, and experience so that they could artificially keep players logged in and driven toward their seasonal microtransaction journey. Wish I could get a refund, as a long time fan of the series I DO NOT recommend!

    Campaign was good but after finishing it, the game died. i feel scammed by Blizzard and I know for sure that many other players are feeling the same too.

    Save your money and don't buy.

    There are honestly so many wrong things about this game and blizzard that not even 5000 characters are enough to begin with. If you are into ARPGs just go play PoE 2 or Last Epoch, which are imo the only 2 best options on the genre. I cannot believe i spent 70 dollars on this, trully unbelievable

For me it's hard to understand how blizzard with all their experience can completely go away from the successful game design of D2 and basically just produce a well shaped copy of D3.     Apart from itemisation and lack of lategame, this game feels lonly as **** Can you believe that there is no LFG funktion?? not even a global chatlobby... the only way to chat global is the tradechannel, which nobody uses because trading in this game is trash!!! not even professional goldsellers are using the trade channel XD.
    Next is the class balancing. ITS a joke... the differences between the classes regarding content clearing are huge.
    The only good thing about the game was the Story. but that ends latest with lvl 50. Then you have a senseless boring grind in front of you, which most likely won't be rewarding at all from lvl 80 on.
    And it is not that D4 has a toxic fanbase or anything... Content creators and gamers in general did spent a lot of time to give qualitiy feedback. There was not a lack of interest from the communitiy towards game development and blizzard got a lot of input. But what they are doing with it??? Seems like they pretend to take is serious just to throw it right into the dumpster before patch release.
    I Cannot recommend anybody to buy that game.... Should have given 1-2/10 points because the early game was fun but i rearly want to push the score as low as possible.    … Expand

    Just made an account so I can throw some meat at this abomination. The game is truly unplayabale after 1st season started. Loading screens take ages when You Tp from one location to another, lags are the only thing that actually make You get killed while playing on the 2nd level world.     A very expensive game. Littered with bugs. Customer support non-existent. S1 patches make no sense. It was fun for 20 hours or so. Then it was a grind, with the patches now….barely playable. The dev should really try to actually play the game they are developing

Season 1 release, if you're lucky enough to log in and not in an infinite que, you get hit by rubber banding and invisible walls everywhere. Loading into a new area or dungeon results in loading hang and you have to alt f4 and restart and jump back into que. When you get back in, don't bother trying to load into a new area because you get the same result. Blizzard support is nearly non-existent or completely useless. How does a season 1 release have so many more issues than both launch days?

    Honestly so disappointing, the game, how little ActiBlizz cares about it's fan base. It's amazing anyone even supports them anymore. Been playing blizzard games since I was 10 starting with OG startcraft, diablo and warcraft. Then into WoW, D2/LOD. This game doesn't even compete with D2/D2R.

    And then came the patch... absolutely killing the little bit of fun there was in the game. The devs obviously don't understand their own game.

    Where are all the quality of life changes? And the new content for season 1?

    The loot system, another pillar of the franchise, takes a significant hit in Diablo 4. Discovering compelling gear feels lackluster, as the majority of uniques and rare items are often underwhelming or outright useless. Obtaining uber uniques, the pinnacle of gear, feels like an unattainable dream for most players, leaving us disenchanted and longing for the joy of uncovering powerful items that define our builds.

    Adding to the disappointment is the limited storage space, exacerbated by the addition of gems, aspects, potions, and sigils, forcing players to choose between hoarding valuable items or making progress. Tedious inventory management hinders immersion in the game's world, rather than enhancing it.

    Character development suffers as well. Switching to a different build becomes an arduous task without a straightforward respec option, as players are left manually forgetting each node. This oversight demonstrates a disregard for player convenience and enjoyment.

    To make matters worse, any elements of fun or power that players discover are swiftly subjected to heavy-handed nerfs. Instead of embracing player enjoyment in mastering a particular playstyle or build, the developers suppress any sense of empowerment, leading to a frustrating sense of stagnation and discouragement.

    In conclusion, Diablo 4's lack of quality of life features and its tendency to obliterate anything enjoyable are disheartening aspects of a once-celebrated franchise. The absence of hordes of demons and the abysmal loot system dampen the excitement that once defined the series. Limited storage space and cumbersome character respec mechanics further contribute to the overall feeling of neglect towards player satisfaction.

    Blizzard had an opportunity to create a masterpiece that would captivate old and new fans alike. Instead, Diablo 4 stands as a cautionary tale of how a beloved franchise can falter when its core essence is disregarded.     The season patch is very horrible. Built a character around certain things. Min, Max... and showed up to see that the things I thought were going to be around and it's just dead.

    As a D2 Veteran I was very disappointed with D3 at launch and I'm sad to say that I'm even more disappointed with D4 at launch than I was with D3.
    Like others have said, the story is amazing but I recommend that you save your money until Blizzard fixes the myriad of issues that D4 has.

    Game is a JOKE! Season pass one is full of bugs can't even move around the map without getting stuck CAN'T GET TO MISSIONS! Can't complete missions. LOAD TIMES take for ever so have to control alt delete to get out of the game to restart and be queued for ages!!!

    The game was fun to play through at least one time, but making multiple characters was a tedious waste of time. The latest patch has ruined even the single-playthrough experience. Everything is more difficult and it just isn't worth the time even once.

    To start, the servers were an absolute disaster at launch. It's mind-boggling how a game of this magnitude could have such a catastrophic server failure. It's as if they didn't anticipate the number of players eager to try the game, leaving us all stranded with connection issues and unable to even access the content we had paid for.

    The so-called "changes" the developers implemented have been nothing but infuriating. They seem to have a sadistic pleasure in making players rebuild their characters repeatedly, rendering any progress made in the game completely futile. I invested time and effort into building a character that I enjoyed, only to have it stripped away by an ill-conceived patch.

    The lack of availability of the season pass for months was simply inexcusable. Players who were looking forward to additional content and rewards were left in the dark for an unacceptable amount of time. It's like the developers couldn't be bothered to address their own issues, let alone keep the player base engaged with new content.

    Perhaps the most infuriating aspect of this whole ordeal is the developer's response to players' legitimate concerns. Instead of acknowledging the problems and promising to improve, they have the audacity to tell us to "play another game." How disrespectful can a game development team be to its loyal fanbase?

    The state of the Diablo 4 community is a testament to the developers' blatant disregard for their players. The community is not just unhappy; it's enraged and demoralized. We had high hopes for this game, but instead, we received a slap in the face with every poorly managed decision the developers made.

    In conclusion, Diablo 4's recent patch has been a complete disaster. The game is in shambles, and the developers' lack of communication and understanding of their player base has caused irreversible damage. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this game to anyone.     Had a blast with this game when released, then came the nerfs prior to S1. Feels like Blizz does this with every game they put out. Players enjoy the game and then devs nerf everything into the ground to make it more of a grind. If you are planning on purchasing this title, I'd wait until they either fix their mistakes or play something else and keep the $70.

    I swear to god you will regret buying it. I don't even have motivation to play the first day of the first season until poe reset. I entered the game and waited 5 minutes to enter the first dangeon and crashed. It's been more than 3 hours season start still cant login :D I payed for this game :D It is the most expensive game in my inventory :D

    Absolute rubbish.. never have I felt so bad for spending that much money on a game... everything feels like a mechanic in place to keep you locked into the game as long as possible, and almost nothing feels as if it's in place because they want you to have genuine fun.. oh and no trading, yanky mechanics, rubbish endgame and the list goes on and on

    It was fun and exciting for the campaign, but after that, you level for a bit and progress somewhat when you can explore Nightmare Dungeons, or do Hell Tides, or just farm content. However, you quickly hit a wall in which you cannot progress. This was further amplified by the constant nerfs the developers implemented in various parts of the game.

    The game, now, is no longer something you are able to play and enjoy to reach player power increases. It is, unfortunately, made even worse by the considerable stat affixes that are amazing but never roll on your gear. This frustration is compounded by the introduction of the challenge of farming enough gold to, enable what should be a switch in character builds or specializations only limited by the random drops in the game, and not, be for paying for every system required for the switch. Thus, pulling you deeper into a downward spiral of a time sink, severly limiting play and forward momentum. This will only be exacerbated more during the seasons, when you have a time crunch and also a reset factor. Resent nerfs have made it even worse, clearly designed around the, now clearly apparent philosophy of ABK that: "time spent = content."

    I have already wasted my 120 dollars on this piece of garbage software that is now lining my recycle bin on my desktop. This is the first game in the franchise that I have ever uninstalled and stopped playing due to dissatisfaction with, not only the current version of the game, but also the deep flaws that exist in the character designs and key game mechanics/systems.

    Hold on to your precious dollars. There hundreds of better titles out there. Wait for the expansion and re-evaluate, in my opinion.

    - Monsters and difficulty levels are scaled up according to your level, so every time, every type of monster represents the same difficulty. There is barely any challenge in fighting with the mobs in this game.
    - Quests are very repeatable, and their main purpose is to push you into another corner of the map just in case you forgot to waste your time on useless grinding
    - Dungeons are repeatable as well. There are a few types of dungeons: short corridor + single room or short corridor + one cavern where you have to fight against a tiny group of enemies. A few seconds later, you can leave the place with a supertiny amount of exp and crapy loot. Please believe me - loading time takes longer than completing such dungeons. More complex dungeons are built from pre-configured coarse-grained modules, so after 3rd map, you can see the pattern: there is always a roundabout, and there is always a need to collect two things (keys, boxes, parts) that have to be delivered to the gate/blocked passage which leads to the big cavern/room with the boss. Always.
    Loot...loot is boring. Do you remember how every weapon, armor, or other stuff had a unique look and feel in Diablo 1? Forget about it in Diablo IV. A few repeatable shapes of each type (with slightly different colors) of your equipment in a multi-gigabyte game in 2023...
    Stats? Percentages and meaningless variables that you barely notice after a few hours.
    - Skills? Hahaha, Blizzard wanted to copy at least some tiny part from successful competitor PoE, so they added a skill tree. Tiny. Boring. Useless.
    There are plenty of issues like this, and neither DLC nor season will fix it because the game is absolutely boring and destroyed at its core.
    One of the most amazing things in Diablo was the cinematics. I played and progressed to the next Act mainly to watch the story development through outstanding pre-rendered animations.
    In Diablo IV most of the cinematics were played using the game engine.

    The nerf killed progress on the eternal realm for my barbarian build which they completely nerfed. And I started playing season 1 but its more of the same nerfing that makes you realize it's not worth it. Blizzard made a fun game and turned it into a horrible game. I'm nerfing their score in return.

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
