    All they do is slow the game expecting users to spend their life in this game. 99% major patch = how to make users suffer and spend time longer doing anything in this game. Waste of time playing. just go play POE or Last Epoch or Baldurs Gate 3. Blizzard is dead 10 years ago with the real Lich King.

    graphics and story are good but frankly speaking this game is clearly going nowhere as the devs have clearly demonstrated a mindset of "make the game as long and tedious as possible so players cannot accomplish anything and therefore will not quit"

    i've had the game for about 2 weeks the latest nerf ruined the game for me.
    blizzard staff is obviously stupid and failed to learn something square Enix learned in final fantasy 11
    you do not nerf the skills you bring other skills up. if things die too fast buff their def and hp its not hard nothing had to change, just make dungeons for max level that are made harder.

    They disrespect players time by arbitrarily nerfing xp gain and also nerfing power leveling methods. We just want to level up and have fun, not grind our life away trying to level up. They are compensating for lack of end game content by trying to make leveling take longer. This is truly disrespectful to our time as players. It was already bad enough grinding to level 100.     Blizzard is more interested in introducing changes that intentionally slow down game-play and reverse progression in order to artificially inflate game time - instead of introducing new content and challenges - in order to very transparently milk money from players.

    Instead of addressing class bugs like the minion necro and making it more playable, Blizzard seems to be more focused on turning the game into a grind-fest due to the live service model.

    It's a bit disappointing as players would prefer improvements in quality of life and bug fixes rather than increasing the grindiness of the game.

    Spent 300 hours getting to level 100 with Barbarian. Gearing him up to do nightmare dungeons and blizzard in there wisdom decided to nerf the crap out him 50% less damage and defences. What a total waste of my time and money. Stick your seasons up your arse blizzard.

The new patch made my build weaker and it wasn't even over powered although i followed a build from Moxsy. This is because I don't have God Like rolls which take for freaking ever to get anyhow.     This practice of coming up with a half developed game, selling it as a complete one and then paying Youtubers to market it aggressively to cheat the causal base who bought this out of past nostalgia needs to stop.

    I may be just an insignificant idiot who forked out $100 to buy your marketing and half developed game, (and spend 100-200 hours playing it in the hope that the end game gets better/your promises via community engagement sounds sincere and reasonable), but here is me leaving my honest review.

    For others who haven't bought the game, please don't. This is not a 'review bomb' as per what their marketing/PR team is selling, but it is a review of just an average joe who has stuck by the Blizzard name and loved the Starcraft, WOW and Diablo franchise, who heard good things about the new addition to the Diablo franchise and decided to 'vote with his wallet' to support the devs. Instead, I wasted money and time, and whatever ounce of goodwill/nostalgia I have with the Blizzard brand name.    … Expand

There are plenty of ways you can defend this game, but the negatives far out weigh the positives. Constant added time sinks so they can bolster play time hours just to pad their own pockets. The gaming community will continue to be taken advantage of at this rate.

    I have logged more than 439.85 hours in my account which is around 18days+ since Early access. This game is most likely dead already because of the recent Patch. They reduced the total defense of all classes and damage. All the days farming specific roll for your items to clear out high tier nightmare dungeons become useless. In order for you to adjust to the current change, you will need to grind again lower tier dungeons to farm golds to respec your paragon board and also haunt items again with other aspects, game is dead. Dont buy this game. Devs didnt give a damn about the player base and they will tell you that they are being review bomb by trolls in this site. LOL pathetic… Expand

    The Season 1 patch makes leveling up, and finding loot, 2 to 3 times more difficult. I'm not sure why this was done, if it's to draw out the amount of time people spend in the game, I feel like it will backfire and more players will get fed up with the tedium and quit instead. Personally, I'll try this game again in a year or so to see if the devs have fixed it.

    This game is less about blowing up monsters, collecting crazy loot, and trying new builds, and more about collecting some bloodstone you didn't see halfway back in the dungeon and playing inventory manager for two hours.

    For the ARPG fanatics, you will spend hours picking up and selling items looking for upgrades to find next to nothing. If you get bored and try to play a new build,    This game is less about blowing up monsters, collecting crazy loot, and trying new builds, and more about collecting some bloodstone you didn't see halfway back in the dungeon and playing inventory manager for two hours.

    For the ARPG fanatics, you will spend hours picking up and selling items looking for upgrades to find next to nothing. If you get bored and try to play a new build, well that's too bad because it's going to cost you two hours of your time spent playing Inventory Manager 4. If you want to reroll your gear, well that's too bad because it's going to cost you fifteen minutes if you're lucky, upwards of DAYS if you're unlucky.

    ARPG players are always going to try to find the most efficient build, the hardest hitting build, the speedfarm build. Yet if you land in the crosshairs of Blizzard nerf hammer and wish to respec, well you're just going to be out 2 hours of YOUR time. Blizzard loves to publish how many hours people are spending on Diablo 4 but really from what I see in the gameplay mechanics, Blizzard is intentionally slowing players down in the game to farm those hours out of us.

    This game as it is right now is a tedious, annoying chore. I encourage you to skip out and check back in a year or so if Diablo is still alive. There are many other games worth playing where the development teams behind the game don't hinder your progress with annoying mechanics and nerfs and instead actually challenge you in interesting ways.    … Expand

Even if Blizzard were to revert these changes in the future, the damage has already been done, revealing their indifference towards players' feedback.     - no build diversity at all, boring builder/spender system
    - no endgame at all
    - poor itemization, for a game that's all about magic finding, there's nothing to chase, there's no carrot

    As a solo, 1-2 hours a day player, I had one char lvl 82 before season 1 started. Transitioning from WT1 to WT3 was tedious in terms of XP granted when in WT3. Transitioning from WT3 to WT4 felt similarly unrewarding and super slow to catch up on the lvl requirements. With the new patch and the stealth nerfs (lvl req on capstone), I do not know why spending dozens of hours more to get the same stuff as before is fine.    … Expand

    Story starts off great, but quickly turns into a forgettable, unfulfilling snoozer that goes right into setup for what I assume to be another paid expansion. Unfortunately, really the only unique bosses that you come across are found in the campaign, and you may not re-do these bosses unless you re-progress through the campaign on another character. Pretty disappointing considering there are actually only a few variants for "boss," monsters across every single dungeon and many of these are just upgraded "elite," variants of already existing mobs. Couple this with the fact that the lauded 100+ dungeons, or whatever the BS number, are all the same few tilesets with the entrance position moved, and you have some *exhilarating* uninspired gameplay.

    Build variety was already awful, but if you weren't already bored of builder/spender skills, the trajectory of updates ensures that most of the community will be pigeonholed into the same builds for at least a few months. If that wasn't bad enough, as you level up re-speccing gets exponentially more expensive, and extraordinarily tedious, since you have to individually refund each paragon node or skill point.

    Forced online environment with the worst social environment I may have ever seen in a game. Be prepared for rubber banding between every zone. The frequent + abrupt disconnects plaguing the game since launch have hardly improved, and continually cause players to walk away from the game, especially people that enjoy HC modes and lose characters out of their control. Trading has near zero value in this iteration of Diablo, thanks to the awful itemization system that locks item drops to your character level. Makes gearing alts, or playing/trading with friends unnecessarily tedious.

    Awful, unbalanced PvP, with no intent of balance, yet you are forced into these zones for collectables to finish up your characters stats, and paragon nodes/skill points.

    Core features(resistances,) have been broken since launch causing some classes to notably struggle and ensuring even less diversity in builds until AT LEAST season two,(notably, ~6months after release to fix a core/game-breaking feature.) Not only that, but the first seasonal update and they are adding resistances to the loot tables for items that previously had none, as well as new, dead, seasonal content that play around resistances. They are just out of touch, and careless.

    With all of that, Blizzard has shown with the launch and first few updates that they do not respect players/consumers time. The intention is to slow players down, string them through seasons and pump the MTX shop. My fault for purchasing another Blizzard game... especially one that is another unfortunate entry into the graveyard of games as a service.    … Expand

    The game itself is not bad, but a big part that keeps you playing is the loot and improving your character. Getting stronger. If you value your hard worked stuff and would not like your optimized gear to be completely worthless after a patch look for another game.

    should be an 8 out of 10 but this most recent patch just goes to show the predatory nature of Blizzard, intentionally nerfing the crap out of the game and slowing down leveling so that people will give up on their eternal characters for the new season. Correct this horrible patch and I'll correct my review.

    Sadly, it was fun, I had fun as many other people, but at this point they destroyed the game so bad, ain't worth doing anything anymore. For me this game is deleted, RIP 100$, but i might come and check things up from a S4 or so, but for a casual player that wont hit 100, wont go for endgame, and will stop after reaching lv 70, sure, go with this crap.

This game is not so much about picking up good loot. It's more about crafting your own loot. This takes away the excitement of picking up a good item. And comparing items takes forever, due to the weird affixes and the amount of rare items that drop. It should drop few with higher quality.

    Difficulty scales with level and you will not feel like you are getting stronger until you find better loot. If you are unlucky the game will get harder rather than easier.    … Expand

    The Sorceress class was one of the weakest classes with one viable build and not much build customization outside that one viable build.

    Turning a casual game into a difficult boring repetitive grind fest. Now I have no issues with grinding as long as it's fun which currently is not the case. I don't know who the developers want to appeal to but it's not the casual player base and there are tons of players who are unhappy with the current state of the game. I mentioned that the Sorceress was the weakest class at launch and like many other classes it's even worse after the nerfs. I don't know what I was expecting from Blizzard after Diablo Immortal people had hope for D4 and somehow they managed to screw it up. Hopefully they wise up and revert the nerfs buff the classes and make the game fun to play before it's too late and they lose all of the player base.    … Expand

    Diablo 4's latest patch has everything to do with destroying the Eternal Realm. Yes, the Eternal Realm may seem "less important" because it won't feature these cool seasonal mechanics that we're supposed to enjoy, but, you can't access, you guessed it: The Battle Pass, in the Eternal Realm.

    Big shocker right?

    When you start to think logically that all of these "game designs and mechanics" were built around a corporate "for profit" scheme, you will understand that the Blizzard that used to exist, is simply a corpse that has been exploded by the greedy Millionaire/Billionaire Necromancer's, that prop up this corpse of a company.

    They sucked the soul out of this game, which actually had a solid foundation, and only needed a few solid tweaks to really solidify it's future, however, these corporate idiots cannot comprehend that empathizing and understand your player base over making disgusting greedy decisions isn't possible.

    Why else would they reduce cooldown reduction by 30%? It's arguably the most important nerf in this new patch. If you can't reset your cooldowns fast enough, you can't use your skills faster, ultimately, slowing down the game and progress you would've made in the game.

    Why else would they reduce damage reduction by 25%, and completely gut the Aspect of Disobedience, the best defensive aspect in the game? It's the exact same concept, you die more, so it ultimately takes LONGER to get best in slot gear, and reach late endgame content.

    Speaking of endgame content, there is none. This is why they are making these changes. It's why they tried to sneak in capstone dungeon level caps of 40 and 60 without telling us.

    It's why they ultimately giga nerfed power leveling, boosting, and group leveling as a whole. Honestly, they just nerfed leveling and XP in general, because they understand that there's not enough content at the end of the game for you to enjoy.

    They want to keep you in the game as long as possible, so you have the most amount of expose to the battle pass, and the more time you're in the game, the more time you will be exposed to the battle pass, and more likely to spend money on cool look cosmetics for weapons, armor or your horse.

However the game itself is very unsatisfying. This game post no challenge before level 50. Player is actually the GOD during this time and trashing anything blocking your way. Truth be told, I don't even have much of a problem with non-P2W microtransactions, because I have to accept reality that AAA online PvP multiplayer on Playstation will basically only happen if MTX is included. You can thank greedy and lazy "story-driven" developers like Sony Santa Monica for that, because they save so much money by giving us half of the game at full price, and still make bank. So of course, developers that give us the full game are going to monetize the online portion for that extra work. My problem is that I already spent $70 on this mobile game that isn't even close to a true AAA experience, and the greedy developers still have the audacity to add MTX. Seeing how this is an online only mobile game with MTX, it should've been free-to-play. This outrageous greed makes EA and Take-Two look like saints in comparison. At least they have full priced games with actual AAA quality. Battlefront 2 or GTA V alone has better quality than the entire Blizzard catalogue combined. That's embarrassing.… Expand

    Okay, I thought that patch 1.1a was f**ked up badly but two days after this brilliant update they launched Season 1 and game stopped working at all - dungeons are not working, storyline is not working, game is frequently disconnecting.
    It's complete and total disaster.

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
