The best Blizzard launch in a long time and good game

People are crazy giving 0 and then complaining with low marks for their favorite games, there is no criterion and this game is not a 2, so it has to be put in its place...

I see reviews like 2 and 3… People are you nuts?!
Sure this game has some drawbacks. But i personally been having tons and tons of fun playing D4! Plot is interesting, class is cool (i play rogue), mechanics are very satisfying.
And you know what? The style is top notch! Its just a pleasure to spend time in this world, listen to dialogs, feel the grim atmosphere. Who cares about anything

I'm thoroughly enjoying Diablo IV. The campaign is compelling, the art is amazing, and I enjoy the numerous nods to the previous games, especially running into old friends and older enemies. I can tell that the team are fans of the franchise and not trying to remake it into something else. Changing set bonuses into "aspects" that you can mix and match on your gear is a brilliant departure from the previous games. I like the skill system and the paragon board, especially how certain glyphs on the paragon board incentivize investing in stats I might have ignored otherwise.

Yes, there are annoyances - the stash is far too small and barely functional for example - but they aren't fundamental problems with the game design and I'm confident they will eventually be fixed. I see the balance changes (aka nerfs) as a positive for my style of play. For me, ARPGs are about trying different build gimmicks not two-shotting the uber boss. killing less-geared players in PvP or billion-damage crits. I play for my own amusement, not to compete with other players, or to generate social media content. If you are a more competitive player, I would probably recommend waiting for leaderboards to be added. At that point, I'm guessing the balance changes will be less drastic, so any time you invest in developing strategies to level and gear up quickly won't be completely undone by one patch.

I can sympathize with players that are upset they're going to have to go back to the drawing board for their builds. But for me this is why I played seasonal characters exclusively in Diablo 3. I like creating a fresh character and trying fresh build ideas instead of having to retrofit existing characters to take advantage of the new items or fix gear that is no longer best-in-slot for a particular class.

Good game. There are some problems with the endgame content, which will probably be resolved as they were in D3, and there are some QoL features I would love to see in the future, like a separate gem inventory tab, reduced/missing cd on the mount, portals directly to the nightmare dungeons, etc.
Anyway, it is a solid foundation for a long-living game, a nice casual change of pace from PoE

Anyway, it is a solid foundation for a long-living game, a nice casual change of pace from PoE experience, with a good story (better than everything that was in Diablo before), great sound, and visuals.
Non-paid transmog looks really sick and in many cases better than the paid ones, and after thinking about it for a while - paid shop is not the worst thing to have, since this game is planned as a service, I just hope it will only be cosmetics and nothing that affects gameplay. The price tag is kinda hurt though.

I never had high hopes for d4 and I am glad that the game is good, for now, it can give one many hours of fun, and with good support, it could ramp up to thousands. Probably.

Regarding the open world and online: You sometimes see other players, you sometimes to some random events together and that's it, it is by no means too intrusive, as some cry.

Also, the area scaling is a good thing, no boring areas that are so far under you, that there is no challenge left, at the same time is the open world not so challenging anyway.

Balancing is not perfect and I'm sure we'll see quite some balancing patches incoming in the near future.

Where I'm not quite sure is how long the endgame can keep me busy. In any case, I'm eagerly awaiting the first season in July with new contents and challenges.

It incredible and everything I wanted in a Diablo game!
Please respect the amount of work and dedication this team did to bring us an amazing product. No clue how anyone can give this a 0 to 5. Sometimes fans or reviewers are just so disrespectful it makes me sad to think they can’t just sit back and enjoy things instead of tear things down. This game while not perfect is a blast.

Whatever the negative reviews are, are from ham and eggers who do not understand the fundamentals of modern ARPG games. The base of this game is fantastic, they just have to build upon it to make it a near perfect game. It's no Diablo 1 or 2 however that time has passed and we have what I call the real Diablo 3.

A solid starting point for the game. No queue times, rarely get disconnects or crashes, fun open world, tons of content and a great story. They've been very quick to squash obvious things that are broken and seem dedicated to making this a fun experience for all. The cherry on top is no pay to win gear / power. Fingers crossed they bring fresh content steadily coming!

The loot system and endgame can be improved, but looking at everything else the game offers, that's acceptable. The game is still better than everything else the market currently has to offer.

Let's face it: when all the real critics say it's a good game, then it's a good game and the children from certain toxic gaming communities who downvote the game are wrong.

I think people are hard, the game itself have fantastic graphics and creative content. Everything is much more better than D3. People didn't complain that much back in D2.
Some things could be improved like inventory management, and they probably will, but it doesn't ruin the game and it will certainly be changed soon.
The only thing I miss from D2 is trading.

Diablo IV is a vast improvement to the franchise, perfectly mixing the best features of 2 and 3, while adding lots of things on top that make the experience even better. The story is great, the combat is fun and deep, the world offers great explorations and things to do. Highly Recommended. It's sad that gamers, who have issues with certain aspects can't be reasonable with their reviews.

Build diversity ? I'm seeing complaints of "there's only 10 builds". You guys are ridiculous. Did you already make those 10 builds ? Do you not expect things to evolve in the future ? Maybe give the game more than a week before dismissing it ?

I get that we want to compare this game with all the great games that came in the past, but you can't expect ALL releases to be significantly better in every aspect than everything else at launch.

Can it improve ? Of course.
Am I having fun right now and getting my money's worth ? For sure.

It's not too complicated, while at the same time being challenging when needed. Also, the couch co-op is what sets this game above the rest. Maybe people would be giving it better reviews if they had friends to play with. Doing anything alone for long periods of time is enough to make someone hate something such as a video game. When I'm able to play, I enjoy playing for long periods of time, then when I'm getting irritated or burned out I go outside, work out, and maybe even touch grass. The mechanics are easy to understand but not so trivial to master, with the pace of new mechanics introduced (paragon at level 50) being good. The cost of rerolling equipment and imprinting aspects scales with level (even in relation to your income of those currencies) and so it feels that it's easier to create good gear early and gets harder as you reach end game, as it should. Aspects being imprintable is a good design decision that raises the floor so people do not have to spend 100+ hours finding aspects that are critical to their build. However, to actually have great gear, you will need to farm for high rolls on the aspects and stats on items. The fact that you don't have to find items with both great stats and aspect because you can imprint good aspects onto it is apparently controversial, but I don't think it should be. There are many QoL improvements over previous games, but people will always find something to complain about.

    Campaign:
The campaign can be played through in about 20 hours at a leisurely pace if you do not do many side quests, and has OK writing with excellent cinematics and voice acting as usual. The story has some major questions that they never resolved, for example at the start: why are we, a total scrub, trying to catch up to Lilith, a relatively important demon? Isn't that just asking to be killed? The ending was also a bit bewildering, but the leading up to it mostly made sense. Another point is that the player character never has any choice narratively, and makes some decisions that I would not. It's understandable as an ARPG that you have no choice in the narrative, but perhaps that's a point of innovation that Blizzard might've been able to go for.

    Combat:
Combat feels mostly fluid, but is plagued by being always-online. This leads to some rubber-banding and lag from my shoddy internet connection. Being online does not really offer much social benefits like a usual MMO, so it seems like it's mostly to combat piracy and as a form of DRM.

    Itemization:
A special note on itemization in addition to my comment under gameplay. I do not understand why many reviews claim itemization is ver simple - it is not. It's not on POE's levels of complexity of having connected gem slots, but it does not need to be that complex. Complex does not equal good. There are many damage modifier buckets that combine multiplicatively with other buckets and additively for sources within the bucket. This itself offers some depth to plan out gear to cover multiple buckets as they scale much better (as the modifiers can get to pretty high numbers - 100% damage and 100% damage in two buckets = 2 * 2 = 4x the damage for different buckets vs 1 + (1+1) = 3x the damage for the same bucket.

The bandits dragging an anxious monk through dark vaults seemed to just be a generic tease for the typical moment to moment gameplay. It all changes when Elias reveals himself and begins the ritual to summon Lilith and kicks off the next chapter of a story that I wouldn’t have expected to be this good. In a great move to get back in touch with the franchise’s roots, the story plays out as the wanderer is following their trail close behind dealing with the depravity left in their wake. It was the darkness of Diablo 2 but upgraded with modern storytelling tools that made you feel the sense of urgency missing in that game. Through gorgeous cinematics, gruff penetrating dialogue from Lorath, and a large handful of perfectly placed lore texts on relics and objects D4 gives you a near perfect story delivery and pays off with the journey and destination colliding in the end. I was wrong to doubt you, Blizzard.
Diablo 4, like its predecessors, is two different games. The brilliance of that opening trailer was I think it appealed and excited fans of both. The first game is navigating your character through this brutal story which brought back some much-needed hell back to the franchise. At multiple points I physically tensed up at the horrific displays of torture, gore, and body mutilation you would expect from a game all about demons. The game hits hard with action from the jump, and only has a couple long breaks to fill in story pieces that I wish had been a tad shorter. Outside these moments the story is a 9.5/10, and for me makes a run at top 10 stories ever told in video games. It’s wonderful to see a game use all the modern tools of cinematics, next generation graphics, phenomenal voice acting, and player character rendering to suck you in and make you feel every part of the journey. I have always liked both games nested within Diablo but thought game 1 was subpar compared to other triple A titles. My low expectations we’re sent straight to hell in this installment however, and once again Blizzard, my bad for doubting.
When you finish Act VI which I recommend making that your first and only goal, game 2 truly immediately opens. You are introduced to the Tree of Whispers and told how to collect Grim Favors from around Sanctuary, and this is a great jumping off point to start interfacing with the renown tracks of each region. It gives you a nice extra reward for completing tasks around the map that you are already rewarded for doing. I’ve played to level 80, and occasionally I still enjoy completing these for a nice minor cache of loot. The renown is a great way to get you to fully explore everything that sanctuary has to offer. The one gripe I had was the Altars of Lilith we’re cool for about 5 minutes, and then just became a boring task to just complete. Every other piece of the renown track was an enjoyable grind and got a good foothold into the game. Once this is complete you have your full 58 skill points, are probably somewhere in the mid 60s for your character level and have gotten a nice intro into the paragon board endgame systems. For the casual gamer who wants to continue playing other games and enjoying life outside, please consider that this is you beating the game. Like, seriously, please believe me, YOU DID IT. You beat the game. You accomplished everything that matters. Let me explain.
You beat game one after watching the epilogue cutscene at the end of ACT VI. This is a given. Game 2’s endpoint will be different for everyone, and I think that’s a great thing. For me in a non-seasonal environment, I’m about to reach the end of my progression dreams. From about 65 on with maximum renown, you are basically full build in terms of Legendary Aspects, the power of your gear is maxed, and you have started picking up powerful Paragon bonuses. By this point you have probably done a handful of nightmare sigils and leveled your glyphs which add substantial power. After that, it’s just numbers going up in a game play loop of Dungeons, Helltides, and Whispers. The amount of numbers that go up compared with the amount of these you have to do gets further and further apart. That’s it. If you enjoy that, head for 100 with glee. If not, wait till next season. You’ve beaten a game that is a bonified 9.5/10 to that point with very minor problems. You’ve enjoyed yourself much. Play something else and we’ll see you in July!

Diablo 4 is the latest installment from Blizzard in its long-running action looter RPG. Through all of Blizzard's issues Diablo still proves to be a best in genre showcase that's full of endless monsters, dungeons, and playstyles to enjoy.

Life in Sanctuary is tough, no characters, families, farms, or towns are safe from the endless doom and gloom that is pervasive in this universe, there are no happy endings here. In typical Diablo fashion you play as a nameless "champion" of sorts who is on a journey to stop the impeding demon threat/apocalypse, this time in the form of Lilith, daughter of Mephisto. The story is typical genre fare, though delivered in some really inspired and beautifully rendered cutscenes. In particular, the final full CGI scene is breathtaking, and features a cool and satisfying conclusion to this portion of the story.

Gameplay is fun and challenging, with many different options for encounters and playstyles. I played through the whole story as an arc/electric sorcerer, only switching towards the end to a firewall build that was much better. The action is quick and deadly, particle effects and gorgeous animations flash on the screen at a near constant rate during encounters. The game does feature some sharp difficulty spikes for sure, the main story is on average easier than the optional dungeons that are scattered throughout the world.

Post main story the game does get pretty grindy. After reaching level 50 you stop receiving skill points and instead earn Paragon Points which incrementally boost your character and provide mostly passive benefits. For non hardcore fans of the game/genre most of the interest will wane after the main story is completed.

All in all I never encountered a dull moment in my time rolling through the main story. The action and enemies are ever evolving and the loot and build structure of the lategame leads to endless opportunities for fun.

Beat on world level 2 with a sorcerer, roughly 25 hours to finish the main story.

TL;DR: Dark, gory, atmospheric, beautiful, responsive combat and addictive gameplay with some confusing game systems and imperfect UI tooltips.

Diablo IV is a good and solid, modernised entry that thankfully borrowed the good parts from it's three predecessors, and mashed them together in a beautifully designed familiar world with everything you want and expect from a Diablo game. The cutscenes (both ingame and prerendered) are incredibly well done, the music and sound are top notch, and on my low-to-mid PC and high-end PC, it runs extremely well, apart from a few rubber banding hitches.

Now, that's all nice, but how is the one thing you'll be doing a lot: slaughtering demons, exploding spiders and butchering goatmen. Thankfully, Blizzard decided to use the combat from Diablo III as a guideline, where even though over time and patches, the numbers and attacks ramped up to insane speeds, D4 retains a pretty fast combat system, even though movementspeed feels quite lacking until you unlock your mount after a few hours of the campaign .

The talenttrees are..fine. There are a handful of too many passives that don't do anything special apart from "increase x by y%" but overall, after gaining your legendaries with a pretty decent droprate, where skills exchange their "element" for example, a physical attack now counting as earth damage, opens up the talentrrees and tinkering to make a build around the gear you have pretty exciting.

So, is it great? No, not yet. I foresee a plateau of of endgame where people feel "done" with the game quickly, But, with the hope as how D3 had free patch and (minor) content updates a few times a year with seasons, here's hoping D4 will have the same treatment, that new content, items, difficulties and talentbuilds will be available rapidly, together with some (hopefully not overpriced) expansion DLC packs with a new class and story act. But so far, it's a pretty good game.

This is a great game. The storyline is epic, even if at times leaving you with not enough backstory. The levelling is great, and once the story is over, the paragon system is great. To be honest, the game is probably better than I was expecting. Well worth the price of admission. It has me hooked. Well played Blizzard. Nailed it.

It is funny to watch how some people are desperately trying to review bomb one o the the most solid game releases of this year. When your only complaint with a game is that there isn't more of it, you've got a good game on your hands. Better loot variance and mob variance would be cool, that would make the game a 10 for me.

Of course there are negatives about the game... it isn't perfect by all means, but it sure is a really great start for what's to come with Diablo 4.

    - One of the obvious downsides to Diablo 4 are the unstable network connections and server lag that happen here and there. If you're on PC a lot of that went away when i took off cross platform connection (hopefully they will fix it within the next few days/weeks).

    - I'm not a really big story guy myself when it comes to games, but the story did feel very short for what it is. As the game was made to also suit more casual and new players, I wish they also showed more of how/why sanctuary was made, more on lilith's and inarius' relationship and more overall important acts that explained the lore to new players that don't already know about it. It felt as though act 2 to 5 were just filler acts and didn't really introduce new important characters other than a few bosses here and there. As i said myself though, I don't care much about stories when i play games so this wasn't really a deal breaker for me. If you're really big into story you might find D4 a bit bland and boring, but I will say that Diablo's lore as a whole is a great one to look into.

    - I wish there was something in the D4 that visually showed you were getting a lot more powerful in the game (this has nothing to do with level scaling that will be in the positive section). As you level up a certain skill in the tree or add better overall stats to your items it should visually show that you are getting a lot more stronger by having more visually intensive skills. One of the things that D3 did right was make you feel like you were getting powerful as you progress further into the game (just please don't add items with 4000% bonuses in D4 thanks).

    Now for the positives:

    - The graphics don't have to be talked about much as everyone knows they are amazing which i agree with. I'm glad they are going back to the dark and gloomy feel of Diablo 2 while introducing a more modern and natural look to the game, compared to the cartoony look of D3. Nothing in the game that feels out of place when it comes to the graphic choice.

    - Love how soon end game starts in my personal opinion. Once you're done with the game you still have around 60 or so levels of game time.

    - I do like how legendary items work in the game and how you can obtain/craft them very early to already start working on your build. People who are having scaling issues just aren't building their characters right and don't understand that Diablo is a stat building game. I haven't had issues going into the torment difficulty and i entered it before hitting level 60. I will agree that the game is a lot more challenging than Diablo 3, which i really been enjoying. It feels a lot more rewarding completing nightmare dungeons and I really love the new twist on the paragon system. instead of completing rifts to level up gems that go into your items. You level up glyphs that go into your paragon board.

    - DIablo 4 just gives a lot more room to work on more unique builds. You could follow a guide at first than develop to making a build that suits more of your play style.

    - Lastly, I love that they are forcing online play. I've always played the Diablo series majority of the time alone and it's seems like I've been pushed a lot more in the game to play with friends. I do wish in the future that they do add 8 player (bigger group) features, like how you could set up servers to have 8 people in Diablo 2. Yes they have world bosses with 10 people but those other 9 people aren't your friends.

And although there are constructive negative opinions that I respect even if I don't share them, we all know how a bomb review works.

Most of the negative reviews are:

-The decade-old debate about DLCs and microtransactions, because apparently they're forcing you to buy them at gunpoint. I didn't pay for a mount in WoW for 20 euros, and I won't do it now. That didn't stop me from enjoying the game. If you want to do it, it's your money, your problem.
-The Diablo 2 fans. It's been 20 years. I don't want to fill my inventory with teleport scrolls, I prefer a button. You call this casual, I call yours abnormal. Welcome to 2023.
-Hating on Blizzard as a vocation. It's true that they messed up quite a bit lately, but this is not the case. In fact, you can feel some redemption in how they're handling things.
-Server issues. They're actually right about this one. I've only experienced one or two disconnections, not a lot, but enough to make me think twice about playing with permanent death heroes for now, just in case.

If there aren't more positive reviews, it's probably because people are enjoying the game at the moment, as every time I log in, it's full of people. I just drink my coffee while reading troll comments to feel like I'm in the countryside with the sheep's bleating and put myself in a good mood. But now I'm logging in for a couple of hours of fun.

    Have a nice day :)

Still need some quality of life stuff (gem tab, stash search function etc). Would've liked a higher difficulty option for the campaign, bosses just fall over even though I played one of the weaker classes for early leveling (Druid).

It is a game that allows both casual players to enjoy it through the story and side content as well as the more hardcore audience with the challenge provided later on into Tier 3 and through 4 up through the end of the current content. Plenty of more content on the way as well that can be played both on lower tiers for a casual audience and higher tiers still in the form of full fledged expansions as well as seasonal content every 3 months. Thus, it is a live service game and online.

Visual 9/10 - The game is visually impressive. The best looking ARPG we have to date, the upcoming PoE2 will be up there with it, but we have only a very small trailer to go off for that. Regions are diverse from one another with each zone varying in the regions. Dungeons, albeit the aesthetics recycled heavily in the 115 available, are all well crafted visually and diverse. Cutscenes are phenomenal, both the in-engine and cinematic. Character design is diverse amongst the playable classes. The various armor pieces and weapon pieces are highly diverse and allows great customization on appearance through the transmog system. Returning enemy types have been visually upgraded and the new enemies all look great. Boss design is good, though reused in dungeons, which i'll get to why that's not necessarily a bad thing. Important bosses are all very unique and very impressive from their design to their arenas to their abilities. My only gripe visually is that the camera is a bit close and claustrophobic for my liking.

Audio 10/10 - Aurally the game is magnificent as well. Everything is done to extreme levels. Skill sounds, enemy sounds, music, ambience, music, voice acting. I can not stress it enough, this is probably the only game where I won't skip even side quest dialogue because every character with voice lines is recorded at a masterful level.

Gameplay 8/10 - This is the biggest portion of the review obviously, and the most important. Diablo IV is an ARPG and it plays like a Diablo game. The skill tree is different than that of previous iterations, while still returning the Paragon system though vastly different and improved. You have 100 levels, the first 50 of which allocate 48 skill points to be used, an additional 10 can be earned through side activities earning renown in each region, a total of 2 per, for a total of 58 skill points. Onward, with 4 per level, and an additional 20 per renown, are Paragon points for the paragon system which allows further build customization through simple stat boosts to percentage boosts to resistances or damage output, to rare nodes to glyph nodes to legendary nodes. Some skills are just outright worse than others, but if every skill did the exact same amount of damage, then there'd be zero reason to play and experiment with the various skills, passives, ultimate skills, and numerous aspects in the game.

Now, speaking of these aspects, these can greatly modify your class and builds, from changing the type of a skill to another type for increased synergy, to completely altering it's functionality, and unique items which will further these changes, there's a ton of potential here.

A GIANT gripe I have with people complaining about build diversity, they clearly haven't spent more than 3 minutes allocating random skill points and random legendary aspects and wondered why their build with zero synergy didn't work as much as someone who painstakingly went through and theory crafted builds and posted it online for others. Grow up. Accept that you don't have the capacity for the levels of thought to measure percentages and weigh the benefits of using one aspect in a slot over the other or the usage of a 2 handed weapon over 2 one handed weapons. Personally, I've made it to level 60, a second time on hardcore, with a completely custom Nature's Fury build. It's a lot of work, it takes testing, but it's doable and it's fun.

The campaign is well done, the best campaign in an ARPG easily, let alone probably one of the best in just gaming in the last few years outside of some stellar worlds that have been created. End game activities really begin after World Tier 3, following the completion of the first major test in a capstone dungeon, meant to be a challenge and test players. Tree of Whispers missions replace the adventure mode bounties and shift regions and zones every so often. Nightmare dungeons have, so far at least, replaced Rifts and Greater Rifts from Diablo 3. These are sometimes heavily modified dungeons, with modifiers that can both benefit you and the monsters, these also level up in difficulty, forcing the player to further fine tune their items for survivability and damage. Another capstone dungeon between World Tier 3 and 4 at level 70, and at level 100, a showdown with a reincarnation of the campaigns final boss that is a challenge to face.

    Overall, Diablo 4 is a 9/10, easily.

Start a character, do campaign missions, go off into the sidequests, go venture into a spot you haven't yet, go waste some time getting collectibles (they level your stats anyways, nerds).

The game, which was already criticized for its slow pace, has been further bogged down by a series of nerfs that have affected every aspect of gameplay. All classes have been weakened, enchantment costs remain high, and the Helltides, a key feature of the game, have been slowed down. The patch has also severely nerfed boosting and reduced the experience bonus for killing higher-level monsters by a staggering 90%. The changes to critical and vulnerable damage, nerfed by 17% and 40% respectively, have further reduced the game's appeal. The game's pace, already a point of contention among players, has been slowed down to a slog, making progress feel tedious and unrewarding.

Adding insult to injury, even the teleportation mechanic, a seemingly minor aspect of the game, has been affected, with the channel time for the Leave Dungeon ability increased from 3 to 5 seconds. This change, while small, is emblematic of the overall direction of the patch - a focus on slowing down gameplay and reducing the effectiveness of various strategies and tactics. The result is a game that feels less like an epic battle against the forces of Hell and more like a chore. The excitement and anticipation that once surrounded Diablo 4 have been replaced with frustration and disappointment. The game, in its current state, fails to deliver on its promise, earning it a score of 0 out of 10.

Some encounters offer great fun and excitement. Downsides include that leveling up feels like you get weaker compared to the entire world, and that you may be seeking just the higher level version of your current gear, and the open world might need more content to offer more hours of gameplay.

Unfortunately, after completing the main campaign, the endgame might not offer the pull to drive players to want to continue onwards to hit level 90 or 100.

I expect future season and expansions to keep this game feeling fun to those who love the Diablo franchise. A great game that everyone should give a try.

It has, as I said, a more mmo-ish vibe to it and it is definitely far slower paced even at it's fastest point. The slower pace is a good thing for me personally but may not be for everyone.
I am not sure how I feel about the level scaling since it takes wind out of my sails when it comes to power gain. I just don't quite feel like I am getting stronger consistently.
Story is decent to quite good and it feels tonally proper to a Diablo game.
The game has more than enough content and fun enough to more than justify the base buy in price, it is a fully fledged game in all regards with NO p2w as it should be (early access is irrelevant since Seasons are not launched nor is there a ladder (yet)).

That being said, the microtransactions, "cosmetic only" as they may be (for now?), are a significant negative.
I have zero confidence in blizzard not to get even greedier as time passes for the game since they've already added a metric ton of paid cosmetics: premium bp (will become active when Season 1 launches) + many additional shop cosmetics.
If they keep up with the in-game cosmetic equivalent additions and not have all the best looking stuff only in the shop then it will tolerable for me personally. I do not want to have to go to the shop (zero satisfaction) to get that one look I want on my character, I want to earn it in-game.
Doesn't change the fact that many unique looks are/will be paid only, intolerable for many, and legitimately so, I am borderline on this for now.
Is this really the price of having future content?
This game's future will live or die by future updates, if they fail to deliver the cosmetic crap will be even more egregious since they will have failed to justify the additional cost.

To me the game, if I were to ignore the mtx (which is easy to do for now since I am distracted by all the content), would be a 9/10, if I am to take them into account and the fact that I feel the level scaling detracts from the sensation of power progression.. 7.5/10.

-expensive cash shop. This is true the skins are pretty expensive in there but that currently is all that is in there no inventory tabs like in other games or other game play benefits. Looking at you poe -shaky servers
The first few days of a launch are always shaky for the servers of a online game this should be known by now, however with that said I see no reason as to why this game was forced to be always online seems silly to me...but it's not the only one in the genre to do this again looking at you poe -the game loop is shallow
I do think there is a bit of a point here but only if you rush through the game at breakneck speeds. A new season is already on its way with more coming this type of game is always a marathon not a race.
    - it needs a way to just go into a dungeon without walking to it
....yes yes it does lol. This is legit criticism poe does this so well and it allows you to just go straight into the action after your last dungeon so here is hoping they figure this out.

There are other much smaller things like music being bad which I disagree with but that is heavily subjective and few others but yea Currently the game is solid its good. It has its problems a few odd balance issues that need ironed out but they have shown to be quickly working on that I mean 6 patches in a week mates they are working on the balance.
