    It's a worthy continuation of the entire series. I'm going through the game now, the gameplay and plot are good. The technical component is not without flaws but overall not bad. I advise everyone playing the games in the series and beginners.

    I loved BL and BL2, We don't talk about the Pre Sequel, Borderlands 3 is chaotic, explosive and immersive until you get some of the annoying little bugs that have slipped through the net. Bugs like my characters legs being in the final dramatic cut scene and falling through the world after beating a major boss. How ever I really enjoy this game and the franchise all together. There is someI loved BL and BL2, We don't talk about the Pre Sequel, Borderlands 3 is chaotic, explosive and immersive until you get some of the annoying little bugs that have slipped through the net. Bugs like my characters legs being in the final dramatic cut scene and falling through the world after beating a major boss. How ever I really enjoy this game and the franchise all together. There is some optimization issues on PC that desperately need to be sorted.

    It looks beautiful, I think it will age brilliantly as did BL2. The Vault hunters are voiced fully so you are more immersed and form a connection with your character instead of having a silent ass kicker that screams a bit like we did in previous BL titles.

    Co-op is absolute and un-bridled chaos and I love it. Explosions everywhere and destruction following. The enemies feel spongy at times but the gun play more than makes up for you having to put a few more bullets into your enemies.

    The story is large and longer than previous titles took me about 23 hours (I was gunning it with a full group) But it doesn't stop there. Mayhem mode scales everything up to you so you can go and experience those fights again and this also makes any missed side quests worth doing. 23 hours x 4 + TVH mode and the proving grounds, this game is easily worth the £60 Price tag that you can expect to pay.

    The customization feels limitless as you can truly for the first time in Borderlands customize pretty much anything to do with your stuff. Eridium is no longer the upgrade currency but currency you use for cosmetics. I have NOT seen a single micro transaction let a lone anything that would help you beat this game.

    Boss fights are harder than ever especially when you turn that mayhem mode on. There is also more boss fights than ever. Every chapter seems to have a new but more challenging opponent to face. They are also some of the prettiest and highly detailed boss fights I've ever done. How ever some of them do feel very similar to each other so fighting them can set in a bit of fatigue.

    The humor does feel quite dated and forced at some points but it did not fail to make me laugh in most cases.

    That pretty much sums up my current time on Borderlands 3 I've thoroughly enjoyed my first run through the game and quite frankly am looking forward to taking a slower and more methodical run of the game.    … Expand

    Что ждал - то и получил. Интересная сюжетная линия, доработанные мелочи, ну очень много оружия и приправлено все это хорошим графическим оформлением.     Borderlands 3 is one of those games that you want to return to, I don’t understand people who underestimate ratings only because of EGS, my rating is this game 10/10 and I am completely sure of that.

    Great game. Awesome mechanics. New worlds and enemy's. Pretty good camping. I donno why idiots rate bad on this game.Bad optimization? I agree with that. But Gearbox gonna fix that. Exclusive to EGS on PC? WTF what is your problem? Normal people buy games for having fun, not to achievements

    It does feel similar to the old games but with improvements in graphics and gunplay. I would give it a 10 but it does have some optimization problems.

There is more guns, more equipment, more loot. The UI is also much improved for PC. Claptrap is still claptrap. :)

    The only real downer is that there are indeed real performance issues at launch.    If you liked Borderlands 1, 2, the pre-sequel etc. then you will like this. The shooting mechanics of BL3 are better than previous installments. The story has more dialogue and plot points. There is more guns, more equipment, more loot. The UI is also much improved for PC. Claptrap is still claptrap. :)

    The only real downer is that there are indeed real performance issues at launch. Each gun tooltip seems to drop the FPS by half or more, and certain areas / battles absolutely tank the FPS each on top-end PCs at mid-quality settings. It's something that should have been addressed before launch for sure, and hence the 8/10 review score.    … Expand

    To say I am a massive Borderlands fan is an understatement. I have sunk thousands of hours into each title that has come out so far. But I just cant do it with this one. Sure it's more borderlands as they say, which is exactly what I was hoping.. but something's different and its really pissing me off.     To add to it, I have put a lot of time, money and effort into building my PC and yet I am still getting countless stutters, absurd frame rates (and dx12 is a no no), errors and crashes that I should absolutely not be getting

    This game was rushed, there is NO question about it. It feels like an untested alpha. And I would go further and say that all those shady professional reviewers that gave this pile of **** higher than a 7 are full of bull**** and in my opinion were handed a wad of cash

    If you are thinking of getting this game: Do not in its current state. Wait till they fix it, and it needs a lot of fixing. Hell wait to see if they even fix it. They were paid up front by Epic Games and may be on holiday for a long while    … Expand

    Great gameplay, fun humor and lots of guns, if you are a fan of borderlands, this will keep you entertained. I really dont understand the hate, this game is getting.

    I'm having a good time on a GTX 1060 I5 8400 8GB RAM with 40fps - 60fps which is perfect really.

    Great gameplay, wacky as ever.

    Borderlands 3 single player is good and what you expect plus a few improvements. Local co-op split-screen is broken and unplayable however. There is no option for vertical split-screen and fonts are too small in single player as it is and are thus totally unreadable in horizontal split-screen. This is a great game do not listen to review bombers. some people will consider me a "fanboy" but seriously the game runs good on my pc, ive encountered very few bugs in my 20+ hours of play and bugs that i did find were very miniscule and had no effect on gameplay, and the gameplay is a perfect sequel to the previous installments, with all kinds of crazy weapons and builds. only true issues are DirectX12 and the DRM, and anyone who is saying the game is boring or lame obviously did not play very far, because getting into the game you will soon notice that it is a great sequel which improves on most if not all elements of the previous games such ass combat, environment and versatility of the games various landscapes.… Expand

    With that out of the way, I'd like to quickly give my impressions/opinions on some parts of BL3 people seem to really hate this time around:
    The Humor: Everybody's a critic, huh? Its pretty much mostly the same "type" of joke/humor that BL2 had, so if you were idk hoping for some sort of "innovation" or even for them to have "gotten better as to land more higher quality jokes" then yes you will be disappointed. I loved BL2 but lets be honest, not EVERYTHING was a riot, and i think its very translatable to how BL3 works. The reason I liked the humor overall in BL2 and now BL3 is because even if its not funny, just the attempt sort of lightens up the tone for whatever you are doing in juxtaposition to the usually violent and gory reality of what you're doing, and i appreciated that.
    The Guns: Again, they added a ton of new weapon parts and new mechanics to so many weapons, and even made them feel much better in my opinion, but i just don't think everyone was ready for it to still be just randomly slapped together weapons that in the end are just as random as BL2 with some more twists. If you truly liked the past systems for gun creation/dropping, I really can't see a reason why you would hate BL3's system.
    The Optimization: One quick note on this one since it seems to be a hot topic, I *personally* did not get that much bad optimization hitches in my current playtime on a 1070 8gb card at 1440p and i'm not sure why others are getting it. It says clearly "DX12 beta" so i'm not sure why people are judging that when its not ready. Plus, and this is my unpopular opinion, though its kinda **** to release a buggy or badly optimized product (which i don't think BL3 is), I think unless its unplayable for mostly everyone it shouldn't be solely reviewed on that facet as that confuses others who may be able to play it fine and just want to know if its fun.

    So I guess what i'm saying is, its more borderlands with some nice additions to pretty much every main mechanic from before, and I really don't know why anyone would hate this game unless they either 1. expected something crazy or 2. are being super critical for other reasons. but if you like borderlands, and i mean really just the minimum base gameplay of borderlands, then you will find this fun.    … Expand

I'm not a huge fan of the two main villains but they aren't as terrible as I thought. Each planet offers a unique setting in which you can explore and kill, I honestly have no idea what people are talking about when they say "It always feels like you're on pandora", no, no it does not. The game has a lot of love in it from the older games, lots of references and characters to be found.

    Really my only complaint is the co-op, it could have been better, but that's not to say it's terrible. There are a few technical issues here and there such as cutscenes starting before everyone has loaded in, there has been one time where an NPC's audio just cuts off, and personally i'm not a fan that only the host get's to interact with the characters in the main story quests.

    It isn't perfect, I could ramble on more but overall it's a great addition to the borderlands franchise, it gives us more borderlands, what else do you want? Fix the technical issues and we have a truly great game.    … Expand

    This game has heart and is a good continuation to Borderlands 2. BUT it suffers severely to performance issues, bugs, and crashes. This is just another reason why players need a demo or beta of some sort to test the game before it officially comes out to test what needs to be fixed.

    Best co-op game out right now, a lot of fun. The gun-play mechanics are top notch and the story is entertaining. Constantly capped at 144 fps with my gtx1080. Most of the negative reviews aren't legitimate, snowflakes are boycotting the game due to epic launcher drama.

    I can't speak for anyone else, but I like Borderlands 1 and Borderlands 2 and what I wanted from BL3 was an evolution of the experience that those games gave and in that respect Gearbox has delivered in spades.

    Graphics are solid, even playing with only medium-to-high settings on my gaming laptop.
    Audio is phenomenal, you really feel the explosions and gun firing, and the music, as in past Borderlands games, is awesome.
    Story is....well, a typical Borderlands story, which means it's often ridiculous and full of cheese.

    I have found vehicle control and combat to be superior to past iterations of the franchise, with a really tactile and enjoyable feel to it.

    Combat on foot is like all of the past games, with the addition of a lot of new, cooler weapon, shield and grenade effects. Guns feel great later in the game, though it does take some levels to get to that point, as in past games, but all of the new types of equipment effects really make even the early game feel fresh for someone like me who was still playing BL2 until this game released.
    Melee attacks also feel more satisfying then I found them in past iterations of the game.

    The user interface is also more "modern" feeling than BL2 and, at least for me, is less finicky then BL2 (BL2 inventory management remained janky for me even after all patches for the game were released). The addition of a hotkey to mark something as junk or favorite in BL3 especially is something I am most appreciative for.

    Overall, if you enjoyed either Borderlands 1 or 2, you will most definitely also love this game. It's worth the buy...even worth installing the Epic Store to buy it (something i had been avoiding up until now).    … Expand

The game is amazing the story is ok but the characters and customization, gunplay, and variety of guns and items is where the game really shines. Yes an optimization patch is badly needed however I really haven’t experienced any bad frame rate drops and I’m playing on Xbox one x. (It’s nice watching pc players squirm).     The gameplay has not evolved, the game is buggy and the humour is mean spirited. It's a continuation on the decline Borderlands 2 started and not a return to the high of Borderlands 1.

    It's Borderlands, it's fun, better with friends, funny, jokes that make you giggle and feels good to progress and get better gear.

    And a very good thing:
    No microtransactions! (despite what the bombs are trying to say...)

    It's worth it!

    This game is a great continuation of the series. The developers managed to leave the old Borderlands and at the same time create something new. This is what I understand. Great sequel. I don’t understand why people are indignant, but I really hope that such a hard start will pay off in full. The stars must shine

    **** game. **** optimization, **** character development, **** gameplay, guns are a little but fun ,but cant really say that cause i never had the chance to try a gun for more than 10 minutes before the game crashes. 0/10 would recomend to play it now. Think we should wait a couple more months for them to sort their **** out and comeback.

    Lets keep the state of the game itself and the stuff around it seperate and judge the game on its own here:
    its borderlands, if you liked the other games you will love this aswell, so mutch is imporved and the comedy is still on point.
    Its not as well optimised as it could have been with a bit fewer fps then i would have like seeing, but it runs really well and FL4K is really fun to play.

While the story might not be as compelling and some aspects of the game fall flat in comparison to recent titles, i think it's a fun game and successor to the franchise. Try making three masterpieces in a row. Did anybody ever accomplish such a feat? Rating this game a 0 because of a missing vertical splitscreen is just one reason why you should always take user score with a grain of salt. This game obviously is not finished and has a lot of problems, that have to be resolved by gearbox. For that reason i think it's fair to give this game a low score, also to make them aware of these issues. Still, i enjoy Borderlands 3 and once the early issues have been resolved i'd gladly update my rating to an 8.… Expand

    This game doesn't run good enough in my gtx 1080 + 8700k. Extremely poor optimization - but that's not all. The gunplay feels so clunky and bad, it gets boring after a few minutes.     It's a fine new game with good graphics (compared to BL2 at least) runs smooth, constant 60fps 1080p with GTX 1060 on high settings and the core mechanics of the game remain while the pain in the arse mechanics have been improved a lot and at least UI didn't need to turn of any ransomware scans or virus protection, it's not one of those despite what the people are saying.

    "It's the same as borderlands 2" It's completely different. An improvement in every conceivable way. Levels are interesting and pretty, customisation is way more free, even letting you make your own colour pallets instead of picking from premade ones. No ingame microtransactions like BL2 had.

    Climbing and sliding feel great, the new gunplay is excellent, a lot more depth than just point and shoot like in BL2. Different guns feel actually different, too.

    New vehicles are really cool. The handling feels strange at first but you get used to it quickly. The vehicles are heavily customisation too this time around.

    The visuals are massively improved from 2. I'm playing on Low and it's a far cry from BL2 on Ultra.

    Humor is more of the same, just not about things from 7 years ago.

    Some reviews are calling it SJW, some are calling it offensive, make up your minds lmao. I haven't noticed anything overly leaning towards either, aside from one admittedly funny one partway through the game.

    There's more new unique and legendary guns than you can shake a stick at, all with cool and different effects. Like a rocket launcher that shoots burgers, or an SMG that uses money as ammunition, or a Nerf gun.

    There's also no substance to any claims of malicious keyloggers or spyware. Do some research for yourself instead of parroting stuff one loser said online.

    I'm having a really good time with this game. It's such an improvement on BL2. I can definitely see myself putting lots of time into it in the future. I'd advise people to try it for themselves rather than listen to the plethora of screeching losers review bombing it because "Epic Bad"    … Expand

    5. The missions are boring. Yes they are legit boring with many of the quest giving characters acting similar to each other and the objectives being similar. 6. Behaviour of developer and publisher alike has been very anti consumer. They recently went on a banning spree towards players who "misgendered" FL4K as a "he" or "him". Yes you heard correctly. For some reason these people hate references to the male gender and their idealogy seeped through into the game. Game needed more QA and less identity politics with bad ŠJW cringy writing.     The game is redundant. Take Borderlands 2. Add a few graphics updates. Add bugs. Mix in a bit of drama ($10 off... no just kidding) (Play this on Steam! No, just kidding). Finish that off with a retread humor, and you have Borderlands 3!

I got 8700k and RTX 2080, and i drop below 60 fos no matter the graphic settings due to the game apparently only runs on 2 cpu cores where i can't get the game to use more than max 40% cpu or 30-35% average with gpu usage at 50-60%, 40% when the fps tanks during combat at 55 fps.

    So no, this game at launch is just a broken mess.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm seeing a massive amount of negative scores that go a bit too hard on the game for whats being said, so here is my take on BL3.

    Its mediocre.

    The game has the same sort of charm BL2 had, but its biggest failure is its story and boss design. You hear the Calypsos try their best to taunt you like Jack did, however the threats are mostly meaningless because you tear through them like butter, and its get annoying after a while.

    The guns are not as varied as they were in BL2. Some guns act the exact same as others for a large amount of the randomly generated pool of weapons you can acquire, with a few exceptions. Most of the elements doesn't do enough damage to justify using them, as a good Jakobs pistol can shred through most enemies like paper.

    The boss designs are just re-skinned, bigger versions of enemies you thought up until reaching the boss, with some big AoE moves, not to mention the only challenge of these bosses is not having enough ammo to destroy the mountain sized health bars they have. Some bosses are also not scaled to the level they are placed in, such as Killavolt, who is notorious for killing many players with his squad killing moves filling the entire arena with no hope of avoiding it.

    Performance wise the game is very buggy, with many frame rate drops. PC performance from what I've heard is abysmal (I'm currently playing Xbox because I'm not supporting the EGS).

    The overall experience is just dull and fails to deliver something that was hyped up and promised by Gearbox, only to fall flat on its face and provide a game that only adds to the Borderlands franchise, but nothing else.

    A mediocre game after waiting 6 years. I am disappointed in how this game turned out.

    The game is very nice been playing it for 5 hours now and i can say at least the gameplay its the best in the saga so far the guns feel very nice and skills too everything is very fluid, but the performance is really really poor i run the game with 40-45 fps in ultra 4k with a 2080ti and i7 9700k and for a game with this visual this is unacceptable.

    This truly is one of the better games i have experienced this year however lacks the same punch in storyline that previous editions in the series had.

    To start, at its core this is inherently a borderlands sequel and should be praised for how true to the series it feels, gameplay feels smooth, fast paced and rewarding.     To start, at its core this is inherently a borderlands sequel and should be praised for how true to the series it feels, gameplay feels smooth, fast paced and rewarding. The gameplay loop is identical to how previous editions are, grinding mobs for levels to build an ever growing machine of a character, looping maps to find chests, bosses, rare mob spawns, and of course grinding for legendary guns. If you like me, enjoyed this grind of the previous titles, you will pick this game up and immediately feel right at home.

    The visuals are stunning, albeit not optimised in the slightest at launch, having to turn down some settings such as material complexity in order to get consistant frame rates. Frame drops can take you out of enjoyment of the game as the performance with some of the settings turned up can be completely immersion breaking, some fights can drop the frame rate from 80 - 50, which on a 144hz panel is something you definitely notice.

    However, that being said after altering some settings, the game looks the part and the game runs perfectly smooth for me, particle effects light up the battlefield, arms, blood, legs and heads fly around as an instant reward for targeting that body part, the lighting is so good, dark areas feel dark, light areas make your eyes adjust, textures are super sharp and crisp and the colour palette has seen a massive upgrade.

    Sound stage is also fantastic, gun sounds feel punchy and bassy, explosions distort the sound arounds you, shotguns sound powerful and pistols pop, i couldnt believe how good the sound effects where after i first stepped into the game, hearing the first car back fire after stepping on the accelerator was a small detail i greatly appreciated

    The story line and characters are mediocre at best, the story writing and the jokes just do not seem fitting for the series, comparing Handsome Jack with the Calypso Twins, they just appear empty, uninteresting and provide no sort of connection with the player. The humour has also taken a step back in this game, however there was a few moments that i had a chuckle to myself, mainly hearing Zane respond to people and the world around him, playing an angry scottish man is always going to be funny.

    That being said, i have never played borderlands primarily for the story, i play to become a god that can rain hell of hundreds of mobs with interesting and unique guns, spending hours to obtain rare legendaries, and playing with different class builds, the story was always just an added bonus to help guide me to the end game where i play it my own way, and take on whichever boss i want at any given time, and for that reason I highly recommened Borderlands 3, it has nailed absolutely everything i was looking for in the next chapter of the series.    … Expand

Have only had one boss glitch out, but I reloaded the zone and he was still dead with his loot where it should be. The QoL improvements that they have done over BL2 really makes this game feel about ten times better.

    Better shooting, great skill trees, awesome graphics (that will hold up longer then any cod game) funny dialogue.
    Gtx 1060 with a i7 8700k and I get a smooth 60fps with no crashes whatsoever. I have well over 1500hrs on BL2 and    I don't know why people are saying this game is exactly like the other BL games like its a bad thing. That's what we borderlands fans wanted! More Bl2 but better!

    This game is a wonderful game.... aside from some optimization issues, which I’m sure will be fixed with updates. The story (so far) is intriguing, the bosses are very bullet spongy which I don’t like. Ignore most of the 0 reviews. If you are a borderlands fan then this game is an excellent successor.     Too buggy and laggy. Way too much frustration to play it in this state. If you, like me, want more Borderlands 2 with new missions and guns - you can have your share of fun with Borderlands 3. But I still highly recommend to wait a few months till major issues will be fixed so you can really enjoy this game.

    It has been 6 years since the last Borderlands but i hope that does not mean they've been working on this for 6 years. Same feel to the game. Same map youve seen 1000 times. Same enemies who are just bullet sponges and every character has to wise guy and make some terrible cringe joke. its just really hard to take this gamer serious. it feels so    its just okay.

    Gearbox has a problem: the fantastic Borderlands 2 is too good to be beaten. But in the case of Borderlands 3, it is still more than a worthy successor. The filmmakers brought many pop-cultural references, maybe pushing too hard on how they want to be “modern”, but otherwise it's a great game again. [Issue#298]

    Borderlands 3 offers a generous experience, with colourful characters, neat gameplay and a charming universe. Its formula, very close to that of the previous episodes does not revolutionize the show but its small new features bring a little freshness and the scenario makes us want to go to the end of the adventure. Its dynamism and nervousness make it a choice piece for adrenaline-ready FPS lovers and license fans.
