It's a pretty fun casual game.
    Pretty graphics and great sound.
The classes are fun to play.
    The UI sucks, unfortunately.
Overall, a good time over some beers with the guys.

I recently had the opportunity to play Diablo 4, and overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The game boasts some impressive features that truly make it stand out in the ARPG genre. While it does have a few shortcomings, it remains a captivating and entertaining title worthy of praise.

One of the highlights of Diablo 4 is its meticulously designed scenarios throughout the map. The world feels alive and immersive, with stunning visuals that add to the overall atmosphere. Exploring each location felt like an adventure in itself, as I uncovered hidden secrets and encountered challenging enemies.

The gameplay mechanics in Diablo 4 are top-notch. The combat is fluid and satisfying, offering a wide variety of skills and abilities to unleash upon hordes of demons. The endgame content provides a substantial amount of replayability, with various activities and challenges that kept me engaged long after completing the main campaign.

Speaking of the story, Diablo 4 delivers an engaging narrative that delves deep into the lore of the Diablo universe. The intricate plot twists and character development kept me invested in the overarching storyline, constantly craving to uncover more about the world and its inhabitants.

Lastly, while Diablo 4 offers a satisfying challenge, I couldn't help but feel that the game could have been more difficult, especially for seasoned players seeking a greater test of their skills. Implementing higher difficulty options or incorporating more challenging encounters would have added an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay.

The game have a few bug, server disconnections all the time.

This new trend of review bombing a game because you're pissed about something is just dumb. I'm not going to lie, this last patch 1.1 for season one sucks and have angered most of us. I still enjoy playing the game. Is it perfect? No, but it's pretty damn good.

I think the 4.9 (at the time of typing this) user score is too low. There are legit grievances, but the game is still being balanced, FFS. We're all beta testers...The people like myself who were dumb enough to drop $70 (or more) this early.

    Pros:
    - The location design, sound design, graphics, and overall setting are absolutely stunning. It's a refreshing departure from Diablo 3, with a much darker and bloodier atmosphere that I really appreciate.
    - The endgame open-world activities provide a decent amount of engagement.
    - I was particularly impressed with the visual design of the dungeons.
    - Surprisingly, the game offers a decent storyline. I wasn't expecting anything remarkable in terms of plot, but the in-game cutscenes are also well done.
    - The skill and paragon systems are quite straightforward and easy to grasp.
    - I thoroughly enjoyed playing as the rogue and the sorcerer, leveling them up to 50 and 80, respectively. The class system as a whole is well-designed. However, I haven't had the chance to try out other classes yet.

    Cons:
    - While the game incorporates MMO elements, they aren't executed well. There's no general chat or regional chat, making it difficult to find groups for activities like invasions.
    - The clan system is disappointing. When attempting to join a clan, you'll often encounter an error message stating "too many requests." Furthermore, you're not able to adequately describe yourself or your intentions in just a few words. As a result, clan leaders often create Discord servers and request that players join there, which becomes problematic if you simply want in-game communication without additional hassle. It's quite frustrating.
    - The map isn't shared across characters, so you have to rediscover it with each new character you create.
    - The transportation system actually complicates movement rather than simplifying it. It's reminiscent of the Crusader's mount from Diablo 3 and, overall, the horse feels lackluster.
    - Switching between locations sometimes causes the game to freeze for brief moments.

It's a newbie friendly game with no fear in expressing all kinds of gore and violence. The immersion is unmatched with the sounds, graphics and overall style combining into a very immersive experience, something that is difficult to do in a top-down game.

The difficulty scaling is rather aggressive, meaning you never really feel the impact of your levels and new weapons in the usual sense of just wiping out enemies that were tough before, but it's also not a game breaker, because it makes sure there is a consistent challenge throughout the experience. The storyline is excellent for a game of this type, with plenty of budget spent on the animated cutscenes and voice acting. It's unfortunate that it was chosen to limit access to mounts until act 3 is over, it does make some rather tedious gameplay of walking across the map being chased by hordes of enemies while trying desperately to navigate to the next mission. I feel like a mount being given at the end of Act 2 would be a better choice.

Overall, it's an expensive but rewarding and fulfilling gaming experience and a very refreshing reminder of what triple-A games should look like on release.

We are getting smoother and smoother overall systems and general mechanics. It's true some individual elements and details still need a tweak or a couple of tweaks. But with. the high speed they are. delivering fixes and new content it will be a solid game in 2-3 months.
At the moment its 80% there, unbiased, the game is actually fun and engaging now. So whoever is wondering should they get it. Well in this state mostly Yes. By the time you learn the mechanics and level up a couple of characters, and enjoy the high tier content which again is 80% fine at the moment, in 2-3 months it will be well polished and great. From there until the end of the year it will only grow from great. It's going to be awesome from the looks of the quick and regular updates. So it don't hurt you if you already have a few max level characters ready by that time. It will only allow you to jump in the. newest challenges, instantly. Is it OK to be released unfinished like a late beta? Well probably not, I know this made a lot of people angry.
At the same time this is one of the best ways to customize the systems along with the little details they way the players want it. So we not only got a game here, we got a game that is being changed every week, for us. If you don't want to get what you want, we'll then don't get it.

From me a big thanks to Blizzard, they exceeded my expectations.

    - Implement gem only bag
    - Builds feel to "pre built" little room for creativity
    - World bosses could be more challenging

70$ game, if you value your time at 1$ per hour, you get your money's worth and even more.

As a longtime fan of the series, I was eagerly awaiting this installment, and I can confidently say that it delivers an outstanding experience that will captivate both new and veteran players alike.

One of the first things that struck me about Diablo 4 is its stunning visual design. The game boasts incredibly detailed environments, from eerie, Gothic dungeons to sprawling outdoor landscapes teeming with danger. The attention to detail is simply awe-inspiring, and it truly feels like you're stepping into a world where evil lurks around every corner.

The gameplay mechanics have also received a significant upgrade, making combat feel more fluid and satisfying than ever before. The variety of character classes and their unique abilities offer a plethora of playstyles, allowing players to tailor their experience to suit their preferences. Whether you prefer to unleash devastating spells as a powerful sorcerer or engage in up-close and personal combat as a hulking barbarian, Diablo 4 has you covered.

One aspect that sets Diablo 4 apart from its predecessors is its emphasis on a darker, more mature narrative. The game delves deep into the lore of the Diablo universe, introducing compelling characters and exploring intricate storylines. The writing is superb, keeping me engaged and invested in the fate of the world throughout my journey. The narrative is complemented by top-notch voice acting, which brings the characters to life in a way that further immerses you in the game's rich and haunting atmosphere.

Furthermore, the multiplayer experience in Diablo 4 is exceptional. Whether teaming up with friends to conquer formidable bosses or engaging in intense player-versus-player combat, the online connectivity seamlessly integrates into the game, adding an extra layer of excitement and camaraderie.

It's worth noting that the developers have also demonstrated a commitment to post-launch support and continuous improvement. With regular updates, new content, and community engagement, Diablo 4 is set to remain a thriving and evolving experience for years to come.

In conclusion, Diablo 4 is a triumph in every sense. With its breathtaking visuals, refined gameplay, engrossing narrative, and robust multiplayer features, it sets a new benchmark for the action RPG genre. Whether you're a die-hard Diablo fan or a newcomer to the series, this game is an absolute must-play. The main story grows and gets better as it goes, I will say it is a bit simplistic and formulaic but enjoyable. I enjoy the darker tone in the game and the landscapes. The mob diversity is a bit light but when I'm blowing them up en mass I don't care as much. Overall it's been a thoroughly enjoyable game. At 60 hours played so far I still find myself craving the experience when I'm away from the game. My biggest complaint is that the power scaling at low levels feels too horizontal and your character can feel ineffective. But as you get into the higher levels and start getting aspects and tweaking your build it is much more rewarding. I don't understand the microtransaction complaints. There is nothing necessary in the shop and the gear, trophies, and horse armor that drop in the game have some interesting variances that really allow you to customize your character as you go. While it may not be without its flaws, the game manages to capture the essence of the Diablo universe and offers a satisfying journey for both new and returning players. Here's why Diablo 4 deserves recognition for its notable improvements and potential to evolve.

One of the standout aspects of Diablo 4 is its dark and atmospheric world. The game's visuals are impressive, featuring detailed environments that effectively convey the foreboding nature of Sanctuary. From eerie forests to desolate wastelands, each location feels distinct and adds depth to the overall experience. The attention to detail in the art design and atmospheric effects creates a moody ambiance that immerses players in the grim and treacherous world.

Combat in Diablo 4 is engaging and enjoyable, particularly for those who revel in hack-and-slash gameplay. The fluid animations and impactful abilities make every encounter thrilling, as you unleash devastating attacks against hordes of demons. The variety of character classes provides different playstyles to suit individual preferences, offering options for both close-quarters combat and long-range spellcasting. Although combat mechanics may not introduce groundbreaking innovations, they do stay true to the satisfying and addictive core gameplay that fans have come to expect.

Diablo 4 features an open-world design that encourages exploration and discovery. The vast landscapes are filled with dungeons, side quests, and hidden treasures, making each journey off the beaten path feel rewarding. While the open-world aspect is a departure from the linear structure of previous Diablo games, it offers a sense of freedom and adventure that breathes new life into the series. The day-night cycle and dynamic weather system add further immersion, creating a living world that evolves as you progress.

The narrative in Diablo 4 aims to delve deeper into the lore of the franchise, and while it may not be groundbreaking, it does provide an intriguing backdrop for your adventures. The storytelling is serviceable, with memorable characters and cinematic cutscenes that drive the plot forward. However, the pacing occasionally feels uneven, and the narrative fails to reach the same heights as some of its predecessors. Nonetheless, the story provides a solid foundation that sets the stage for potential expansions and future content.

While Diablo 4 has its share of strengths, it's important to acknowledge that the game is still a work in progress. Some areas, such as itemization, endgame content, inventory management and UI customization could benefit from further refinement and expansion. Additionally, occasional technical issues and balance concerns may arise, impacting the overall experience. However, Blizzard's commitment to ongoing updates and improvements gives hope for the game's future.

In summary, Diablo 4 may not be a flawless, but it presents a solid foundation upon which the franchise can build. With its captivating world, satisfying combat, open-world exploration, and multiplayer focus, the game offers an enjoyable experience that holds promise for the Diablo series. As updates and expansions continue to shape the game, Diablo 4 has the potential to grow into an exceptional addition to the franchise.

The leveling seems very long although this might be by design, I am however not used to it being like this. The items in the inventory look a bit underwhelming. The UI in general is a bit minimal for my taste. After all is said and done I would recommend this experience. Expand

The games design, while needing a few minutes for adjusting settings, is pleasing. The audio is fantastic, and the visual are exactly what you'd expect from a diablo game, gory, yet well designed.
Functionally, the game feels like the perfect middle ground between diablo 2' extensive skill trees, and the simplified skill trees from diablo 3. The allowance of being able to choose what skills you want from different tiers, not being locked to 1 of each style was refreshing. The combat because of this, can feel very rewarding.
In honesty, it does have its issues, low level enemies feel fairly copy and paste. They do becomes more varied at higher levels, but i do wish they had more. That being said, its an arpg, thats par for course.
I do agree the choice to strictly be only live service, was a poor one. I also understand the reasons for them doing so, and as long as they put time and money into the servers the game could be amazing. The current issue with the online services is that they haven't been tested with this many players, and it cant handle it currently. Its been a week of actual release and of course we are seeing issues as with all online games immediately after release. In the past week they have already released fixes for a swathe of these issues. If they keep this up, i wont be surprised.
Considering the issues with hacking and cheating Diablo 3 was plagued with, i can respect the online only gameplay. I will admit that its hopeful that they'll be able to control that, but i believe it should be less rampant.
Already, they have made changes to classes, the day 1 nerf to barb and druid, and the buff to necro, gives me hope that they'll actively maintain the gameplay. Personally, i think they need to rebalance quite a few options as it feels as if certain abilities are just unplayable in their current condition. Some skills are just the clear choice, especially in a game like this, where Aesthetic doesn't clear dungeons.
Im not a fan of the story, for the most part. its not bad, its just not what i expected, nor agreed with. I think the story needed more time to be flushed out. I felt disconnected from my protagonist in large areas of the story. Thats not to say, that the story didnt have its good parts, nor its fantastic parts. It has been rare for me in the recent years to not regret the purchase of a game. I feel confident that this was a good purchase. Also, The shop is completely ignorable. It is not mandatory, If they force the shop i will have an issue. I spent my money, i will not be bullied into spending more.

Popping on here to make a review even though I usually don't because I feel like the people coming on here and leaving 0-level reviews are being wild. I thought about giving it a 10 to balance out the zeroes (I've seen multiple saying things like "I actually think it's a 5/10 but I'm giving a 0 to balance the higher reviews), but we don't need more of that nonsense, so I'm giving it what IPopping on here to make a review even though I usually don't because I feel like the people coming on here and leaving 0-level reviews are being wild. It has flaws - I agree that the power scaling feels weird, not a fan. If we've got a level 60 person and a level 20 person in a party, the level 20 person should be struggling more than the level 60. But it's not really a dealbreaker for me because I just focus on myself and keep on enjoying the fight. I think the store is stupid, but I just stick to the cosmetics that you can find in the game and ignore the store altogether. I agree with everyone saying that there should be an offline option to increase accessibility and for people that don't like strangers passing through their game, but I've been enjoying the online open world format, especially since all the dungeons/storyline boss fights are just with you and your party.

Having played all of the Diablo games extensively, I've been excited for this game for years, keeping up on the all the news, etc., and I think it delivered. It's also been great crossing over to play with my console gamer friends for the first time. For the flaws it has (like issues with barb and necro skills, the setup of the helltides), the developers have been paying attention to feedback and have been really good about responding openly about the improvements they will be making based on that feedback. It's clear that they want us to enjoy the game long-term.

As for how the game is right now: I think it has a compelling storyline, beautiful graphics, and I'm really enjoying the open world. I like the shift in the skills setup, and the mounts make it easy to explore every corner - I'm a playing that likes to get all the achievements, so I've been using the mounts constantly to make sure I caught everything. I've been playing a ton since it's been out, and I'm positive I'll be playing it for years. I'm definitely a long-term player, so that's probably why I'm not quite as mad about the price tag as some people that just want to binge it and then move on to the next game. I'm having a great time, and I've got about 10-15 people I've been playing with (a mix of Diablo veterans and first-time players) who are really happy with it as well.

Great game overall, may be a bit boring at the start if you select weak build. Game feels like a breath of fresh air amid the stagnation in the ARPG segment of games.
As a PoE player, who never played Diablo, I can recommend to try play Diablo 4. Endgame is good, builds are interesting to play. Optimization is on good level.

Hello, I am an avid ARPG enjoyer.
I write this review for two audiences, casual and "competitive".

    Casual --
Let's start with casual, this will be easier :)

Note that these are subject to preference, as the game is on the darker side.
    General categories for casual players:
    Storytelling - 9/10
    Visuals and Audio - 7/10
    Combat - 8/10
    Pacing - 8/10
    ------------------------------------
    Overall - 8/10

    Good job Blizzard!

    Competitive --
Now if the above review was not informative enough for you, then you might be in the more competitive category. I'll be frank, I've reached level 100 on hardcore mode, and I've spent many hours theory crafting builds, figuring out power scaling, and farming for gear. So let's get to it.

    Storytelling - 9/10
My review for storytelling remains the same. This is a darker game, so others might not enjoy the storytelling aspects that Diablo 4 presents, but at the same time... If you're playing a game titled "Diablo" then you should probably expect to see darker themes.

    Audio - 8/10
    Good stuff.

    Visuals - 7/10
This is where things become tricky. I come many different games, and I've seen a lot of visuals. There's something unique and satisfying that strong visuals (not flashbangs) and audio can bring to the player. The best example I can use is in Lost Ark, when your character uses an "ultimate" ability - it feels like an ultimate ability both from the sound cue's and the visual effects. Diablo 4 seems to shy away from this, but it's not entirely a bad thing. It's just Diablo 4's aesthetic.

    Combat - 7/10 (combined from Mobbing/Boss fighting)
For ease of review, we can break the combat down into two styles that are applicable to the ARPG genre. Mobbing and Boss fighting.

    - Mobbing 9/10
This is what Diablo does best. The builds you make tend to have speed as their middle name. The faster you go, the more items that drop, the more exp you earn, the more materials you farm, the higher you push your character. With so much RNG inherent to the genre, it's critical that you're farming efficiently - again, Diablo does this quite well.

    - Boss fighting. 5/10
We have a problem here. I will preface this by saying that there are unique "bosses" within the game that have mechanics for a player to learn and adapt to. However, this goes away very quickly when the boss dies in less than 10 seconds flat. There's no real sense of "Boss fighting" in this game, as bosses are basically just another elite pack with more health, or just a means to finish your dungeon.

The way that Diablo 4 is currently made to be played with it's skill usage, does not lend itself well to boss fighting in contrast to other games like Lost Ark's endgame boss fights (or even PoE bosses). There's a certain level of thematic presence that Diablo 4 boss fights are missing, and although I'm not an expert in game design - I can at least tell when a game is lacking.

    Pacing - 7/10
The pacing in this game is able to appeal to both the casual and more competitive player base alike. The game features a level scaling, which matches mobs to your level accordingly. Leveling initially feels comfortable and at ease, while leveling towards the end feels very slow, which is not a bad thing per say.

While some people enjoy chasing the higher level number, the game is much better enjoyed chasing "content" instead of "levels". As you're doing content suitable for you, the levels will come naturally, however there are some nuances to the pacing and scaling in this game that can make it feel bad at times. (Such as unlocking the next world tier when you're 7 levels down, but all of the enemies are now 10 levels higher than you.)

    Itemization - 7/10
The is a subject to great contention. ARPG's always tend to have a random aspect to their loot, and farming for the perfect item for your build can feel either tiring or rewarding, depending on multiple factors.

The tier levels of items for Diablo 4 was implemented quite well once you're more familiar with the system. However the systems used are incredibly and needlessly convoluted. I enjoy complex systems, but I mostly enjoy complex systems when information is in abundance.
For example, you are unable to see the potential roll values for an item affix at the enchanter, why hide this information? Hiding this type of information only makes the game more complex and frustrating for a casual player, which appears to be your main audience, as competitive players will seek this information out on their own.
For the average player, it will be difficult to determine if this next piece of gear is an upgrade for your character, or salvaged resources. Side content - The side content in the game is very good, but I will only ever do this content once or just not play anymore. Overall - 8/10

It's not a perfect game, but I enjoy it.
    Pros:
    - Story/Acting
    - Classes and skills
    - Control and gameplay
    - Dark world and atmosphere
    - Difficulty on higher levels
    - World activities

    Cons
    - Music is not catchy
    - Itemisation (98% of items are unusable for your build)

    Mixed:
    - Some features are still missing, such as convenient loadout switching.

    Diablo 4 Overview

Simply put Diablo 4 is an enjoyable experience for both casual and (some) harder core players looking to have a bit of fun in an ARPG. This review is centered more on the casual side of this but I'll make a note for players who want to GRIND this game out.

    Story
    ---------‐----------
If you are a Diablo fan and love this game series' lore you will absolutely love this game's story. If you are new on the other hand I will say you may be a bit confused but there is something here for you to enjoy if you have someone explain things to you.
I'll say this it's good really good but it's depending on the lore of the series if you don't want to look into that lore you won't enjoy the story as much.

    Gamplay
    ---------‐----------
This is the act of playing the game and working with it's systems. The loop here is challenging but very VERY REWARDING and extremely FUN. It's tough but you can power through it!

The classes are all satisfying and fun too!

Playing the Barbarian you get a satisfying WACK to your attacks that you feel rewarded for!

Playing the Necro you watch as enemies that have been debuffed lose their skin and fall to pieces when you kill them!

As Sorcerer you watch as enemies may freeze and shatter or burn to death!

These are just examples but they have a great loop here and that makes the game worth the asking price!

    PvP
    ---------‐----------

PvP deserves a spot here its an optional experience and is an extraction based "gamemode".......it's better than every other Diablo (Not a big win)......but is unfortunately incapable of being balanced (Daze is stupid in PvP). Players will run from you when extracting which makes you feel like you've wasted your time going after them when they extract and it still let's them extract no blocking the extract. The level differences here are around 10 levels. Levels will win fights by default. Honestly would recommend not playing this as Blizzard said they would NEVER balance it.

    Hardcore
    ---------‐----------

As for hardcore players......this is where the game loses some points class trees are small and provide a decent variety of builds (More than most ARPGs!) but all of your power will come from 50+ and the paragon board which is fun but......can kill the experience when all you're doing is grinding levels. The grind is there if you want it but gear feels sorta rewarding......a unique is always an interesting grab but the scaling takes away from the power progression quite a bit in trade for playing online which imo isn't worth it with the minor changes made for online play.

Play if you want but don't expect POE levels of things to do that may turn you on or off for the game.

    Things to Note
    ---------‐----------

Shop isn't pay to win and the battle pass is not going to be pay to win. Shop is expensive and is not okay price wise. This takes a point off the game as this game is already $70! If prices were normal I wouldn't take a point off.

Game is Open World now which is a great change!

Mounts are to be noted here as the open world is great BUT there are barriers EVERYWHERE which makes traveling unfun in some cases (Sounds like a small gripe but I wouldn't note it if it wasn't worth noting.)

    Summary
    ---------‐----------
This game is a solid 8/10 with minor issues.
Game is a GREAT casual experience as for hardcore there are a few dependencies for entry as endgame is not shallow persay but is definitely a turn off for POE style players. Play it for the story stay for the gameplay!

p.s. as a very old diablo 1-2 player, I got a lot of fun and still really really like this game, if you are diablo fun you will get a lot of fun and you will spent a lot of hours in this game, but ofc I wish Dev's will add more complexity to the craft system and itemization.

Meanwhile I will put 8 points because I really believe that they add more and more in features in future patches and seasons, if not I will change it from 8 to 5.

by features I hope it will be:

    2. More complex endgame crafting, because at the end the whole idea of this game its all around items.
    3. Maybe some unique league events like in PoE.

There is one recent review that is so completely off base, that said there is no Global chat, when upon logging in and pressing "Enter" to open chat, you are in Global. Hitting the "Tab" key will even let you cycle through the different channels of chat as well. It's sad that reviews, such as this one, weigh on the overall score of the game. It also basically de-legitimizes the credibility of reviewers like this person.

First off, there is zooming in and out of your character, so the reviewer that said there is none is false and disinformation. I cannot believe that some people actually found that useful when the Demo/Beta was playable for everyone to see that you can zoom in and out of your character at any time. I'd ignore with full prejudice any reviews saying you cannot zoom in or out of your character.

Second, there is also trading of items, but it is limited to "rares" or gold items and lower. You cannot trade Legendary or Ancestral gear, or whatever higher tier gear that comes into the game. The reviews that said you cannot trade gear -at all- is factually wrong. Further, the reviews saying you cannot trade Legendary or higher quality gear are conveniently leaving out is that you can easily upgrade your rare or yellow gear to Legendary gear using Aspects that you can rip off other Legendary items, and apply it to your tradeable rare gear, and get a legendary catered to your character's build. At this point, I'd ignore the reviews saying you cannot trade any gear in Diablo 4.

There are some negative reviews I do agree with, but I would -not- put this game below an 8/10 at worst. For what we got with this game, and a major upgrade to graphics, animation, story, voice acting, SFX, VFX, vs Diablo 3, I think this game is astonishing. I liked Diablo 1, 2, 3 as a whole, skipped Diablo Immortal because that game was an absolutely horrible reskin of Crusaders of Light, a Chinese ARPG, and just one of the worst games Blizzard ever produced/re-skinned. I think Blizzard does a better job making games from the ground up. But I digress.

In terms of my review, I do not like the micro-stats like "Damage Reduction Up Close", "Damage Reduction from Distant", "Damage Up close", "Damage to Distant", etc. I can see where Blizzard was going with this setup, with fine tuning your character to exactly your playstyle is. But I think splitting Damage Reduction/Producing to "up close" and "distant" enemies was a bit much. I agree that this could have been better thought out, or, just leave the damage reduction as one stat: Damage Reduction. The same goes for Damage to Enemies up close or distant: Increased Damage/Attack Power would have sufficed here. I docked one point here in my review.

Second, there are dungeons where the flow of progress feels great and fun! But there are a lot of dungeons, especially towards the later end game, where I find myself doing a bit too much back tracking and is not fun or exciting. I know there is backtracking in ARPGs and it is basically a staple for ARPGs and even RPGs, but this was a bit much towards the later parts of Diablo IV. I remember the Blizzard Dev video showed some updates they did about Dungeon flow, and I think they did a phenomenal job with changing the flow of the dungeons, but with over 120 dungeons, they missed a bunch. I would dock half a point here, because I can count maybe 20 dungeons that need this update added for better flow of the dungeons.

The side quests, along with the main quests in Diablo IV were very fun and enjoyable. Some of the side quests were quite annoying, especially if you like doing side quests like I do, where if you don't have your mount yet, you're going to be rolling your eyes at the back and forth you have to do. If I played this game efficiently and stuck to the MSQ (Main Story Quest), then did the side quests after I get my mount (which comes at the end of Act III), it would not have been so bad. I docked half a point here, since some of the side quests were enjoyable and the voice acting was well done. A story within a story. You do not see that quality in many games these days, or even in the past.

I cannot dock a point off of the price of the game because again, you had the choice of paying $70 for the regular release of the game, or pay close to $100 for the early access. The game would be no different from early access or full access. The season pass bump, again, it's up to you. The reviews saying this is pay to win is laughable at best. The game is VERY far from Pay to Win like Diablo Immortal was, or a lot of Korean/Chinese MMOs are. Ignore those reviewers without examples.

D4 has improved upon its predecessor in literally every way and it truly seems like they met their goals of bringing a darker feel like d1/d2, better combat like d3, and a better progression system like d2.

The World: I cannot get over how much better the world feels then any other diablo game. It feels like we are running around an mmo, the verticality that was introduced and all the work you can tell went into every area.. I wonder how much time they spent building it, because it's great.

The Story / Theme: Easily the best story out of the entire diablo franchise(I have PTSD after d3). So many moments i thought 'oh no, they are doing to kill x person off in a dumb way'. It.. never happened. I was surprised, laughed and had my jaw open at some points at well. It was good.

The Gameplay: Combat feels good as it has since d3. Not really much to say here, feels like an improved version of d3s combat.

The Progression / Itemization: They seem to have hit a sweet spot in progression / itemization. Between your skill tree, paragon boards, gems, item upgrades, affix rerolls and legendary power management. Out the gate has much more depth and control then any of the previous games without being too complex.

Verdict: Diablo 4 really has taken the best parts of the previous games and improved upon each of them, some areas have advanced more then others but each has been improved upon. Creating an experience that will serve as a great foundation for them to build upon for years to come. Pair that with their large investment in the franchise working on two seasons and two expansions at any given moment it's looking like diablo 4 will be one of the great ARPGs of our time if the dev team continues to hit their after launch goals with the same quality and passion they did making the base game.

I have to say Diablo 4 is what Diablo 3 should have been. This feels like a proper sequel to Diablo 2. The mechanics are nice everything looks great. The gameplay is so much fun. World events and Helltide are alot of fun. This game is just fun. Being able to mesh classic classes with a new ways to play.

For context, I've been playing a Barb solo, and a Sorcerer in a group - both on world tier 2.

The story, cutscenes and overall world building are incredible; I usually rush through games to get to the endgame but this time round I've been genuinely interested in what's going on and taking my time to click all the extra dialogue options and explore the map. I've found that I can get through 1-2 acts in a few hours even while taking my time, so the pacing feels good and mini adventures between certain missions give a good break to grab alters or do events.

Skills/builds and diversity feel pretty solid but there's definitely room for growth. I've already changed my build many times on my Barb either to beat a boss or add synergy to a legendary drop. So far I've tried the classic spin to win build, hammer of the ancients with lots of shouts, a high CC upheaval build, and now a bleed + thorns build that's working very well.

However, the actual gear stats are a bit **** to put it lightly, simply because there are so many. It's infeasible to get the right set of stats with decent rolls, on every piece of gear - which can make things feel tedious. My current build is riddled with bonuses like 'reduce damage from distant enemies', but it's not worth the investment to reroll everything constantly since there's always another bad bonus to take it's place anyway.

Scaling is also another issue I've heard brought up, and I'll agree it can be fairly punishing, especially since it's easy to be under geared in this game - there aren't enough upgrades being dropped to keep up with mobs in the higher tiers, so levelling up can feel like a loss of power. This is further conflated by the gear stats I've already mentioned.

Despite this, it is still possible to experiment and theory craft at endgame (instead of just reading an icy veins guide), it just takes a little longer to get established with a new playstyle - which I think is tolerable.

What's most important, is the fact that the gameplay itself is fun and rewarding. I absolutely love spinning round and watching everything get melted. I love stun locking huge groups of mobs. I love watching a boss bleed out in 5 seconds and blowing everything up when I hit a rupture. But most of all, I LOVE ****ting on every Blizzard L; from cancelled overwatch PvE to WoW tokens in wrath - which should speak volumes about the fact I'm making a positive review about this game. This is a rare Blizzard win, but it's still not game of the year quality - it's a solid addition, and I'm sure it will keep improving as time progresses.

    -World Scaling-
Scaling for the game is tuned fine, it is a big debate and common misconception of players believing that difficulties are too hard but when there is only 4 difficulties and 2 of them are intended after level 50 they pose a good challenge and I think they are tuned well. Good things take time, there's no reason to rush to T4 without being prepared and going in with any setup with no gear effort and expecting to just automatically win.

    -Skills / Tree-
The skill tree is a little small and only offers so many differences between skill choice or passives when approaching builds but this isn't something new for diablo. Diablo skill tree and passives are meant to be more user friendly while still holding some choices for the player and not to be overwhelming with choices to the point of getting lost similar to other ARPG skill trees.

    -Mounts-
The mount system and function is probably the weakest point of the game and the way the mount functions in accordance to where your mouse is needs addressed and fixed but the initial implementation is a good start, hopefully some fixes and improvements to come.

    -Inventory-
The inventory system and stash works similarly to diablo 3 but has added tabs in the inventory for some items which is helpful however a gem inventory tab is definitely needed, the rest is easily manageable and it is nice to have things like quest items, gear aspects and elixirs separate from gear.

    -Loot-
A lot of players have complaints regarding legendries not feeling rewarding since you can simply upgrade rares into legendries but this assists with gearing towards a build that you want to play after searching for gear with certain stat bonuses on them rather than just having to endlessly farm legendries and hope they roll the exact stats that you need. I think this improves upon the system started in D3 where you would upgrade a type of rare and hope it came out as the specific legendary you were searching for.

    -Materials Vs Gold
Like any common goal within a game when trying to progress you have the ability to pick the things you focus on and how you spend your time and efforts. There have been many complaints surrounding the aspect of do you sell or do you salvage spare gear and some saying they run out of gold or materials and frankly I find them both easy to come by. Needing gold to do things with gear is a natural part of the game and re-doing your spec early on takes almost no gold to do so. If you find yourself running out of materials or gold you are likely doing too much to gear too fast or respecing very often to try new things.

    -Progression-
With the added ability of upgrading rare gear to legendaries the gearing progression feels pretty natural. If you are playing naturally it will likely take you just a few days to get into T3 progression and a few following that to get into T4. Again, common complaints are that it is too time intensive but I don't understand why everyone thinks they are going to be in T4 within 3 days of playing.

    -Final summary
Don't take diablo for a game that it is not, it is an ARPG grinding game with a mostly simplistic skill tree and a more expansive paragon tree with additional rune systems. It's a game with different gear multipliers and skill bonuses that assist your build depending on your playstyle and how you are aiming to build and play. Take your time, read your loot and upgrade your gear when you can while trying out new things to have fun and you will be able to get through the levels and difficulties and have a lot of fun doing it. Oh, and "git guud".

Anyways, is this game Diablo 2? No it is not. Is this game Diablo 3? No it is not. If you want to play a game like "boomer-ville" Diablo 2, then guess what? You can still play Diablo 2 (Resurrected even) and enjoy your "1-2 builds per class, killing Baal and Meph over and over" gaming session. People forget how repetitive Diablo 2 is just like all ARPGs. You act like that's not happening in those games still. Diablo 2 this and Diablo 2 that, STFU and move on.

Now, is Diablo 4 a 10 out of 10? Absolutely not, but it's definitely not a 0-4, either, hell even a 5. These whiners wanted something that was not Diablo 3 and they got it and they are still crying. They will cry until the end of time and review bomb things they can't comprehend. Because everyone is cooler and keyboard warriors on the internet, but I'd bet half of them can't put together a sentence and talk in-person.

Also, stop pre-ordering games. You don't want the so-called "trIplE A gAmEs tO tAkE my mOnEy" then stop pre-ordering them. You can't pre-order something and then cry that it sucks and ask for a refund. I be these are the same people who pre-ordered Anthem and Cyberpunk as well. You never learn do you?

Always online? It's 2023. If you don't have the internet then you have been living under a rock. Always online has been a thing since Neverwinter Nights in 1991, but people adored it. Ya'll are just adding it to the list of things to cry about because you joined the masses to hate on Blizzard who has done nothing, but make improvements to their culture and games.

Now the game; yes it is worth $70. You're going to put 70 hours or more into it and that's a measurement I go off. I know some think you need to only pay $10 for 5,000 hours of gameplay, its hard, but you'll survive darling. I see a lot of build-cryouts too. Guess what? You're gonna log onto Maxroll and pick the top tier build anyway, just like you did in Diablo 2 and as you still do in PoE. The game is a week old and you don't think there will be patches and build diversity coming? You obviously do not play games then.

It's not Diablo 2, its not Diablo 3, and it's not PoE. It's simply a new take on a cool series. You will have fun more than likely. I challenge you to not look things up and actually play the game yourself. Watch a streamer play it. Check out a friend's game before you buy it, whatever floats your boat, but DO NOT listen to the review bomb society because they can't get their nuts to drop who are going to farm the same things over and over for that one extra stat point on one piece of gear and scream "GG blIzzArd."

I played Lost Ark some and the money grab of that game made it truly unplayable. That was so bad, I quit playing all games for a little while.

The BAD: Going to get this out of the way first. The biggest detractors are easily the quality of life issues. No doubt, a separate gem bag should have been obvious from the moment they started coding the game. I also like map overlays from other games, including D2. The ability to search for items by stats should also be a thing. All of these things have probably been pointed out and should be easy fixes for Blizzard to implement. These should have been obvious for this genre, but really, the game has only been out a little over a week. Name the last game that didn't have any misses on day 1...

The GOOD: The game is fun. It plays well. The graphics are great and the main quest is fully voice acted with fantastic cutscenes. All things I would expect from the Blizzard games I grew up playing. (I know Blizzard has had a number of L's in recent years, so I was worried.) The endgame being nonexistent is maybe a hardcore player's issue. I am enjoying the open world aspects of the game, thought I kind of wish they would spawn world bosses and legion events a bit quicker so there was always one to go to (i.e. Guild Wars 2).

The BEST: This game is NOT P2W... The in-game shop is garbage and that is a great thing. It is not even remotely tempting to pay money for any of the skins. With mobs exploding up all around me, I can't even see my character a lot of the time and couldn't possibly care less about it. Disclaimer: My last truly hardcore ARPG playing days were D2 where all the characters literally looked the same and I didn't care then either. So, the best part of the game is that, for the first time in ages, I feel like I have bought a game and don't need to open up my wallet again.

So, if you want to play a fun game without worrying about getting your wallet out every other day, this is a great game and I would absolutely recommend it. I am sure they will fix the quality of life issues and everything else has been honestly fun.

This game isn't diablo 1-3, but I wouldn't even call it anywhere close to being like immortal

GRAPHICS AND HOW IT RUNS: I currently run a High Performance rig and limit my FPS to 60 overall. The graphics in this game initially looked a little watered down compared to when I played the beta, but I contribute this to the fact that I just didn't play a lot of the beta. This game does not cause my computer to run warm at all and I stay at that solid 60 FPS on high.

STORY AND CHARACTERS: I will probably come back and edit this later, but so far the story has my attention, with that being said I haven't run into anything that bores me other than some of the characters, something about their accents and dialogs just doesn't fit right to me.

GAMEPLAY AND MECHANICS: They reduced mob density by a large amount in this installation. Honestly, I am completely okay with that. It feels better to kill a few more challenging enemies than thousands of small enemies I would just one shot. This also makes the way you build so much more important. Do you wanna be able to kill something quick? Obviously. But some bosses just aren't build around you being able to do that so you actually have to think instead of mindlessly attack enemies.

Overall, I will provide updates to this review but wanted to put something honest out to float around in the sea of people complaining about lag or their connection problems, I have not had a single problem logging in and staying logged into the game other than initial release. I do not mind this being what I guess would be callee a "live service" game. Most of us have internet nowadays anyways.

TLDR: It's not my favorite game right now, but it's better than what a lot of people are saying it is.

Yes, there is almost no stash space, Gems take up the same slot a 2h xbow does, renown farming allegedly is being addressed this afternoon by the devs but I swear to G if I have to redo all of that bs I will STILL being playing this game because it is really fun! I've gotten to 80 then basically killed my character farming mats for cheat death procs and I wasted no time going again and am now 86.

I understand why there are a lot of negative reviews, I'm sure some of the objectively do not like the game, but the majority here of these 0's I kinda gotta laugh at, this game couldn't be a zero if it tried and marking it that low is generally a sign of git gud (not everyone, but most). If you only focused on the bad things I could see a 4 outta 10 but the base game, the cinematics, the fluidity of the gameplay (which still can use a lot of work) makes it a solid purchase, even though the price was a bit high.

Micro-transactions are in the game but the game doesn’t push it on the player. Graphically the game is beautiful. Im glad that the word “nephilim” wasn’t repeated every 5 minutes as it was in Diablo 3. The musical score is great. Not amazing but it’s great. It has some epic moments at certain points in the cutscenes but it can get annoying in some parts of gameplay.

With its rich lore, atmospheric world, and addictive gameplay, it is a worthy addition to the series. However, while the game excels in many aspects, it occasionally suffers from moments of sluggishness and monotony.

One of the standout features of Diablo IV is its captivating and dark fantasy setting. The game's art direction and visual design are masterfully executed, painting a grim and hauntingly beautiful world. From eerie dungeons to sprawling outdoor landscapes, each area is meticulously crafted with attention to detail. The atmosphere is enhanced by atmospheric sound effects and a haunting musical score that immerses players in the haunting realms of Sanctuary.

The gameplay mechanics in Diablo IV offer a satisfying blend of hack-and-slash combat, character progression, and loot acquisition. The diverse classes each offer a unique playstyle, encouraging experimentation and providing ample replay value. The visceral combat and the thrill of finding powerful loot create a sense of constant progression and reward.

However, one area where Diablo IV falls short is pacing. The game occasionally suffers from slow moments and repetitive gameplay loops, which can lead to moments of boredom. While the initial exploration and questing are engaging, there are instances where the game's pace slows down, making it feel like a grind. It is in these moments that the game could benefit from injecting more dynamic events or a greater variety of quest types to keep the player engaged and excited.

Despite the occasional lulls, Diablo IV's narrative is compelling and serves as a driving force throughout the adventure. The game's darker tone and mature storytelling present a captivating tale of ancient evils, personal vendettas, and the fight for salvation. Engaging cutscenes and well-written dialogue breathe life into the diverse cast of characters, making them feel like more than just quest-giving entities.

Multiplayer and cooperative gameplay add another layer of excitement to Diablo IV. Teaming up with friends to tackle challenging dungeons or engaging in intense player-versus-player battles can be a thrilling experience. The cooperative play fosters a sense of camaraderie and adds longevity to the game beyond the single-player campaign.

Diablo IV's graphics and performance are top-notch, with detailed character models, stunning spell effects, and smooth animations. The game's technical aspects contribute to the overall immersive experience, allowing players to fully appreciate the dark and foreboding world they inhabit.

In conclusion, Diablo IV is a welcome addition to the beloved franchise, offering a dark and immersive adventure that captures the essence of the series. While occasional moments of sluggishness and monotony hinder the overall experience, the captivating setting, addictive gameplay mechanics, and engaging narrative make it a standout title. With some fine-tuning to address the pacing issues, Diablo IV has the potential to become a truly exceptional game that satisfies both long-time fans and newcomers to the Diablo universe.

It's tough to say this game is a 10 when nothing really feels very new from a gameplay stance. Honestly, one could say we actually lost a lot of skill variety for most classes. The gameplay is still very solid, however.

    What is good:
Story (the main story takes you from 1st city and gradually move to all other cities with interesting actions)
A lot of references to 2nd part (Meshif, Andariel, Duriel and so on)
    Open world
    New dungeons systems
A lot of generating activities in the world
    Video scenes and actor voices
New reputation system for all your fighters
    Sounds and music

    What is not good:
Balancing with autoleveling system. Im not really sure that this is only one decision for online games, they could invent something more interesting.
Online. You need ethernet connection for playing (even for main story, not additional actions). I don't mind against other players in my world, but servers lag sometimes and my ethernet connection sometimes breaking, so game returns my progress.

In general i really enjoyed the project like in 2005. Thank you, Blizzard.

Patch 1.1.0 was really bad, but the devs owned the mistake and outlined a very specific path forward, so some of my trust is restored. Will update with a 10/10 rating when the fixes are actually implemented.

The game was fantastic at first but recent patches have really tarnished my experience since I play sorcerer. It was a 10, but I’m changing to a 8 based on the recent changes. I just hope they make my class viable again soon.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don't get all the nerdrage bandwagon on the patch notes :D

I am not 100% satisfied with diablo 4 but guess what, its a 7.5/10 game. They need some direction, they need more endgame activities and for sure they need to provide some sort of timeline with where we're going and what to expect in the next few months.

I like the campaign, i like the dark gritty atmosphere, i like the music, i like the art direction, i like the responsivness of the engine, i like how the game plays on 2k, I like the animations, the mobs, helltides, nightmare dungeons, the idea behind the tree of whispers (they need to improve this a bit)

I know the devs kept parroting "its a live service game" but that's what it is. That's the reality of today's gaming ecosystem, they will tune, adapt and change with every major iteration, some patches will suck and be full of nerfs and others will have plenty of QOL and major improvements.

I have anywhere between 5-10k hours in ARPGS, i've played them all, you name it, i played it. I played diablo 4 in these last month for copious amounts of hours even though i work a full time job, i have a young son and its summer, so we go out more often.

I have all 5 classes 70+ on torment and tried a plethora of builds on all of them until deciding what I enjoy most. I did not push to lvl 100 and did not push to deep nightmare dungeons (I think biggest i did solo was tier 55 on rogue class -> ranged)

I think all the moaning is because some classes do better than others in 70+ tier nightmare dungeons and some classes beat uber lilith faster than others or with more gimmicks. Does this affect me in any way? Not at all.

At the moment there is no ladder, no competitive aspect, no reason to really push the limits so I don't really see why everyone is so upset.

The game will be around for a while, skip a few seasons if you don't like the current state but from being upset on a non-ideal launch and a lousy patch and bandwagoning giving a disingenious 0-5 star rating for no reason other than being pissed off while ignoring all the good stuff is just lazy and entitled. its like going to a restaurant and screaming like a Karen at the staff that your fries were not cooked as you would have liked too and they are either too crispy or undercooked.

SURE as hell you have that right since you paid for the game and you want to enjoy it. I'm just trying to understand why people are ignoring the good stuff and focusing only on the bad...

Although I am not experienced in Diablo and ARPG, the game satisfied me in a short time. It revealed my curiosity, interest and love for this genre. The dev team made a lot of wrong decisions with Season 1, but they started to fix them based on community feedback. Highly recommended.

Personally feel like the blind criticism is an overreaction. This game is a ton of fun and very polished, the devs are listening to the players and giving their best effort to improve the experience. The way I see it, this game will only get better with time.

    Gameplay: 7/10

Maybe you can play a different one, but the environment is the same, and so the experience you get. My very first impression is that the game is beautiful. Lots of things to do, lots of dungeons to explore. The amount of side quests is just mind-blowing. You will probably hit the level cap of your chosen starting difficulty without touching the campaign if you do them all. If you like to roam around and discover new things, THIS is the game for you to kill a lot of time with.

On the other hand, from an old timer's perspective, the game doesn't feel as "hack'n slash-ish" as its predecessors. This is probably because there is a level-scaling system that adjusts everything to your current level, so the higher your level, the beefier the monsters become. The solution is to farm for good equipment and upgrade it to overcome such a situation. The reason why they implemented this feature is beyond my understanding, but it is there.

Social activities. Although everything can be done solo, this is an online game. You will see other players in town, on your travels. You can fight in open world events while not in a group. However, you will need to form a party if you want to dwell into dungeons with them.
Btw, there is no global chat built into the game. Only local, whisper, guild, and group chat.

Let's talk about the endgame. After you finish the Campaign mode, you can open up the Nightmare mode, which takes some work. Then you will be given a fair number of options to farm more higher level gear. There is a "Helltide" which randomly turns an area into a "corrupted" state from time to time, you visit the area, kill monsters, farm enough specific currency to open chests in the area to get a random Legendary, etc.

There is also a Sigil System where, you use a (random dropped or crafted) sigil to empower a certain dungeon stated in the sigil. The dungeon would become +n level higher than you depending on its Tier. The higher the tier is, the better the drop it became but the mobs hit harder.

There is also the "Tree of Whispers" which unlocks after you complete the campaign. Raids are there as usual. PVP is where you test how good your equipment and skills are. All of the endgame content except Raids can be done solo. But I would recommend getting a group to do them because it's theoretically a lot faster.

By the way, I haven't opened the next difficulty yet. Looking forward to it.

The game may not be perfect, at most a very generic game from a 21st century gaming perspective. If this game happens to win the GOTY 2023, the award result is definitely rigged. But I can promise you that the game is good enough to keep you busy for a while.

They are not bold enough to make a great game, in decades.

Confusing UI decisions. No separate storage tab for Gems. Not the best horse-riding experience. Odd twists during the story and weird pacing during Acts 4-6. Loot feels serviceable at best, unenthusiastic at worst, and the power climb starts to plateau past level 20 with barely any changes to strategy (even with new loot tiers and Paragon Boards). Some endgame activities like Helltides feel underwhelming.

    Thoughts-
Regardless, I’ve had my fill at the bloody buffet and found my appetite sated while craving something more. Perhaps Diablo 4 can deliver that later as more updates and quality-of-life changes roll out. For many players (best-selling game in Blizzard history, by the way), that’s more than enough. For me, it’s fine. No less fun and certainly no more.

The game is surprisingly fan on Steam Deck. But I cannot keep playing it because I don’t always have internet where I use my SD.

Because of the no checkpoint, no manuel save system a couple of times I had to play the last 15-30 minutes again which was disgusting.

The leveling of the enemies makes it pointless to play this game for long time. I gain level, enemies gain as much, in the end I’m at the point where I started the game.

The items found has the similar issue. The item I find become useless soon, so I don’t care anymore, I just make a few upgrades, use it for a few rounds and change it. I never found a good item at the sellers, it’s pointless to check them as well.

The Witcher 3 was one of the best balanced games I’ve ever played I guess. If you are at a certain level higher than the side quest that quest was becoming unplayable. You could find an item a few higher levels than yours and you needed to keep it until you reach that level. It was exciting to work on it. It's not kuantum physics, what gamers ask is clear, just use the logic.

The things Diablo 4 is good are; you can reset your skills for a reasonable amount. The difficulty is well balanced. Very few bugs. They worked on it this game for sure, not some sloppy job.

Easily deserves half the price they are asking for.

bosses do no damage. You can stand in place and face tank all the the mechanics on almost every boss. Could become a 9/10 with future updates. Could even be improved to a
10/10 and be the best arpg on the market but only with changes I doubt Blizzard would ever make. There is no cow level.

Reviewed after I beat the campaign and played 40 hours at the end game.

    Fun game with some issues.
Pros: Great atmosphere, music, sound design, fun campaign and decent end game.
Cons: Im not ready yet, Im not ready yet... Cooldowns annoying. Skills and itemization could use a major rework. Overly monetized after a high ticket price. Background graphics are great but effects and monsters are somewhat cartoony and lack the visceral feel of d2. Level design is

Level design is quite linear especially in the campaign and a lot of the open world feels constricted to set paths.
    Verdict:
There's a lot of potential here but its held back by the issues above.
Definitely not a game changer or worthy of 8-9/10 but I really don't see this being a 0-4/10 game.

Overall, it's a solid game, which is a surprise because it was made by Blizzard
Sound design, story, music and environmental art along with bosses are the things that carry this game.
However, it got pretty big flaws. 1. - build variety is lacking, because skill system is very restrictive, and you are locked in cycle of generator-cooldown-spender playstyle. D3 offered the player a lot

    2. - Endgame - despite having an allright endgame for launch, i'm just not interested in it because of how dungeons are structured - grab X or kill X, then return to the gates an kill the boss. This problem, however, could be addressed with future patches, unlike the flawed skill system
    3. - Itemization - another completely flawed system. Low amount of possible max. affixes, simplification of modifiers and some items like rings or amulets could stay with you from level 10 to level 100, because they actually rolled something useful. Not a fan of that

great cinematics, story, art design, atmosphere, finally nice campaign and story telling.
bad endgame, lack of build diversity (for now). super cc stunlocks can happen. boring dungeon objectives like kill all monsters. sometimes laggy. missing QoL example reset dungeon button gone, you cannot see completed sidequests. huge map area and too much collectibles on it, so how we play

skilltrees kinda simple. i don't like it.

Game has some itemization issues at the endgame and weird power level inconsistencies. These need to be addressed before Season 1. Better than what we got with Diablo 3's release, but this part of the game needs more time in the oven. Most urgent issue to address: separate gem bag, and a way to replenish power similar to what we would do with mana potions in Diablo 2.

    Also needs some

Also needs some kind of group finder system like we had in D2 and D3.

That all said, Blizzard nailed the atmosphere, story, and music. They've brought back the dark gloomy atmosphere of a Diablo game, and I have the same tingles I experienced with Diablo 2 as a kid. Sanctuary is a beautifully sad world.

Decent game, but definitely overhyped. Graphics are cool, gameplay is fun, the story is good. But there is an overabundence of items and enemies which becomes annoying after a while (very similar to Path of Exile) and the dungeons and events become repetitive. In short, the game is mostly item farming and level grinding. It's worth playing, but definitely it doesn't worth the price of $70.

It’s almost like Diablo 4 developers are consciously fighting against everything that made classic Diablo fun. [Issue#262, p.80]

While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.

The best Blizzard launch in a long time and a worthy game to be called Diablo.
