Against the Storm is an independent proposal that combines the foundations of a city-building game with the unpredictability of a roguelite, in a format that is not boring and offers constant replayability thanks to the versatility of the title.

More personal and more "out of costume" moments are part of one of the best superhero games we've seen ever. A natural evolution and improved in every aspect over the previous two installments that Insomniac worked to the last detail, and a must-have for any PlayStation 5 user.

It's not a frustrating game, nor is it a bad proposal, but it does fall halfway down the road by failing to stand out. The open world that invites us to go through the playlists, before unlocking fast travel, is aesthetically appealing, but it feels like a ghost town where nothing happens and our gameplay loop lacks basic fun. The playlists are a great aspect, but not all of them are interesting to explore, leaving aside the strong offering of vehicles with anecdotal experiences that aren't all that worthwhile. On the plus side, it continues to appeal to arcade adrenaline. While it wants to copy something that was previously successful, it doesn't end up being a meaningless copy.

Leaving aside the discussion about whether this DLC should have been included in the base title, Separate Ways has all the weight to be a robust game on its own. While the story and the entire context is tied to Resident Evil 4 Remake, it offers us a new experience, with a completely different character, with improved and expanded gameplay, and with a very high difficulty in direct response to the dynamics it handles. Capcom's hand is felt in every section, and there is no doubt that we are in front of a Resident Evil with all the letters. In today's times, having a DLC in which you can invest up to 6 hours, is something very remarkable and appreciated. As part of the saga, there is no doubt that we are facing a proposal that no fan should miss.

Lies of P joins the list of this year's great releases and is a must for all soulslike fans. While it takes many of the elements already known in Dark Souls and Bloodborne, it manages to have its own identity with a great character design, a unique setting and a narrative that knows how to grow through the whole experience.

Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle is a compelling game but the sum of the small elements feel limited. The little variety of enemies and weapons makes the game lose surprise quickly as well as an almost null exploration and puzzles that don't feel organic with the gameplay. However, the story is interesting and the game is fun, managing to keep us entertained throughout its seven hour length.

Dave the Diver is the right indie game at the right time. In a year full of great releases, Mintrocket shows us the worth of a simple and relaxed experience, that truly feels like a pleasure to sit down and play.

Starfield has one of the best new game pluses I've ever tried and the ambition of every edge of the title is continually felt as we play. I was living this experience for over fifty hours, but I could have played five hundred and I would still have so many things to enjoy. There will be a lot of debate about a lot of things about Starfield, but, without a doubt, it is a step forward in the innovation of how new technologies can give us an experience in videogames and it is a work that convincingly goes for much more, something that is increasingly valuable in this field.

Baldur's Gate 3 is an incredible game, full of player-driven choices and expressive combat that appeals to creativity. It is a deep, flexible and immersive title capable of telling a gripping story that invites replayability. Larian Studios has brought to life a proposal that everyone, even those responsible for the original two installments, can certainly enjoy.

Immortals of Aveum is a fun magical FPS that takes place in a colorful and spectacular world made in Unreal Engine 5. It has a frenetic and agile combat system, a modest replayability component and a fresh proposal. However, its predictable story, flat characters and the irregular aesthetic presentation end up being a difficult burden to drag. When it shows its best side it is pure fun, but when the action slows down and the dialogues, the exploration of generic areas and the constant updating in the forge begin, it can become repetitive and even tedious.

The independent 2D RPG adventure of the year is called Sea of Stars. An unmissable game for any gamer who loves the infinite references of Japanese development, and a good entry from a studio that is going strong with its second great success. In its 30 hours of gameplay, we will go along with an exciting cast of characters in a plot worthy of being part of the sea of stars.

The Lord of The Rings: Gollum is one of the worst releases in a long time. The game seeks to be a AAA title, but has an unclear direction that makes it an anachronic, riddled with errors and with a mediocre experience for both fans and non-fans of one of the most important IPs of recent times in nerd culture.

What does perfection really mean in a video game? Only a masterpiece can generate that series of questions and a debate around it. That ambitious experience that, in its search, goes for everything and beyond. For me, without a doubt, that represents a 10.
