Not fun at all. Whoever did bl 2 did not do bl 3............You wait and have expectations. But this fails completely to continue where bl 2 left off...........They just killed the franchise......You can have the game back. I am done with borderlands forever.

Only get this game if you feel like paying 50+ bucks to beta test an unplayable mess.

This game's performance is absolutely abysmal. The fact they released it in such a pitiful state is mind blowing.

FPS can drop a bit when in 4 player mode and a lot is happening but other than that I haven't had too many problems. (Running a 1080Ti and i7700K at 3440 by 1440 normally around 90fps with a mix of med and ultra settings).

*Also to add one thing, I am very happy that they did not jump on the live service band wagon and stayed true to what the series was about. Also people the complain about Microtransitions being everywhere... there aren't any yet so your bias is showing =p

Overall it's a great game and I can't wait to play more and with more characters.

    - Like most everyone is saying, I can confirm that the game does indeed run like hot garbage and is buggy. Lots of FPS dips and small freezes/stuttering. This ruins enjoyment of the gameplay/gunplay.
    - I already wasn't impressed with the writing and characters from the different videos/trailers they put out. Tried playing the new Siren and yeah, definitely still wasn't a fan of her personality and abilities. In my opinion, they keep making the Siren class worse and worse with each successive game.
    - I only played a little but in that time I didn't experience any really cringe writing (it's Borderlands, being cringy is kind of par for the course though) but none of it was good. Just meh.
    - Multiplayer aspect sucked, nobody ever joined my game when I set it to public. When I joined another game it was with one other person who was doing a quest i hadn't even started, who was already almost done with that quest, and who was way the **** on the other side of the map. When I went back to single player, a ton of content was now skipped because I had joined him and it advanced it for me. What a joke of a game.

Anyways, the poor performance and bugs was more than enough to request the refund. I hear the game is pretty short and doesn't do much innovative - it's just more of the same, and it does seem that way. Not worth $60 imho and not worth supporting such terrible practices. Few other industries get away with the kind of BS that video game developers are allowed to get away with. It's sad.

So, Intro: whoever did the writing for the game should be lobotomized immediately, I haven't seen less creative storylines and quests in 40 years of my life EVER.

Middle: now you have guns for the sake of guns, the game just throws TONS of trash guns towards you, that don't really make any sense. After 10 minutes you stop caring and just buy a gun with biggest number in the corner. You can try to calc DPS, but it's pretty much impossible and useless to compare guns against each other. As for gameplay, game is too easy, after 4 hrs of play I've amassed $6000 and i had nowhere to spend this money on, enemies are never a danger to you, you just kill them like flies with no real challenge. Side quests are tedious waste of time. HUMOUR that was the essence of borderlands 1/2 is now dull, boring shadow of it's former self, it's not trying to make you laugh, it's just not damn funny. Hello, guys? Yeah, the previous borderlands were made in another era, now you've gotta be careful with all the edgy jokes or you get a bad press from SJW idiots whos feelings were hurt. I get it, 2K, yeah. But all of the above just killed the franchise.

End: Huge disappointment, I honestly want my damn money back.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall i'd say it's a great game but the endgame needs a polish. Obviously it's early days so I can't judge it too harshly but the high drop rates and guns having exactly the same gear score and fire power for the most part is a bit of a let down at level 50.

My 2 main criticisms of Borderlands 3:

    - The endgame is stale. After level 50 the guns are all fairly on par in terms of power, looking at purple and oranges only barring anointed weapons. The endgame itself is also stale at the moment as there is nothing to do after 100% galaxy completion and TVHM as TVHM was also just a copy of normal mode and offered nothing new. Obviously this will be improved in future updates but as of now I feel like after hitting 50 and getting a few guardian ranks and some decent unique weapons the game is just done and there is no farming or fun replay-ability. The loot drops at end game are too common and too similar in power that it doesn't feel satisfying when a purple or orange drops.

    - There are a few bugs in end game which make the game look a little unpolished 2 examples being the fact you can get over 100% galaxy completion, and the other being your guardian rank can go to a minus number which is also pretty game breaking. The second obviously being a bigger bust. Again they will probably patch this but it still adds a lack of functionality. A few annoying glitches too such as circle of slaughter enemies being stuck in walls.

    Regarding the characters:

I have only played Zayne and have 40 hours in the game. I am not a motivated person therefore will not be playing the other characters soon as Zayne is clearly the strongest and fastest character, and I find running at 3-4x the default run speed fun and other characters can't do that.

    Regarding the comedy:

It has never really bothered me, I am indifferent to the comedy in borderlands as some of it can give a mild inner giggle and some you just shrug off, but it's fairly harmless either way and it's a waste of energy to be annoyed at comedy :). The side quests have always been a bigger part of the comedy and some of them are pretty humorous: an example being the buff movie buff | tommy wiseau parody.

    Regarding the guns:

I feel like SMG's are too strong. Otherwise there is a lot of choice and the guns do feel different and fun to use.

    Regrading the enemies:

The variety in enemies in borderlands 3 is pretty amazing, the design of these enemies in contrast to their planets makes them feel like new enemies have been in Borderlands forever. An example of this being the Jabbers and Eden 6.

    Regarding the bosses:

The bosses are a tad bit too easy. I feel like the later bosses are far too easy making it feel like less of an experience to remember. The mechanics are fine but they could do with being sped up like they can be with mayhem mode. There are no invincible bosses as of yet which is disappointing.

    Regarding the story:

The story felt fun to play through and I don't really have any major criticisms for it as I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am looking forward to the DLC and how they will advance the story and create new ones.

    Regarding the characters:

I was a little disappointed that some characters weren't in it as much such as Kreig, Gaige and Ned but this was outdone by some new characters which I enjoyed - Balex being a new favorite, and let's just pretend Ava doesn't exist. For me pretty much all the characters introduced on Eden 6 are top content

    Other notes:

The planetary system and the planet themed music was well created and gave me a ratchet and clank vibe which was a nice nostalgic moment. I am not a fan of the new map system where it turns the mini-map blue when you explore it as I feel it looks better when an entire zone is covered when it is unexplored and vise versa.

Honestly, I don't know what all the complaints about bugs and performance issues are about. The game runs pretty smoothly on my decrepit hardware (8 year old processor and MB - 3 year old graphics card), and I've played 50 hours and only hit a single bug. This game is infinitely more polished on release than, say, Skyrim; which unsurprisingly has a much higher overall review score. This game is infinitely more polished on release than, say, Skyrim; which unsurprisingly has a much higher overall review score. If people are going to flock to the review boards and give a game like Borderland 3 a 0 for bugs, then I just don't even.

    ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY
It's solid. I felt like choice of skills/abilities matters a lot more in this game than its predecessors, good variety of weapons that feel and handle differently, much improved movement and shooting mechanics from the previous games. I mean... honestly, it's just really good, rewarding gameplay. I don't know about anyone else, but when I buy a game, I want it to have solid gameplay. That's the thing I care about. The GAMEplay, in my GAME.

    STORY
Eh. I mean, it's not great, I'll admit; but again, the writing is at least as good (if not better) than the overwhelming majority of AAA titles I've played this decade. It's nowhere near than the BEST of those games, sure; but that's a not a fair or reasonable metric, either. BL3's story is serviceable, and the pacing meshes well with the gameplay and the level design; works for me.

    CHARACTERS
Most of your favourites from the series are back; some with solid writing and great moments, others... less so. Which, like any sequel, is pretty much inevitable. In a lot of ways, this game suffers from the success of BL2; but judged on its own merit, the characterization is just fine. No complaints here.

    LEVEL/ENCOUNTER DESIGN
Even more than the solid core gameplay, this is where BL3 deserves the most props. The overall encounter and level/map design is exceptional. Lots of interesting terrain to keep encounters dynamic and interesting, good mixes of enemy units (for the most part) keep you changing tactics and (mostly) clever boss fights make for fun punctuation. Plus the maps have a healthy, but not excessive, amount of little secrets and discoverables to make exploring them fun. These teams did a great job.

    OVERALL
Solid game. I honestly can't understand all the vitriol. Except, maybe (just maybe) a bunch of whiny entitled **** who expected to get free review copies because they're some tiny youtube "celebrity" or twitch-streamer or whatever feel slighted and/or called out; and now they're flocking to the reviews to **** on BL3 because they are tiny, miserable, petty people... NAH; couldn't be THAT.

As a fan of the Borderlands series, I can wholeheartedly say this game blows ass. Multiple bugs, lag in online multiplayer, and that's on the technical side. In terms of gameplay, the drastic shift of how guns function compared to Borderlands 2. The bosses are overpowered scum. I've found myself dying over 20 times fighting the same boss. I wanted to love this game but i couldn't. I have 23 hours in it, I have encountered 2 gamebreaking bugs in story missions. I'm not making another character.
There are sync issues also. I lost the best pistol in the game due to it.
Avoid this game until they fix it if that's ever going to happen.

Those 9 and 10 reviews are full of Borderlands fanboys, that's a shame, the half of these reviews give those ratings because are for fighting the others, that's really pathetic.

And now, for the game. Is buggy as hell, the jokes are stupid before yes, but these are now cringeworthy. And the politics give his step at this beloved franchise. Don't buy the game.

my gameplay review: borderlands 3 takes everything that borderlands 2 and pre sequel did well and combines the 2, i found pre sequel to have a very vertical based combat because of the jumpacks and in borderlands 2 it was all about speed, right now in borderlands 3 i have a build on the character zane that makes it so the more im moving the more overall damage i do and also i have a jump slam(which is something i forgot about until late game) relic that will shoot out homing rockets meaning im constantly jumping and moving around fast making it a mix between speed and vertical combat. i have the person im playing with playing moze and they have a build that makes them a tank (literally) they have tons and tons of sheild and the more damage they do the more sheilds they get. these are just across 2 characters and not including the crazy modifiers you can get on the sheilds and the class mods. the bosses in the game are crazy, theres 4 vault monsters really (the rampager, grave ward, troy calypso, and tyreen calypso"destroyer") of all of them i love farming grave ward he is the fastest one to kill and gives some good loot, troy calypso is very unique and has some cool attacks, but the final boss tyreen calypso was insane, her attacks would always catch me off gaurd and her player model in visually amazing its this massive tentacle beast with a girl in the middle of it controlling it. it is a very difficult fight and has left me wanting more like a raid boss. thats where i feel this game falls slightly, im sure it will change as dlc comes out but theres no raid bosses from what we can tell, ive done alot of the side quests and still havent seen anything.

the story review: the story for this game is all over the place, i think because of the different planets it makes it almost falls under 4 big arcs, the promethea arc, the eden-6 arc the nekrotefayo arc, and the pandora arc. when they announced the planets i figured it would have been across 4 planets and very quickly but each planet feels like their own mini story, when on promethea your seeing whats happening with atlas corperation and rhys, when you go to eden-6 you get to see where the jakobs corperation is and whats going on with the hammerlock family, as you come to pandora you start to see whats going on with brick and mordecai also everyones favourite psychopathic deomolitionist "tiny" tina finally you go to nekrotafayo(i dont think im spelling that right) it is the home world of the eridians and man does this place ever reveal alot, after you complete the troy calypso fight you get the ability to read eridian writing and with this it finally opens the borderlands story right up the way we all wanted from the beginning, we learn everything about the sirens how they work how people become sirens, why the eridians were wiped out and why the vault monsters exist, in the end you meet a dwarf named typhon deleon, throughout the game you find his logs all over the place and find out that way that he was the first vault hunter and found the first vault, and also that he died getting to the eridian homeworld. im running out of characters so i will finish this by saying i love it. i love borderlands 3

Randy Pitchford made us a two word promise when Borderlands 3 was announced: "More Borderlands" Did Gearbox fulfill that promise? Absolutely. I have absolutely zero reservations about giving this game a perfect score, and I'm only about a quarter of the way through the first play through. From the poop and sex jokes to the comic-book art to the absurdity and general nonsense, this game is everything that the last three Borderlands games have been. That's all that was promised, and that's what was delivered.

    Disclaimer:
For a certain type of gamer, especially a certain type of FPS player (looking at you, Call of Duty), the Borderlands series will never be satisfying. It glitches. It lags sometimes. The weapons are sometimes useless due to some weird gimmicky projectile even though the stats are great. The skill trees and class mods require things like planning and strategy. Borderlands 3 would be easier for a Dungeons and Dragons player to pick up than a Battlefield player. It's an FPS for RPG players, Borderlands 3 has more in common with Diablo 3 than Battlefield 3, right down to the inside jokes and loot goblins.

    Technical Review:
DX12 support is listed in game as being in beta. Obviously, that means don't use it if you aren't prepared to drop all your settings. I have a Titan Xp, and on DX11, I'm running the Badass settings at 2560x1600 and getting 50-60 frames. I get 60 by dropping down to Ultra, and occasionally it'll drop some frames during a particularly intense mega battle, but otherwise it's pretty good. This is way better than I expect from Gearbox in general (no offense, but polish isn't their strong suit), and especially for a game I started playing on Day 1. Borderlands 1 still has major glitches and severe crashes as of the last patch (map-diving and infinite loot and etc). Borderlands 2 never quite got to flawless but the glitches never really broke the game. Borderlands 3 hasn't given me a single issue in 20+ hours of play so far except that one time I tried to use DX12. No crashes, saves always load right, etc. Sometimes the subtitles are a little delayed? Sometimes I get a mission vehicle stuck in a tree from doing stupid jumps and have to walk to a Catch-a-Ride to respawn it? Could be a lot worse for Day 1 launch (looking at you, Mass Effect: Andromeda).

    Gameplay:
It's Borderlands. More Borderlands. More guns, more missions, more world(s), more dialogue, more story, more impactful scenes (I cried twice already for real). There's suspense, there's excitement, there's moments of redemption and moments of tragedy. There's also a mission to make a bomb shaped like a pizza, a rocket launcher that launches raw sewage, characters that wouldn't be out of place in one of those weird edge-lord Marvel experimental studios, and CL4P-TP. So much CL4P-TP. The Lost Loot Machine on Sanctuary is great; forgot to grab a blue or purple or orange item? The machine will pick up the rarest item you left behind, and SDU upgrades let you expand the lost loot capacity as well.

One of the biggest changes over previous Borderlands games is that your weapons now require planning and strategy. Maliwan weapons need to charge up first, COV (Bandit) weapons have to be field repaired instead of reloaded and the repair times vary, Torgue bullets (called Gyro-Jets) are slower than normal bullets. So on and so on. Getting a good overall build makes a huge difference; you have to combine your weapons, class mod, skill tree, and playstyle into something that works together cohesively. Building a loadout feels almost like playing League of Legends sometimes; dying and respawning gives you a chance to buy, sell, and adjust as you go as long as machines are nearby.

The red text items aren't just for collecting and show anymore. Many of them have unique and sometimes game-breakingly overpowered special effects. One blue gun makes every 7th shot arc to nearby enemies for more damage. Boost your fire rate and reload speed in your skill trees, and you have a gun that can shoot a near constant stream of shock bullets that arc to any nearby enemies, and the arcs are also stackable; it'll arc to all nearby enemies. I got it at level 16 and am still using it at level 24 against Guardians and shielded enemies.

    Conclusion:
Remember when I said it was ridiculous? It's ridiculous. The entire appeal of this game is that it remains constantly on the edge of suspension of disbelief, never quite entirely crossing it, always teasing you just a little bit. It's a game you enjoy playing, not a game you play to win, or play to rank up and lord it over anyone. You play it because when you melee enough enemies to death, you get a challenge completion that says "Boop." You play it because you can light enemies on fire, then shock them, then fire acid at them, irradiate them, and then freeze them, all in beautiful cel-shaded graphics. It's a game that's brutal at times, but the fun kind of brutal. It's More Borderlands.

It's more of the same, which is fine. What irks me the most is the lack of ability to skip cut scenes. This is painful when making a new character as you're wasting a good 5 minutes listening to a story you already know. Menus have never been a strong point of the series, and they remain a flaw. The map is an improvement though & graphics, while stylized, are visually better.

    3. The fun element is there, although very repetitive starting at the middle of the story (not gonna spoil but people who played it will understand).
    Now for the bad Stuff:
    1. The game IS NOT Borderlands 3, is more like Borderland 2.5.
    2. The game is a Broken Mess.
    3. The gameplay is laggy and broken, and it doesn`t have the stability to back it up.
    4. The monetization aspect of the game is another piece of **** that woasn`t necessary in this franchise at all.
    5. The Story is a dissaster.
    6. The humor is horrendous after the first hour you play.
    7. Randy Pitchford is still CEO of Gearbox (what world are we living in?)

    Conclusion & closing comment:

Buy the game when its on sale (or when they release a full patch and make it stable) or wait (because it will happen) for the Game of the Year Edition.
This game IS NOT worth full price at the state it was released.

Great game. In my opinion a much better borderlands 2. I'm currently lv 50 and had after 30hours of gameplay 2 crashes. And no frame drops. I'm playing on a rather low end machine and the game ran smoothly at high settings with 60 fps. Had no problems with EGS as well. Most oft the negative reviews are just mad that it's not released on steam.

The influence of American politics is apparent in this game. The cancer of inclusivity has seeped through to this game where there is an over-representation of women in roles that are not stereotypical to them all in the name of inclusivity. The only muscular tough character is an "Indian" woman... Name one muscular Indian woman you've seen in your life... There are countless other examples of this crap in this game.

The "humor" falls flat. When it's "on" all the time and EVERY...SINGLE...LINE... is delivered as a quip and an attempt at a joke that it just gets extremely annoying after the first 10 minutes.

Writing this made me realize that I really dislike this game and that I should give Destiny 2 another shot.

So after replaying the first 16 hours of the game again (yes I lost 16 hours of progress :D) I had the opportunity to really appreciate just how horrendous the **** show I was looking at was. The user inter face bugs, the dialogue cuts, the unskippable 5 minute cut scenes, the inability to turn in quests, inability to respawn quest vehicles, enemy AI somehow being worse than it was in the last game, inconsistent frame rates (across all resolutions), and my personal favorite items disappearing from the bank like they did in 2!

Honestly I'm enjoying the story and the side quests feel like there was more effort put into them which is nice, but the game desperately needs polish. As someone who played Borderlands 2 over a thousand hours I consider my self a huge fan of the series, but at the moment the amount of bugs I'm encountering trying to do anything just frustrates me. If you are having a better experience congratulations but I doubt you are, you're just putting the blinders on and ignoring the bugs like I did my first 16 hours.

Borderlands 3 is kind of like a Borderlands 2 expansion. Its mores Borderlands and it's mostly as we know it. There's, of course, new characters, story and some improvement to the game, but the spirit of Borderlands lives on in this title. That's not necessarily a bad thing, not at all. You got Co-up campaign, both online and via LAN, you got Boss hunts and even a Slaughter everything that comes at you mode in a group.

Borderlands 3 is sadly not without bugs and has some annoyances as well. Most bugs I have encountered was in the Circle of Slaughter mode, where 3 out of 4 matches bugged out in the final match and couldn't be completed, which meant you couldn't complete your quest and got no rewards other than drops from the match. Why it bothers me a lot is a match can take between 30 min to 1 hour to complete. So ending up with a bugged out mess really gets on my nerves.

Picking up gear and weapons feels slow, and fx there's an ability that spawns health or shield for you but you have to go to it and press E and in the heat of battle that just does not work very well. If it was instant picked up on an approach that would work much better. Some quest is not intuitive to find out where you need to teleport to and the map rotation was really really slow for me. It was confusing to me that the big map turned around. I could change the small map to stand still but not the big one.

All in all though, I have had great fun playing Borderlands 3 and it deserves my rating of 8

The character classes are well done, they all seem balanced and fun. My one gripe, and I’m sure this is many people’s gripe who enjoy playing with a buddy/partner at home, why is there is NO VERTICAL SPLIT-SCREEN at launch? I can forgive the lag, obviously the guys at Gearbox needed more time to optimize and will do so in the future via patches, but no vertical split screen is a couch co-op KILLER for this game. Horizontal just doesn’t work on modern sets. Add two points to my score if it’s patched in the future. Other than that, long story short it’s still in beta at launch. If you don’t have patience for that, the solution is simple; wait. Expand

Long review: The game itself has ALOT I mean ALOT of technical issues if you're really unlucky. I managed to get it run smoothly. However since this doesn't affect me as much I will not include it in my final score. The story itself feels kinda bland, sometimes I forgot what was even happening. The antagonists are ok. I've seen worse. The only problem is the writing. It's just weird. Now, if you manage to make it run properly you're in for a treat. The gameplay is as good or even better than any other borderlands games, it's parkour mechanic definitely improves the combat by alot. It's bosses are extremely fun and challenging, love some of the attacks. It's guns are just soooo good with so many yet so diverse. However, I feel like guardian rank should have an option to be turned off and on as sometimes it makes the game too easy. The amount of loot also just makes this game have alot of replayability,, trying to get all the legendaries is one hell of a challenge considering the amount of guns you can get. The graphics is pretty good, I mean it's cell shading. How can you mess that up? However there are a few places where the graphics just looks ew but you can easily ignore them. However the map design can sometimes be a little too large which creates some empty areas. The soundtrack is simply amazing, I literally once stood still in a map just to listen to it's BGM. And another thing I should mention, NO MICROTRANSACTIONS!!! (Well, non cosmetics ones anyways)

    Pros:
    -Amazing Gameplay
-Diversity of guns (all guns don't feel the same)
    -NO MICROTRANSACTIONS WOOHOOOO (non cosmetics)
    -Great Replayability
    -Great BGM

    Cons:
    -Weak story/writing and antagonists
-Extreme technical issues (might not apply to some users)
-Guardian rank not being able to be turned off and on which sometimes makes the game super easy
-Some maps are a little too empty

UPDATE: Played on a friend's computer that had the major tech issues and my God is it horrible. If you manage to get the major tech issues it would be a 4/10

I've made this account on metacritic so I can actually review the game and warn anyone who are planning to get the game this early. My laptop is Acer Nitro 15 with 1050ti and it can play Apex Legends lowest settings 1080p without having any problem reaching and maintaining 60 fps. But when I play Borderlands 3, an expected non-demanding game in terms of graphics, I cannot maintain 60 fps on 1080p. So i switched to 900p to try to enjoy the game I paid $60 for, but the frames are the same. This tells me one thing, my laptop is not the problem, it is the optimization that was so bad that certain places cut my 50-60 fps average (both on 1080p and 900p) into half, 30-40 fps. I also encountered the laggy main menu problem. I also found problems with the inventory because sometimes a gun is in a slot but the thumbnail is a grenade. This AAA $60 game launched worst than a FREE Battle Royale game (apex legends). I have submitted a refund request through Epic Refund Policy email, and after 2 days later, I have not received any reply yet. Now I see why Epic won't add reviews feature into their platform, so they can control the narrative and reviews so the games on their platforms look better than they actually are. Expand

The game is very generous with its loot with a seemingly endless number of guns (though my sources say it is in the bazillions) The story is long without dragging - my friends finished in about 32 hours with low amounts of side quests done at about level 35 - finished at about 40 hours in at level 39. The bosses are better than ever and really feel like bosses if that makes sense. Each being unique and filled with and equal amount of both fun and frustrating mechanics as should be the case lol. The characters all feel fleshed out as do the player chsracters with the skill trees all feeling great through story and most feeling sick through too the end game content. With raiding on the way end game is looking to be great in multiplayer but for those hardcore looters what can you do now? Mayhem mode is a new way of learning a challenge - playing wherever you want with random modifiers from reduced damage for certain guns or elements to gaining move speed but losing shield and health regeneration. You can choose to play from normal to mayhem 1 all the way to mayhem three which has four of these mods aswell enemies being more tanky in general - bring varied and big guns for this as you need to be up to any challenge! When I have very clear line of sight and can see my enemy I want to be able to shoot this enemy, but there often seem to be invisible walls / invisible hitboxes from the cover the enemy is hiding behind that stop my bullets, forcing me into a different vantage point to get a shot that actually connects.

I really hope they fix this.

Aside from this I am haviing a great time with the singleplayer. :)
The guns are really fun and after I found out how to adapt the vehicle controls to my preference that's fun too.

ALl the hate this game gets in the reviews here..... no real reason when playing the game.

My guess that we have a horde of immature review bombers here who are either disgruntled because of that pretty dumb EPIC exclusive store release or because of the idiocy K2 has shown on some topics.

Not to mention the gender discussion about the robot. (A robot is considered an IT by the way and "they" is already in use for the plural of individuals. Diverse people should be more creative and pick something that is NOT already so commonly in use.)

Its a Borderlands game, its what I expect a Borderlands game to be and to my surprise it has more.
It runs perfect on my machine from 2015 (MSIGS70) to be expected though from the unreal engine.
All in all I'm happy with it. I got a friend to purchase it with me, hes never played any of the previous titles but he says hes already got his moneys worth and I'd have to agree.

As a former WWF Women's Champion I can tell you a thing or two about combat. The combat in this game is great. Interesting story... interesting characters. I've played for 30 hours now and hte fun just keeps on coming. Split-screen on the original XBOX1 that came out 5 years ago is pretty laggy. Great game.

Save your .SAV files to some other location before overwriting from "the cloud". This rule is the same for both Steam and Epic. The Epic cloud is not magic... it is just as vulnerable to improper use by novices as the Steam client. The game is great. It does have a few technical issues running split screen co op on first generation consoles though.

+ great "borderlands" look and game play (aside from the problems below)
+ new characters seem fun initially.
    - Lack of vertical split screen?? and the horizontal is a disaster - tiny font, lag, ridiculously wide perspective on widescreen tv.
    - It's nearly unplayable with crashing problems, freezes, glitches.

Would not have purchased with horizontal split only.

The game is a Borderlands game and if your a Borderlands fan you'll love it, they made the shooting feel great and the new menus are nice, the game studders a bit but overall with my I77700k 16 gb ram 1060 3gb it runs well above 60 on high, the in game fps counter is way off and you should'nt use borderless window I'm a bit more than halfway through and I'm loving every bit of it only one crash so far if it was between Buy, Wait for Sale or Stay away I'd say if you are a Borderlands fan youb should buy but if your just getting into it wait for a sale. Or play the past Borderlands games.

I have a 15 year old Steam account with over 800 games but I also see that the industry is changing for the better thanks to competition. Developers get 88% of their profits when they sell games on Epic while they only get 70% on Steam - common sense to go with Epic. Steam needs to stop being so greedy and they could easily, EASILY reduce their cut and win these games back but they won't.

As far as the game itself - what an amazing game! As a huge Borderlands fan from the start and having played all of them and all of the DLCs I have to say so far Borderlands 3 is my favorite of the entire series. Moving and shooting have been vastly improved, the multiple planets and Sanctuary 3 are amazing to see and overall the game is a blast especially in coop.

Yes, there are bugs in the game, but I personally haven’t met any serious ones that break the game, and do not forget that the developers moved the game to a new engine! and besides, this is only a release, I'm sure the developers will fix everything over time. Those who write about a bunch of microtransactions, did you even play this game? I did not even find a button where you could buy anything for real money. Why the hell are you writing about this? That being said though, the story is something that really hinders this game. Handsome Jack from the previous entry is such an iconic villain and the pressure of getting a good successor to him must have been one of the most stressful aspect of making the game, however the calypso twins are very bland and surface level characters that really don't see any developments as the story progresses, except doubling down of how annoying they can be. To say that they are bland villains would honestly be an understatement, and with how they play into the narrative, basically only showing up to absolutely and randomly mess with you and have your character play literally no role in the story except being an errand boy for the real main characters. The narrative really started to take a turn for the worse when you get to the "beneath the meridian" mission and really doesn't treat their characters in a fair way, to try and illustrate this without spoiling too much, they try to recreate the emotional tension from Rolands death but skip every development from his character in 2 and introduce a character that really doesn't add to the series. The bordelands series has never really been known for it's revolutionary story telling but given how the characters are treated and the massive focus on new characters it's sad to see how the best aspect of the series falls flat.

    TL:DR
Gameplay is amazing, story is horrible and doesn't do it's predecessor justice. If you are new to borderlands play this first, that's the best way to get the most enjoyment from its 30-50 hour story.

Well that wasn't what I expected.
The game is painfully average. Lazy writing, far less explorable world, and no innovation make it a solid 5. However, the technical implementation make the game barely playable. All of the clickbait drama, and judging purely as a game, it's garbage. It's done absolutely nothing to improve visuals, gunplay, the GODDAMN user interface, or the fact that every new gun you pick up is somehow a little worse. Gearbox has a problem: the fantastic Borderlands 2 is too good to be beaten. But in the case of Borderlands 3, it is still more than a worthy successor. The filmmakers brought many pop-cultural references, maybe pushing too hard on how they want to be “modern”, but otherwise it's a great game again. [Issue#298]

Borderlands 3 offers a generous experience, with colourful characters, neat gameplay and a charming universe. Its formula, very close to that of the previous episodes does not revolutionize the show but its small new features bring a little freshness and the scenario makes us want to go to the end of the adventure. Its dynamism and nervousness make it a choice piece for adrenaline-ready FPS lovers and license fans.
