Jun 5, 2026Honestly, Vultures – Scavengers of Death feels like a survival horror game made just for me. I love the mixture of tactics and retro style, and find the game offers a robust challenge without feeling completely overwhelming. Yes, the tactics can diminish the terror, but it’s never totally gone. If you’re at all a fan of the genre, I’d definitely check Vultures out.

May 13, 2026Vultures: Scavengers of Death masterfully brings together the survival horror and turn-based action genres, losing none of the foreboding feeling while dialling up the tension significantly. A handful of bugs do little to detract from the experience, so Vultures remains a triumph. A bloodied, tense, and foreboding one, but a triumph nonetheless.

May 14, 2026Vultures – Scavengers of Death is a great time for lovers of either Tactics games or Survival Horror. If you’re a sucker for both like me, you’ve found a new obsession and a new team to keep a careful eye on.

May 14, 2026Vultures - Scavengers of Death is a throwback, a game that’s does not shy from telling players that both its universe and its gameplay are inspired by Resident Evil. The shift to a turn-based combat system adds to the complexity, while limited ammo and health create a solid challenge level. The narrative and world-building are forgettable. The presentation plays on nostalgia, but the PlayStation 1 era graphics made it harder for me to enjoy combat. Vultures - Scavengers of Death will deliver great fun for a very specific audience and will struggle to appeal to a wider set of players.
-
May 18, 2026Vultures takes the old-school survival horror format and combines it with tactical turn-based action. The mix works well, despite a few minor issues, and produces some enjoyably stressful moments.

May 12, 2026Vultures – Scavengers of Death proves that strategy and horror can coexist and even thrive when paired together. The uncertainty derived from hit percentages and fog of war complements the tense exploration and foreboding atmosphere of the carefully crafted horror locations. I’d love to give a firm recommendation to survival horror fans and turn-based strategy veterans alike, but only under the condition that you wait for the technical issues to be ironed out. There is a real diamond in the rough here, but only if you wait for the cleanup crew to wipe away the blood and viscera first.

Jun 2, 2026Vultures: Scavengers of Death offers a refreshingly original take on the survival-horror genre, particularly among games seeking to emulate the Resident Evil formula. Its implementation of an XCOM-inspired turn-based combat system provides a unique twist that works surprisingly well, delivering enjoyable gameplay while preserving the genre's core focus on exploration and light puzzle-solving. However, the overly cautious and simplistic use of these mechanics ultimately makes the game feel more like a promising tech demo than a fully fledged realization of turn-based survival horror.
