Even if it remains rather childish and won't blow your mind as much as the other Playstation adaptations, Sackboy also takes advantage of all the potential of these machines in terms of graphics. The challenge is not very high, but the gameplay is fascinating, and the levels are efficiently designed. The fact that you can use DualSense for even more immersion, and the charm of the game's artistic direction and its enchanting soundtrack, makes it a must-have platformer for fans of the genre.- MGG

If Sonic Frontiers offers a rather simplistic open world in its conception, it is nevertheless a condensed action, fluidity and dynamism. It's a real pleasure to explore the different islands while sprinting or using the springs and other springboards to go higher and higher. Despite a somewhat redundant scenario and some ergonomic issues, this new title from SEGA is perfect to try 100% without ever getting bored thanks to the fights offering various patterns and mini-games allowing to unlock the zones. In short, an ideal adventure and platform game for the end of the year whether you are a fan of the blue hedgehog or not.- MGG

The surprise effect of the new formula is gone, but its power remains. The first game was already pushing the limits of what we could expect from a blockbuster on consoles, this sequel only widens the gap. More than the colossal work of Santa Monica, it's also the result of a vision of action-adventure with a high narrative content explored for a few years now by Sony PlayStation and its first party studios. A total success on which we can find very few things to say: God of War Ragnarök is definitely a title that commands respect.- MGG

Mount & Blade II Bannerlord is a perfected version of a medieval sandbox game concept where you alternate between territory conquest, large-scale battles and the progression of your character and your kingdom. The few AI wanderings and the repetitiveness of the quests and dialogues do not detract from this exhilarating sandbox where your story is written as you make decisions and take actions.- MGG

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 offers a very nice campaign that will reconcile players who were unfortunately disappointed by Call of Duty: Vanguard. On the program, a lot of action, endearing characters, and of course a bit of betrayal in all this. If some may find that its lifespan is not long enough, it must be admitted that in this case, it is nevertheless sufficient. And as we have said, the end of the campaign announces something crazy for those who would not have enough yet! Besides, there is something for everyone: from hardcore missions to those that require more discretion, you will be served no matter what your taste is. This opus marks more than ever the return of Call of Duty. [Campaign Score = 85]- MGG

With this third episode, Bayonetta asserts its domination over the 3D beat them up with new daring and destabilizing mechanics, but which lead to even more enjoyable and powerful combinations than before. An excellent core game marred by a flawed technique that causes problems of precision and readability of the action, which is particularly problematic for a game of this type. No need to sulk in your pleasure though, the witch has once again managed to bewitch us during the fifteen hours that this new journey lasts.- MGG

The new Tales from the Borderlands, but keeps the Telltale spirit and dives into the crazy world of Borderlands with an effective, permanent, offbeat and enjoyable humor. We will certainly criticize the game's perfectible technique as well as its lack of real player involvement and challenge, but that's nothing compared to the moments of anthology it offers us. The characters not only have depth, but they are also beautifully interpreted. The game is full of funny situations, and many of its lines could become mythical. It is a real success in its genre.- MGG

Gotham Knights is a game that offers what you would expect from it, especially in terms of atmosphere, but it is still a bit light in terms of content. Fortunately, the combat system is solid, and the open world offers an alternative to a recipe we've been fed for a long time. Riding through the streets on a motorcycle or in the air before beating up criminals with class has its charm, and you almost never get bored. It's very beautiful, if not fluid on consoles, and there's a healthy dose of variety in the activities and characters. So you have a good time with this Batman without Batman game, especially in co-op.- MGG

The Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection port on PC meets almost all our expectations. The graphics and comfort options are rich, and it's perfectly playable with keyboard and mouse, on different types of screens. The remaster of Uncharted 4 was already an excellent game thanks to its high level of realization, its solid gameplay and its mastered narration, with characters as credible as they are engaging. This new version allows you to experience all of that officially, and in a modernized form, somewhere other than a Sony console for the first time.- MGG

The developers seem to have learned from the small mistakes of their first opus, especially on the gameplay. While the first title was considered too directional, this one is much less so, offering a much more aggressive approach. As for the scenario, it's a faultless one, the story faithfully follows the past events and transports the player as well in the terrible adventure of Hugo and Amicia. Still in France, the scenery will delight the friends of the little detail and will be able to be transported in the beauty offered by the south of our country. Will Amicia and Hugo finally find the peace they have been looking for? We strongly advise you to play the game to find the answer.- MGG

While not revolutionary, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is a good sequel that refines its recipe on many levels. Scorn offers us an original dreamlike universe in which we don't really want to live. The atmosphere is refined and supports beautiful images with an inspired artistic direction. It's not very long and will displease those who are looking for clear explanations, but, even if it could have done without its shooter side, it offers beautiful exploration phases. Moreover, it offers original environmental puzzles, most of the time presenting a real challenge to solve them, due to the absence of any help from the game.- MGG

As you can see, Overwatch 2 isn't really Overwatch 2; it's more of a big content update or upgrade. The license will get a new game when the story mode is released in 2023 (which will require an update of this test by the way). However, despite the economic system that is very surprising and not looked upon favorably, the competitive games are still very exciting. The new heroines are excellent and the maps are just as good, and it's still fun to watch the talented designers at Blizzard. We hope that the developers will continue on this path and offer their very committed community a game that will meet their expectations.- MGG

EA Sports is preparing its transition in the best possible way by dusting off old systems that are still well established while integrating into its simulation elements that are now essential for a game of this scale and with such a large audience...This year, FIFA 23 is a Next-Gen game with its Hypermotion technology, and we sincerely hope that it will not be changed in the next few weeks, because as it is, it is the best FIFA since the 17th.- MGG

NBA 2K23 shines this year on next-gen and positions itself as one of the best episodes of the license released so far. A gargantuan content, a neat technique, a gameplay much more faithful to the real thing, winks every 5 minutes for NBA fans, a less fraudulent My Team mode and a very positive NBA League Pass offer for the players. However, we can't ignore the differences between the current-gen and next-gen versions given the prices displayed... It is urgent that 2K wakes up and stops this unequal practice towards the players by proposing similar versions or at adequate prices according to what is offered to the players. This 2023 vintage is back on the throne of sports simulations by advocating excellence in the image of an ever more legendary Michael Jordan.- MGG

Soulstice is a beat them all with excellent gameplay and we can thank the duality of possibilities offered by Lute and Briar for that. Nintendo does not take any risks with a Splatoon 3 that is far too close to its predecessor on many points, a predecessor that a sequel that was already lacking in notable novelties compared to the original WiiU title. This is all the more frustrating as the gameplay is still very pleasant to play and the charm of this very special formula remains intact. As far as content is concerned, if we put aside the new weapons, it's mainly the solid single player campaign full of good ideas that manages to raise the bar of this lackluster episode.- MGG

Steelrising is a game that borrows a lot of good ideas from other titles of the genre while putting its own identity. Paris is an incredible playground where the artistic direction takes all its meaning and gives us a lot of eye candy. However, the technical side of the game struggles to keep up and we can clearly feel that the studio lacked the means to achieve its ambitions. The gameplay is very well thought out, rigid without being rigid, which fits perfectly with our character devoid of flesh and blood. Steelrising will perfectly satisfy Souls-like fans who don't know what to do once Elden Ring is over... More beautiful than ever, the adventure offered by the remake of The Last of Us Part 1 fully exploits the PS5's capabilities. Somewhere between GTA and Just Cause, Saints Row doesn't manage to match the gameplay of these two titles, and its particular humor doesn't hit the mark often enough to compensate. The realization also leaves something to be desired, with sometimes poor graphics, fights that are as superficial as they are imprecise, and exploration that gives the impression of floating in the scenery as soon as you want to climb somewhere. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a very generous title, maybe a bit too much: trying to make itself interesting, Monolith Soft's J-RPG ends up spreading itself by unfolding its story in a confusing and clumsy way. The same is true for the gameplay: flexible and addictive, it ends up showing its limits in the last third, due to an overabundance of enemies and soporific game situations. Unfortunately, the life span of Stray is limited to the number of lives the cats can have. Indeed, we finished the game at 100% in a little less than 9 hours. We estimate that 7 hours will be more than enough to finish the main plot of the game, or even 10 hours for players who will take their time to contemplate each painting offered by the game. In a way, Stray's rather affordable price is in line with its lifespan. The more skilled players may even take less time to finish the game, so it's quite a shame. Stray is a fabulous title that offers a refreshing environment, a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat and meticulous exploration that makes you want more, but our beautiful journey ends when we clearly want more.- MGG

If you're not put off by the style of graphic animation and are a fan of narrative games, you should try this title, especially with friends. The discussions it can generate to make decisions, with the possibility of vetoing some of them, is an interesting idea, as is the broadcast mode on Twitch. Even in solo, the scenario as well as the atmosphere of the game, and the delicate situations it proposes, are worth the detour. The graphics and music are particularly well done. Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is the expansion we've been waiting for, with richer and more satisfying gameplay than ever, added content, and a seriously enhanced difficulty. Even if it introduces a new and very fun way to play single player, as well as various upgrades, it can be criticized for being too classic, and simply following the usual formula, as well as being too light in terms of content. For casual or moderate players who don't want to be competitive, Diablo Immortal proves to be a fun and enjoyable game on mobile, which adapts the gameplay of the Diablo license well. Invested players, on the other hand, will struggle with artificially slowed progression, completely insane premium store prices to optimize their character, and a barely functional PC version. Kaiju Wars is an ingenious tribute to all the big monster disaster movies. It is full of personality and good ideas on all levels. Through its well thought out gameplay, it reproduces the helplessness of a conventional army desperately trying to slow down Godzilla and his colleagues as they raze a city, with the stress of watching the monsters advance without being able to defeat them and the satisfaction that comes with victory, even if it is short-lived. Without being catastrophic, the result is unsatisfactory in almost all areas, and we are saddened to see so many good ideas badly exploited, and with wasted potential. The combat system is original but badly balanced. The atmosphere is intriguing and the city has a real verticality, but it is completely flooded with repetitive fights and items to collect. The narration could have saved the whole thing, but it quickly stumbles, and ends after only a few hours without giving any reason to be interested. Elden Ring manages to take everything that makes Dark Souls games stand out, and then apply it on a much larger scale, in a huge and complex world. The exploration and combat are rich, challenging and satisfying, and there's a constant sense of new things to discover everywhere. But many shortcuts have been taken. The game has some flaws and technical limitations, such as shaky multiplayer and a sometimes frustrating camera. Without being an absolute revolution, Elden Ring offers a unique vision of open world gaming, and it stands as a new model of the genre.- MGG

MONARK borrows more from the urban dark fantasy fictions of the 90's/2000's than from a Persona 5. Its rough approach, and especially its outdated realization will put off many of you. On the other hand, the most patient will discover a real good RPG, with a lot of passion inside, and whose interest grows with the time you give it.- MGG

Total War: Warhammer 3 is the conclusion of the Warhammer cycle for a saga initiated 22 years ago. Without upsetting the fundamentals, this new Total War is the culmination of the saga with a game that is deeper than ever (with the possibility to play peacefully), very rich in content with eight factions (and as many campaigns) while having a neat and optimized technical part.- MGG

Horizon Forbidden West does what you'd expect from any blockbuster sequel worthy of the name: by taking the basics of the original episode and improving them as much as possible, Guerilla Games makes sure to hit the mark. There is still room for improvement for a hypothetical Horizon 3, but this is a solid title that hits hard for the beginning of the year of Playstation Studios productions.- MGG

Overall and to be quite honest, Lost Ark is truly an excellent game. Very complete in most aspects, the game from Smilegate RPG doesn't skimp on details and promises many hours of play to those interested in the MMOARPG style. However, it is important to mention that Lost Ark suffers from some serious defects due to its condition as a Korean game: the exploitation of the player's irrepressible need to spend money to compensate for a possible backlog and its affiliation with gambling games, two factors that should be seriously considered, especially by those players who are serious about committing themselves. Nevertheless, aside from these defects, Lost Ark offers Western gamers a new way to approach both the MMORPG and Hack'n'Slash styles. By taking the time and enjoying the game without rushing to get the credit card out as soon as possible, the average gamer should enjoy Lost Ark without too much trouble, and that's probably the most important thing in the end.- MGG

Noting Strive was difficult, because it really depends on what you expect from the game. If you're a FGC veteran, or a beginner who plans on investing time for discovering fighting games, Strive is a masterpiece. Beautiful game with rock/metal songs, GGST will give you all the keys to become the best fighter in the world, thanks to his amazing tutorials and rollback netcode. But if you just plan on playing offline, just in the solo mode, you should avoid it, because that is not where Strive shines. And if you just want a fighting game to play with friends at home from time to time, well you can give it a shot because the characters are really cool, and you'll have a lot of fun.- MGG

If Sifu is not a perfect copy, it remains a very good game. Demanding but never unfair, don't be fooled by the low number of levels because you'll have to start them several times to master the game perfectly, extending considerably its life span. Sifu remains a difficult game, a kind of beat them up die & retry, even succeed and retry. If you are looking for a game that will resist you, requiring you to master its mechanics, then your expectations will be fulfilled.- MGG

Without bringing any significant gameplay novelty, Roll7 still offers to its series a universe with a crazy charm. For those who have already played the first two episodes, you will certainly be on familiar ground: the levels follow one another at full speed, the difficulty is still high, and the secondary challenges should keep the hardcore gamers busy for many hours. A good game, efficient and fun, if not as original as its artistic direction would have let you hope.- MGG

The long-awaited Yu-Gi-Oh! game delivers on its promise. Whether you're a novice, a hobbyist or an expert, it will be a game for you. Its single player mode which is full of tutorials to learn the basics and its mechanics while telling stories about the archetypes. On the other hand, with PvP in room or ranked with an exclusive banlist that puts all players on the same level. Especially with the possibility to craft your cards or destroy them. There are however some flaws that can be found. Apart from that, the lights are green for Konami's competitive game.- MGG

Despite a certain imbalance where basic textures and other simplistic models rub shoulders with polished graphics, such as realistic VR manipulations limited to objects that have a use, Wanderer is overall a high quality title. Thanks to its concept of intertemporal puzzles, it makes us efficiently cross time periods and rack our brains to come to the end of what looks like a huge escape game. However, you'd better hang on to some of the more difficult puzzles. Wanderer will offer you an enjoyable adventure in which you will enjoy playing with time.- MGG

Pokémon Legends Arceus is clearly not the title we were hoping for but it is worth the detour. It is important to talk about the aging graphics that too often spoil the pleasure of exploration or the battles against the Monarchs that are not very interesting. And yet, this is a revolution in the franchise. We can only congratulate the addictive gameplay and the new mechanics available. The new, fluid way of capturing Pokémon and moving around is quite simply the best addition. All in all, it's a huge Pokémon adventure that you shouldn't miss for its intriguing storyline, its fun progression system, its tons of side activities and its superb OST.- MGG

Rainbow Six Extraction is a good cooperative PvE game that takes the codes of Rainbow Six Siege. The stealth, the management of our agents, the difficulty encountered, the intelligence of the monsters and the strategy make it a totally different game and does not feel like a flat copy of Left 4 Dead. The gameplay could have seemed repetitive, but the worlds change so much that we don't get bored. Moreover, the progression system is also a factor. Monster Hunter Rise is a successful and worthy port, its fantastic gameplay and content more than compensate for the somewhat outdated graphics on PC. It's still clean and rather pleasant to look at during the fights, and especially very fluid. Those who enjoyed Monster Hunter World shouldn't hesitate to jump in, it's an equally valid game in the license, even if it's a bit different. Alfred Hitchcock - Vertigo offers a worthy tribute to the master of anxiety. Not only does it respect the codes of the films of the time and provides us with a soundtrack at the height of its model, but it also relies on a perfectly crafted scenario, with numerous twists and turns that keep us on the edge of our seats. It's a pity that it suffers from a not always perfect technique, as well as an often disastrous lip animation. But if you are a fan of narrative games and Hitchcock's films, you should forgive this pitfall as the atmosphere is there and the flashbacks are appreciable.- MGG

Chorus is an excellent space combat game with ships that, although it doesn't stand out in anything, it fulfills all its aspects. And that, on many occasions, is better than being overly ambitious and that penalizes the final result. The gameplay is more satisfying than ever, the new semi-open world format works like a charm, and yet Halo Infinite fails to make its campaign the unforgettable moment we were expecting. The obvious lack of ambition in the storyline, which feels like a prologue, and too many repetitions of locations and objectives in its final third, prevent 343 Industries from reaching the firmament. However, it remains a particularly solid FPS, which should keep you busy for a good fifteen hours of fun and to which you will certainly return with pleasure once the co-op mode is available.- MGG

The space battles in Chorus are good, piloting its agile super-powered fighter through enemy fire while devastating hordes of enemies is fun. This efficient gameplay is its strength, and the special powers are well integrated into the gameplay. The fights tend to become too easy, but the boss battles compensate. The exploration is unfortunately not there as the open world is empty, it is more an excuse for dialogues and additional battles. However, it has the merit of being very pleasant to look at. The realization is quite good, whether it is through the graphics, the music, and even the cinematics and dialogues. So, we spend a good time on Chorus, during the twenty hours to finish it the first time.- MGG

After 3 hours, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story becomes enjoyable to play, with combat and exploration phases that flow really well. The balance between "puzzles" and fighting is quite good, and if you add to that a lot of side quests, crafting and lore, you get a game that should please dungeon crawler, turn-based RPG or League of Legends aficionados. In short, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is better in every way than its predecessor, which was already a good game, but lacked possibilities when it was released. Ragnaröck brings to the rhythmic VR game something that was missing for the fans of the genre. Less body movement, sure, but your arms have to work like hell. Now with 32 tracks and 6 different environments, as well as various skins to unlock for the hammers, not to mention the tracks you can import at will, it shines with a simple but effective gameplay that requires hours of training and a lot of coordination at the highest level. Whether it's the number of weapons or maps, the quantities are more than enough for the release of Battlefield. It is rare to change weapons; once you find your "heart" weapon, you never let go of it, except for a few exceptions. Battlefield 2042 has a bright future ahead of it due to the developers' complete coverage of the game for a full year. Call of Duty Vanguard is between modern and traditional. We still find our favorite game modes and some new ones that will please players. The weapons are well thought out with a configuration that is not unpleasant after reflection. The balancing is not bad and the TTK is really satisfying. The Campaign mode and the Zombie mode are unfortunately the black spots. We'll put aside the aspect of microtransactions in a game sold at a high price which darkens the picture a bit, because it remains a very good game experience. Project Zero 5 is not a bad game: with its Japanese horror movie atmosphere reminiscent of The Grudge or the mythical The Ring, Koei Tecmo's survival-horror succeeds in immersing the player in its scary universe full of macabre stories and tormented spirits. Also, Gamepad is for once very well exploited with a Camera Obscura to be controlled directly with the gyroscope (or the sticks if you wish).
