ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies is a triumphant spy thriller that may be slow to start, but ramps up into an unforgettable espionage adventure by the time the credits roll.

Every once in a while there’s a game where I put off completing my review because I'm busy trying to grab the Platinum trophy. The Adventures of Elliot is one of those games. I found entire evenings and weekends disappearing, and even when repetition threatened to set in, I found new ways to shake up the game. Look past the odd pacing foible and this is an excellent action adventure to sink into.

Crushed In Time is a delightful new style of point & click adventure, making the whole world elastic and taking you, Holmes and Watson on a journey through the travails of game development. There's definitely a game in Draw Me A Pixel's second title, but they'll need your help to finish it.

Subversive Memories is yet another excellent indie survival horror game – further confirming the genre’s golden age. While the mechanics and feel are highly familiar, the real life inspiration takes these influences and elevates them to a vital and necessary take on a country’s generational trauma.

Realm of Ink is a very good roguelite that plays well and uses East Asian mythology as a great basis to tell its story. Being able to create some really powerful builds and demolish enemies, but it can also be considered a rather easy experience despite higher difficulty settings.

007 First Light is an incredibly well-executed action adventure blockbuster with a truly engrossing story, slick presentation, and layered gameplay systems. It marks a major evolution for IO Interactive, thrusting the studio into that coveted top tier of video game developers. It also has us excited for the team's future projects, whether that's more Bond or a return to Hitman at some point down the road.

The 2025 Season Pack makes some crucial changes and improvements to F1 25 that feel authentic to the new regulations while also giving the moment-to-moment gameplay a real lift. It’s also great to have the MADRING make its inaugural appearance, and to have Bottas’ tache back in the paddock, but the loss of co-op career and ranked multiplayer is a nasty bit of damage to take on the way. It’ll see us through to next year, at least.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth makes the transition to Switch 2 in great form. It generally looks excellent, the sound is spectacular and the world is as large and expansive as it ever was. There are cutbacks over the PS5 version, and whether you can live with them will be a personal choice, particularly with the shift to 30fps and the reduced level of detail, but if you want a massive, portable Final Fantasy adventure, Rebirth is ideal.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an incredible celebration of the Caped Crusader, and if you've encountered any of his adventures across comics, film or gaming, you'll find joy in every reference and aside.

The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time is a fabulous addition to the meta-game genre. I went in as a fan of old-school 16-bit JRPGs expecting a hit of nostalgia, but came away thoroughly impressed by the inception-like degree of layers within layers I unravelled in completing the game. It goes beyond the titular game to explore what makes developers tick, and challenging you to think outside the box for its puzzle, and if the sound of that appeals, then you should definitely give The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time a go. This is destined to be a classic and perhaps one day someone will remake it too…

Quartet is a superb JRPG that takes the best of its influences and adds a welcome suite of quality-of-life improvements, from a built-in turbo mode to the removal of random battles. The story builds up well, the characters are engaging, and the regular drip of weapons and abilities keeps things interesting throughout. Quartet is an easy recommendation for JRPG fans in general and would also make for a good introduction to the genre for newcomers.

Forza Horizon 6 is another excellent entry in an excellent series, from an excellent developer. Part of me wants more than that, but I've no idea how that would work.

Vultures: Scavengers of Death masterfully brings together the survival horror and turn-based action genres, losing none of the foreboding feeling while dialling up the tension significantly. A handful of bugs do little to detract from the experience, so Vultures remains a triumph. A bloodied, tense, and foreboding one, but a triumph nonetheless.

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes does a great job of wrapping the 2004 TV series aesthetic around a tense and fraught roguelite battle for survival.

Directive 8020 is by far the best Dark Pictures game, embracing more stealth gameplay, making the branching story feel seamless, and setting a new bar for the genre.

Dark Pals: The 1st Floor is a hugely enjoyable dose of mascot horror that takes the conventions and mixes them up to offer up a well paced and action-packed hour and a half of gameplay. Forget your Gartens and your Poppy Playtimes, Dark Pals promises to be the future of this subgenre and I’m all in.

Everything Is Crab is one of those games where you really get the whole game in the first run. If you like that first attempt, and the general vibe you're getting, then you're going to enjoy run after run. However, if you're hoping for more than what that first play session offers, you're going to find the game to be a little bit lacking. Still, it's a lot of fun if you're looking for a more pure arcade experience in your roguelike, and if you like seeing the horrifying monster your little blue blob can become once you've eaten half of a planet.

Mixtape is incredible. An indie narrative adventure that’s part game, part movie, part album, it captures the end of teenage life, of friendship and family, all while looking to the possibilities and unknowable potential of the future. It is, in a word, essential.

TerraTech Legion is an excellent entry into the world of Survivors-likes, and I'm so happy that it's actually adding something new to the genre, instead of just rehashing what we've already seen. Combat and driving feel good, building feels fantastic, and there's plenty of reasons to just keep mucking around with it, even if you do manage to complete all of the missions. It's just a joy, and one you shouldn't miss out on.

Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is a lovely game. There are some fun quests to undertake in locations that have been designed well, with the added bonus of cutting paths through the snow.

Ground Zero stands out as one of the most polished and complete indie survival horror experiences in recent years. While clearly heavily inspired by Resident Evil, it feels like a lost game in the series rather than a copycat and the mix of combat and puzzles keep things fresh throughout. Throw in the generous extra modes and the unlockables mixing up subsequent playthroughs and you have a game that offers dozens of hours of quality survival horror for a bargain price.

Saros builds on the excellence of Returnal, furthering Housemarque's blend of third-person action, bullet hell and roguelite with a more broadly told and ambitious story, a subtly more accessible path for newcomers, and still plenty of challenge for those that crave it. Echoing the game's tagline, Housemarque has come back stronger.

Mini Tank Mayhem is an interesting game because of how it combines a lot of familiar things, rather than doing any specific thing that's groundbreaking. It means it's really easy to pick up and play as long as you're familiar with any deck-building and any tower defence game, and having knowledge of both can really help. It's a lot of fun to play and well worth checking out.

There's a satisfying strategy to Minos, as you lay out your maze, set your traps, and lie in wait for foolhardy adventuring parties. It's not as endlessly compelling as the best roguelikes, but you can easily lose hours within the labyrinth.

Oozing with style and buoyed by Bungie’s consistently slick gunplay, Marathon has already carved out a small fiefdom in the fickle world of extraction shooters. Unforgiving but rarely unfair, that risk/reward gameplay loop will prove endlessly enjoyable to some, though casual FPS fans who want to see guaranteed progression in exchange for the time they put in will find themselves well out of their comfort zone. Marathon’s staying power hinges entirely on post-launch support and the allure of new content. If the maze-like, puzzle-filled Cryo Archive is anything to go by, we could see Bungie rolling out a creative gauntlet of new gameplay experiences.

Mouse: P.I. for Hire is a good game, it plays well with an engaging story brought to life by the excellent Troy Baker. However, tonally it is all over the shop and the detective part of the game is perfunctory at best, but it gets away with it thanks to the joyous visuals and music.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a weird game. I could leave my summary there and it would be entirely accurate, but more than that, Living the Dream is YOUR weird. You can have an island of celebrity-alikes hurling expletives at each other, or an island of your friends and family interacting in increasingly bizarre ways, and that’s precisely the point. There’s a degree of weird that’s baked into the game but, from there, what you get out of it is what you put into it.

Dosa Divas is a culinary adventure worth going on, its unique flavour combining solid turn-based combat, a simple cooking minigame, and a story that will make you reflect on your own relationships. It's a game that explores how food and meals can be experiences that bring people together. If nothing else, Dosa Divas may inspire you to get in the kitchen, put some dishes together and share those meals with others.

Pragmata is another stunning game from Capcom. The game world is beautifully conceived and the interplay between our lead characters genuinely heartwarming, but it's the combat with its dynamic blend of shooting and hacking that is the main draw here and it makes other third person games feel pedestrian by comparison.

The Occultist is a great investigate horror game featuring a compelling narrative and well designed puzzles. With some excellent writing and voice acting, I was hooked in to play through its modest runtime in two sittings. With a debut game like this, I’m excited to see what will come next from Daloar.

Homura Hime is a blast, and it's the perfect love letter to the character action genre. In a world where these kinds of experiences are few and far between from big developers, it's so good to see an indie studio have a debut as strong as this.

Darwin's Paradox! is a lot of fun, the octopus and aliens theme is suitably absurd and comes with plenty of useful abilities that make the experience consistently unique and inventive. It is a short experience, which you should take into consideration, but it's one that's certainly worth playing.

Project Songbird is one of the most interesting and well designed indie horror games of the year so far and shows the sheer range of the genre. Unlike the bombastic Resident Evil Requiem, Project Songbird is not afraid to be more contemplative and intimate in its portrayal of horror and trauma, the narrative carrying you through its puzzles and moments of real peril. Highly recommended for fans of horror and also anybody who appreciates game-making as an artform with a message to convey.

The Switch 2’s fighting game line-up is all the better for having Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O World Stage in it. In my humble opinion, this remains one of the best fighting games of all time, and the Switch 2 version looks and feels exactly as you’d hope, letting you take your one-on-one brawling on the go.

The Switch 2 gains yet another great title for its library with Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Ember Labs hit remains one of the most likeable 3D action-adventure games of the last few years, and its approachable gameplay and stunning visual design feel utterly at home on a Nintendo console.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is a great upgrade to the original game if you’re going to take advantage of the multiplayer modes, but it is far less essential if you’re mostly a solo player. There are some nice additions for the main campaign, but the £17 price point feels excessive without party play. Taken as a complete package, however, this makes the already fantastic game even more wonderful and addresses most of the issues that we had with it.

The Warlock is a welcome addition to Diablo 2 that manages to fit in quite well, outside of the fast that it's just a bit too powerful compared to the other classes. Outside of that, the new items, new revamped boss and endgame content, and some crucial quality of life features are great as well, but they're only going to be great enough for the price if you're really into Diablo 2. But who isn't, really?

To summit up, Laysara: Summit Kingdom is a great little town builder. Set in a pretty unique location and providing plenty of satisfying management without the constant threat of invasion by a horde of enemies, it's incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. At least, until you underestimate the power of an avalanche and bury half your workers in snow. If you're at all interested in a builder like this set on a mountain, I'd be surprised if you didn't enjoy Laysara, even if you usually prefer something more challenging.

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is probably the best of the series so far, with an atmosphere and narrative that will hook you in and leave you feeling incredibly immersed. There is a great deal of depth to the camera-based combat and exploring the village is a wonderfully atmospheric experience. I could have done without the stalker enemies and the game throws a vast amount of lore and optional side stories at you at times, but the core game deserves to push the series into wider appreciation.

Love Eternal is an experience that lingers, with a story that can be interpreted in many ways depending on your own views. It's both unnerving and tough, which will appeal to those who enjoy the challenge of precision platformers, but it may prove frustrating to those with slower reactions than the game demands.

Under the Island is the perfect fit for gamers who long for the older days of dungeon exploration focused Zelda titles and is one of the most polished and enjoyable retro throwbacks you’ll find. The charming story and characters, and the high quality of the level design help this to really shine.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is the best entry in the spin-off series yet, with gorgeous artwork, impeccable world-building, and an excellent Monster Hunter tale to tell. I can’t imagine a better gateway to the world of Monster Hunter than this.

A gorgeous cinematic puzzling adventure, Planet of Lana 2 features perfectly pitched puzzles, a moving narrative, charming characters and stunning visuals that will live long in your memory after finishing it.

Esoteric Ebb is an achievement in video game storytelling, and one of the most endearing, hilarious and immersive roleplaying experiences I've ever had in the medium. It's absolutely a must-play, and carves out an astonishing identity for itself beyond the D&D and Disco Elysium inspirations that drive it.

Whilst Mimimi Games might be sadly gone, real-time tactics lovers shouldn’t fear as Artificer Games are here to continue their legacy. Not only a brilliant console conversion, Sumerian Six is a thrillingly inventive real-time strategy game in its own right, one that encapsulates much of what made Shadow Tactics, Desperados 3, and Shadow Gambit so great, though this time with the added fun of mauling Nazis.

Pokémon Pokopia is almost exactly as cosy as we hoped. It's more active and goal-oriented than Animal Crossing, but there's still a laid-back, charming atmosphere to rebuilding the world and making it a new home for yourself and all the other Pokémon left behind.

Resident Evil Requiem is a superb entry in the series and feels like a ‘best of’ at times with the persistent Easter eggs, references, and gameplay callbacks to the full range of earlier games. There is a vast amount of wider lore for fans of that part of Capcom’s legendary titles, but even newcomers will be caught up in the narrative and balls to the wall gameplay. RE Requiem is up there with the very best of the series.

Crisol: Theater of Idols is a unique take on survival horror that has swiftly became one of my favourite games in a long while. It takes classics like Resident Evil 4 and Bioshock and fuses them into a brand new nightmare. The twisting narrative, the mix of gameplay mechanics, and the sheer visceral thrill of the game once it gets its claws into you all combine to make this perhaps my happiest gaming surprise in years. If this glowing review wasn’t enough to convince you, it’s even priced incredibly competitively and puts many far more expensive titles to shame. Crisol truly deserves to become more than just a cult classic and will be in the conversation for horror game of the year, even with some obvious competition on the horizon.

Reanimal is bold and uncompromising evolution of Tarsier’s signature style, darker, stranger, and far less forgiving than anything that came before. I was repulsed, I was unsettled, and I loved it.

Citadelum is a great city builder, and it absolutely sings on Switch 2 thanks to the console’s mouse controls. After this, console city builders will never be the same again.

Mario Tennis Fever is another highly polished and enjoyable entry in the series that is well worth picking up for fans and newcomers. I’m not sure it renders its Switch predecessor Aces completely redundant, given the Switch 2's backward compatibility, but anyone who is after a new approach will find much to enjoy here. Assuming that the netcode is solid post-launch, then you should have a lot of fun with Mario and his friends.

I absolutely adore Nioh 3. It's one of the best Soulslikes I've played in ages, quite possibly since Elden Ring itself, and while it's not as large (thankfully), the way it breaks everything down and gives you endless flexibility means that it's just fun to play. There are layers upon layers of systems to master and learn about, but the fact that this game is a blast to play never goes away. Do not miss out on this.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is a very, very impressive remake. 26 years after its original release, this modernised edition of the game is everything I want from an RPG, and I can imagine it landing very well with people who grew up partying with Kiefer and Maribel. It’s held back from a perfect score by only the smallest of gripes around pacing.

Cairn is a unique, slow, and surprisingly relaxing game where you occasionally lose your grip and fall to your death. There's a heartfelt story running through the ascent to the top of the mountain, survival elements as you manage limited resources, and accurate feeling climbing, but soaking in the gorgeous environments, making discoveries and mastering the climbing are a joy. Cairn is a unique game that stands out from all the rest.

On a platform that's fundamentally starved of more serious racers, GRID Legends is a great addition to the Switch 2's library. It absolutely deserves reassessment in 2026, and within this new context, with a drama-filled storyline and blockbuster presentation, it feels more of-the-moment than ever before.

Code Vein II is a haunting, thrilling, and unforgettable action adventure. It's so much more than the sum of its parts or the games that have clearly inspired it. It has a personality of its own that shoots beyond the soulslike genre tag, and never compromises on that unique vision.

It’s amazing to drop back into Cult of the Lamb with the Woolhaven DLC, and the harsh new reality it imposes on your cult. I just wish it came a few years sooner, so I hadn’t forgotten everything from my last run in 2022! If you’re new to the game, this won’t be a problem, but if you’re old hat, it may be better to start New Game+ and get back to speed, rather than jumping in late, low on resources and struggling more than you need to through your first few winters.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon isn't the most gripping narrative, in part due to how much it relies on knowledge of so many other games to fully understand. What it does do right, though, is that it's an incredibly fun and addictive JRPG experience that I couldn't get enough of.

A welcome and massively enjoyable return to Pandora, From The Ashes is an ideal accompaniment to Avatar: Fire and Ash, and one which should further cement the series in sci-fi fans’ hearts.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade arrives in stunning form, with very few compromises made bringing it across to Nintendo’s newest hardware. It’s an essential purchase for RPG fans who haven’t had the chance to play this reimagined saga.

MIO: Memories In Orbit is an early contender for one of the most memorable games of 2026. It is an incredibly challenging game to play, with combat being a highlight, even if some platforming section can be frustrating. It looks fantastic, though, and the story is well told. MIO: Memories In Orbit draws you in, and does not let go easily. It is hard game but the journey is worth experiencing.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a serious return to form for the series after the wayward Dynasty Warriors 9, and it's thoroughly enjoyable on Nintendo Switch 2. This version of the game retains all of the key gameplay elements that made it such a triumph, and while the 30fps locked frame rate may disappoint some diehard fanatics, this is an excellent port of one of 2025’s best games.

Unlike anything you’ve ever played before, Popucom is the inventive family fun the Switch was made for. With a unique charm and smart accessibility choices that mean everyone can join in, this third-person puzzle ‘em up is going to keep our family occupied for some time to come.

Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- is an incredible non-linear roleplaying experience, and the ultimate game to lose yourself in. The lack of direction and open-ended storytelling can be overwhelming at first, but if you dive into it and take your time with it you'll end up crafting an incredible adventure that's all yours.

Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road is a sports drama, a JRPG, a town builder, an Ultimate Team-like, and even (occasionally) a football game. It’s also brilliant, charming, and thoroughly good-natured, and a fantastic game to head into 2026 with.

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is a thoroughly enjoyable crossover sequel that takes the dungeon crawling of Demeo and wraps it in the warm blanket of Dungeons & Dragons themes, tropes and light RPG storytelling. There's a few nagging annoyances with the controls and only minimal hero customisation, but there's a cosiness to playing with friends and "accidentally" catching them in the blast radius of an explosive barrel.

If you’re a fan of old-school 2D gaming, but you hanker to see what a truly modern take on it would be, look no further than Neon Inferno.

Aaero2 is a sci-fi slice of synaesthesia, mixing music, pattern recognition and blasting into an enveloping high-score-chasing experience.

Routine is one of the best linear narrative experiences I’ve played this year and is well worth the lengthy wait for release. The atmosphere and aesthetics combine to create a game that oscillates between unnerving and genuinely terrifying whilst the surreal and philosophical storyline will hook you all the way to the game’s conclusion. I’m looking forward to a host of video essays dissecting the narrative in the near future.

A classic 90's film turned in a classic 90's side scrolling shooter, with a few lashings of modern techniques, what's not to love?

Skate Story is a perfect indie game, beautiful, off-kilter and unreal, with an absolutely killer soundtrack. Sam Eng can forget about eating the moon; he’s achieved something incredible down here on Earth.

Octopath 0 maintains the series’ gorgeous pixel-art aesthetic, while its adapted and evolved take on Champions of the Continent’s gameplay ensures that it feels like a worthy console release.

Metroid Prime 4 is a great return and new beginning for a series which has spent far too many years away. It's not the strongest in terms of narrative, but the new psychic powers add a refreshing layer alongside familiar abilities and the general feel and tone that makes this series so beloved.

Duskpunk is an easy to grasp dice-based RPG with a good story to carry you along. It does make your character, who starts off with nothing, into someone that's far too important for too many factions very quickly, which undercuts the simple struggle to survive, but this does provide for some good story beats. If you enjoyed Citizen Sleeper, then you will probably enjoy Duskpunk.

Cross Blitz is a beautifully made deck builder that feels not only incredibly inventive, but also mechanically dense, and just very satisfying to sink into. On top of that, the looks are exceptionally charming, the music is good, and the vibes are just on point. If you love a good deckbuilder, then you’ll love this, but the campaign modes also mean that this could be the one that grabs you if you’ve only ever bounced off of others due to the roguelike focus.

GigaSword is a monumental achievement, proving that a one-person studio, with the support of a passionate fanbase, can deliver one of the best metroidvanias of 2025.

Lynked: Banner of the Spark is a hot chocolate of a game. Sweet, sumptuous and oh, so cosy. It offers an intriguing and fresh experience thanks to combining roguelite dungeon crawling with town-building, and it keeps you engaged from beginning to end. It's just a shame that, on PS5 at least, it’s a resolutely single-player experience rather than the multiplayer one that it’s intended to be.

Xenopurge is an auto-battler that is well worth picking up and playing. It captures the tense feeling of trying to keep a squad alive as they carry out their mission, while the odds get increasingly worse the longer they are exposed. If you love the vibe of the Alien franchise, and want to try and command squads on runs to fight back against an alien threat, then Xenopurge should be on your list.

Tomb Raider Definitive Edition may offer returning fans a nostalgic run through one of Lara Croft’s best adventures, but in 2025 it’s still a remarkably solid experience, especially on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Monsters Are Coming! Rock and Road is a fun riff on various run-based subgenres, building itself upon the foundations of roguelite, bullet heaven and tower defence, slapping some wheels on the corners and seeing how far it can go.

Umami is a very well crafted puzzle game that lets you take things at your own pace. Each of the puzzles is very well put together and look great, while the levels themselves provide a relaxing atmosphere. A couple of minor issues with the puzzle pieces do not totally detract from a game that lets you just sit and enjoy yourself.

Anno 117: Pax Romana is an incredibly rich historical strategy game that adapts to whatever the player needs it to be. Whether that’s a cosy city-builder offering boundless customisation, a deep economy management sim, or a competitive RTS, Ubisoft Mainz ticks all the boxes with flair.

You can't go wrong with the Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack. It's the best way to experience an already incredible trilogy of heartwarming JRPGs.

Reach won't win any awards for plot or graphics, but that's not the point. You've played this style of game before, but you've never played it like this in VR, bounding from ledge to zipwire, leaping over chasms and playing insinctively rather than cautiously. Reach raises the bar for VR gaming, and it's a great reason to dust off your headset.

Lumines Arise is the culmination of Mizuguchi’s works, returning to his original creation and perfecting it. For fans of puzzle games, fans of Tetris Effect, or, indeed, fans of pure and evocative gaming experiences, this is essential.

Tales of Xillia Remastered is a wonderful showcase for why the Tales franchise has thrived for the past three decades. It's packed full of charm, strung together with incredible battles, and has me so excited for whichever entry in the series gets remastered next.

This is a playful and enjoyable piece of Legend of Zelda lore, and one that will be essential for fans of the series, but it doesn’t break the same ground as Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, or even Age of Calamity.

Europa Universalis V marks the start of a bright new age for Paradox's Grand Strategy series, rebuilding the core, while retaining so much of the breadth, detail and regionality. There's some slight rough edges, which aren't surprising for a game of this scale, and room for expansion to better explore certain ideas and regions, but isn't there always?

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake elevates some of the most iconic and inspiring games in JRPG history into modern unforgettable adventures that are just as rich and rewarding as any other entry in the long-running Dragon Quest franchise.

Escape Simulator 2 is a great sequel and an easy recommendation for puzzle game and escape room aficionados. There's some rough edges, but the environments are great, the puzzles satisfying, it's fun to share with others, and there's bags of potential for DLC and fan creations.

Two Point Museum on Switch 2 is a fairly straightforward port to Nintendo's latest console. The minor glitches and crashes should be ironed out quickly, but it's clear that the game simulation does hit the limits of the Switch 2's CPU and larger museums do drop the frame rate. Still, it remains a thoroughly enjoyable and endlessly quirky management sim that's an easy recommendation for fans of the genre and this series in particular. If you can't accept a few compromises, the other platforms are ready and waiting.

Once Upon a Jester is surprising game for me and I do recommend it, especially if you are looking for something comedic and that is only a few hours long. It might be over rather quickly, but will stay with you for quite a while.

Slots & Daggers is a very entertaining and fun game that thrives on the one more turn aspect, while also making you think tactically. The story's not the point here, and power up pricing feels a bit hard, but those weaknesses are easy to overly when the gameplay is this satisfying.

Yooka-Replaylee isn’t just the definitive version of the game; it’s one of the most enjoyable 3D platformers this side of Nintendo first party titles or Astro Bot. The levels are now packed with things to do, the range of different challenges keeps things interesting, and the upgrades and equippable tonics enable you to customise the difficult to suit your playstyle. All in all, this is now an essential purchase for fans of 3D platformers.

Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch offers up compelling tactics and enjoyable storytelling, while the Roguelike elements work startlingly well. If you’re a fan of the genre, this is one of the year’s essential entries.

The Beast is the Dying Light sequel I always wanted. It's dark, literally and tonally, focuses on zombies instead of warring human factions, and expands on some of the more outlandish and interesting ideas hinted at in the original. If this is indicative of what to expect in the franchise going forward, and it certainly looks that way, then I am excited.

NASCAR 25 has proven to be a very welcome surprise, giving you a rendition of the sport that absolutely shines on track. Some of the supporting elements could do with a tune-up, but if you’re looking for heart-pounding racing action, NASCAR 25 delivers.

If Jackbox Party Pack 11 is anything to go by, then the second decade of Jackbox is going to be great. There's a familiar feel to the pack as a whole, but it's really well put together and there's a great injection of noisy new ideas.
