This year’s WWE’s wrestling game doesn’t bring any big changes to the gameplay but offers a deeper career mode with injuries, exercises and all kind of events. Now it’s also possible to play as a manager. The game is too repetitive in career mode, but very enjoyable when played with friends. [Nov 2007; single player score = 78; mutliplayer score = 84]

Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars – Director's Cut was first published in 1997 and was followed by three more sequels on various platforms. It was one of the best point and click adventure game of the time because of the exceptionally good plot, funny dialogue, strong and unforgettable characters topped with good playability. Director's Cut updates it on Wii with some new scenes and more to play. Time has dealt this gem gently and playing it today is still great fun despite the clumsy 2D graphics. [May 2009]

Offers plenty of minigames (attractions) in Story Mode. They are clever enough to make a fun gaming experience for quite a while. The use of stylus is essential and adds up the the pleasure. The original style Bomberman is included as Battle Mode. More complex puzzles, twists in the plot and less one dimensional characters would have made this a gem instead of just a jolly nice game. Il-2: Battle of Stalingrad boldly seeks to renew the genre by adding modern game design elements to the admittedly often sterile genre of flight simulators. Unfortunately not only does the bold attempt fail spectacularly, the developers also seem to have completely forgotten what made the original Il-2 a legend. The Rise of Flight legacy shows in the rather impressive visuals and physics modeling, but strangely a lot of its nice features didn't make the cut either and the “sequel” falls short of its predecessor in many ways. In a surprising twist, the game doesn't feature any combat at all, but I personally didn't even miss it because after all it's a peaceful game where the main focus is planning your town's future and not fighting against evil aliens. Even though Banished was made by just one man, it feels really polished. In particular, the interface is really well done. Of course, no game is perfect and Banished has some issues. The biggest of them all is that there are no objectives or end goals so you can never really win or lose. [March 2014]

A nice team-based action-RPG that is a bit too much like X-Men Legends. The wiimote controls do not bring anything new to the mix. [Feb 2007]

Hard Reset is an old-school shooter that really takes its name seriously: you should be prepared to die a lot. High difficulty level keeps things interesting even though the overtly cartoonish robot enemies don't really fit the overall gritty art style. [Oct 2011]

While the storyline is a bit lackluster, The Room still manages to be a polished and intriguing experience. The puzzles are mostly fun to solve and the enhancements for PC version ensure that the game looks, sounds and plays great. [Sept 2014]

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed takes the use of the force to a new level. Sometimes all the overpowering abilities can make the game feel a bit too easy, but luckily the balance is usually well preserved. It would've been fun to see a bit more lightsaber action, but Force Unleashed is still entertainingly fast and furious ride where you finally get to do something real with force. Throwing stormtroopers to chasms with force grip just never gets old. [Sept 2008]
