    Diablo4 development team works really hard to make the game boring. Rather than buffing other builds, they decided to make every build bad in order to get to the 'balance'. I was a Blizzard fan, spent countless time on their game, but Diablo4 will be my last Blizzard game and never trust Blizzard again in my life.

    Game could be good but not now. Currently, it not polished at all. You can read a lot of reviews and critics on the internet so I'll keep them.
    What real problem is Blizzards lied and they don't care about that. I'm not talking about some fun things but real lies. Many of contents listed on pre-order are missing and they keep silence about that.

    At the time writing this review, here are the issues: 1. No real end game; Only Nightmare Dungeons, Echo of Lilith and PvP to fill the entirety from 50 to 100. 2. Nightmare Dungeons with no    Diablo IV at its core HAD potential to be a great ARPG, instead it was squandered by making inane changes to the game in its first major patch instead of fixing glaring issues since launch.

    At the time writing this review, here are the issues:
    1. No real end game; Only Nightmare Dungeons, Echo of Lilith and PvP to fill the entirety from 50 to 100.
    2. Nightmare Dungeons with no competitive features and stale bosses. No leader board, dungeon's end boss is often times much easier than the rest of the dungeon.
    3. Lack of attention from the developers with gear. Over 95% of the unique gear you receive is complete garbage due to its stats being useless for its intended build. (Gohr's with attack speed???)
    4. Trigger happy nerfs. Instead of buffing the weaker classes, the developer chose to nerf the better classes.
    5. No respect for the players' time. With Season 1 drawing closer, the developer's idea of fixing the lack of end game, is to make everything that are needed to be done take longer. Lesser mob density, lesser experience gained, lesser damage etc. Having to take longer to do the same thing in the pre-season is simply appealing.

    Diablo IV at its current iteration is not worth the purchase. You might want to check back after Microsoft has a better handle on Blizzard.    … Expand

    STAY AWAY from this game. what a waste of money.Played Hardcore level 85 server lag (helltide) not even nightmare dungeon and I died. fix your server. world feels completely empty. no new boss or anything. new season sucks.

    patch 1.1 was the nail in the coffin for this dying game. People play games for fun. to escape dreaded lives sometimes even... And Blizzard has this destructive pphilosophy, where if a player having fun in a game, then that must be stopped some how. All in the name of "Balancing".... ARPG without the action. What a wasted opportunity, it turned out this way.

    Uninstalling after the Season 1 patch. Had high hopes for the game and enjoyed it for a bit, but then the season 1 patch came and it's just a horrible, slow, slog for no actual game. This is an ARPG, not Stardew Valley. Fast pace, good and varied loot, and great bosses are a must and D4 now fails on every single one of those.

    Diablo 4 is atm the best example to see a gaming company disconnects with their own player base, infuriate all fans and gamer and kill the game with the patch for the 1st season in this new released game.
    It's insane, disappointing and discouraging at once. I have no idea how they can fix it, but if they don't fix it..that might be the last Diablo game we will experience.

    Still, I was looking forward to playing the season, mostly because i felt i was still owed something after paying £60 and getting something half cooked. So then comes patch day - and i'm reading the patch notes - i sort of glazed over. It felt like my brain was slowly falling away like a wet cake. Nothing new, or exciting. No much needed, glaringly obvious class adjustments. No inventory changes. No essential endgame goals - nothing whatsoever to keep you hungry. No changes to the excruciatingly droll dungeon mechanics - one shots, bombs, stormbane, etc but we did get an increased lootpool... but its in single digits. Ultimately - it was a flat, 30 - 40% net stat reduction. Builds that were interesting, fun to play and usually crafted over long hours now lay completely broken due to the CDR% shrink.
    The patch was cobbled together on the back of a **** packet as a lazy attempt at artificially extending its shelf-life by decreasing the power of the player - without any regard for its outcome, without providing any alternative and without any consideration for how it would impact what is essentially the beating heart of any ARPG - your talents/skills and build. A truly underwhelming and frankly despairing effort. I'm relieved i won't be returning. 1/10    … Expand

That is called very ugly and violent to force players to get harder to reach NM dungeon 100. But now some characters still can solo 100 but others only can reach around 50-60. Blizzard only cares about the game business and want to extend the cycle of the game without any efforts and reject to admit the lack of test and balance analysis before selling it. It is a shame on Blizzard who is too ugly and did not have qualification to make good games.… Expand

    I wanted to like the game. I spent hundreds of hours in it. I reached 100, I tested several builds (and yes, a few were overpowered, and should've been tuned down a notch, but Blizzard has decided to nerf everything across the board, the only ones who enjoy it are those coping to defend their purchase).
    I won't be playing season 1.

    Camera distance is made to enjoy your character hair follicles making u have 0 awareness and getting one shot by mobs that are outside your screen and sometimes even behind a wall!
    Lacking searches in stash where u need to manually read all items and aspects in order to find the 1 thing u looking for. Have no loot filters in this game either! I cant even talk to ppl and there isnt even a proper chat system or ANY grouping feature implemented. All they do since day 1 is to tweak classes while the lack of simple and basic features makes the game feel like 1991! The only ppl that do good work on D4 are the ppl in graphics design team.. then comes the clueless like Rod and his monkeys and destroys everything beatiful the art team created with their absolutely horrible systems like renown , decisions to slow the game leveling and the pace of killing monsters and now even the survivability of players... while also have done 0 work on implementing ANY feature that the game should never been released without! I am sorry ,but not sorry, Rod have to be fired for sure, the guy have a clue as much as a barber who never seen a PC in his life. This game feels like in Alpha stage and i will not support this until season 238 where the game might actually have some basic features implemented! I hope Diablo 23 will be good enogh and me still alive. As it seems Blizzard are no longer the company they were .. ppl should stop support them out of nostalgia and fond memories!     I was a huge fan of Diablo. I played both 2 and 3 was super excited for D4. I played the open Bata weekend and the server slam shelled out 90 bucks for early access. When I bought the game I wanted to play a sorcerer got to lvl 30 did not have as much fun with it as I had playing the Bata ended up playing a rouge instead. I hate that I have not gotten what I wanted out of this game but II was a huge fan of Diablo. I played both 2 and 3 was super excited for D4. I played the open Bata weekend and the server slam shelled out 90 bucks for early access. When I bought the game I wanted to play a sorcerer got to lvl 30 did not have as much fun with it as I had playing the Bata ended up playing a rouge instead.     Casual player review. They absolutely destroyed a fun game with their most recent patch 1.1 I used to be able to log in after work run a few dungeons and level every hour or so. Now after the patch with damage nerf, survivability nerf, XP hugely nerfed i spent 2 hour and baeely leveled 3/4 of a level and died over a total of 16 times when i used to rarely die.

    wonky cash grab. unoptimized classes. Dev's have probably never played the game or ever tried all the classes. Blizzard tends to check popular builds online and then just insta nerf them into the ground. The hate for sorcerers seems like the devs have childhood trauma & PTSD caused by their uncles dressing in a Gandalf costume and buggering them silly in a windowless van with no candy afterwards.

    Pretty sure these devs actually hate their player base. Everything the players do for efficiency or fun gets nerfed. Ability to even survive gets nerfed. And the idea behind “chaser uniques” is absolutely idiotic. They’re something like a 1 in 800,000 chance to obtain. So basically you won’t find one. Ever. Feels bad… but I guess that’s their game philosophy. No fun for you.

    Blizzard releases incomplete game, then instead of fixing boring itemisation and non-existent endgame they slow down players in every possible way: xp nerf, monster buff, item nerf, player damage nerf, player survivability nerf, longer to teleport out of dungeons-- to artificially increase the time a player spends getting to endgame (of which there is none). They addressed exactly 0 of the popularly raised legitimate concerns: affix bloat and poor itemisation (they added yet more useless affixes), unpowered skills were untouched, clunky mount mechanics, resistances are literally broken (read: not working), backtracking in dungeons, boring events, lack of variety in dungeon bosses, poor mob density (addressed in patch notes but not changed yet), uniques for an entire class are trash, uber uniques may aswell not exist, CDR nerfed.

    If you want to pay $100 to beta test their game for them, go for it. If not, play literally anything else and check back in a couple of years when the game is finished.    … Expand

I told myseft "they'll definitely fix it during time or maybe earlier than D3 from when it started" . Now? After those horrible "balances" I have no more hope at all. Last patch just single handedly killed even those few fun activites which keeped me to play and wait for season.When I started to play D4, every time I run into some kind of bug or very boring, limiting part of gameplay.     On release, the game had quite a few issues.
    * Gearing is bad (you're literally only looking for % damage increases or your classes main stat), the mods on items have conditionals but you simply just don't use mods with conditionals that aren't up close to 100% of the time.
    * The horse is an absolute insult, it's barely faster than walking on foot even if if worked correctly and it does    On release, the game had quite a few issues.
    * Gearing is bad (you're literally only looking for % damage increases or your classes main stat), the mods on items have conditionals but you simply just don't use mods with conditionals that aren't up close to 100% of the time.
    * The horse is an absolute insult, it's barely faster than walking on foot even if if worked correctly and it does not most of the time on top of that your movement speed on the horse is dependent on your mouse distance from the center of the screen, what dev thought this was a good idea is beyond me, what actually happened is probably that someone ported this from their console implementation and thought it's good enough (it's really not).
    * The endgame basically doesn't exist. You farm the same Nightmare Dungeons and that's it, there are other activities but they're either much less fun or the game forces you into it, for example, you have to do Helltides so you get necessary materials for rerolling mods on items, if those weren't exclusive to Helltide events you just would not go there, on top of that the decision to make them timed makes it even worse, you can't even farm them whenever you want.
    * To add to the extremely bland and uninspired end game, everything is scaled, so you feel like you aren't really progressing towards anything, gameplay wise it really doesn't make a difference if you're farming Level 30 or Level 90 Nightmare dungeons, as soon as you can do higher tiers you just move up and all upgrades you made are relativized again making you feel like you constantly just spin in a circle, except the interface on the left now displays a higher Nightmare dungeon level.
    * The only thing you have to look forward to is Uber Lillith which, while it is a challenging fight it's mostly through throwing the same boring mechanic at you that just simply oneshot-kills you on contact.
    * The general balance is horrible, certain classes are leaps and bounds better than others, balance within classes is just as bad, not only is Sorcerer extremely bad in general, unless you play Ice Shards the already bad class becomes even worse.
    * To add insult to injury, Sorcerers also play extremely bad, you're expected to have a Spender skill which drains your mana and a generator skill which generates mana, eventually you're supposed to generate so much mana through gear and talents that you no longer require a generator skill, however, up until that point sorcerer is extremely painful since the generator skills are simply worthless and quite literally deal only around 5% the damage of your spender on top of not generating all that much mana so eventually you just come to the conclusion to just not use a generator since instead doing nothing and waiting for passive mana regeneration is more effective, which makes for insanely frustrating and straight up boring gameplay, on top of Sorcerers numbers in general being a joke compared to other classes.
    * While I've seen people praise the story I for the life of me cannot understand the general good sentiment, while the story itself isn't bad it's really nothing special, it contains a lot of sections that pretty much feel like filler which really isn't acceptable for the pricetag and the campaign being a main selling point, on top of that the villain often doesn't feel consistent and feels schizophrenic, however, not in a good, intended way, rather it feels like multiple writers were responsible for different sections of the game and said writers simply never communicated with each other.
    While the cinematics are really nice and well made, the story they depict is pretty nonsensical and requires some amount of suspension of disbelief, the ending itself had potential to be quite good but then turns out hilariously bad and is simply just an incredibly bad setup for the next DLC.

    All in all, the meme saying that caught on really is true and summarizes the entire game in just 5 characters; D4 Bad.

    Oh, the devs aren't done yet though. All issues mentioned above are from the launch state of the game. You'd think the first major patch of the game would alleviate at least some of the glaring issues people had with the game, instead, they managed to fix almost nothing and instead managed to simply make the game straight up worse, for example, cooldown reduction was blanket nerfed which means Sorcerers have even more time to think about why they're even playing this game in between waiting for their cooldowns and mana to come back.    … Expand

    Made the bad worst and the meh bad, total disconnection with the player base, and they said that they wore games themselves.
    Its just crazy to think that i pre-order this game to just play 50h and get bore and after a month the dev's just took the little fun that had left and piss on it.

    The campaign was really interesting and fun, got with it somewere lvl 40-50, but after that is just painful to play, loot are trash, extreme grinding for a "unique" item to make your build work, chests not rewarding just waste of time, classes not balanced and in the end they came with a massive nerf to all classes making them even weaker and harder to do any NM dungeons.     Devs made a good campaign to reel you in. You get hooked for awhile but then you start to realize you're doing the same thing over and over.

    Eventually you'll skip events, leave/sell countless worthless items, and die to something you either don't see/make a single mistake.

    Devs are purposely sabotaging their own game now, to get more customers later when they fix the game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's start from the beginning! This game had a massive hype, thanks to all the media push. Fine, but if Blizzard wanted to ride that hype and reach as many players as possible, wouldn't it be in their best interest to release a clean, smooth, and most importantly, finished game?

    But no! The game was released unfinished and poorly thought out. Just the fact that you get stuck on invisible corners with the horse is a complete no-go. And let's not forget the mere 4 stash tabs, while you have to farm endless rare items just to compare and try to make something better out of them. Gems are stored in the stash, too, which already lacks enough space. And don't get me started on the useless crafting system! All those crafting material you collect in the open world are basically worthless since you can't craft any rare items. To top it off, you end up with a ridiculous number of mods/stats on items that are totally unnecessary. Who needs resistances? They're utterly useless when you need damage stats like crit hit chance, crit hit dmg, vulnerable dmg, etc. The few defensive stats are %total armor and HP, etc.

    Sure, the campaign itself is fantastic, and the cinematics are absolutely breathtaking. But after that, the game is more or less over. The endgame goals are reaching level 100 and killing Uber Lilith, and that's it. Once you hit level 100, max out the glyphs, and have almost perfect stats on your gear, the game is done. There's no point in running Nightmare Dungeons since you can't improve anymore.

    Oh, and the Helltides! Until a recent update, they didn't even drop unique items. Players didn't even know about it! So, trying to farm for specific items was a lost cause.

    Now, let's talk about the audacity of asking for 70€ for a game and then throwing outrageously expensive skins into the shop, along with a battle pass. They should be offering way more for what they're charging. It's an absolute disgrace!

    As if that wasn't bad enough, the last patch was pure harassment. They increased teleport time from dungeons from 3 to 5 seconds. Why? What's the reasoning behind that? They can't even provide a proper explanation.

    And on top of that, they nerfed almost all stats for each class. Classic Blizzard behavior! If, for example, 2 stats aren't performing well, they drag down all the others to the level of the bad stats, instead of adjusting those 2. A perfect example is the nightmare dungeons, where the monster density was high, and people loved running them. But after the patch, instead of adjusting the other dungeons, they destroyed everything and reduced the fun for the community.

    I have no idea what Blizzard's goal is, but with this attitude, they won't retain any players. It's just infuriating!    … Expand

    This game only positive is you can pat the dog in town. I purchased a game that had 5 playable characters. Now 3 are playable and 2 are laughable. New patch has made me feel like I've bought a car with 3 wheels.    I admit I got, got.

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
