In Asterix & Obelix Slap Them All 2 the asset reuse rhymes with a missed occasion. As the drawn graphic and the original plot tries to do something new for its genre, the game falls again into a massive reuse of what done in 2021. It’s still a fun game and it can be a good solution to share some good evenings playing together with a friend, but only the most irreducible fans will accept to buy it.

It really is a pity that Chase: Cold Case Investigations didn't have the budget needed to make it stand out, or, at least, to make it as good as Cing's two DS adventures. Instead, what we have here is a very short and simple game, whose gameplay, number of locations and variety are somewhat too limited to make it worthwhile.

Midnight Murder Club feels like one of those games that had the right idea but the wrong execution. The concept of using darkness as a gameplay mechanic is intriguing, but it’s as if the developers turned on the flashlight, showed a glimpse of its potential, and then immediately switched it off again, leaving us wandering through a huge, empty mansion.

The new adventures of Bub and Bob has many problems. Although it has not changed the basic idea, it generally varies less than the original title. Graphics, questionable stylistic choices, and anonymous sound effects make us regret the original game. Control system is accurate and raises the gaming experience. Rainbow Islands therefore appears as a middling product which, although amusing at times, failed to repeat the magic of the original because of some unfortunate choices in the development phase.

Monster 4x4: Stunt Racer it’s better than the previous episode, but at the same time not entirely convincing. This time Ubisoft has treated more technical aspects, good response of the Wii Wheel, and has attempted to offer a complex product varied and rich in ideas. In reality, however, the title does suffer because of a not sublime feeling of speed, some evidence is not properly inspired and that perhaps some game options were not studied with great care. The ideas are good and overall have fun for a few hours either alone or with friends. The inevitable comparison with the ancient Excite Truck humiliates Stunt Racer 4x4 does not disappoint at all, but does not reach that stretched enough.

In an era where everyone’s chasing the next big thing in multiplayer, FBC: Firebreak dares to be weird, borderline, and at times deliberately off-putting. It’s a game that doesn’t demand your daily grind, doesn’t punish you for skipping a week, and doesn’t crave your undivided loyalty. And maybe that’s exactly why it ends up having something to say. Maybe not much — but it says it with a style that sticks. If you’ve got two friends and a few hours to spare for some paranormal chaos, with zero expectations for emotional depth or narrative weight, FBC: Firebreak is well worth the price of admission.

It’s a project with a high level of nonsense, but it also genuinely shows how much the developers must have enjoyed themselves during its design and release. Enhanced by numerous unlockables and collectibles, the game is wild, delirious, and technically rough (at times unforgivably and frustratingly so).
