After many years of stagnant design, the Fire Emblem franchise takes a huge step in sophistication with Awakening, probably the best strategy RPG on the 3DS and maybe in the genre, at least in recent years. Its amazing storytelling is only bested by perfect mechanics that nurture with relevant characters, each one unique in abilities, dialogue and personality. The well-crafted design finds perfect match in beautiful cinematics and orchestral music, everything creating an harmonious and epic experience.- LevelUp

In general, this is another platformer like any other out there. However, its presentation is enough to make you have it under you weirdest games list, even if the game experience is not that meaningful.- LevelUp

Dead Space 3's action filled gameplay offers a great experience for those who enjoy a cooperative adventure, but its suspenseful and intense plot also makes it appropriate for players who would rather face Hell alone.- LevelUp

A good attempt to bring competitive multiplayer to Xbox LIVE Arcade. With qualities like weapon customization or the possibility to modify every aspect of your character, this game falls short of becoming one prominent example of its genre. Maybe in the future the developers will include more weapons and new maps, but in the mean time this game is fun but doesn't offer anything new.- LevelUp

Due to the simplicity of the levels and lack of enemy diversity, the game experience was extremely short; it took 2 players about 5 hours to finish the campaign on hardened difficulty, and to be clearer, we can say that the only difference between difficulties lays in damage resistance and the lack of a HUD.- LevelUp

The distinctive feature of MGR: Revengeance is the Blade mode. Platinum Games surpassed themselves with the development of the mechanics on this is game: the cuts that you make with Raiden's katana will be extremely accurate, your enemy's limbs will detach right where you aim just like a piece of ham that was put through a slicer.- LevelUp

Even though Crytek seemed to have tried to sell Crysis 3 more as a technical achievement than as an actual game, the fact is that this is a FPS that sticks out for more than its aesthetic component, by providing an experience with an identity of its own, despite being a brief one.- LevelUp

The three tables included in this DLC are among the most interesting and awe inspiring ones so far. Fans of the Star Wars saga will have a hard time trying to reach a high score and taking in all the details and references from the movies and the animated series.- LevelUp

Tomb Raider is an action-packed adventure game that offers a new origin story for Lara and that mixes an epic plot and an incredibly detailed setting which let us enjoy the very beginning of her journey towards her legendary status.- LevelUp

A good game doesn't have to be carefully crafted to be entertaining. As Fuel Overdose demonstrates, sometimes the fun comes from the design mistakes. As a top down racing experience it offers frenetic action at the expense of constant control issues and glitches that promise frustration, but even though the chaos ensures a sense of pleasure since you can mess with everything, everywhere. Sadly, character design and presentation are kind of archaic.- LevelUp

After changing the longstanding mechanics of Castlevania with Lords of Shadow, MercurySteam managed to merge action and exploration in Mirror of Fate. The game is far from the Metroidvania style but in exchange offers many hours of intense combat, and a story that studies in the Belmont family mythology. If only the platforming and puzzle solving were better, this could be the perfect successor to Symphony of the Night; but unfortunately it is not but it's a great 3DS game and a thrilling interlude while we wait for Lords of Shadows 2.- LevelUp

SimCity is a fun and addictive game that offers an intuitive simulation interface that will help you create thriving cities that can interact and trade between each other. Even though it's launch was smeared due to server overload, once you start creating, you won't be able to stop.- LevelUp

Every Naruto game is an interesting ride on the adventures of the animated series, but not every one of them turns out to be a great gaming experience and Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 is the perfect example. If you're an anime fanatic there is no doubt that you'll enjoy the combat style and the wide variety of combos, but if you want to live the emotion of the show, maybe you have to keep watching it since the story mode can get extremely tedious.- LevelUp

Ninja Theory shattered any doubt of its ability with a genius reinvention of Devil May Cry, but their talent with DLC may be questioned after Vergil's Downfall, a brief story that expands on the past of Dante's brother with not so much glamour. There is a handful of missions, each lasting no more than 20 minutes and the cinematics look underdeveloped. For its quality, this piece of downloadable content is not worth the price.- LevelUp

Ascension might be a prequel but it's far from a step behind in the relevance of God of War. Instead it is a necessary evolution that builds a better future for the franchise. Its half baked multiplayer could benefit with further balance and better objectives but putting that aside, the story is as tradition dictates an epic tale of vengeance, blood and loads of action. Despite the glorious combat and top-notch graphics, we can avoid feeling disenchanted with a toned down Kratos, but after all it comes with the logic of this being the beginnings.- LevelUp

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm presents a radical change in relation to the previous game. Kerrigan's story ends satisfactorily, although it seems a little clichéd at times, and the new gameplay mechanics are fun and they add a needed breath of fresh air to the single player campaign.- LevelUp

LEGO City: Undercover is a fascinating adventure that even though it stays close to the franchise roots, it also takes a different approach with its own identity and charming originality. Infused with clever jokes, brilliant puzzles and excellent narrative, it doesn't need far away galaxies nor Middle Earth myths in order to bring pure fun.- LevelUp

Gears of War: Judgment marks a successful return to the GoW universe. The declassified missions, as well as the Horde ones, fit beautifully in the game and makes it a strong FPS with a nice Arcade touch, similar to what we saw in Bulletstorm.- LevelUp
